It's not going to blow over. At least for them. Too many people getting the word out. Hollywood is a fascination that sticks with them.

But only for the fun and harmless stuff. When it get's twisted they go for the throat. There will not be much sympathy or many fans that will pay the big bucks to support them.

There are already local producers in city's that are putting together films with local actors with more wholesome fun and or spiritual stuff, stuff with a moral.

N. Korea to return US war remains soon: report

26 Jul 2018

Seoul (AFP) – North Korea will soon return the remains of some of the US soldiers killed in the Korean War, the South’s Yonhap news agency reported Thursday, starting a process agreed by leader Kim Jong Un and US President Donald Trump.

Repatriating the remains of US soldiers who perished during the 1950-53 Korean War was part of an agreement signed by Kim and Trump during their landmark summit in Singapore last month.

The first transfer will be made on Friday to mark the 65th anniversary of the signing of the armistice that ended the war, Yonhap reported, citing diplomatic sources.

The remains will be airlifted from the North’s Kalma Airport on the eastern coast to Osan Air Base, south of Seoul, beore being transferred to a forensic lab in Hawaii, it said.

A US military spokesman declined to comment on the report.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said last week the repatriations would begin shortly, but did not confirm media reports that the first transfers of some 50-55 sets of remains would take place on July 27.

North Korean and US military officials met last week at the border truce village of Panmunjom to discuss the repatriation.

11 House Republicans seek impeachment of DOJ’s Rosenstein

WASHINGTON (AP) — A group of 11 House conservatives introduced articles of impeachment against Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, the Justice Department official who oversees special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation.

The move came Wednesday after months of criticism aimed at the department — and the Russia investigation in particular — from Trump and his Republican allies in Congress. Trump has fumed about Mueller’s probe and repeatedly called it a “witch hunt,” a refrain echoed by some of the lawmakers. The impeachment effort is led by North Carolina Rep. Mark Meadows, who talks to Trump frequently and often defends him to his colleagues.

It is unclear whether there will be enough support in the party to pass the impeachment resolution, as Republican leaders have not signed on to the effort and are unlikely to back it.

Meadows, Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan and the other Republicans who introduced the resolution have criticized Rosenstein and Justice Department officials for not being responsive enough as House committees have requested documents related to the beginning of the Russia investigation and a closed investigation into Democrat Hillary Clinton’s emails.

The introduction does not trigger an immediate vote, but Meadows could make procedural moves on the House floor that could force a vote late this week or when the House returns in September from its upcoming recess. The House is scheduled to leave Thursday for the five-week recess.

The five articles charge Rosenstein of “high crimes and misdemeanors” for failing to produce information to the committees, even though the department has already provided lawmakers with more than 800,000 documents, and of signing off on what some Republicans say was improper surveillance of a Trump adviser.

The resolution also goes directly after Rosenstein for his role in the ongoing Mueller investigation, criticizing him for refusing to produce a memo that outlines the scope of that investigation and questioning whether the investigation was started on legitimate grounds. Mueller is investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election and whether Trump’s campaign was in any way involved.

It is highly unusual, if not unprecedented, for lawmakers to demand documents that are part of an ongoing criminal investigation.

In a statement, Meadows said Rosenstein’s conduct is “reprehensible.”

“It’s time to find a new deputy attorney general who is serious about accountability and transparency,” Meadows said.

It’s uncertain how many of Meadows’ fellow Republicans agree. Rosenstein, along with FBI Director Christopher Wray, faced dozens of angry Republicans at a House hearing last month. The lawmakers alleged bias at the FBI and suggested the department has conspired against Trump — but many could draw the line at impeachment.

“Impeachment is a punishment, it’s not a remedy,” House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Trey Gowdy said shortly before Meadows introduced the resolution. “If you are looking for documents, then you want compliance, and you want whatever moves you toward compliance.”

The impeachment resolution came about two hours after GOP lawmakers met with Justice Department officials about the documents. Meadows said after that meeting that there was still “frustration” with how Justice has handled the oversight requests.

Republican leaders, however, have said in recent weeks that they are satisfied with the Justice Department’s progress. Gowdy said after the meeting that he was pleased with the department’s efforts. House Speaker Paul Ryan has also said he is satisfied with progress on the document production.

Meadows heads the conservative Freedom Caucus and has sparred with Ryan on issues from immigration to federal spending. His open threat of triggering a vote on impeachment — which he can do if he follows a certain set of procedural rules — could help him win concessions on other contentious issues before the House.

Trump touts trade win in Illinois steel town as others lose

Steelworkers in Granite City, Illinois, threw a street party — complete with hot dogs, cold beer and a singer in red, white and blue — when U.S. Steel announced earlier this year it was bringing hundreds of laid-off employees back to work at the local mill.

On Thursday they’ll celebrate again, this time with President Donald Trump.

U.S. Steel credited Trump’s plan to impose tariffs on imported steel and aluminum when the company announced in March it was firing up a furnace at Granite City Works that had been idled for more than two years. Since then, Trump has pointed to the community east of St. Louis as an example of how his “America First” approach to trade will help U.S. workers — a case he’ll make again Thursday before a crowd of employees and local residents who say this steel town has come alive again.

“Our community is excited to have the president come, and we’re especially excited to see jobs coming back to Granite City,” said James Amos, the city’s economic development director. “To have the president of the United States visit your city feels like, maybe, icing on the cake.”

But not everyone is in a partying mood. Others in Illinois and the Midwest, from farmers to manufacturers and technology companies, warn a global trade war and retaliatory tariffs from countries such as China, Mexico and Canada are causing job losses. The new tariffs threaten more than $3.8 billion in Illinois exports, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce says, and major Illinois-based companies including Caterpillar and Boeing already have been negatively affected.

