Bahamas puts SpaceX rocket landings on hold pending review: report
April 18, 2025
Just months after SpaceX landed a Falcon 9 rocket in the Bahamas for the first time, the country has hit pause on future landings pending an environmental review, according to news wire reports.
A top Bahamas government official announced on Tuesday (April 15) that the country was suspending future SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket landings until a "full environmental assessment" is complete, Reuters reported.
"No further clearances will be granted until a full environmental assessment is reviewed," Reuters quoted Bahamian Director of Communications Latrae Rahming as writing on the social media site X.
SpaceX made its first Falcon 9 landing in the Bahamas on Feb. 18 during a Starlink satellite fleet launch.
The Falcon 9's first-stage booster returned to Earth to land on a SpaceX drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean stationed off the Bahamian coast.
"Our new landing collaboration with The Bahamas will enable Falcon 9 to launch to new orbital trajectories," SpaceX wrote via X at the time.
On the heels of that flight, officials in the Bahamas said they expected up to 19 more SpaceX landings throughout the year, but those landings would be subject to regulatory approval, Reuters reported.
It is unclear if the Falcon 9 landing pause in the Bahamas stems from the recent reentry of SpaceX's Flight 8 Starship vehicle, which exploded and rained debris over parts of the Bahamas during a test launch on March 6.
SpaceX's Starship vehicle is a new reusable spacecraft that is different from the company's workhorse Falcon 9 rockets.

States bid to host a revamped NASA headquarters
April 18, 2025
More states are lining up in a bid to host NASA’s headquarters, but the prize they seek may turn out to be smaller than they expect.
On April 16, members of the Texas congressional delegation sent a letter to President Trump requesting that he move NASA’s headquarters from its current location in Washington to the Johnson Space Center in Houston.
“For NASA to return to its core mission of excellence in exploration, its headquarters should be located at a place where NASA’s most critical missions are and where transformational leadership from the ground up can be provided,” the letter, signed by 27 members, stated.
“We write to urge you to use this opportunity to reinvigorate our national space agency and move NASA’s headquarters from Washington, D.C. to the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, Texas.”
Texas is not alone in efforts to lure NASA’s headquarters.
Florida lawmakers have expressed an interest for months in moving the headquarters to the Kennedy Space Center, including a bill introduced in March directing NASA to move its headquarters to the center within a year of enactment.
Ohio officials are also lobbying for moving the headquarters to the Glenn Research Center in Cleveland.
The interest in NASA Headquarters is driven in part by the upcoming end of the lease of its current headquarters building in Washington, set to expire in 2028.
NASA started several months ago looking for alternative buildings, but remaining in the greater Washington area.
The new Trump administration and its quest to cut costs has led to new interest in moving the headquarters out of Washington entirely.
However, that may not mean moving the entire current headquarters, with a staff of about 2,500, to Florida, Ohio or Texas.
Agency sources say NASA is looking at ways to spread out functions currently at headquarters to various field centers.
“One of the executive orders requires us to look at our agency organization and all of its components and see if there’s some optimization or some efficiencies that might be gained by either combining or relocating to more cost-efficient areas,” Janet Petro, NASA’s acting administrator, said in an on-stage fireside chat at the Space Symposium April 8.
She said NASA was looking at how the agency is organized to see what could be moved from Washington. “We’re taking a look at where those functions could be relocated.”
Even if headquarters is reorganized, Petro envisioned that the agency would retain a presence in Washington.
“I would always envision that the office of the administrator would always be in D.C.,” she said, “along with some key functions like [legislative] affairs, maybe the general counsel, some communications staff, et cetera.
I think that would be beneficial to have that, as a minimum, in D.C.”
Any decision would be made after the expected confirmation of Jared Isaacman as NASA administrator.
She noted in a separate interview April 7 that she was preparing a “workforce optimization” plan that would include options for Isaacman to consider once confirmed by the Senate.
“In my mind,” she said at the Space Symposium fireside chat, “it would be a decision where Mr. Isaacman, our political stakeholders, the White House, they would all weigh in.
I believe it would be a decision made at that level some time in the future.”

