Trump insisted that “great Pollster John McLaughlin, one of the most highly respected in the industry, has just stated that The Failing New York Times Poll, and the ABC/Washington Post Poll, about a person named DONALD J. TRUMP, ME, are FAKE POLLS FROM FAKE NEWS ORGANIZATIONS.”

McLaughlin, a veteran researcher and political consultant often branded “Trump’s pollster” by the US media, later shared a screenshot of the US leader’s post on his account on X.

“The New York Times has only 37% Trump 2024 voters, and the ABC/Washington Post Poll has only 34% Trump Voters, unheard of numbers unless looking for a negative result, which they are,” Trump insisted.

He said that the media organizations should be investigated for fraud, along with the Fox News pollster that suggested that 44% of Americans approved of the president’s “overall job performance.”

“They are Negative Criminals who apologize to their subscribers and readers after I WIN ELECTIONS BIG, much bigger than their polls showed I would win, loose a lot of credibility, and then go on cheating and lying for the next cycle, only worse,” Trump stressed.

The president also claimed that American media outlets “suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome, and there is nothing that anyone, or anything, can do about it. THEY ARE SICK, almost only write negative stories about me no matter how well I am doing… AND ARE TRULY THE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE!”

The system was being pushed to the limit.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered a 72-hour ceasefire in the Ukraine conflict to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory over Nazi Germany.

Moscow has emphasized that it is willing to pursue peace talks without preconditions, while cautioning that any ceasefire violations would be met with a response, according to the Kremlin’s statement.

Putin said the ceasefire was being proposed due to “humanitarian considerations,” and ordered the suspension of all military activity against Ukrainian forces starting from midnight on May 7–8 and lasting until midnight on May 10–11.

Ukraine hands 15-year jail term to ex-president

A Kiev court has accused Viktor Yanukovich of “inciting desertion” for leaving the country with his entourage during the 2014 Maidan coup

Former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich has been handed a 15-year prison sentence by a Kiev court for allegedly inciting desertion and organizing “illegal transportation across the state border,” Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office announced on Monday.

Yanukovich served as president of Ukraine from 2010 until 2014, when he was ousted during the Western-backed Maidan coup and forced to leave the country. He has since sought refuge in Russia. Shortly after his escape, the Ukrainian parliament officially stripped him of his title as president.

Ukrainian prosecutors have now claimed that Yanukovich’s escape in February 2014 was “illegal” and have accused him of taking at least 20 other people across the border with him, including his personal entourage and military personnel.

The prosecution alleged that after Yanukovich fled Kiev, a number of state security workers that traveled with him to Russia did not return to military service, constituting desertion.

On Monday, the Podolsky District Court of Kiev said that prosecutors had proven Yanukovich’s transgressions and sentenced the former leader in absentia to 15 years in prison, finding him guilty of organizing an illegal border crossing and inciting desertion. Additionally, the court also sentenced Yanukovich’s former deputy head of the presidential security service, Konstantin Kobzar, to ten years in prison for desertion and organizing the illegal transfer of persons across the state border.

Houthis Claim US Airstrike Killed 68 Africans At Migrant Detention Center

A Houthi-controlled ministry said on Monday that a U.S. airstrike killed at least 68 Africans at a migrant detention center in northern Yemen.

The Yemen News Agency (Saba) said it received a statement from the civil defense department of the Ministry of Interior, reporting that the strike in Saada governorate, a Houthi stronghold, killed at least 68 and wounded 47 African migrants.

Migrants from Eritrea, Ethiopia, and other African countries often cross the Bab el-Mandab Strait to Yemen en route to oil-rich Saudi Arabia, seeking work.

Graphic footage broadcast by the Houthi-controlled Al-Masirah satellite news channel showed what appeared to be dead bodies.

The Epoch Times was unable to verify the claims or the footage.

On March 15, President Donald Trump ordered airstrikes on Houthi-held areas in Yemen, vowing to use “overwhelming lethal force” until the Iran-backed terrorists end their attacks on a critical sea lane.

U.S. aircraft have been consistently hitting targets across Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen over the last six weeks in what is known as Operation Rough Rider.

“Since March 15, U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) forces have conducted an intense and sustained campaign targeting the Houthi terrorist organization in Yemen to restore freedom of navigation and American deterrence,” U.S. Central Command said in an April 27 statement.

With foreign central bank appetite for US Treasuries in retreat, what will replace the current system? I don't think anyone knows. The chart below suggests we go back to substantial central bank gold holdings. Maybe. IMHO, fragmentation and a broad erosion of trust is a likely path – how that "erosion of trust" plays out, however, is difficult to speculate. I would think gold will play a bigger role going forward, but it may be naive to think it will simply go back to the 'old days'. In my crystal ball is mostly instability -volatility. And remember, when a country is cornered for whatever reason (political instability may well result in some countries), the rules of the games may change along the way. Yes, gold may be a "beneficiary" of that process, but what I doubt it will simply be central banks holding a bit more gold then before.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called on Sunday for Iran’s entire nuclear infrastructure to be dismantled, as talks between the US and Iran appeared to move in a positive direction following a third round of indirect negotiations in Oman over the weekend.

Netanyahu also specified that Iran must not be allowed to enrich uranium or even to retain the capacity to do so, and told a conference that he had presented his position on the matter to US President Donald Trump, and was in close contact with the US on the subject.

