I always wish this drop could get explained better, or elaborated on
Any Anons have any insight into this?
Its brutal that they killed best friends Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington 2 months apart, and even killed Chester ON Chris's posthumous birthday (July 20)
Geffen is referenced here, specifically "THE MOVE" on Geffen.
I went back and looked at all 7 Linkin Park CD's released with Chester and all 7 were with Warner Bros label
Now, as far as Soundgarden goes
They had 4 albums (1989, 1991, 1994, 1996) released using A&M Records as their label. A&M merged with Geffen in 1999 so this was after the releases of all these Soundgarden albums
Chris Cornell then started Audioslave, who released 3 albums (2002, 2005, 2006), to which they used the same label for all 3 albums - Epic Records and Interscope Records
Epic Records is owned be Geffen.
Interscope Records is owned by American Music Group, which is also owned by Geffen.
Soundgarden then got back together and released one final album (2012), and the record label was Republic Records, now called Universal Republic Records, which is a subsidiary of Geffen.
Summary: None of Linkin Park's 7 albums with Chester were associated with Geffen. Soundgarden's first 4 albums were NOT associated with Geffen, however all 3 of Audioslave's albums WERE associated with Geffen, and Soundgarden's final album in 2012 WAS associated with Geffen