China launches 6 classified experimental satellites with Long March 6A
April 19, 2025
China sent six experimental Shiyan series satellites into orbit late Friday Eastern, using its Long March 6A rocket launched from Taiyuan.
The Long March 6A rocket lifted off at 6:51 p.m. Eastern (2251 UTC) April 18 from Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, northern China.
The state-owned Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology (SAST) announced launch success, revealing the payloads to be Shiyan-27 (01-06).
SAST provided no images nor details of the satellites, instead stating that they are mainly used for space environment detection and related technical tests.
This general description is typical of the Shiyan series, which is considered by some Western analysts to be used for piloting new technologies, playing a role in the earlier stages of developing space systems.
This could be somewhat analogous to the U.S. military’s use of USA-designated satellites for classified technology demonstrations.
U.S. Space Force cataloged the satellites in 1,000 by 1,010-kilometer-altitude orbits inclined 99.7 degrees, while the upper stage was left in an 834 by 990 km orbit.
Many Shiyan satellites operate in low Earth or near-polar orbits, though a number have headed to geosynchronous orbits, including the possible inspector satellites Shiyan12-01 and 02. Shiyan-10 satellites, meanwhile, entered Molniya orbits.
The 50-meter-long, 530-metric-ton Long March 6A, developed by SAST, is the first and so far only Chinese launcher to bundle a liquid propellant core stage with solid propellant side boosters.
It is capable of launching 4,500 kilograms of payload to a 700-kilometer sun-synchronous orbit. It has a dedicated pad at Taiyuan spaceport.
The rocket has now flown 11 times, having had its debut flight in March 2022. All launches have been successful, though some of the upper stages disintegrated in orbit, creating debris.
The Long March 6A upper stage is one of the first Chinese kerosene-liquid oxygen upper stages.
SAST states that Friday’s launch was the first time the Long March 6A used “multi-satellite wall-mounted deployment.” indicating that satellites were mounted around a central load-bearing structure, rather than being stacked vertically.
This approach brought increased challenges in terms of satellite-rocket integration, according to SAST.
The launch was China’s 20th orbital launch attempt of 2025. It follows the launch of the classified TJS-17 satellite via a Long March 3B from Xichang, April 10.
Slingshot Aerospace has since detected a likely apogee kick motor near geostationary orbit, following a similar profile to the earlier TJS-15 launch.
China is also preparing to launch the Shenzhou-20 crewed mission via a Long March 2F rocket from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, northwest China, next week.
The six-month-long mission will be followed by Shenzhou-21 late in the year. Another major mission will see the launch of the Tianwen-2 near-Earth asteroid sample return and main belt comet rendezvous mission.
That mission is expected to launch from Xichang in May.

Yemeni forces shoot down another U.S. MQ-9 drone
Apr 19, 2025, 7:53 PM
Yemen’s Armed Forces have say they have downed two American MQ-9 drones over Sana’a, amid escalating confrontations with the United States and Israel during.
In a statement on Saturday, Yemen’s armed forces announced that the drone was intercepted using indigenously-developed air defense systems and missiles.
This brings the number of drones shot down this month to six and 21 since Yemen launched operations dubbed the “Battle of the Promised Victory and Holy Jihad.”
The continued airstrikes targeting civilians, their property, and public infrastructures will not break the will of the faithful, struggling Yemeni people, it noted.
The statement emphasized that the aggression against Yemen “will only lead to greater steadfastness and unwavering support for the oppressed Palestinian people in confronting the war crimes being perpetrated by the Zionist enemy in Gaza.
The U.S. drone activity in Yemeni airspace has increased in recent months, with some drones being on surveillance missions or targeting the country’s military sites, according to the Yemeni sources.
Meanwhile, Yemen’s Transport Minister Muhammad Ayyash Qahim denounced the U.S. airstrikes targeting the Ras Isa oil port in Hudaydah
He described the attacks on civilian infrastructure a futile attempt to undermine Yemen’s support for Gaza. He reiterated that Yemen will not stay silent amid civilian casualties and the destruction of critical facilities in the U.S. aggression.
Similarly, Hudaydah Governor Abdullah Atifi labeled the U.S. strikes on the Ras Isa oil port a war crime, affirming Yemen’s unwavering backing for Palestine.
Yemen’s oil minister also condemned the destruction of the Ras Isa port as a deliberate U.S. move to put pressure on the Yemeni people, saying that these crimes would not weaken Yemen’s resolve to stand with Gaza.
The U.S. airstrikes on Ras Isa late Thursday killed at least 74 people, including five medical personnel. Yemeni officials declared the attacks proof of the failure of U.S. strategies against Yemen’s resistance movement.

