>>22941635 Marco Rubio to close 132 agency offices inside State Department; 604 agencies to remain openPN

Complaint of board rules and standards being breeched

Bakers, Board owner, autists and anons,Can any of you explain how to fuck this post was even possible, this post has 34 freakin long paragraphs, the most anons have been able to post is about 11 to 13, paragraphs? How and why how iis this even allowed? The only way I can figure it was done, is the baker, helper or anon, stopped the limit on length for the post, and then notabled it by bots collecting. I had to take 8 pics on this one post to include it all. What most anons do if the whole thing doesn’t fit, it’s broken up in sections, like 1/3, 2/3, 3/3.

The Rubio and SOS article was notabled 4-6 times yesterday at least, and then again at night.

Are their different rules for night shift baker or anons, I don’t think so. I’ve noticed on nightshift only, not every night, but another weird situation. At times there are multiple posts with the title of the article and linksonly, with no content; and many times, notabled. Look at yesterday mornings notables, 6 or 7 am if you don’t believe me. Previously board and anons standards, at least the notable posts had 2-3 paragraphs of the article for content and why it’s important. It’s a fucking waste of time to force anons to go off the board to read it.

Maybe the baker or anon, is sending out AI or a bot to collect article titles and links only to get notables? Maybe someone just wants to speed up the nightshift, I don’t really know but it’s pretty annoying.

This used to be a Research Board, can we freaking get back to that? At this point it’s just an aggregation of news, not even news, really just links and titles. There are still anons that want to do research. Can we get back to prior standards?

See below, this has been stated before, titles are not necessarily the context of the article, that’s why so many titles of news have lies or exaggerations in them. Thats why it’s says to “to rope people in”;

Picking the perfect title:

David Ogilvy once said that the headline is the most important part of any article. It determineswhether your reader will be roped into the rest of your piece or not.

He was right. The headline is the first meeting the reader has with an article; it is what jumps at the reader and shortly informs them what the article is about. If the headline does not peak the reader’s interest, they will not even bother with the rest of the article. Here are some tips on picking the perfect title.

Go ahead, start your bitching and criticizing, I’m done with my rantHave a great day!

>>22943095 ICYMI: The Stage Is Being Set How The Insurrection Act and Article II May Come Into Play SoonPN

The insurrectionists are in the courts including the Supreme Court and Congress, most of them engaged in the 2020 stolen election. There were only a 100 congress and senate members that fought to stop the approval of Joe Bidan. That was a real insurrection in the House, not the protestors.

Even the Supreme Court has taken off their masks of justice, the entire government are trying to make President Trump fail and take his article II powers. Essentially they are preventing him from saving America. To Delay is to Deny, that is their goal. And the fucking SC won’t even correct the judges and have them stop, but they are engaging in the same plot.

Here’s How Much The Federal Government Is Spending To Make Nurses Less White

Leif Le MahieuApr 23, 2025

WTF, they are stil doing it

The Department of Health and Human Services will hand out over $20 million in “diversity” grants this year aimed at increasing the number of minority nurses, even as the Trump administration has sought to crack down on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The purpose of the initiative, known as the Nursing Workforce Diversity (NWP) Program, is to “increase nursing education opportunities for individuals who are from disadvantaged backgrounds (including racial and ethnic minorities underrepresented among registered nurses).” It is administered by the Health Resources and Services Administration, an agency of HHS, and has distributed nearly $200 million in grants since 2008.

Applications for the 2025 iteration closed last month, and the Health Resources and Services Administration estimates that it will shell out over $22 million on the program in July when the funds are set to be awarded. The program’s Notice of Funding lays out the purposes of the program, which include increasing racial minorities enrolled in nursing programs and increasing the number of minorities who receive “support” to stay in nursing programs.

The notice refers to a glossary from the Bureau of Health Workforce to define “underrepresented” racial and ethnic minorities. This definition excludes both whites and Asians, and only includes American Indians or Alaska Natives, black or African Americans, Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islanders, and Hispanics.

According to the Health Resources and Services Administration, 76% of the 2,033 students who were trained under the program from the 2022-2024 school year “identified” as an underrepresented minority, meaning that they were neither white nor Asian.

Do No Harm, an organization that seeks to rid the medical field of politics, told The Daily Wire that the program incentivizes nursing schools to engage in racial discrimination and is based on faulty medical assumptions. The organization released a report on Wednesday highlighting the program.

