Tesla Reportedly Facing Trade Disruption On Cybercab, Semi-Truck Parts From China

The latest supply chain disruption report comes from Reuters, which claims that shipments of Tesla components from China—intended for its Cybercab and Semi—will be suspended. The report, based on a single unnamed source, has not been confirmed by Tesla or Elon Musk on X.

Here's more color on Tesla's trade disruption, as described by the source:

Tesla was ready to absorb the additional costs when Trump imposed the 34% tariff on Chinese goods but could not do so when the tariff went beyond that, leaving shipping plans suspended, said the person, who declined to be named as the matter is private.

Trump raised additional tariffs to 84% on April 9 and has since increased that to 125%, bringing the total tariffs on Chinese goods exported to the U.S. to 145%.

The company was scheduled to start receiving component shipments in upcoming months with the goal of starting trial production of the two models in October and mass production in 2026, the person said, with Cybercab to be produced in Texas and Semi in Nevada.

Johnson 'Not A Big Fan' Of Raising Taxes For Wealthy, Supports Tax Cuts For Everyone

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said that he likely will not support a measure to hike taxes on wealthy Americans, saying he and his party prefer tax reduction across the board.

Johnson was asked Sunday by Fox News host Maria Bartiromo about reports that Republicans may increase taxes on the wealthiest 40 percent to pay for certain initiatives backed by President Donald Trump, including his promise not to tax tips or Social Security payments.

“I’m not a big fan of doing that,” Johnson responded in the interview. “We’re the Republican Party and we’re for tax reduction for everyone. So, I mean, that’s a general principle that we always try to abide by. There’s lots of discussion. There’s lots of ideas on the Hill.”

Criminal Referral Filed Against NY AG Over Real Estate Fraud Accusation

A criminal referral against New York Attorney General Letitia James has been filed with the DOJ, alleging that James had "falsified records" to get home loans for a Virginia property that she claimed was her "principal residence" in 2023 - while she was serving as a New York state prosecutor

Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Director William Pulte sent the missive to Attorney General Pam Bondi and Deputy AG Todd Blanche, claiming that in late August 2023 - weeks before she launched her civil fraud trial against the Trump Organization for inflating the values of its properties.

In 2021, James also purchased a 5-family Brooklyn property, but has "consistently misrepresented the same property as only having four units in both building permit applications and numerous mortgage documents and applications," the letter noted.

California Governor Gavin Newsom Announces Lawsuit Against President Trump

California Governor and likely 2028 Presidential candidate Gavin Newsom announced this morning he will be suing Trump, claiming that the president’s tariffs are “wrecking chaos” across the Golden State. This marks the first time a state has taken legal action against Trump over tariffs.

The suit filed by Newsom will argue that Trump’s use of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act to impose tariffs on Mexico, Canada, and China or a 10% tariff on all imports violates the U.S. Constitution. The act, which was signed in law by then-President Jimmy Carter in 1977, enables a president to freeze and block transactions in response to foreign threats.

“President Trump’s unlawful tariffs are wreaking chaos on California families, businesses, and our economy — driving up prices and threatening jobs,” Newsom fumed in a statement. “We’re standing up for American families who can’t afford to let the chaos continue.”

Newsom went on to argue that California could lose billions of dollars due to Trump’s tariffs.

ANOTHER Top Pentagon Official Suspended as Internal Leak Investigation Expands

The wide-ranging leak investigation into the Pentagon continues to claim major scalps.

Politico reported this afternoon that a third top official in the Defense Department was put on administrative leave Wednesday.

The man in question is Colin Carroll, chief of staff to Deputy Defense Secretary Stephen Feinberg.

The Gateway Pundit previously reported Secretary Pete Hegseth placed Deputy Chief of Staff Darin Selnick on administrative leave. This action followed an ongoing investigation into unauthorized disclosures of sensitive military information.

Selnick, an Air Force veteran and former senior adviser to Concerned Veterans for America, was escorted from the Pentagon on Tuesday.

A few hours earlier on Tuesday, TGP revealed that top Hegseth advisor Dan Caldwell was escorted out of the Pentagon on Tuesday for “an unauthorized disclosure.”

According to Reuters, this suspension came after a March 21 memo ordering a Pentagon investigation into leaks ordered by Pete Hegseth’s chief of staff.