‘Greeting From World War II’ - Ukrainian Drone Blasts Russian Assault Armored Train
April 19, 2025, 2:24 pm
Ukrainian forces struck with kamikaze drones a Russian armored train involved in an attempted assault, according to the 152nd Separate Chasseurs Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
The brigade shared a video of the strike on Facebook on Saturday, April 19, captioned: “We haven’t shot down a locomotive yet.
But everything happens for the first time. The crew of the Asmodeus.”
Footage from the drone’s camera shows it approaching a heavily armored train, outfitted with protective plating similar to that seen on Russian barn-tanks, before flying under the locomotive and detonating.
Kyiv Post could not independently verify the time or location of the footage. The brigade did not specify where the train was hit or provide further details of the operation.
Based on the video, it appears Ukrainian forces used a Mavic drone equipped with an infrared camera to locate and track the target, followed by a kamikaze drone to carry out the strike.
A Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance officer, speaking to Kyiv Post on condition of anonymity, called the footage “truly unique.” He added that the train was likely operating close to the “zero” front line.
“This is a kind of greeting from World War II,” he said. “Previously, armored trains were used to conduct cannon fire.
But in today’s warfare, using a train like this is about as effective as using pack animals on the battlefield.”
The video has already begun circulating widely on Telegram.
Junior Sergeant Stanislav Bunyatov of the 24th Aidar Assault Battalion posted his reaction to the strike: “Have you seen an armored assault train in this war?
Then it’s time to look. The fa**ts used the railway to break through our defenses, but it didn’t work out - just a little bit.”
The Ukrainian military-themed Telegram channel “Gruz 200” also posted the footage, commenting: “We haven’t seen such a stupid move in a long time.
Without the ability to maneuver, the train was simply f***ed up by FPV drones.”
In recent days, Russia has ramped up its attacks along several fronts - particularly in the Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions, employing a new tactic involving large groups of infantry supported by motorcycles and buggies
On April 17, Ukrainian forces repelled a major Russian assault in the Pokrovsk sector of the Donetsk region, reportedly killing 200 soldiers and destroying a large amount of equipment.
Commander of Ukraine’s National Guard, Oleksandr Pivnenko, said troops from the 14th National Guard Brigade “Chervona Kalyna” fended off a significant mechanized attack involving armored vehicles, motorcycles, and approximately two companies of infantry.
He shared footage of the battle, captioning it: “A few more shots of the enemy’s ‘biker’ assault on the Pokrovsk sector!”
President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed during a Thursday briefing that Russia had prepared a major push near Pokrovsk, and praised Ukrainian troops for successfully holding the line.
Thanks to the combined efforts of the 14th and 117th Brigades, Ukrainian forces reportedly destroyed 115 Russian vehicles - including 96 motorcycles - and inflicted 200 Russian casualties, with 30 more wounded.

Trump threatens to quit peace talks as Putin launches drone strike
19 Apr 2025 15:58
U.S. President Donald Trump has reiterated Washington’s warning that it may withdraw from peace talks aimed at resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict if no immediate progress is made.
“Now if for some reason one of the two parties makes it very difficult, we’re just going to say, ‘you’re foolish, you’re fools, you’re horrible people, and we’re going to just take a pass,” Mr Trump told reporters at the White House on Friday, News.Az reports citing The Independent.
“But hopefully we won’t have to do that,” he added.
US secretary of state Marco Rubio also warned on Friday that the White House may move on unless there are signs of progress.
Their comments came hours after Ukraine announced it had signed a preliminary agreement on a minerals deal with the US and that a final accord could be reached by the end of next week.
Meanwhile, in the latest in a series of attacks, Russia launched eight missiles and 87 drones at Ukraine overnight into Saturday, causing damage in five regions across the country, the Ukrainian air force said.
Mr Zelensky also claimed that China is supplying weapons, including gunpowder and artillery, to Russia – accusations that China has dismissed.

