Some 150 Drones Target Ukraine As Trump Doubts Putin On Peace: "Just Tapping Me Along"

Overnight into Sunday Russia launched a massive wave of drones on Ukraine, which targeted several regions, resulting in at least one person killed and a 14-year-old girl wounded in the city of Pavlohrad in the Dnipropetrovsk region

Another person was wounded in the Odessa region, and in all there were around 150 drones sent, with Ukraine's air force saying it was able to intercept or electronically jam 67 of them.

On Wednesday the General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces said that "a strike had successfully hit a drone manufacturing facility in the Yelabuga district of Russia's Republic of Tatarstan, located some 655 miles from Ukraine's border."

"The armed forces said Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces struck the facility, which produces about 300 different combat drones per day, including Iranian-designed Shahed drones, and the Russian-made versions, known as Geran uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs)," Newsweek reported.

Trump on Friday said Ukraine and Russia were "very close to a deal" but has also of late expressed skepticism over Moscow's willingness, and has warned that the Russian side better not drag its feet to buy more time to advance on the battlefield.

"There was no reason for Putin to be shooting missiles into civilian areas, cities and towns, over the last few days," Trump wrote in a social media post after attending the funeral for Pope Francis.

Trump and Zelensky had an impromptu face-to-face meeting inside St. Peter's Basilica on the sidelines of the funeral. The NY Times suggests that Zelensky was able to make progress in winning Trump over:

President Trump’s standing among Ukrainians is practically on life support. But many cheered one statement he made on Saturday after meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky, questioning why President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia would continue to pummel Ukraine as the United States is trying to broker peace talks.

“It makes me think that maybe he doesn’t want to stop the war, he’s just tapping me along,” Mr. Trump wrote on Truth Social after meeting with Mr. Zelensky on the sidelines of Pope Francis’ funeral, adding that Mr. Putin may need to be “dealt with differently” — with more sanctions.

The 21st Century Human Is Called Upon To Awaken Both Outwardly And Inwardly

We can’t keep living like this. We’ve got to wake up. We’ve got to become better. We’re never going to make it if we don’t awaken to the reality of our circumstances, both as individuals and as a collective.

Awakening outwardly is waking up from the trance of propaganda and indoctrination, and awakening inwardly is waking up from the trance of ego and delusion.

Awakening outwardly means becoming fully conscious of what’s really happening in our world beyond the propaganda and what we were taught in school. Learning about all the ways we’ve been deceived and manipulated, learning the truth about war, militarism, imperialism, capitalism, authoritarianism, ecocide, and all the interrelated abuses and injustices caused by the systems and power structures we live under.

Awakening inwardly means becoming fully conscious of the ways in which we have been deceiving ourselves. Doing the inner work necessary to bring consciousness to the delusions and dysfunction within us and discovering what’s really true about our unquestioned assumptions regarding basic elements of our experience like self, other, time, space, thought, consciousness, and separation.

Both are necessary if our species is to survive into the future. We won’t be able to collectively organize the overthrow of the oppressive systems which are driving us toward extinction and dystopia until enough of us have a lucid understanding of how our world really works, and we won’t be able to act as individuals to give rise to a healthy world if we’re still wildly dysfunctional and egoically entranced.

And while both kinds of awakening do have areas of overlap, it’s entirely possible to be very awake in one while being fast asleep in the other. Most enlightenment teachers have spent their whole lives focusing entirely on inner awakening, and if you can get them talking about politics and foreign policy you’ll find that they tend to still be largely indoctrinated into the CNN worldview. Anyone who’s spent time in leftist and activist circles has met people who have all the correct opinions and understandings of politics and world affairs, but are extremely disruptive and impossible to work with as individuals because they’re plagued by inner misery and dysfunction.

It’s okay to have periods in your life where you focus on waking up in one way more than the other, but it is important to work toward both over the years. And by working on one you do help build a foundation for the other; someone with a lot of inner consciousness will have more wisdom and discernment to sort out fact from fiction when learning what’s true about the world, and someone who’s learning about the abuses in our world will have many opportunities for self-reflection and compassion by contemplating their own role in the dysfunction of our society and putting themselves in the shoes of those less fortunate.