As TGP notes, Caldwell was also part of the Mike Waltz Houthi Signal chat group. It is unclear whether his removal is tied to that incident.

110K Acres of New Mexico Border Land Transferred to Control of U.S. Army

The U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) transferred control and administrative jurisdiction of nearly 110,000 acres of federal land along the New Mexico-Mexico border to the Department of the Army. The move by the Interior Department is to comply with President Donald Trump’s order for the U.S. military to take control of federal land along our southern border.

“Securing our border and protecting our nation’s resources go hand in hand,” Interior Secretary Doug Burgum said in an announcement on Tuesday. “The American people gave President Trump a mandate to make America safe and strong again. This transfer reflects Interior’s commitment to public safety, national security, and responsible stewardship of our public lands.”

Judge finds probable cause to hold Trump administration in contempt for violating deportation order

A federal judge on Wednesday said he has found probable cause to hold the Trump administration in criminal contempt of court for violating his orders to turn around planes carrying deportees to El Salvador.

U.S. District Judge James E. Boasberg said he the administration must try to “purge” itself of a contempt finding or he will launch hearings and potentially refer the matter for prosecution.

“The Court does not reach such conclusion lightly or hastily; indeed, it has given Defendants ample opportunity to rectify or explain their actions. None of their responses has been satisfactory,” the judge wrote.

The move by Boasberg marks an escalation in a battle between the judicial and executives branches of government over a president’s powers to carry out key White House priorities. The Republican president has called for Boasberg’s impeachment while the Justice Department has accused the judge of overstepping his authority.

Boasberg, who was nominated to the federal bench by Democratic President Barack Obama, ordered the administration last month not to deport anyone in its custody under the Alien Enemies Act. Trump invoked the 1798 wartime law over what he claimed was an invasion by the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua.

When Boasberg was told there were already planes in the air headed to El Salvador, which has agreed to house deported migrants in a notorious prison, the judge said the aircraft needed to be returned to the United States. But hours later, El Salvador’s president, Nayib Bukele, announced that the deportees had arrived in his country. In a social media post, he said, “Oopsie…too late” above an article referencing Boasberg’s order.

The Trump administration has argued it did not violate any orders, noted the judge did not include the turnaround directive in his written order and said the planes had already left the U.S. by the time that order came down.

In The Information War Your Brain Is The Next Battlespace

The great war of our times is not the war for the galaxy; it's the war for the mind. That war has been going on for a lot longer than most people believe, and recent technological developments have made the battle for your brain much more literal than most people comprehend.

Space, we are told, is "the final frontier." And you can bet your bottom dollar that where there's a frontier, there's a gaggle of oligarchs looking to stick their snoot into it.

That's why it didn't come as much of a surprise when the laughably named "North Atlantic" Treaty Organization declared in 2019 that outer space is now one of the alliance's "operational domains."

. . . or when the NATO gang pledged $1 billion last year to "improve the sharing of intelligence from national and commercial reconnaissance satellites."

. . . or when the "vice chief of space operations" [<actual title!] of the US Space Force [<actual branch of the Department of Defense!] warned last month that "China is practicing 'dogfighting' satellites as part of its expanding capabilities in space" [←actual neo-Red Scare propaganda!].

All of this outer space hype might lead you to believe that the real battles of the 21st century are going to be taking place above Earth.

But, with all due respect to Captain Kirk and his crew, space is not the final frontier, and whatever fireworks are taking place up in the night skies is simply a distraction from the real battle taking place down here on Earth.

Yes, as it turns out, outer space isn't the next great battlespace. Inner space is.

The great war of our times is not the war for the galaxy; it's the war for the mind. That war has been going on for a lot longer than most people believe, and recent technological developments have made the battle for your brain much more literal than most people comprehend.

Today, let's peel back the layers of deception and reveal the primary battleground of this fifth-generation war on us all: the space between your ears.

JD Vance: U.S. Was Wrong to Force European Allies Into Becoming Security Vassals After Second World War

The United States was wrong to neuter European power and create vassal states in the 1950s through events like the Suez crisis, Vice President JD Vance has said.

Europe and the United States are indivisible because of their shared culture and history, but Vice President Vance argued in an interview with Unherd that Europe’s relationship is best served by being more self-reliant and even resisting America’s direction of travel when bad decisions are being made.