Russian Drones Dropping Toxic Chemicals on Battlefield, Says Ukraine
April 19, 2025, 8:26 am
Russia is increasingly using drones to drop highly toxic chemicals on the battlefield, a practice that is a war crime, Ukraine’s intelligence agency (HUR) has said.
In a Telegram post, HUR wrote that Russian forces use drones to release so-called RG-Vo grenades, which are hand grenades containing a poisonous substance.
“Currently, on the front line, in particular in the Zaporizhzhia region [in central-eastern Ukraine] near the settlement of Shcherbaky, cases of the enemy using poison gas ammunition are increasingly being recorded,” HUR said.
On April 16, Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation reported that authorities had inspected a downed Iranian-designed Shahed drone that had been used by Russia, and identified a capsule with concentrated chlorobenzylidenemalononitrile (CS) gas.
The substance is a type of riot control agent banned under the Chemical Weapons Convention, of which Russia is a signatory.
However, the center noted that reports of Russian forces coating Shahed drones with poisonous substances are unconfirmed.
HUR said that CS gas can be deadly, adding that “there have already been deaths among the defenders of Ukraine.”
No third parties have yet been able to investigate these allegations against Russia.
Last year, the United States and United Kingdom accused Russian general Igor Kirillov of heading a unit partly responsible for using chemicals on the battlefield in Ukraine.
They said Russia was using a toxic choking agent called chloropicrin, which was first deployed in World War One.
London and Washington imposed sanctions on Russian individuals and entities linked to chemical weapons programs at the time.