It was unclear, however, exactly how much Netanyahu’s position aligns with that of the US. Speaking to reporters, also on Sunday, Trump did not appear to share his concerns. “On the Iran situation, I think we’re doing very well,” said Trump. “I think a deal is going to be made there. It’s going to happen. Pretty sure it’s going to happen.”

The US-Iran negotiations — aimed at sealing a deal blocking Tehran from acquiring a nuclear weapon, while lifting crippling economic sanctions imposed by Washington — are expected to continue to a fourth round in the coming days.

Speaking at the Jewish News Syndicate policy conference in Jerusalem, Netanyahu stressed that Tehran could not be allowed to continue enriching uranium. As far as Israel is concerned, he said, “a real deal that works is one that removes Iran’s capacity to enrich uranium for nuclear weapons.

He said Trump has told him “many times, including just recently, ‘We can’t allow Iran to have nuclear weapons.’ And I said, ‘I absolutely believe that.'”

“Dismantle all the infrastructure of Iran’s nuclear program. That is a deal we can live with,” Netanyahu went on, predicting that if the two sides were to agree on a deal that is too lenient, Iran would simply run out the clock and wait for the end of Trump’s term before picking back up where it left off.

Iran, which openly seeks Israel’s destruction, denies seeking nuclear arms, but has accelerated production of 60%-enriched uranium, an enrichment rate far above what is needed for civilian uses and a short technical step from weapons-grade uranium. It also continues to develop its ballistic missile capabilities.

Ex-Microsoft employees blow the whistle on company's connection to Israel's AI-driven atrocities in Gaza

On April 4, Microsoft celebrated its 50th anniversary at its headquarters in Redmond, Washington.

Amidst the revelry and celebration of its products, including AI, they were disrupted by two employees representing an organisation called No Azure For Apartheid, dedicated to revealing the truth behind that very same AI’s use in Israel's genocide in Gaza.

Their disruptions made waves globally, and The New Arab caught up with the founders of the employee movement, Hossam Nasr and Abdo Mohamed, as well as one of the disruptors, Vaniya Agrawal.

AI-powered genocide

Recent reports have described the ongoing horrors in Gaza as “the first AI-powered genocide,” revealing how Israel has been able to enact such catastrophic damage in such a short amount of time.

Both +972 Magazine and the Intercept describe how the Israeli military utilises AI and cloud-computing software from Amazon and Google to create programmes like “Lavender,” and “Where’s Daddy” — programmes that, in the early stages of the genocide, labelled a staggering 37,000 Palestinian civilians as suspected militants, tracking them so they can be targeted when they arrive at their home.

But it’s not just Amazon and Google that have provided Israel with the tools and infrastructure to make these human rights violations possible; it’s also Microsoft, more specifically, their cloud computing and AI software, Azure.

The Israeli military’s reliance on philanthropist Bill Gates’ Microsoft is so heavy that it’s used in all its major military sectors.

Leaked documents seen by +972 and DropSite News reveal that Azure is used by units in the air, ground and naval forces. Not only that, but it’s what the army uses to manage the population registry and movement of Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza, with a programme called “Rolling Stone.”

Most importantly, the relationship between Israel and Microsoft doesn't end simply at the purchase of an Azure contract. Some of these services are used in highly classified units, including one inside the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, which requires Microsoft employees with security clearances to sign off and oversee the provision of these services. It isn’t just a vendor-customer dynamic that allows this genocide to be so brutal, but an intimate and entwined relationship that requires constant participation by both parties.

This kind of business goes directly against Microsoft’s global human rights statement: “Technology should be used for the good of humanity, to empower and protect everyone and to leave no one behind.”

It’s for this reason that Microsoft employees began to take a stand against their work being used for such atrocities and started an organisation called No Azure for Apartheid in late 2023.

Early organisers in the movement include Hossam Nasr and Abdo Mohamed, who were both fired from Microsoft in November of last year, after holding a vigil for Palestinians on company grounds.

This comes after both of them spent months trying to get executives’ attention on their concern about their complicity in war crimes, through internal petitions as well as through the employee resource group Palestinians and Allies at Microsoft (PAAM).

The event, called “Stop the boats now! 10,000+ bikers and friends illegal migrant protest ride to Dover” on Facebook, encouraged other activists to play their part as hundreds arrive in the coastal town.

Attending the protest on Sunday, Reform’s Dover & Deal chairman told GB News that illegal migration in the UK was “way beyond” a point of return.

“There’s a point with illegal migration in the country where we say enough’s enough, and we are way beyond that,” Paul King told GB News. “This is what today is about.”

Organising the protest online, the Kent Motor Heads Events wrote: “Nothing is and never will be done to stop the mass invasion of our tiny island.

“As bikers, we are known to do what we say we are going to do and will line the roads and the whole area of Dover in a mass protest to show how p****d off everyone is with this now.”

“It’s not racist. It’s not right-wing. So please don’t try and make out it is.”

The group added that they intended the event to be a “peaceful protest” and said that “there won’t be any trouble or anti-social behaviour” from demonstrators.

Attendees were encouraged to “ignore” anyone who attempted to “wind them up” as pro-immigration groups are expected to launch a counter-protest.

The event’s organisers have also emphasised that it would be a peaceful protest of “like-minded normal folk who have had enough”.