“The nursing workforce diversity program, unfortunately, is really looking at people based on immutable characteristics,” Do No Harm’s Medical Director, Dr. Kurt Miceli, told The Daily Wire. “I think that when you have grants that incentivize a discriminatory program to look at things other than merit, you create a system that’s not only discriminatory, but also promotes a lower level of care that’s provided, a lower quality of care.”

Miceli said he was encouraged by many of the steps already taken by the Trump administration to crack down on DEI, and asked them to end the nursing program. In January, President Donald Trump signed an executive order seeking to eliminate DEI from the government and calling for “equity” related grants to be eliminated….

Vance’s peace call on Ukraine not an ultimatum – Kremlin

Moscow appreciates the US efforts to mediate an end to the hostilities, spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said

Moscow does not view US Vice President J.D. Vance’s call for Russia and Ukraine to accept a Washington-formulated truce as an ultimatum, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.

On Wednesday, Vance said that President Donald Trump’s administration had presented a “very explicit proposal” to the principal parties in the Ukraine conflict, stating, “It’s time for them to either say yes or for the United States to walk away from this process.” During a press conference the same day, Peskov dismissed a journalist’s characterization of Vance’s comments as an ultimatum.

“The US continues its mediation efforts, and we certainly welcome them,” he said. “Nuanced discussions of proposals for a resolution are essential to bridge differences.”

The Trump administration awaits responses from Ukraine and the European NATO members supporting Kiev about a roadmap toward a compromise peace deal that was shared with them last week. Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky has already cast doubt on the feasibility of the proposal by publicly dismissing some of the suggestions reportedly made by US officials.

The American proposals that have been detailed in media reports include the formal recognition of Moscow’s sovereignty over Crimea, the former Ukrainian region that voted to join Russia after the 2014 Western-backed armed coup in Kiev. On Tuesday, Zelensky reiterated that his government will never agree to that.

Russian officials have previously warned thatZelensky, whose presidential term expired last year, could sabotage any serious attempts to de-escalate the conflict, contending that his self-interest compels him to continue the hostilities “to the last Ukrainian.”

Putin’s gift to Trump revealed

Nikas Safronov’s portrait of the US leader, released by CNN, shows him wounded but defiant after facing an assassination attempt

CNN has released an image of the portrait gifted to Donald Trump by Russian President Vladimir Putin last month, depicting the moment when the US leader raised his fist after surviving an assassination attempt in July 2024.

The portrait was handed on to Trump by Steve Witkoff, the US president’s Middle East envoy and a key figure in the Ukraine settlement process, who received it from Putin during talks in Russia. At the time, Witkoff described the artwork as “a beautiful portrait” by a “leading Russian artist.” He added that Trump was “clearly touched by it,” but refrained from sharing other details.

The Kremlin later confirmed that Putin had given Trump an “absolutely personal gift,” but also declined to comment further.

On Tuesday, however, renowned Russian artist Nikas Safronov, who has already painted dozens of world leaders, showed an image of the portrait to CNN. The artwork shows Trump with a bloodied ear and a raised fist while holding his signature red “Make America Great Again” cap. He is set against a backdrop featuring the Statue of Liberty, the New York City coastline, and the US flag.

According to Safronov, the elements are intended to symbolize Trump’s resilience. “It was important to me to show the blood, the scar and his bravery during the attempt on his life.He didn’t break down or become afraid, but raised his arm to show he is one with America and will bring back what it deserves,” he told CNN.

Safronov said he was initially approached by several individuals who asked him to paint Trump “as I see him.” He later suspected the commission was from the Kremlin and chose not to charge for the painting.

Reflecting on the piece, he told TASS that “this is not just a classic portrait, but rather a historical moment that I tried to capture on canvasin all its colors, to give more emotions.”Safronov also described the portrait as invaluable amid the current tensions between the West and Russia. “I’m happy that art could be part of the peace process,” he added.

Putin gifted Trump the portrait as Russia and the US engage in talks on restoring bilateral ties and resolving the Ukraine conflict. While both sides have touted the engagement as productive, the Kremlin has cautioned against expecting any quick breakthroughs when it comes to ending the hostilities.

World militaries learning from Russia – Putin

The Ukraine conflict has been a valuable source of battlefield experience, the president has said

All the world’s armies are closely examining Russia’s tactics and technology used in the Ukraine conflict, President Vladimir Putin has said.Moscow should build on its successes in the military-industrial sphere, he stressed.

