Lip reader reveals Trump’s alleged Vatican demand to Macron

The French president was sidelined during a meeting in Saint Peter’s Basilica, according to video footage

US President DonaldTrump allegedly told his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, to step aside before having a one-on-one conversation with Ukraine’s VladimirZelensky, according to a professional lip reader cited by British media.

The impromptu meeting took place on the sidelines of Pope Francis’ funeral on Saturday. Footage from the Vatican showed Zelensky walking toward the seating area with Trump, glancing back several times, seemingly expecting the French leader to join. Three chairs were set up, suggesting plans for a three-way discussion.

As the French president approached, Zelensky greeted him warmly with a smile and a hand gesture. However, just moments later, a staff member discreetly removed the third chair.Footage showedTrump gesturing firmly, signaling that the conversation would proceed strictly between him and Zelensky, while Macron eventually stepped back.

Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, Nicola Hickling, a British entrepreneur specializing in lipreading and expert witness reports, described the exchange.

“Donald reaches his hands out to both of them and brings them towards him,” she said. Trump then reportedly told Macron: “You are not in the right here, I need you to do me a favor, you should not be here.”

According to Hickling,Zelensky then “nods in agreement and the vicar who is in front of the camera turns his head to the side looking worried at what he has heard between them.”

French diplomatic sources have played down the frosty exchange, insisting that Macron had no intention of joining the discussion. “People have got their brains in a twist over the third chair. (It) was supposed to be for the interpreter, but in the end it turned into a tete-a-tete,” an unnamed source told The Telegraph.

The brief meeting in Vatican marked the first face-to-face encounter between Trump and Zelensky since their clash at the White House in February. Their discussion took place as the US president has been pressing Kiev to accept what the media described as his “final offer” to end hostilities. According to reports, Washington has proposed freezing the conflict along the current front lines and recognizing Crimea as part of Russia — something Zelensky has repeatedly rejected.

While Trump is eager to secure a ceasefire as soon as possible in order to deliver on his campaign promise,Macron has consistently insistedthat any peace dealmust guarantee Ukraine’s “sovereignty and territorial integrity,”contributing to rising tensions between Washington and Paris.

Meanwhile, Moscow has once again reiteratedits readiness for discussions with Kiev without preconditions.

Moscow unveils details of latest contact with US

The two countries’ top diplomats continued “a productive exchange of opinions,” the Russian Foreign ministry has said

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov held a phone call on Sunday, in which they stressed the importance of further efforts to settle the Ukraine conflict, Moscow’s Foreign Ministry has said.

The top diplomats from thetwo nations continued a “productive exchange of opinions on key aspects of the Russian-American political dialogue, which has significantly intensified recently,” the ministry said in a statement on Monday.

The main topic of discussions between Lavrov and Rubio was the Ukraine crisis, the statement read.

“The minister and the secretary of state emphasized the importance of consolidating the emerging prerequisites for starting negotiations in order to agree on a reliable path to long-term sustainable peace” between Moscow and Kiev, it said.

Other international issues have also been addressed, and both sides have agreed to continue contacts at all levels, the Russian Foreign Ministry added.

During his appearance on NBC News’ Meet the Press on Sunday,Rubio stressed that the upcoming week is expected to be “very critical”for the White House with regard to the Ukraine peace process, as it is trying to make a “determination about whether this is an endeavor that we want to continue to be involved in.”

Washington does not want to walk away, but it also does not want to “spend time on something that is not going to get us there” either, he said. “There are reasons to be optimistic, but there are reasons to be realistic. We are close, but we are not close enough,” the Secretary of State added.

US President Donald Trump, who met with Vladimir Zelensky on the sidelines of Pope Francis’ funeral on Saturday, said that the Ukrainian leader was “calmer. I think he understands the picture. And I think he wants to make a deal. I do not know if he wanted to make a deal [before]. I think he wants to make a deal.”

Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov reiterated Moscow’s readiness to engage in talks with Kiev without preconditions. The issue was raised by Russian President Vladimir Putin during his meeting with Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, in Moscow on Friday, he said.