Military Goes Woke Again: Pentagon Resumes Taxpayer-Funded Transgender Care for Servicemembers

The Pentagon will resume sex change treatments for transgender servicemembers or their trans-identifying dependents. Services to resume include gender dysphoria diagnosis, hormone therapy, surgical procedures, and mental health care and counseling.

In a new memo dated April 21 seen by Politico, the Pentagon’s acting assistant secretary of Defense for health affairs, Dr. Stephen Ferrara, announced the return of the radical policy.

“Service members and all other covered beneficiaries 19 years of age or older may receive appropriate care for their diagnosis of [gender dysphoria], including mental health care and counseling and newly initiated or ongoing cross-sex hormone therapy,” it reads.

When Dassi Erlich came forward in 2007 with allegations of abuse against her former school principal, Malka Leifer, she thought that speaking out would be the hardest part. But what followed was much worse: a 16-year legal battle marked by the frustration of watching the very system meant to protect her instead shield her abuser.

Though Erlich and her sisters Nicole Meyer and Elly Sapper — who also accused Leifer of assault — waived their rights to anonymity, Australian courts barred them from speaking about the issue as long as Israeli courts maintained a gag order preventing the press from identifying Leifer.

“After finally finding the courage to speak, we were legally forced back into silence. It felt like the system was telling me that what happened to me was shameful — my shame — when the shame only belonged to her,” Erlich told The Times of Israel.

While international media covered the case freely, the Israeli public was kept in the dark about who Leifer was and what she had been accused of. The result, Erlich says, was a justice system that muzzled survivors while enabling perpetrators to act behind closed doors.

That experience, she said, “felt like a punishment” — and it’s one that continues in Israel today.

Unprovoked, Israel Attacks Lebanese Capital

Israeli strikes hit the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, a stronghold of Hezbollah, on April 27, in a new escalation.

In a joint statement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz said that the strikes targeted the precision missile warehouse of Hezbollah, adding that the missiles “posed a significant threat to Israel.”

“Israel will not allow Hezbollah to grow stronger and pose any threat to it — anywhere in Lebanon,” the two said, stressing that Israel will not allow Beirut’s southern suburbs, known as Dahiya, to serve as a sanctuary for Hezbollah.

Netanyahu and Katz went on to warn that “the Lebanese government bears direct responsibility for preventing these threats.”

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) also said that the strikes targeted a facility where Hezbollah stored precision missiles.

“The storage of missiles in this infrastructure site constitutes a blatant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon, and poses a threat to the State of Israel and its civilians,” the military said in a statement.

Before the strikes, the IDF issued a warning to civilians in the area. Moreover, Lebanese media reported that several small warning strikes were carried out in the area before fighter jets dropped heavier munitions to destroy the structure. No casualties were reported.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemns the Israeli strikes on Beirut in a statement issued on his behalf.

Aoun called on “the United States and France, as guarantors of the ceasefire agreement, to assume their responsibilities and compel Israel to halt its attacks immediately.” He also said that Israel’s continued destabilization will intensify tensions in the region.

Hezbollah accepted the U.S.-proposed ceasefire following a heated confrontation with the IDF that broke out more than a year earlier as a result of the Israeli war on the group’s ally, Hamas, in the Gaza Strip.

The ceasefire, which went into effect on November 27, was supposed to end all clashes on the Israeli-Lebanese border by February 18. Nevertheless, the Israeli military continues to launch strikes against Hezbollah. It also maintains troops at five strategic points in southern Lebanon.

This was the third time the IDF has carried out strikes in Beirut since the start of the ceasefire. The first two attacks were carried out on March 27 and April 1 in response to rocket attacks which the group denied responsibility for. The second strike killed Hassan Bdair, a senior intelligence commander of the group.

It is important to note here that the latest strike on the Lebanese capital was completely unprovoked. The strike will likely be followed by many as Israel has established that Hezbollah, which is facing immense pressure from the Lebanese government, will not respond.