He told the publication: “It’s not good for Europe to be the permanent security vassal of the United States”.

The Trump White House, particularly Vance, has been open about its qualms about the very real deficiencies in European defence and their position as effective American security clients.

Yet these latest remarks are noteworthy because, until now, not much has been said about how this state of affairs came to be and that it was created largely at the behest of the United States. Vance now says he recognises this as a mistake of previous and historic administrations.

Vance cited the Suez crisis of 1956, in which the United Kingdom and France moved to assert their position as global military powers but were slapped down by the United States amid its pursuit of decolonisation. Ultimately, coming so soon after the Second World War, London and Paris were not in a position to push back against Washington and were forced to accept a new position as security clients to America, to greater or lesser degrees over time.

While this unforgiving attitude towards its own allies gave Washington diplomatic leverage in opposing Soviet imperialism, it also served to disengage two of America’s most militarily consequential allies in the long term. This eventually created and contributed to the situation that American voters now oppose, the U.S. as the sole major power on the pro-liberty side of the world and American taxpayers being forced to bear the lion’s share of the burden of defending the West.

When Vance complained in the allegedly leaked Signal chats concerning U.S. strikes on the Houthis about Europe’s inability to protect the Red Sea itself, it is precisely because of decades of American foreign policy that has discouraged or outright blocked European states from having a hand in that region in favour of U.S. hegemony.

But, showing an understanding of how the current geopolitical landscape came to be, the Vice President said Britain and France had been right when they tried to assert their position as global powers in the 1950s to keep European access to the East open through the Suez Canal and — while heavily implied, but not said outright — through developing independent nuclear weapons programmes.

Hong Kong announces suspension of postal service for goods heading to the United States effective April 16th.

Hong Kong’s postal service will stop handling packages coming from or going to the United States, in the latest retaliatory move amid an escalating trade war between Washington and Beijing.

In a statement published Wednesday announcing the decision, the government of Hong Kong cited US President Donald Trump’s decision last week to eliminate the so-called de minimis exception for items posted from the city to the US. The exemption applied to international shipments worth $800 or less entering the US.

“The US is unreasonable, bullying and imposing tariffs abusively,” the government said in the statement. “The public in Hong Kong should be prepared to pay exorbitant and unreasonable fees due to the US’s unreasonable and bullying acts.”

The government said the postal service, Hongkong Post, will stop accepting packages transported by sea with immediate effect and stop taking airborne packages starting from April 27. Other postal items containing only documents, for example letters, will not be affected.

The retaliatory move means companies and individuals in Hong Kong will have to pay private couriers such as FedEx and DHL to deliver packages, further driving up costs for consumers on top of US levies.

Know your enemy: Trump must wise up, fast, to inhumane Hamas and ruthless Iran

No, Mr. President, Gaza’s genocidal terrorists don’t wink at their hostages or show any ‘sign of love,’ and Iran’s nuclear ambitions can’t be ‘easily’ solved in talks led by an overextended non-expert

By David Horovitz

One of the less-noticed but very telling moments in US President Donald Trump’s Oval Office press conference with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last week came when the president was asked two questions in quick succession — first about the familiar subject of how exactly he was going to get the hostages out of Gaza, and then about why he thought his just-revealed initiation of direct talks with Iran would yield a better nuclear deal than the 2015 agreement he inherited, denounced and abandoned in his first term.

He initially gave a fairly brief and unremarkable answer to the hostages’ question, and then offered an even briefer response to the question about Iran, the day’s hot subject — saying only that his planned new deal would be “different and maybe a lot stronger.” But then, unprompted, he returned to the hostages issue, and began musing at length about what the freed hostages with whom he has met have told him about the conditions in which they were held.

“I had people right in this office, this beautiful Oval Office, they came in, ten people, hostages, you know that,” he began. “And I said to them, So how was it? And the stories they told me, as an example: I said to them, Was there any sign of love? … Did the Hamas show any signs of, like, help or liking you? Did they wink at you? Did they give you a piece of bread extra? Did they give you a meal on the side? Like you think of doing, like what happened in Germany, happened elsewhere — people would try and help people that were in unbelievable distress.”