Moderna risks UK suspension over cash and toys offered to kids – media

A British watchdog has criticized the biotech firm =over recruitment practices involving children in coronavirus booster studies==

US ’big pharma’ company Moderna could be suspended or expelled from a UK trade body after breaches of industry rules, including offering children cash and teddy bears to take part in Covid vaccine trials, The Telegraph has reported.

Moderna, which joined the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) in 2023, now faces an audit that could result in its suspension or expulsion. A new ruling is expected to be published in the coming days, according to The Telegraph. If sanctioned, it would become the tenth firm to face suspension from the ABPI in the past 40 years, the newspaper wrote.

The UK’s drug watchdog, the Prescription Medicines Code of Practice Authority (PMCPA), saidModerna’s lack of transparency was "unacceptable" and damaged the industry’s reputation.

In October 2024, Moderna was fined £14,000 ($17,850) after a WhatsApp message offered £1,500 ($1,872) to minors to join the NextCOVE Covid booster trial. Although the company later reduced the payment to £185 ($231), at least one site continued promoting the original offer. The PMCPA said the payment was “much higher than would be considered a reasonable reimbursement” and ruled that it discredited the pharmaceutical industry.

In a separate case, Moderna was fined nearly £44,000 ($56,000)after Britain’s pharmaceutical watchdog found it had damaged the industry’s reputation. In 2023, Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust published adverts aimed at children aged 12 and over, offering “a lovely certificate and a ‘be part of the research’ teddy bear.” Two online articles also promoted recruitment. (Honest to God $56,000 is not a penalty.)

A senior Moderna employee co-authored promotional articles, including one with former vaccines minister Nadhim Zahawi, without disclosing his affiliation, the Telegraph reported. The employee also sent promotional tweets without revealing his role.

The PMCPA said Moderna “misled regulators”about when it learned of the breaches. While the company claimed it acted promptly after being informed in January 2024, evidence showed executives had been alerted by UsForThem in August 2023.

The findings showed “how readily [Moderna] put profit ahead of the health and safety of children”and “laid bare just how little regard it hashad for the regulatory system that was supposed to keep it honest,” Molly Kingsley, founder of UsForThem, told the newspaper.

COVID-19 vaccines, including Moderna’s Spikevax, may lead to side effects in minors, such as pain at the injection site, fatigue, headache, fever, and, in rare cases, myocarditis or pericarditis, according to health authorities.

Trump claims Zelensky ready to ‘give up’ Crimea

The Ukrainian leader has repeatedly insisted he would never formally recognize the peninsula as Russian territory

US President Donald Trump has said he believes Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky has come to terms with the need to recognize Crimea as part of Russia in order to achieve peace with Moscow.

Zelensky has repeatedly insisted he would never formally recognize Moscow’s control over Crimea, which became part of Russia in 2014 afollowing a referendum held in the aftermath of a bloody Western-backed armed coup in Kiev.

Trump, who met with the Ukrainian leader on the sidelines of Pope Francis’ funeral at the Vatican on Saturday, was asked by journalists aboard Air Force One on Sunday if Zelensky was now prepared to “give up” the peninsula.

Oh, I think so, yeah,”the US president replied.

Trump said the tone of his latest exchange with Zelensky was markedly different compared to the “little dispute” they had at the Oval Office in February.

Back then, the Ukrainian leader’s meeting with Trump and US Vice President J.D. Vance turned into a shouting match in front of the cameras and led to Zelensky’s visit to the White House being cut short.

”I see him [Zelensky] as calmer. I think he understands the picture. And I think he wants to make a deal. I do not know if he wanted to make a deal [before]. I think he wants to make a deal,”the president stated.

Trump said Zelensky had told him “that he needs more weapons, but he has been saying that for three years.” The US president noted that Kiev is in a “very tough situation” and is fighting “a much bigger force.”

He also called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to “stop shooting, sit down and sign a deal” to end the fighting.

Moscow has said on numerous occasions that it is ready to begin talks with Kiev without any preconditions. However, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted on Monday that so far Russia is not seeing any steps from Ukraine that would signal its eagerness to start negotiating.