This rare drone footage reveals 100-million-year-old creatures off Australia’s coast (scientists call it a “once in a lifetime” discovery)
19/04/2025
Drones have captured what scientists are calling a “once in a lifetime” discovery off Australia’s rugged coastline, revealing ancient creatures that have remained largely unchanged for millions of years.
This rare footage, taken by wildlife researchers using advanced aerial technology, offers an unprecedented glimpse into Australia’s living prehistoric world that few have witnessed before.
The ancient mariners still patrolling Australian waters
Australia’s waters harbor some of Earth’s oldest living species, with the recent drone footage capturing three endangered leatherback sea turtles gliding through crystal-clear waters.
These magnificent creatures have existed virtually unchanged for over 100 million years, swimming the oceans when dinosaurs still walked the earth.
“What we’re seeing is essentially a living fossil,” explains marine biologist Dr. Sarah Mitchell. “These leatherbacks represent an evolutionary line that has survived multiple mass extinctions.
With only around 60 documented sightings in Australian waters, capturing three on a single drone flight is extraordinary.”
The “Dinosaur Coast” revealing prehistoric secrets
In Western Australia’s remote Kimberley region, drone technology is revolutionizing paleontological research.
The rugged coastline, aptly nicknamed the “Dinosaur Coast,” contains some of the world’s largest and best-preserved dinosaur footprints dating back 130 million years.
Aerial surveying has recently documented massive sauropod footprints alongside smaller, bird-like theropod tracks imprinted in ancient mudflats.
Most exciting are prints belonging to dinosaur species previously undocumented in Australia, including relatives of Stegosaurus and Anchisaurus.
The drone footage has completely transformed our understanding of dinosaur populations in ancient Australia.
Areas we couldn’t safely access on foot are now revealing incredible details about these prehistoric ecosystems,” shares paleontologist Dr. James Cooper from the University of Queensland.
Where ancient worlds collide with modern adventure
For travelers seeking extraordinary experiences, the Kimberley region offers a unique opportunity to walk in the footsteps of dinosaurs.
Guided tours incorporate drone footage presentations and augmented reality to transport visitors back in time, creating a multidimensional experience that combines adventure with scientific discovery.
1/2
Aboriginal cultural guides add another layer to the experience, sharing Dreamtime stories that have preserved knowledge of these ancient creatures for thousands of years.
This intersection of indigenous heritage and natural history makes for a travel experience unlike any other on Earth, rivaling the otherworldly landscapes found in places like China’s Avatar mountains.
Thermal drones revealing elusive tree-dwelling ancients
Further north in Queensland’s Daintree Rainforest, infrared-equipped drones have captured rare footage of Bennett’s tree kangaroos, elusive marsupials that evolved from ground-dwelling ancestors and adapted to life in the canopy.
These shy creatures represent an evolutionary marvel – kangaroos that climbed into the trees and stayed there for millions of years.
Like the mysterious glowing waters of India’s bioluminescent beaches, these discoveries remind us that Earth still holds magnificent secrets waiting to be uncovered.
Practical tips for ancient Australia explorers
The Kimberley region remains wild and remote, requiring careful planning for visitors. The best time to visit is during the dry season (May-October), when dinosaur tracks are most accessible.
Tour operators in Broome offer specialized dinosaur coast expeditions that include drone demonstrations and interpretations from both scientific and indigenous perspectives.
Wildlife enthusiasts hoping to glimpse Australia’s living ancient creatures should consider coastal eco-tours in New South Wales during leatherback turtle migration seasons or guided rainforest experiences in the Daintree.
Visitors are often surprised by how emotional the experience becomes. When you stand beside a footprint made by a creature that walked here 130 million years ago, it creates a powerful connection to Earth’s deep history,” notes tour guide Emma Williams.
The cutting edge of ancient discovery
For those fascinated by rare and unusual wildlife like the world’s cutest unknown animals, Australia’s ancient creatures offer a similar thrill of discovery. Drone technology continues to reveal new findings, with researchers now exploring previously inaccessible coastal cliffs and terrain.
These technological advances are opening windows into Australia’s prehistoric past while simultaneously creating innovative travel experiences that blend education, adventure, and cultural understanding in ways that were impossible just a decade ago.
From pristine beaches rivaling the Philippines’ hidden sandbars to landscapes so strange they seem to turn creatures to stone, Australia’s ancient animal encounters provide a time-travel experience without leaving Earth.
The continent’s deep history is being revealed one drone flight at a time, inviting travelers to witness a living connection to our planet’s most distant past.

Objects Leaving Contrails Seen Streaking Across Parts Of New York State
April 18, 2025
Residents in portions of New York State are trying to identify several seen falling from the sky.
Descriptions of the incident from the residents make it sound like this could be the work of fighter jets. Or, was it the Lyrids meteor shower? Or, something else?
NASA had reported that the Lyrids meteor shower will peak from late evening April 21, until dawn April 22. However, the entire duration of the event is from April 17 to April 26.
The Lyrids don’t normally leave those long, glowing dust trains behind them as they fall through the Earth's atmosphere, but they can produce the occasional bright flash called a fireball, says NASA.
However, the objects that were seen in the before sundown, while it was still light out.
WIVT/WBGH reports that residents said they witnessed "multiple objects" that were seen falling out of the sky Thursday evening over Conklin, New York.
News 43 reports that "at least four separate objects were seen streaking downward through the setting sky".
Resident say that each individual object had its own contrail trailing behind them.
The objects were seen around d 7:30 PM Thursday. Sources say the Federal Aviation Administration was contacted.
Did A Meteor Explode Over New York State Back in 2019?
It was a quiet Sunday night near Saratoga Springs, when all of a sudden, at around 10:43 P.M., a loud explosion was heard.
Residents across the area reported the loud noise that shook houses, as the night sky reportedly lit up around them.
Some say the sky even took on a brief greenish glow.
The Saratoga County Sheriff's office says on their social media page that reports came in from Edinburg, Providence, Galway, Greenfield, Milton and Ballston Spa.
Local officials say no damage was reported. The National Grid reported that no transformers exploded. The Federal Aviation Administration said there were no issues with any nearby aircraft.
There was also no bad weather anywhere near the area as well, according to the National Weather Service.
Spectrum News says the Saratoga sheriff's office has also been in contact with the West Milton Naval Base and even the FBI, and there are still no answers.

