West wanted Russia ‘to make mistakes’ and nuke Ukraine – Putin

Moscow has the means to achieve its objectives in the conflict without resorting to drastic measures, the Russian president has said

Russian President Vladimir Putin has accused Kiev’s Western backers of attempting to provoke Moscow into using nuclear weapons in Ukraine. He stressed that this drastic measure has not been necessary and expressed hope that it never will be.

In an interview with Russian journalist Pavel Zarubin aired on Sunday, Putin claimed that the West “wanted to provoke us, wanted to force us to make mistakes.”

“There has been no need to use [nuclear]weapons” in the Ukraine conflict, the Russian president said, adding: “I hope it won’t be necessary.”

Putin stated that Russia has “enough forces and means to bring what was started in 2022 to a logical conclusion” with a favorable outcome.

Last month, Sergey Shoigu, the secretary of Russia’s National Security Council, told TASS that nuclear weapons could be used “in the event of aggression” against Russia or Belarus, conventional or otherwise.

Shoigu, who previously served as defense minister, made the remarks amid ongoing discussions among European NATO member states on the potential deployment of troops to Ukraine after Kiev and Moscow reach a ceasefire agreement.

He reiterated that the presence of foreign troops in Ukraine could lead to a direct confrontation between Russia and NATO, potentially escalating into a nuclear war.

In his comments, Shoigu cited amendments to Russia’s nuclear doctrine which were authorized by Putin last November.

Under the updated doctrine, Moscow reserves the right to deploy its nuclear deterrent to prevent aggression by hostile powers and military blocs that possess weapons of mass destruction or large arsenals of conventional weapons. One potential scenario mentioned in the document that could trigger a response is confirmed intelligence about a massive incoming attack involving aircraft, missiles, and drones.

Russia would also consider all members of a bloc to be potential targets if one member state attacked the country. This would also apply to other nations providing their sovereign space to third parties to launch a strike.

In December 2024, Putin suggested that a “sufficient number” of Russia’s state-of-the-art Oreshnik hypersonic missiles would “simply put us on the brink of virtually no need to use nuclear weapons.”

Russia standing alone against West – Putin

The West has been long seeking to “finish off” Russia and partition it into several smaller countries, Vladimir Putin has said

Russia is standing alone against the West, which is waging an “existential war” against the country, President Vladimir Putin has said.

Putin made the remarks in a documentary titled ‘Russia. Kremlin. Putin. 25 years,’ filmed by Rossiya-1 broadcaster and released on Sunday. The film marks the 25-year anniversary of Putin becoming the country’s president for the first time. He inaugurated on May 7, 2000.

The documentary features conversations between Putin and journalist Pavel Zarubin on various matters, including the hostilities between Ukraine and Russia, as well as a broader conflict between Moscow and the West.

“Russia is essentially standing alone against the collective West. This required a serious attitude to the possible development of the situation in this particular sense,” Putin stated.

It has been clear from the early 2000s that the West has been acting “insidiously” against Russia, speaking about one thing and doing the opposite, Putin noted. The West’s failure to hear Russia’s repeated warnings, as well as its refusal to fully recognize the country’s sovereignty and respect its national interests, has ultimately led to the ongoing crisis, the president explained.

“This ‘civilized world’ decided that Russia had weakened, historical Russia called the Soviet Union had collapsed, and the remaining parts needed to be finished off. The largest of them was the Russian Federation, and it also needed to be partitioned into 4-5 pieces.I was responsible for the future of the country. Of course, I began working to ensure that this never happened,” he said.

Moscow has repeatedly described the hostilities in Ukraine as a Western proxy war against Russia, in which Ukrainians are being used as “cannon fodder.” Russian officials have argued that the US and other Western powers intentionally escalated tensions by disregarding Moscow’s security concerns over NATO’s expansion in Eastern Europe and its growing military cooperation with Ukraine.

=Russia and the collective West ended up locked into an “existential war,” Putin stressed, adding that many in the West have now openly admitted that.Back in March, for instance, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio described the conflict as “frankly, a proxy war between nuclear powers – the United States, helping Ukraine, and Russia” and said the West should abandon its dead-end strategy of propping up Kiev “for as long as it takes.”

No Ukraine in EU without Budapest’s approval – Orban

The prime minister has engaged in a war of words with Vladimir Zelensky, who suggested that Hungarians would welcome Kiev into the bloc

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky have clashed over Kiev’s prospects of joining the EU. Orban reminded the Ukrainian leader that Kiev has no chance of becoming part of the bloc without Budapest’s approval.

The war of words started on Friday whenOrban warned that Ukraine’s EU membership “would bankrupt the Hungarian economy,” describing Kiev’s potential accession asa “collective economic trap.”

The Hungarian leader also criticized the EU’s goal of admitting Ukraine by 2030, a target recently reiterated by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. “We know when they want to bring them in. It’s not some vague future; it’s here, knocking at our door,” he said. “Forget the fairy tales about when and how. They want to do it now, as fast as possible.”