Russian officials have emphasized that any viable long-term settlement must address the root causes of the conflict and reflect the territorial realities on the ground, including Moscow’s control of Crimea as well as of the People’s Republics of Donetsk and Lugansk and Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.

(I don’t know how Trump can trust Zelensky saying anything, he’s been coached by Macron and Starmer. Zelensky was not a great actor but he’s still an actor)

Russians ‘are not our enemy’ – Trump adviser

Crypto csar David Sacks has refuted Vladimir Zelensky’s claim that Ukraine is fighting on behalf of Americans

The White House crypto csar has rejected the notion that Ukraine is aiding the United States against its enemies by fighting Russia.

Kiev has consistently asserted that it is “defending” Western nations from Russia. Vladimir Zelensky reiterated the point in a recent interview with conservative journalist Ben Shapiro, where he urged the US to act as an arms supplier rather than a diplomatic mediator and stating that Ukrainians “are fighting against your enemies, the Russians.”

“Russians are not our enemy. We shouldn’t be helping to kill them,” countered David Sacks, a venture entrepreneur and White House advisor on crypto and artificial intelligence, who responded on social media on Sunday to a clip from the interview. Sacks has long criticized US support for Kiev, characterizing it as an attempt to transform the Ukraine conflict into a “forever war.”

Zelensky has arguedthat modernRussia shares the same agenda as the former USSR and considers the US its “main enemy.” He accused Moscow of collaborating with Tehran and Pyongyang to undermine American interests.

Conversely, he stated that Kiev views the US as a “strategic partner” and “friend.” However, he cautioned that any attempts to pressure Ukrainians could “turn them around very quickly.” (So he’s threatening the U.S. now, he better watch what he says.)

US President Donald Trump has claimed that Zelensky has undermined his efforts to negotiate a peace deal between Kiev and Moscow by publicly dismissing his proposals. In their latest meeting, held on the sidelines of Pope Francis’ funeral last Saturday, the Ukrainian leader requested more weapons, the US president told the media, adding that “he has been saying that for three years.”

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told CBS last week thatMoscow is interested in a relationship with the USwhich is based on “an equal, mutually respectful dialogue heading to finding a balance of interest.” With that approach, “everything is possible,” he added.

White House displays lawn signs highlighting illegal immigrant crime

White House displays yard signs of the 100 'worst illegal immigrant criminals' arrested in Trump's first 100 days

Danielle Wallace By Danielle Wallace

Published April 28, 2025

The White House lawn is lined with posters of 100 of the "worst illegal immigrant criminals" arrested in the first 100 days of President Donald Trump's second term.

"Good Morning from The White House!" White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt wrote on X on Monday morning, sharing video of the posters, which say "arrested" at the top and appear to have a mugshot or other photo of the person followed by the label "illegal alien."

The bottom of the poster lists a crime the person is accused of committing, including rape, murder, sexual assault of a child, lewd acts in front of a child, and distribution of fentanyl and illegal guns.

"We will hunt you down. You will face justice. You will be deported — and you will never set foot on American soil again," the White House wrote in a separate X post. "Oh, and your mugshot may just end up on a yard sign at the White House."

Leavitt and Border Czar Tom Homan hosted an early morning press briefing Monday. Homan alleged that former President Joe Biden "unsecured the border on purpose."

"I started the Border Patrol in 1984. I've been at this for over 40 years. I worked for six presidents, starting with Ronald Reagan. Every president I ever worked for took more security seriously. Because you can't have national security if you don't have strong border security," Homan told reporters. "Even President Obama and President Clinton took some steps to secure the border. They understood national security was important."

"Joe Biden was the first president in the history of this nation who came in office and unsecured the border on purpose. That's just a fact," Homan said.

The White House also released a list and photos of all 100 illegal immigrants featured on the yard signs, highlighting several higher-profile cases.

There's a poster of Jose Enrique Pol Troncoso, a 31-year-old Dominican national arrested earlier this month by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Miami. He was convicted of fentanyl possession and carrying a concealed weapon. His criminal histo also includes cocaine and heroin possession and stalking in Orange County, Florida, according to the White House.