Speaking at a meeting of the country’s Military-Industrial Commission on Wednesday, Putin said Russia’s battlefield experience is attracting unprecedented global attention. “Our special military operation – when it comes both to tactics and weapon development –is being studied by all armies of the world, top arms manufacturers, and tech firms.”

Russia “must stay one step ahead,” he said.

Putin also expressed his gratitude to the employees of the enterprises that serve as the backbone of Russia’s military efforts, noting thatthe industry faces even more ambitious challenges this year than in 2024.

While Russian forces had received over 1.5 million drones and more than 4,000 armored vehicles in 2024,the army is still suffering from a shortfall in FPV (first-person view) drones, which have become one of the key assets in the Ukraine conflict, the president noted.

He also stressed that Russia should prioritize the development of unmanned boats and robots, as well as combat lasers, noting that the country has made some progress in these areas.

A 2024 US Army War College report outlined several key takeaways from the Ukraine conflict, including the importance of electronic warfare and the challenges posed by a transparent battlefield due to ubiquitous surveillance.According to media reports, China is also taking note, with a focus on deploying swarms of low-cost drones and creating AI-driven coordination systems.

Meanwhile, as the fighting in Ukraine rages on,Russia has captured large quantities of Western-supplied equipment– including tanks, armored vehicles, portable missile systems, and NATO-standard communications systems – which it isanalyzing to extract technological insightsand improve its own battlefield capabilities.

Russian envoy threatened in Germany over Victory Day celebrations

The authorities have promised to enforce a ban on Moscow’s diplomats attending WWII commemorations

The German authorities havewarned Russian Ambassador Sergey Nechayev that he could be expelled from eventsmarking the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany in World War II.

The controversy erupted ahead of the May 9 celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory Day, one of Russia’s most revered holidays. On Monday, Nechayev and the Belarusian ambassador appeared at the Seelow Heights Memorial in Brandenburg around 50 miles (80km) east of Berlin to lay a wreath in honor of the fallen Soviet soldiers.

However, Professor Axel Drecoll, the director of the state-linked Brandenburg Memorials Foundation, has vehemently opposed Russia’s participation in these events, issuing a veiled threat to obstruct access or even remove the ambassador from the premises if he continues to visit memorial sites without permission.

”We have banned the Russian Embassy from all anniversaries since the attack on Ukraine. If the ambassador comes anyway, we will enforce our house rules – in close coordination with security forces,” he said, as quoted by Bild.

According to the tabloid, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock and Brandenburg’s minister-president, Dietmar Woidke, have expressed their intentions to prevent these uninvited appearances in the future. The Federal Foreign Office earlier advised all organizers against allowing Russian and Belarusian representatives to take part in WWII commemorations.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has criticized Germany’s stance, with spokeswoman Maria Zakharova accusing the German Foreign Ministry of “unmasking itself to reveal the ugliness of Russophobia and the hallmarks of Nazism.”

Nechayev has defied this policy, telling the German Press Agency, “We do not need a special invitation to honor the memory of the Soviet liberators and the victims of Nazism in publicly accessible places and to solemnly celebrate Victory Day.”

On Wednesday, the envoy and diplomats from several former Soviet republics laid wreaths at a Soviet military cemetery in Potsdam without facing any opposition.Nechayev notedthat these events are attended by German citizens who are grateful for the liberation from the Nazi regime.“I am very glad that the German public, in spite of the well-known bans, remembers the heroic deeds of the Red Army and maintains the correct culture of remembrance,” he said, as quoted by TASS.

Fully import-substituted Russian Superjet makes first test flight (VIDEO)

The program to replace all foreign systemson the aircraft is nearing completion, state-owned corporation Rostec has said

The latest prototype of Russia’s new SJ-100 Superjet airliner, built entirely from domestically produced components, has successfully completed its first test flight, state-owned defense conglomerate Rostec has announced.

The program toreplace all Western-made parts on the regional passenger aircraft was launched in response to the sweeping sanctions imposed Russia’s aviation industry by the US and EUafter the escalation of the Ukraine conflict in 2022.

The third prototype of the Superjet took to the skies in the city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur in Russia’s Far East, Rostec said in a statement on Wednesday.