Mystery as tourist finds alien-like creature which ‘looks like a condom’ on beach
Updated April 19, 2025 4:36pm
A holidaymaker’s early morning beach stroll turned into shock when he found an ‘alien-like’ creature lying on the sand.
The animal, which looks like a mix of a cobra tail, large intestine and a condom, was found by Kristoffer Young while he was visiting the Cala Laiya resort in Luzon, the Philippines, with his wife Gem.
He decided to go for a walk one morning while the tide was out before stumbling across the ‘alien-like creature’.
‘At first, I thought it was a plastic bag floating by the sea. But upon closer inspection, I was surprised because it was moving,’ Kristoffer said.
‘The body of the creature was shaped like a combination of a cobra tail, a large intestine and a condom.
‘It was like one of those sand-dwelling creatures from the movie Dune. The mouth had multiple hairy tentacle-ish features to it – almost resembling a tiny sea star.’
At one end of the animal, several tentacles emerge from what seems to be the head.
Mr Young, 32, said: ‘I was shocked and a bit disgusted because I didn’t expect to see something like that there.
‘But that transformed into amazement and awe, because the creature was indeed majestic. I was always curious about new creatures, but for this one, it was too alien for me to touch it.
‘I didn’t know back then if it was venomous or not, or if it bites or not, so I didn’t risk it.’
Kristoffer shared his footage on social media, and found he wasn’t the only one disgusted.
‘That’s called my worst nightmare,’ one person commented.
Another asked: ‘Did you find the UFO it travelled in?’
Others were more insightful, telling Kristoffer he had found a conspicuous sea cucumber.
Nicknamed the ‘reef janitor’, the species mainly feeds on dead plants and animals found on the seabed, which it drags into its mouth with its grasping tentacles.
For Kristoffer, from Manila, the encounter offered a glimpse of the abundant mysteries of the deep.
‘These things have always piqued my curiosity,’ he said.
‘It makes you think how many more mysterious creatures are down below.’

“I’m good with it,” Burchett says. “I'm never gonna be chairman of a committee. I don't kiss enough a**, and I don't raise enough money.”

Henry Kissinger & UFO Secrecy: The Dark Connection
Apr 17, 2025
Was Henry Kissinger overseeing a UFO crash retrieval program?
This episode lays out one of the most compelling cases yet. From Nazi tech recovery as a young army CIC member to Project Moon Dust to deep Harvard intelligence ties to the controversial MJ-12 documents (which likely contain half-truths), there is building evidence suggesting Kissinger may have played a hidden role in managing non-human technology.
We follow a trail that includes atomic testing, psychological warfare, and Cold War secrecy—ending with a government telegram from Kissinger himself, asking about “returned space objects.”
If true, this reshapes everything we thought we knew about the UFO cover-up.

THE BIONDI PROTOCOL (Newsreel Trailer) Revealing the Megachambers Under Giza
Apr 18, 2025
This short film aims to demonstrate the wide array of opinions about the new scans below the Khafre Pyramid at Giza, all coming from individuals, who may be right or wrong, but who are not experts in SAR Doppler Tomography.
There are only about 250 SAR specialists on Earth, and not one of them has challenged the methodology or results of the Khafre Project.
I learned this from Armando Mei, as I had the opportunity to interview him, as well as Filippo Biondi, who invented the new SAR innovation, which allows him to see down to 5 kilometers deep into the Earth at maximum.
This video was made by Frank Rogala (MortalsOfEarth.com) and Trevor Grassi ( / gizatology … / @trevorgrassi ) as an introduction and trailer to THE BIONDI PROTOCOL, coming soon to this channel!
This will be the full two hour film featuring my recent interview with Filippo Biondi and Armando Mei. They describe their new discovery below Giza in detail, and in English!
It is only their third English interview out so far, settling once and for all, many of the questions and critiques that have been posed about their scientific research and discoveries.
