US judge blocks Trump’s Voice of America funding cut

The president previously described the American propaganda arm as biased and an unnecessary burden on taxpayers

A US federal judge has issued an injunction against the decision by the administration of President Donald Trump to cut funding for Voice of America (VOA), ordering the government to restore resources to the state-funded propaganda outlet.

VOA and its sister service, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, have long functioned as foreign-language broadcasting arms of the United States government. The outlets were originally created during the Cold War to spread pro-Western propaganda in the Soviet bloc, with RFE/RL initially being financed by the CIA. Recently, both outlets have depended on grants from the US Congress.

Earlier this year, Trump ordered funding to be slashed for the US Agency for Global Media (USAGM), the federal body that oversees VOA and RFE/RL. The move forced the outlets to put their employees on unpaid leave. The decision has been framed by the Trump administration as part of a broader effort to dismantle bureaucratic influence networks and shift toward soft power efforts in line with “America First” principles.

On Tuesday, Judge Royce Lamberth of the US District Court for the District of Columbia ruled that Trump’s efforts to dismantle VOA were unlawful. The justice, appointed to the bench in 1987 by then-President Ronald Reagan, expressed concern over the abrupt defunding of the outlet, citing potential long-term harm to its employees and consumers.

In his ruling, Lamberth ordered the USAGM to restore funding to VOA and other outlets under its umbrella and barred the agency from blocking their operation. He further stated that Trump’s slashing of USAGM funding was done “without regard to the harm inflicted on employees, contractors, journalists, and media consumers around the world.”

Lamberth noted that his order does not apply to RFE/RL as he had previously already issued a temporary restraining order preventing the Trump administration from defunding the outlet.

Apologists for the regime, often masquerading as defenders of the free market, attempt to propagandize the plebes with statistics that food like bread is cheaper in inflation-adjusted terms than before. But is the high-fructose corn syrup-infested food product that the supermarkets call “bread” really comparable to what our grandparents bought and ate back in the 1960s?

Or they enthusiastically tell us that the average house size is bigger than ever. But if ten people have 1,000 sq. foot houses, one builds on a 500 sq.ft. addition and an eleventh person enters the market and builds a new 11,000 sq.ft. McMansion, the average space more than doubles without the overwhelming majority of people seeing any change whatsoever. It’s not like the majority of those houses built in the 1940s and 50s had major additions put on them.

Military contractors place their factories strategically in as many congressional districts as possible. And that masterfully-planned policy is not to increase economic efficiency, but to increase political efficiency, to get their programs funded by Congress.

This propaganda doesn’t work when middle class workers are shouldering a higher tax burden than the middle class did during World War II, which they are, even though there’s no global war to fight.

Report: Scientists Look to Dim the Sun to Counter ‘Runaway Climate Change’

The UK government is poised to approve experiments that seek ways to dim sunlight and deflect it away to fight “runaway climate change,” a report Wednesday claims.

According to the Daily Telegraph, a host of possible options for climate control are being considered by scientists with government approval alongside £50 million in taxpayer funds:

Outdoor field trials which could include injecting aerosols into the atmosphere, or brightening clouds to reflect sunshine, are being considered by scientists as a way to prevent runaway climate change.

Aria, the Government’s advanced research and invention funding agency, has set aside £50 million for projects, which will be announced in the coming weeks.

Prof Mark Symes, the programme director for Aria (Advanced Research and Invention Agency), is reported by the Telegraph to have confirmed there will be, “small controlled outdoor experiments on particular approaches”.

“We will be announcing who we have given funding to in a few weeks and when we do so we will be making clear when any outdoor experiments might be taking place,” he said.

“One of the missing pieces in this debate was physical data from the real world. Models can only tell us so much. Everything we do is going to be safe by design. We’re absolutely committed to responsible research, including responsible outdoor research.”

The professor went on to say safety will be important, adding “We have strong requirements around the length of time experiments can run for and their reversibility and we won’t be funding the release of any toxic substances to the environment.”

The Telegraph notes geoengineering projects which seek to artificially alter the climate have proven controversial, with critics arguing they could bring damaging knock-on effects.

This has been noted previously when scientists looked to “dimming the sun” as a way to shield the earth’s surface.

Commercial real estate is teetering. Nearly 900,000,000,000 dollars of debt is due for refinancing this year. With empty offices, evaporating leases, and skittish investors, few are lining up to rescue it. The towers are tall, but the confidence behind them is shrinking.