“While we’re happy Granite City has those jobs coming back, it’s a lot harder to see the jobs that are lost or not created in the rest of the state because of the tariffs,” said Illinois Chamber of Commerce President Todd Maisch. He described the administration’s policies as “really negative” for most of Illinois, the nation’s fifth-largest economy.

Richard Guebert, a farmer and president of the Illinois Farm Bureau, said he told Vice President Mike Pence during a meeting last week that there’s “a lot of angst” among farmers after several tough years and with another strong crop likely to lower prices this year. He worries particularly about whether young farmers will be able to keep going in a state where one of every four rows of soybeans is exported to China.

CNN's infamous Michael Cohen tape of Trump has zero useful information

Did you hear the audio recording of then-presidential candidate Donald Trump right before the 2016 election working out a payment that would keep a Playboy model quiet about an affair between the two?

Did you hear the audio recording of then-presidential candidate Donald Trump right before the 2016 election working out a payment that would keep a Playboy model quiet about an affair between the two?

Me neither. And neither did CNN, even though the network claims it has.

CNN late Tuesday aired what anchor Chris Cuomo called a “secret tape” in which Trump and his now-former lawyer Michael Cohen “discuss arrangements surrounding a payment to former Playboy Playmate Karen McDougal, that was made by a third party, David Pecker, as head of the National Enquirer.”

Good intentions without accountability won't help Iraq

by Peter Burns

| July 26, 2018 12:00 AM

After spending a week in Iraq’s Nineveh Plains meeting with local priests, victims of the Islamic State’s genocidal campaign, various Christian political parties, and refugee camp administrators, one thing has become clear to me: The complexity of the situation prevents the United States from being able to chopper in, deliver an enlarged cardboard aid check, take a photo-op, and walk away. This is assuming, of course, that our goal is to preserve ancient Christian and Yazidi communities that populate Northern Iraq, as opposed to simply burnishing our own sense of benevolence.

ROSIE O’DONNELL FACING PRISON

JULY 24, 2018

Rosie O’Donnell has spent the last few years obsessively trying to take President Donald Trump down. Now, she may have just slipped up and done something that could put her in prison, where she belongs.

“Rosie O’Donnell made illegally over-sized campaign donations to at least five Democratic federal candidates, according to a Post analysis of campaign filings,” the New York Postreported. “The liberal comedian has regularly broken Federal Election Commission rules limiting the total any one person can give to an individual candidate at $2,700 per election. The limit applies separately to primaries, runoffs and general elections.”

“Filings show O’Donnell gave a combined $5,400 in contributions over the limit to the five candidates and used five different New York addresses and four variations of her name. Wow, that sure appears to be a straight case of trying to “game the system,” the Post continued.

Campaign filings show that O’Donnell donated $2,950 to California Rep. Adam Schiff, a 17-year veteran of the House, for his primary. She also donated $4,200 to Lauren Underwood, an Illinois congressional candidate, for her primary as well as $3,450 to Omar Vaid, a little-known congressional candidate in Staten Island and Brooklyn.

“My anxiety is quelled by donating to those opposing Trump [and] his agenda — especially at night — when most of these were placed,” O’Donnell said when confronted with what she has done.

It should be noted that conservative commentator Dinesh D’Souza was sentenced to eight months in prison and a $30,000 fine for violating campaign finance laws.

We can only hope that Rosie ends up being locked up over this.

Trump team preparing economic plan as part of Mideast peace proposal: official

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A long-awaited Middle East peace plan from the Trump administration will include what the White House is calling a robust economic plan to help resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, an official has said.

U.S. President Donald Trump’s envoys are also working on the most detailed set of proposals to date for the overall plan, the White House official said in a briefing with reporters on Monday.

The plan thus far has no release date. Trump had hoped to reveal it early this year but his decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and moving the embassy there, reversing decades of U.S. policy, inflamed tensions in the region.

Emoluments case alleging Trump violated Constitution can proceed: U.S. judge (Reuters) - A federal judge on Wednesday rejected President Donald Trump’s bid to dismiss a lawsuit accusing him of unconstitutionally accepting gifts from foreign and state governments through his Washington hotel while occupying the White House.

U.S. District Judge Peter Messitte’s decision clears the way for the attorneys general of Maryland and the District of Columbia, who brought the case, to pursue interviews with Trump Organization employees and review financial records to learn if the president broke the law.

The lawsuit accused Trump of violating the Constitution’s “emoluments” clauses, which bar federal officials from accepting gifts from foreign governments without congressional approval, and the president from receiving gifts from states. They are designed to thwart corruption and improper influence.

“It’s an historic decision,” Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh said in an interview. “There has never been another president who has tested the emoluments clause. This is the first time we have had a president who has walked up to and, in our view, walked way over the line.”

Under fire in Congress, Pompeo defends Trump's Putin summit

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Wednesday vigorously defended President Donald Trump’s foreign policy actions as senators from both parties denounced Trump’s behavior, particularly at his recent summit with Russia’s Vladimir Putin.

Pompeo faced tough questioning from Democrats and Republicans during testimony before the Senator Foreign Relations Committee about Trump’s failure to hold the Russian president accountable for Moscow’s meddling in the 2016 U.S. election at their meeting in Helsinki last week.

“I have tremendous faith in you, I think you’re a patriot … but it’s the president’s actions that create tremendous distrust in our nation,” the committee’s Republican chairman, Bob Corker, told Pompeo.