During the test, the fully import-substituted plane demonstrated good controllability and stability in the air, the statement read. All Russian-made systems on the aircraft operated consistently, it added.

According to Rostec, the 40-minute flight took place at an altitude of up to 3,000 meters. The plane, equipped with Russian PD-8 engines developed by the United Engine Corporation, reached a speed of up to 500kph.

“The program of import substitution in relation to the Superjet aircraft has entered the home stretch. The Rostec conglomerate has done a massive job.About 40 foreign systems and units have been replaced on the airliner, including the most important component – the engines,”Vladimir Artyakov, Rostec’s first deputy general director, said.

The first prototype of the SJ-100, mostly built with domestically produced components and equipped with Russian-French SaM146 engines, began testing in 2024. This March, a version of the plane with Russian PD-8 engines got off the ground.

United Engine Corporation CEO Vadim Badekha called the Superjettest flight “a historical event… that will become an important step towards strengthening the technological independenceof our country and make a significant contribution to the development of the domestic aircraft manufacturing industry.”

According to Badekha, certification tests of the Superjet are expected to be completed by the end of the year, meaning deliveries of the aircraft to Russian carriers could begin in 2026.

Trump axes Biden-era post set up to probe ‘Russian war crimes’

The interagency position was designed to facilitate the prosecution of alleged crimes related to the Ukraine conflict

The administration of US President Donald Trump hasreportedly eliminated a positionwithin the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) that wasresponsible for sharing evidence of alleged Russian war crimes.

Mandated by a bipartisan bill passed in 2022 in response to the escalation of the Ukraine conflict, the Intelligence Community Coordinator for Russia Atrocities Accountability Act (ICCRAA)was enacted as part of the2023 Intelligence Authorization Act.(our Congress members are stupid)

According to anonymous sources cited by the Washington Post on Tuesday, both the ICCRAA and the interagency working group it led have been terminated.

Previous reports indicated thatthe Trump administration had withdrawn from collaboration with an EU-led initiativeaimed at investigating Russian nationals in connection with the Ukraine conflict, halted a Justice Department program for training Ukrainian prosecutors on handling these cases, andclosed an inquiry into Kiev’s allegations that the Russian authorities kidnapped Ukrainian children.

Two major priorities of the Trump agenda include slashing government spending on programs deemed unnecessary and concluding the Ukraine conflict.

The efforts to resolve the conflict reportedly reached a critical juncture this week, withWashington anticipating reactions from Kiev and European NATO membersregarding its proposed compromise ceasefire deal before presenting it to Moscow. Secretary of State Marco Rubio cautioned last week that the US could “move on” to other issues if the negotiations stall.

NeitherRubionor Trump’s special envoy,Steve Witkoff, who outlined the ideas last week at a gathering in Paris, will attend this week’s discussions with Ukrainian officials in London, according to Axios. However, Witkoff is expected to travel to Moscow for follow-up talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Reports indicate that the US is proposing formal recognition of Russian sovereignty over the former Ukrainian region of Crimea, which voted to join Russia following the 2014 Western-backed coup in Kiev. Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky has rejected this, reiterating on Tuesday that Kiev’s claim to the peninsula is non-negotiable.

(If Ukraine refuses to agree to this offer, the U.S. withdraws completely from Ukraine, including people and equipment. They will be forced to agree or they are totally fucked. How about the U.S. investigate the war crimes of Ukraine, Zelensky and others? How on earth can the U.S. prosecute Russia? Another dumb Bidan idea.)

JUST IN: President Trump Announces Lawsuit Against Top DNC Law Firm Linked to Crooked Hillary Clinton and Bogus Russia Dossier

by Cullen Linebarger Apr. 23, 2025 10:30

President Trump is raising the stakes in his ongoing feud with one of thebiggest DNC law firms in the country.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Trump stripped security clearances of the employees at Perkins Coie back in March. Recall that Crooked Hillary Clinton and Perkins Coie paid more than $1 million to hire an oppo research firm, Fusion GPS, to amplify the bogus Trump-Russia dossier during the 2016 election.

Former British spy Christopher Steele compiled over a dozen memos falsely claiming the Russians had blackmail on Trump and that his associates were conspiring with the Kremlin to win the 2016 election.

But Judge Beryl Howell, an Obama appointee, blocked</>part of Trump’s executive order barring employees from Perkins Coie from entering federal buildings.