Trump kept on going, overtly internalizing the inhumanity of Hamas, repeating himself: “I said, Did they ever wink at you, like, You’ll be okay. You’re going to be okay. ‘No, they didn’t do that. They’d slap us.’ The hatred is unbelievable… You know, they lived in a pipe. Not really a tunnel. It was a pipe. And they always thought they were suffocating, they were going to suffocate… We hear tunnels, bad, but pipes are worse. And the stories I heard were incredible. But I just said, Was there any sign of potential love or affection? And there were none whatsoever. It was amazing to me. There was nothing like, ‘Here take this,’ just a little extra meal or something. They lived like hell…. These are people that have been really, really horribly treated. I’ve never seen anything like it, actually. I was very surprised to hear the answer.”

A Crisis of Criticism

The Israel Lobby group StandWithUs on Tuesday shared a new feature-length film hyping "campus antisemitism" as a five-alarm fire that can only be fixed with censorship and laws against antisemitism.

The film, titled "Blind Spot – An Eye-Opening Film About Campus Antisemitism," was funded by "The Mitzi Project" – which CauseIQ reveals was funded in turn by the Goldman Sachs Philanthropy Fund.

The film features Jewish students telling various stories detailing the alleged antisemitism they say they experienced at their schools.

https://youtu.be/PXtRX14gaac

One of the first stories features Jewish students at George Washington University lamenting how a drunk freshman girl was caught joking to a friend on Snapchat about how "we're gonna f—ing bomb Israel, bro!"

They present her joke as an actual threat.

The young woman was doxed by Jewish activist groups and then investigated and intimated by the school but they couldn't do anything to her as her comments were free speech protected by the First Amendment.

Moving on to UC Berkeley, they had another Jewish student tell the story of how he attended a pro-Palestine protest on campus that hurt his feelings so much that he "went back home" and "started crying."

Erdogan Slams Israel Over Syria In Public, Makes Concessions In Secret

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has slammed Israel for undermining stability in neighboring Syria, days after the two countries held talks aimed at de-escalating tensions between them.

Speaking at a diplomacy forum in the southern resort city of Antalya on April 11, Erdogan said that Israel was turning minorities against Syria’s new government and threatening regional stability with its military actions.

“Israel is trying to dynamite the December 8 revolution by stirring up ethnic and religious affiliations and turning minorities in Syria against the government,” Erdogan said.

“Israel is turning into a problematic country that directly threatens the stability of the region, especially with its attacks on Lebanon and Syria,” Erdofan added, adding that the Israeli military campaign was disrupting efforts to combat ISIS.

Turkey, which backed Islamists-led forces that overthrew the regime of Bashar al-Assad last December, has been working to build a strategic alliance, including a defense pact, with the interim government installed by its allies in Syria. Meanwhile, Israel has been waging a military campaign to push the forces of Syria’s new Islamist-led government away from the occupied Golan Heights and destroy the military capabilities of the country.

Despite Erdogan’s loud remarks, Maariv reported on April 16, citing an Israeli official, that Turkey affirmed to Israel behind closed doors that it was not seeking a confrontation in Syria.

Turkey and Israel held talks in Azerbaijan aimed at finding ways to de-escalate growing tensions in Syria earlier this month.

The talks came following a wave of Israeli strikes that hit three air bases in central Syria, including one located near the ancient city of Palmyra, which were recently scouted by the Turkish military. Ankara was reportedly planning on deploying air defenses and combat drones there.

At the talks, Israel made it clear that any change in the deployment of foreign forces in Syria, and in particular the establishment of Turkish bases in Palmyra, would constitute crossing a red line and would be considered a breach of trust, according to Maariv.

The unnamed Israeli official told Maariv that the two sides agreed in Azerbaijan on a permanent mechanism to prevent military friction in Syria. The two sides also agreed to hold regular meetings on Syria, according to the source. However, a date and location for the next meeting have not yet been set.

The official also revealed that Israel was launching attacks in Syria “every day”, and stressed that the country “will not allow the new Syrian regime to gain strength and establish an army.”

Israel’s quick and powerful reaction has apparently forced Turkey to shelf its planned military expansion in Syria, at least for the time being.

This does not mean, however, that Israel was done with Syria. There is some truth to Erdogan’s claims that Israel was working to undermine stability in the country. Yet, Turkey’s Islamist allies in the country seem to be playing along, especially when it comes to pushing the minorities towards Israel.