Then comes the sovereign beast. Between now and December 2026, nearly 60 percent of United States government debt must be reissued. That is more than 20,000,000,000,000 dollars. Markets are volatile. Investors are nervous. Interest rates are climbing. This is not refinancing. It is a financial hostage situation.

Israel Brags About Killing Over 140 Members Of Hezbollah During Ceasefire (Videos)

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced on April 23 that it had killed more than 140 members of Hezbollah since a ceasefire agreement with Lebanon brokered by the United States came into effect last November.

In a statement summarizing its activities in Lebanon over the past week, the military said that it killed nine Hezbollah members and struck over 40 sites belonging to the group in Lebanon.

The strikes were a part of efforts to prevent Hezbollah from rearming, the military added, noting that members involved in the group’s reorganization efforts and those who were violating the ceasefire were targeted. It also published footage showing some of the recent strikes.

The latest strike, which was on April 22, killed an alleged commander of Hezbollah in the town of al-Haniyya in southern Lebanon. The commander was responsible for Hezbollah’s forces in the area of Majdal Zoun, according to the IDF.

The ceasefire, which entered into effect on November 27, was supposed to end all clashes on the Israeli-Lebanese border by February 18. Nevertheless, the Israeli military continues to launch strikes against Hezbollah. It also maintains troops at five strategic points in southern Lebanon.

Hezbollah has so far refrained from responding in any way, likely to deny Israel an excuse to renew its full-on operations in Lebanon.

Still, the IDF escalated its strikes in recent weeks, hitting not only Hezbollah, but also the group’s close allies.

On April 4, an Israeli strike on the coastal city of Sidon in southern Lebanon killed Hassan Farhat, a senior official of the Palestinian Hamas Movement. Later on April 22, Hussein Izzat Mohammad Atwi, a prominent member of the Islamic Group, was killed in an Israeli drone strike on the coastal town of Haret al-Naameh located to the south of the capital, Beirut.

Israel will likely continue to escalate to mount more pressure on Hezbollah, which is already facing unprecedented pressure from the Lebanese government.

Minnesota Republicans Introduce Bill to Ban ‘mRNA Bioweapons’

In an explosive new development, Republican lawmakers in Minnesota have introduced legislation to ban mRNA “vaccines” due to mounting evidence that the injections are “weapons of mass destruction.”

The lawmakers argue that the “vaccines” are “mRNA bioweapons” and demand an immediate ban across the state.

Eight Republicans introduced House File 3219, dubbed the “mRNA Bioweapons Prohibition Act.”

The bill defines “mRNA injections and products” broadly to include any treatment containing modified mRNA or nanotechnology linked to gene alteration.

Backers note that mRNA technology poses genetic and immunological risks.

As evidence, the bill’s supporters cite the skyrocketing deaths, injuries, and other adverse events among people who received Covid mRNA “vaccines.”

The mRNA Bioweapons Prohibition Act was submitted in the Minnesota legislature by State Rep. Shane Mekeland, a Republican.

It was also sponsored by Reps. Knudsen, Hudson, Dotseth, Murphy, Altendorf, Allen, and Schultz.

Israeli broadcaster: Army fabricated Gaza tunnel discovery to stall ceasefire deal

An investigation by Israel’s public broadcaster, KAN, has revealed that the Israeli military fabricated the discovery of a tunnel in the Philadelphi Corridor along the Gaza-Egypt border, claiming the structure was, in fact, a shallow canal, Anadolu Agency reports.

Last August, the army published photos of an alleged tunnel in the demilitarised area along the border.

“There was never a tunnel, but a canal covered in dirt,” KAN said.

The purpose of this lie “was to exaggerate the importance of the Philadelphi Corridor and delay a hostage deal,” it added.

According to KAN, former Israeli Defence Minister, Yoav Gallant, backed the findings, saying, “It was not a tunnel, but rather an attempt to prevent a ceasefire agreement.”

Gallant clarified that the structure was only about one meter deep and was misleadingly presented to the public as a deep tunnel. “It was promoted to the public as a deep tunnel to prevent reaching a deal with Hamas,” he added.

The Palestinian Resistance group, Hamas, demands a full ceasefire and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza in return for any hostage swap deal.

There was no immediate comment from the army on the report.

The Israeli army resumed its assault on Gaza on 18 March, shattering a 19 January ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement.

Israel has killed more than 51,200 Palestinians in the enclave since October 2023, most of them women and children.

The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants in November for Netanyahu and his former Defence Minister, Yoav Gallant, for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.

Aerial photographs of the Dimona Nuclear Research Center, classified military bases and images from Gaza showing IDF maneuvering units are now publicly accessible via Google and Apple map services.