Instead, she granted the DNC law firm’s request for a TRO for part of Trump’s executive order and said the president violated the law firm’s due process.

The Trump DOJ has now moved to disqualifyHowell from the Perkins Coie case last month for repeatedly demonstrating “partiality against and animus towards the president.”

Trump has announced on Truth Social that he is taking thenext step and suing Perkins and Coie for “egregious and unlawful acts.” In his post, he also cited the conduct of a firm member.

Trump did not elaborate on where or when he would file the lawsuit.

“I’m suing the law firm of Perkins Coie for their egregious and unlawful acts, in particular the conduct of a specific member of this firm, only to find out that the Judge assigned to this case is Beryl Howell, an Obama appointment, and a highly biased and unfair disaster,” Trump wrote. “She ruled against me in the past, in a shocking display of sick judicial temperament, on a case that ended up working out very well for me, on appeal.

“Her ruling was so pathologically bad that it became the “talk of the town.” I could have a 100% perfect case and she would angrily rule against me,” he added. “It’s called Trump Derangement Syndrome, and she’s got a bad case of it. To put it nicely, Beryl Howell is an unmitigated train wreck.”

“NO JUSTICE!!!”

President Trump Provides Update on Epstein File Release (VIDEO)1/2

by Jim Hᴏft Apr. 23, 2025 9:00 am

During a swearing-in ceremony for Paul Atkins as the new chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, President Donald Trump was asked point-blank about the long-awaited release of documents tied to Jeffrey Epstein.

A reporter asked, “When can we expect the Epstein documents to be released?”

Trump replied, “Which documents?”

“The Epstein files,” the reporter clarified.

President Trump responded calmly but pointedly: “I don’t know. I’ll speak to the attorney general about that. I really don’t know.”

While Trump didn’t give a definitive timeline, he reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to radical transparency, pointing to the full release of documents related to the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr.—releases that, unlike past administrations, were unredacted and unfiltered.

Trump: “I know that we’ve done the RFK, the Kennedy. Martin Luther King is out there very shortly, so we’ll find out. We’ve really announced we’re doing them in full transparency. When we did JFK, people were saying, “Oh, maybe it wasn’t all”—it was all. People actually went up to the office, and they looked at some things that were not really easily available, and they were amazed that we gave it all. I don’t know if it solved any problems for people; people still have questions one way or the other. But 100% of all of these documents are being delivered.”

WATCH:

Despite Trump’s reassurances, a growing number of conservatives are expressing serious doubts that the Epstein client list will ever see the light of day—especially under the leadership of Attorney General Pam Bondi.

Bondi is now facing backlash from the Republican base for what they view as inaction and distraction. This sentiment is rapidly gaining traction among MAGA supporters who feel Bondi’s public appearances have started to outpace her actual results.

According to Rolling Stone, “Media Matters for America, a nonprofit that tracks right-wing media, found that Bondi has appeared on weekday Fox News programs 11 times from when she took over as attorney general on February 5 through last week — and she’s made at least three more appearances since then. The number doesn’t include weekend appearances or hits on other networks (including Fox Business), and so it only represents a portion of the time she’s spent in front of a camera…” (77 times this far)

On February 21, Bondi announces on Fox Newsthat she is actively reviewing Epstein-related documents, stating, “It’s sitting on my deskright now to review.” She confirms this is under President Trump’s directive, alongside reviews of JFK and MLK files.

When asked about major scandals, she responds cautiously, “Not yet.” This marks the initial public promise of transparency regarding the Epstein files.

In a separate interview with conservative host Benny Johnson, Bondi reiterates that Trump’s directive will be followed, hinting at “a lot of documents” but avoiding specifics.

On Feb. 27, the Justice Department releases “The Epstein Files: Phase One,” approximately 200 pages of documents, including flight logs, a redacted contact book, and a victim list.

The release is heavily criticized as a “colossal disappointment” due to extensive redactions and lack of new information. Bondi had hyped the release the previous night on Fox News with Jesse Watters, promising “flight logs, names, and a lot of information.”

Bondi reveals that she learned from a source that the FBI’s Southern District of New York (SDNY) field office is withholding “thousands of pages” of Epstein-related documents.

She wrote to FBI Director Kash Patel demanding the “full and complete” Epstein files by 8:00 AM on February 28, 2025, and ordered an investigation into why her initial request was not fully met.