Last month, ICE Houston arrested 66-year-old Guatemalan national Norberto Che Xol, whose photo is also featured at the White House Monday. He was convicted of indecent sexual contact with a child in Harris County, Texas.

The White House is also displaying the image of Virginia Basora Gonzalez – a Dominican woman previously deported for fentanyl trafficking who broke down in tears when she was arrested by federal agents again in Philadelphia last month. Gonzalez had a final order of removal dated March 4, 2020. Her criminal history includes a conviction for attempted possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl in Philadelphia, according to the White House.

ICE Denver arrested 65-year-old Mexican national Francisco Schraidt-Rodriguez, who was convicted of fentanyl distribution in Baja California. His photo is now on the White House lawn.

As is a photo of 55-year-old Honduran national Hector Rolando Valle, who was convicted of performing lewd acts in front of a minor in Oklahoma and sentenced to five years in prison. ICE Philadelphia arrested Valle on March 13. He had a final order of removal dated May 2, 2022.

ICE St. Louis arrested 40-year-old Mexican national Giovanni Rafael Falcon Gomez "pursuant to a federal indictment for coercion and enticement of a minor and transfer of obscene material to a minor," according to the White House. ICE Detroit arrested 27-year-old Bhutanian national Birkha Sarki, who was convicted of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor in Columbus, Ohio, was sentenced to five years in prison and had a final order of removal dated Aug. 6, 2024. Their photos are now on display.

Just days after Trump's inauguration, ICE Seattle arrested Honduran national Kevin Adith Torres-Velasquez on Jan. 24 for the possession of approximately 10 kilograms of a mixture of cocaine and fentanyl as well as a firearm. According to the White House, he was previously removed from the U.S. in 2005, again in 2008, and in 2017 was deemed an "inadmissible alien." Torres-Velasquez now has his photo on the White House lawn.

President Ryan signs collective statement condemning Trump administration

More than 150 university presidents signed the statement, which called for constructive government engagement with higher education

April 22, 2025

The American Association of Colleges and Universities released a public statement Tuesday which condemned President Donald Trump’s “unprecedented government overreach” in higher education across the country. University President Jim Ryan was one of over 180 signees, which included college and university presidents as well as other leaders within higher education.

“As leaders of America’s colleges, universities and scholarly societies, we speak with one voice against the unprecedented government overreach and political interference now endangering American higher education,” the statement reads.

The University was the only Virginia public university whose president signed.

This statement came following a series of federal funding cuts to several higher education institutions across the nation, and one day after Harvard University filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration for its threats to cut research funding.

While the statement claims that signees are willing to enact reforms and cooperate with government supervision, it disagrees with the current administration’s decision to withdraw funding from institutions.

“We are open to constructive reform anddo not oppose legitimate government oversight,” the statement reads. “However, we must oppose undue government intrusion in the lives of those who learn, live, and work on our campuses. We will always seek effective and fair financial practices, but we must reject the coercive use of public research funding.”

The statement also calls for a protection of free speech, mentioning recent threats of deportation and revoked student visas. At least one student at the University has already had their student visa canceled.

“Our colleges and universities share a commitment to serve as centers of open inquiry where, in their pursuit of truth, faculty, students and staff are free to exchange ideas and opinions across a full range of viewpoints without fear of retribution, censorship,or deportation,” the statement reads.

The University had not offered comment at the time of publication.

(Their job is actually to teach students. Those Universities just outed themselves, they should have kept their mouthes shut. All they are doing is proving President Trump to have been correct for years.)

Behind the Curtain: The art of persuading Trump

Jim VandeHei

,

Mike Allen1/2

facebook (opens in new windo(opens in new window)

__President Trump's__improvisational and unpredictable leadership style has forced Cabinet officials, advisers and friends to develop a playbook to scuttle ideas they consider dumb, dangerous or undoable.

Why it matters:White House aides, Trump's Cabinet and top CEOs often resort to indirect tricks and techniques to sway "the boss."

