I live in Texas. No state income tax but they make up for it in massive property taxes that do not reflect income but have over valued homes so massively NO ONE can pay the taxes at this point unless they are rich or dip into their retirements far more than comfortably. At this point my taxes will freeze at around 20K per year when i retire and that is exhorbitant. I would rather pay income tax. We have all kinds of taxes. So it is no better.