On March 2, on Fox News’ Life, Liberty & Levin with Mark Levin, Bondi provides an update, claiming she was misled by the FBI, which assured her only 120 pages of Epstein files existed.

On March 4, in an interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News, Bondi announced that the FBI received “thousands of pages” of Epstein documents from the SDNY on February 28, following her deadline.

She assigns Kash Patel to investigate why these were withheld and to prepare a detailed report. Bondi stresses transparency, stating, “America has the right to know,” and notes that the Biden administration previously “sat on these documents.”

She clarifies that redactions will be limited to protecting victims’ identities and grand jury information, promising to release as much as possible.

On March 15, during an interview with Maria Bartiromo, Bondi addresses growing impatience among MAGA supporters over the lack of charges against Epstein’s associates.

She confirms critical information was withheld and vows to uncover the truth, stating, “They can try to hide documents from us, but they can’t. It might take a little longer, but we will find them, and we will release them to the American people.”

On April 8, conservative watchdog Judicial Watch filed a lawsuit against the DOJ for allegedly withholding critical records related to Epstein’s clients and associates, citing violations of the Freedom of Information Act.

(Is Bondi stopping Kash and Dan from releasing material? That wouldn’t surprise me. Bondi seems to be media hog, and both Glen Beck and Bannon don’t trust her, and they don’t understand why Kash is holding info up either. Personally I’ve never thought she was great, she just talks a lot.)

How could Bondi ever believe there were only a 120 pages, that just sounds like lie. And she was misled? That just sounds stupid.Did she ever have any interactions with Epstein when he lived in Florida? She seems to be covering up something! She was AG when he was arrested I think.

Trump gives Zelensky dire warning on Russia-Ukraine war: Accept peace or risk ‘losing the whole country’

By Published April 23, 2025, 12:19 p.m. ET

President Trump issued a stark warning to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday, saying Kyiv’s leader was in a “dire” situation and “can have Peace or, he can fight for another three years before losing the whole Country.”

Trump, 78, wasresponding to Zelensky telling reporters Tuesday that “Ukraine will not legally recognize the [Russian] occupation of Crimea” — a key part of a US-proposed peace plan under discussion in London Wednesday.

“This statement is very harmful to the Peace Negotiations with Russia in that Crimea was lost years ago under the auspices of President Barack Hussein Obama, and is not even a point of discussion,” the president seethed on Truth Social. Nobody is asking Zelenskyy to recognize Crimea as Russian Territory but, if he wants Crimea, why didn’t they fight for it eleven years ago when it was handed over to Russia without a shot being fired?”

“It’s inflammatory statements like Zelenskyy’s that makes it so difficult to settle this War,” Trump went on. “He has nothing to boast about!”

Trump again refrained in the message from criticizing Russian President Vladimir Putin over the lack of progress on a peace agreement, but did reference a notorious Feb. 28 shouting match in the Oval Office between himself, Zelensky and Vice President JD Vance

“I have nothing to do with Russia, but have much to do with wanting to save, on average, five thousand Russian and Ukrainian soldiers a week, who are dying for no reason whatsoever,” the wrote. “The statement made by Zelenskyy today will do nothing but prolong the ‘killing field,’ and nobody wants that! We are very close to a Deal, but the man with ‘no cards to play’ should now, finally, GET IT DONE.”

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.

Washington angered by Zelensky’s response to Trump peace plan – WaPo

The Ukrainian leader has reportedly frustrated the White House with his public dismissal of the US roadmap towards peace with Russia

US officials are angered by Vladimir Zelensky’s public dismissal of an American proposal to make territorial concessions to Russia in exchange for a peace deal in the Ukraine conflict, according to the Washington Post.

In public comments on Tuesday,Zelensky dismissed options that the administration of US President Donald Trump reportedly presentedat high-level discussions in Paris last Thursday, which they believe could facilitate a peace agreement. One such proposal reportedly involved formal recognition of Crimea as Russian territory.

”[Crimea] is our territory, the territory of the people of Ukraine. We have nothing to talk about on this topic – it is outside our Constitution,” Zelensky stated.

According to the Post, citing an anonymous official briefed on the situation, there is “anger in Washington over [Kiev’s] reluctance to accept proposalsto cede territory to Russia,” andthat Ukraine prefers “to discuss a complete ceasefire first and everything else later.”(they only want a ceasefire to re-arm and plan to fight again, everyone knows that, he did it once before at the beginning and then attacked Russia)

A follow-up meeting to the Paris talks between European and US officials had been scheduled for London on Wednesday, although it was abruptly downgraded when US Secretary of State Marco Rubio opted not to attend. Foreign ministers from European NATO members – including France and Germany – who were also due to gather in London followed Rubio's lead and skipped the event.