The current trade fight captures this reality: Lots of top administration officials have doubts about Trump's insistence on aggressive, across-the-board tariffs. Almost all CEOs privately say the overall idea, and the way it was implemented, are dumb, delusional and destructive.

• They believe America was legitimately on the edge of a Golden Age if Trump used his victory to lower taxes, cut regulations, and smartly reset global trade and investment to America's benefit.

• They saw explosive growth unfolding this year, absent an unexpected shock.

Trump is the shock they feared. His improvisational strategy and sky-high tariffs spooked almost every aspect of the global economy.

• It's now hard to reverse, especially in a timely enough manner to dull economic pain.

Inside the White House, officials employ a daily dance of trying to ease, gently nudge and flatter Trump into shifting his worldview.

• Make no mistake (and lots of people do): Trump believes as fervently in tariffs and his approach as he does in any topic he's ever pursued.

• His team has all bought in on the idea of using more tariffs. But the details of how to employ them, and when, vary widely.

So the dance begins, with several specific moves:

The Block:Trump is notorious for reacting impulsively to the last thing he heard. So, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and those aligned with his view of winding down the trade war work hard to get alone time with Trump, away from pro-tariff warriors like Peter Navarro. Sometimes, they track physical locations of rivals to pounce on meetings with Trump.

The Scare:Trump is very hard to persuade after winning two elections and surviving being shot. His self-confidence and self-certainty are soaring. But he's not fully impervious to fear. That's why top officials wanted him to hear dire economic warnings from Walmart, Target and Home Depot last week — or Jamie Dimon's forecast of a potential meltdown three weeks ago. Trump's walk-back-on firing Fed chair Jay Powell showed this.

The Glorification:This is increasingly common in trying to move Trump. Make a different idea — "We're trying to isolate China!" or "Negotiate genius deals!" — sound like it's both brilliant and Trump's. This requires using Trumpian language to make the ideas feel fresh, wise — and definitely not a capitulation.

The Nudge:This is next-level Trump persuasion. Trump hates being cornered — forced to compromise or surrender. So aides delicately, slowly use a combination of data points, friends, and CEOs Trump admires, to subtly and slowly move him.

The TV:This is an oldie but goodie for a reason — it works. Get respected CEOs on the right shows saying the right things, knowing Trump will either be watching or shown a clip. It's why so much tariff news is made on Fox News, often with Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo on her "Mornings with Maria" show.

The Level-Set:This is where Trump receives blunt advice, but he needs to be ready for it. Trump hit the 90-day tariff pause after the stock and bond markets revolted and after Vice President Vance and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles had multiple meetings with him. Trump also began talking about lowering the sky-high 145% tariffs on China when Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick told him that the U.S. will collect zero tariff revenue if there isn't trade with China at all.

Behind the scenes:Both inside and outside the White House, Trump advisers bristle at the notion that he doesn't receive blunt advice. They credit Wiles with creating an information environment where the president doesn't feel managed or limited. So she has packed Trump's schedule with numerous meetings with CEOs, car companies and major retailers who can share their opinion.

• “She doesn't claim to have all the answers, but she orchestrates one of the most complex information flows with tremendous strategy and effectiveness," an adviser texts Axios' Marc Caputo.

• "Her goal is to ensure Trump is presented unvarnished truths so HE can make the decision. She doesn't manipulate the process to effectuate a decision. It's why he trusts her and provides her the leeway to execute."

But the adviser said some CEOs talk tough and then get wobbly when in the White House:

• "She recognizes that Trump alone, let aloneTrump behind the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office, is a tremendously intimidating presence and even the most accomplished CEOs wither in front of him."

Axios' Marc Caputo contributed reporting.

Trump OUTSMARTS Anti-Deportation Court!

Very clear, Trump Admin updated their forms to overcome the idiot judges.

Why isn’t Congress passing laws to stop the freaking leftists courts from interfering with the Article I powers. They want illegals on both sides.

Anytime republicans state outrage means they won’t do anything about it. Congress came up with plans to limit judges but it will never get passed, because many want to please their big business donors