Miami Mole: Ex-CIA Agent BUSTED!

Dale Britt Bendler, 68, of Miami, Florida, served over 30 years with the CIA, retiring in 2014 as a member of the Senior Intelligence Service. Post-retirement, he continued as a full-time contractor with a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance. Between July 2017 and July 2020, Bendler engaged in unauthorized lobbying and public relations activities on behalf of foreign clients, violating the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

His covert activities included attempts to influence a foreign government’s embezzlement investigation and to sway U.S. visa decisions for clients, one of whom was alleged to be associated with terrorism financing. In exchange, Bendler received hundreds of thousands of dollars, as reported by NBC Miami.

Breach of Trust and Security

During his unauthorized lobbying efforts, Bendler misused his CIA access by searching classified systems for information related to his clients. He improperly stored and disclosed non-public, sensitive, and classified U.S. government information to unauthorized individuals. Additionally, he lied to both the CIA and the FBI about his status as a foreign agent and his unauthorized activities, per another Justice Department release.

The CIA terminated Bendler’s contract and access in September 2020. As part of his plea agreement, he consented to the forfeiture of $85,000 and faces a maximum penalty of seven years in prison—two years for acting as a foreign agent while being a public official and five years for mishandling classified material. His sentencing is scheduled for July 16, as detailed in a report from ClearanceJobs News.

A Wisconsin judge is vowing to shut down her courtroom in defiance after another judge was arrested for allegedly helping an illegal immigrant avoid federal agents.

Judge Monica Isham said in an email to judges statewide on Saturday that she could refuse to hold court in Sawyer County unless she receives more support and guidance. In her message, titled "Guidance Requested or I Refuse to Hold Court," Isham wrote, "If there is no guidance for us and no support for us, I will refuse to hold court in Branch 2 in Sawyer County. I will not put myself or my staff who may feel compelled to help me or my community in harms way," according to a copy obtained by Wisconsin Right Now.

Isham made it clear she wants nothing to do with working with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). She continued, "I have no intention of allowing anyone to be taken out of my courtroom by ICE and sent to a concentration camp, especially without due process, as BOTH of the constitutions we swore to support require. Should I start raising bail money?" She also said, "If this costs me my job or gets me arrested then at least I know I did the right thing."

Her comments come after Judge Hannah Dugan was arrested last week. Dugan faces charges of obstruction of an official proceeding and concealing an individual to prevent discovery and arrest. According to a criminal complaint, Dugan allegedly helped an illegal immigrant escape arrest after a court hearing.

Federal agents from ICE, the FBI, Customs and Border Protection, and the DEA had planned to arrest Eduardo Flores-Ruiz, a Mexican national who had just faced misdemeanor battery charges. Instead, Dugan ordered the agents to leave the courtroom and go to the chief judge’s office. Once Flores-Ruiz’s hearing ended, Dugan allegedly escorted him and his attorney out a restricted jury door, helping him bypass federal officers waiting in the public area.

Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon criticized Isham’s threats on social media, calling her ultimatum "problematic."

Judge Dugan previously served as executive director of Catholic Charities and was elected to Branch 31 of the Circuit Court in 2016. She ran unopposed for re-election in 2022 and typically oversees misdemeanor cases, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Australia's birth rate is at an all-time-low with many young Aussies blaming the cost-of-living crisis for their decision to not have children.

Australian Bureau of Statistics data showed the country's birth rate has halved since 1960 with 52 per cent of Aussies under the age of 35 delaying their family plans.

Among the highest reasons for people choosing to have children later in life, or not at all, were finances, career and relationships.

The cost of raising a child was the biggest factor with 49 per cent of childless young adults citing it as the main reason.

Others blamed job security, housing and mental health concerns.

The decision to have kids later in life was reflected in an increased median age of parenthood which rose to 31.9 for mothers and 33.8 for fathers.

Families are also having less children with the birth rate dropping from 3.55 children per woman in 1960 to 1.5.

'Desire for personal freedom and flexibility (eg travel, hobbies)' was also in the top 10 concerns for people having kids at 19 per cent.