Zelensky’s chief of staff,Andrey Yermak, who heads the Ukrainian delegation, stated that he and Ukrainian defense and foreign ministerswould “discuss ways to achieve a full and unconditional ceasefire” with Western officials.

Rubio had previously expressed hope that “substantive and good technical meetings” in London would pave the way for his rescheduled visit to the British capital “in the coming months.”Senior US officials have warned they will abandon efforts to negotiate a compromise truce between Ukraine and Russia if either side attempts to obstruct their initiatives.

The EU and the UK are committed to continuing military support for Ukraine and are urging the US not to distance itself from the crisis, contrary to Trump’s announced intention. British and French leaders are reportedly willing to support territorial concessions by Ukraine, provided Western security guarantees are offered in return. Moscow has made it clear that it will not accept the presence of troops from NATO countries in Ukraine, a proposal championed by Paris and London. (The US is never going to fund or be involved in “security guarantees)

French veterans demand disclosure on Ukraine involvement

A group of retired officers, including over two dozen generals, has urged Parliament to debate troop presence and lethal aid for Kiev

A group of high-ranking French veterans has calledfor increased oversightof the country’s military involvement in Ukraine.

In a letter sent to the heads of both houses of Parliament, the former officers urged lawmakers tohold a formal debateon weapons supplies and the continued presence of French troops bolstering Kiev’s war efforts.

The letter, titled the ‘Citizen Resolution’, was published earlier this week on Place d’Armes, a platform for current and former service members to express views on national policy. It included a public call for citizens to sign the resolution in support.

The authors argued thatFrance’s military involvement in Ukraine without a parliamentary mandate, and arms deliveries without public debate, violate the French Constitution and Criminal Code. They claimed that no clear communication has been made to Parliament about the possible presence of French troops in Ukraine since 2022,despite the legal obligation to inform lawmakers of any “military intervention.”

The letter has urged the parliament to publish “all information” about troop presence in the Journal Officiel, the country’s official gazette, and to “organize a debate with a vote on the continuation of this intervention” within 15 days of receiving the letter.

The document also noted that theFrench-Ukrainian security pact signed last year– which included €3 billion in aid and multi-year military support –has not been ratified by Parliament, despite the Constitution requiring such ratification for treaties having major financial implications for the state.

“The lack of regular parliamentary ratification raises the question of the legalityof the supply of weapons from the French army reserves to Ukraine for useagainst Russia, with which our country is not at war,” the letter states.

The letter also highlighted President Emmanuel Macron’s recent remarks about potentiallydeploying troops to Ukraineandsharing nuclear capabilities with European partners. The authors argued that such decisions require parliamentary debate to ensure legitimacy.

Commenting on the letter, the head of the Place d’Armes association, Jean-Pierre Fabre-Bernadac, told Sud Radio it reflects heightened public concern about the country’s involvement in Ukraine.

“Is it a fable? Is there a reality of French troops on Ukrainian soil? This will be clarified by the National Assembly and the Senate,” he said. “The army is at the service of the nation. It is not at the service of a man or a regime.” He noted that his association did not write the text but that it was instead prepared by military professionals, including 26 former army generals.

The heads of the Senate and National Assembly have not yet publicly responded to the letter, while the mainstream French media has largely been quiet about its existence. However, the document has been signed by over 14,000 people since its release.

Despite numerous reports of Western troops in Ukraine, Kiev’s backers have avoided confirming any official deployments. Russia has repeatedly opposed the presence of Western forces under any pretext in the combat zone, warning that such a move would be treated as direct involvement in the conflict.

EU refusing to lift Russia sanctions for peace – Reuters

The US outlined a proposal for the restrictions to be rolled back in a bid to facilitate a deal between Moscow and Kiev

The EU has firmly rejected the idea of easing Ukraine-related sanctions against Russia before peace negotiations are concluded, Reuters reported on Wednesday, citing sources.

Last week, the US shared with EU officials proposals aimed at facilitating a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine. The initiative reportedly outlined potential terms to end the conflict, including the easing of sanctions on Moscow in the event of a lasting ceasefire.

Brussels, however, “staunchly opposes”Russia’s request to lift EU sanctions before peace talks are concluded, Reuters wrote, citing European diplomats.Another sticking point is the US proposal to recognize Russian sovereignty over Crimea – a suggestion the outlet described as a “non-starter” for both the EU and Kiev.

The EU’s stance is reportedly seen as diminishing the chances of any breakthrough in the peace negotiations, prompting senior US officials to skip a high-level meeting in London on Wednesday held for discussing the Ukraine conflict.

The gathering was due to include top diplomats from the UK, US, France, Germany, and Ukraine but ended up being downgraded to involve lower-level officials.

Both special envoy Steve Witkoff and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are skipping the event. The US delegation is insteadbeing led instead by General Keith Kellogg, another envoy of US President Donald Trump focused on Ukraine.

Last month, European Commission PresidentUrsula von der Leyen declared the EU would not lift its sanctions against Russia for as long as the Ukraine conflict continues. Also in March, the EU rejected a Russian demand to lift sanctions on Russian Agricultural Bank as part of the Black Sea ceasefire initiative discussed between Moscow and Washington. During the talks in Saudi Arabia, Russia and the US agreed to work toward reviving the Black Sea Grain Initiative, which, according to the Kremlin, would include the removal of Western restrictions against the agricultural bank and other financial institutions.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov responded that the EU’s refusal to lift sanctions on Russia demonstrates the bloc’s reluctance to end the Ukraine conflict.“If European countries don’t want to go down this path, it means they don’t want to go down the path of peace in unison with the efforts shown in Moscow and Washington,” he said at the time. (They also don’t care how many more soldiers die.)

Trump makes ‘final offer’ to end Ukraine conflict – Axios

The US peace framework reportedly includes “de jure” recognition of Crimea as part of Russia and the eventual lifting of sanctions

Washington has presented Kiev with what USPresident Donald Trump has called the “final offer” to end the Ukraine conflict, according to a report by Axios. The Kremlin, however, has urged the public to rely on official and primary sources for developments in US-Russia talks.

The one-page document was reportedly drafted following Trump envoy Steve Witkoff’s four-hour meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier this month, and was presented to Ukrainian officials in Paris last week, Axios reported on Tuesday, citing unnamed sources with direct knowledge of the discussions.

Under the proposed deal, the US is said to be prepared to grant “de jure” recognition of Crimea as part of Russia, and unofficially acknowledge Moscow’s “de facto” control over the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics, as well as the regions of Kherson and Zaporozhye.

The plan also includes provisions for lifting post-2014 sanctions on Moscow and enhancing bilateral economic cooperation. In addition, Washington would formally oppose Ukraine’s bid to join NATO.

In return,Ukraine would reportedly receive a “robust security guarantee” from a coalition of EU and other like-minded countries. The proposal does not detail how a purpoted “peacekeeping” operation would function.

Russia has rejected the deployment of NATO forces, or troops from members of the bloc under a “coalition of the willing” to Ukraine under any pretext.

The framework alsopromises Kiev unimpeded access to the Dnepr River and potential compensation for reconstruction efforts, although it does not specify where the funding would originate. The plan references a minerals deal between the US and Ukraine, which Trump expects to be signed on Thursday.

Another component of the proposal, according to Axios, involvesdesignating the area around the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant as neutral territory under US administration.

Washington reportedly expects Kiev to respond to the proposal during a multinational meeting in London on Wednesday. Both Witkoff and Secretary of State Marco Rubio will skip the event, with General Keith Kellogg, another Trump envoy focused on Ukraine, leading the US delegation instead. Witkoff is expected to travel to Moscow for a follow-up meeting with Putin.

Rubio warned last week that the US could abandon the peace initiatives and “move on” to other issues if the negotiations fail. Trump said on Monday there is “a good chance of solving the problem” this week.

Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky has repeatedly ruled out ceding any territory to Russia and continues to urge the US and other allies to provide sustained military support.

Moscow has stated that the status of Crimea – which joined Russia in 2014 following a referendum held after a Western-backed coup in Kiev – and the four other former Ukrainian regions that voted to join Russia in 2022, is not open to negotiation. Russian officials insist thatany peace agreement must address the “root causes” of the conflict. Putin has also said that a viable ceasefire would requireWestern nations to halt arms deliveries to Ukraine.