Zelensky responded by citing domestic polling in Hungary. “70% support Ukraine joining the EU. That means people in Hungary are with us,”Zelensky claimed.

However, the poll conducted by the opposition Tisza Party to which Zelensky referred showed only 58% support. An earlier poll by the Hungarian newspaper Nepszava showed even lower figures, with 47% in favor and 46% against.

Orban fired back at Zelensky on X, writing: “What the Hungarian people think is not decided by the president in Kiev or the bureaucrats in Brussels. There is no Ukrainian EU accession without Hungary. Every Hungarian will have their say on this. Whether you like it or not. That’s how we do things here.”

All EU member states must unanimously approve any new country joining the bloc.Hungary has repeatedly cited widespread graft and minority rights issues as reasons to oppose Ukraine’s fast-trackmembership, with Orban at one point describing the nation as “one of the most corrupt countries in the world.”

Ukraine, which has designated EU membership as a national priority, formally applied to join the bloc in February 2022, just days after the escalation of hostilities with Russia. Despite support from several EU members, the timeline for Ukraine’s membership remains uncertain.Brussels has cited the need for Kiev to undertake significant legal, political, and economic reforms.

(I think the EU used this as a bone to pull Ukraine on fighting more war with Russia, many diplomats are opposed, but they say they are for it. They would be taking in an eternal welfare state.)

Trump speaks out on potential third term

The US president has ruled out seeking reelection in 2028, stating he would prefer “a great Republican” to carry forward

US President Donald Trump has ruled out running for office for a third term, suggesting he would like “a great Republican” to succeed him.

The president made the remarks on Sunday in an interview with NBC News when asked about repeated suggestions he might seek reelection. Such a move would require a major overhaul of the US electoral system, given the presidential terms are limited to two only by the US Constitution.

Trump claimed that while “many people” want him to run for office again, he will not seek reelection. He also appeared to question the nature of the restrictions on the number of terms.

“So many people want me to do it. I have never had requests so strong as that. But it’s something that, to the best of my knowledge, you’re not allowed to do. I don’t know if that’s constitutional, that they’re not allowing you to do it or anything else,” he said.

The earlier remarks on the matter sparked fears that Trump could ultimately opt to rewire the whole US electoral system to try and stay in power. Multiple high-profile Republicans, however, have insisted the president was only joking about a third turn.

The concerns were reinforced by the emergence of a new line of ‘TRUMP 2028’ merchandise on his official campaign store last month. The store offers baseball caps and T-shirts, featuring ‘TRUMP 2028’ and ‘Rewrite the Rules’ slogans.

The US president appeared to distance himself from the merchandise despite its availability at his official store.

“There are many people selling the 2028 hat, but this is not something I’m looking to do. I’m looking to have four great years and turn it over to somebody. Ideally, a great Republican, a great Republican to carry it forward. But I think we’re going to have four years and I think four years is plenty of time to do something really spectacular,” he said.

Asked about a potential successor, Trump said it was too early to endorse one. The US administration and the Republican Party have several prominent individuals to pick from, the president suggested.

“I think [the party is] so strong, and I think we have tremendous people. I think we have a tremendous group of people. We talked about a number of them. You look at Marco. You look at J.D. Vance, who’s fantastic. You look at I could name 10, 15, 20 people right now just sitting here,” he said.

White House Celebrates ‘Star Wars’ May 4th Day by Trolling ‘Radical Left Lunatics’: ‘You’re Not the Rebellion — You’re the Empire’

Warner Todd Huston4 May 2025

The White House shared a Star Wars, May 4th Day image with an immigration message calling those who oppose the president’s policies “radical left lunatics” who are fighting to bring dangerous criminals back into the U.S.

The post also featured a bulked-up image of Trump holding a light saber and surrounded by U.S. flags and eagles.

“Happy May the 4th to all, including the Radical Left Lunatics who are fighting so hard to to bring Sith Lords, Murderers, Drug Lords, Dangerous Prisoners, & well known MS-13 Gang Members, back into our Galaxy. You’re not the Rebellion—you’re the Empire,” the message states.

It concludes, “May the 4th be with you.”

The second Trump presidency has featured many images geared to troll the left. On Saturday, for instance, Trump reposted an amusing AI-produced image of himself dressed as the Pope as Catholics begin the process of selecting a new leader.

In another case meant to troll the left, the White House hung a framed issue of the New York Post featuring a full-page image of Trump’s mug shot.

A different example of Trump’s penchant for trolling the left was seen in February when he posted a Truth Social post saying that New York City’s “congestion pricing is dead” and then adding, “long live the king.” The post sparked outrage from liberals who were incensed that Trump was calling himself a king.

Pollster: Media Pushing Fake Polls to Pressure Congress

JEFF POOR4 May 2025

Friday, during Fox News Channel’s “Hannity,” Trafalgar Group pollster Robert Cahaly called out so-called “fake polls” intended to pressure congressional Republicans to back away from the support of President Donald Trump’s agenda.

“You know, it was interesting to watch the focus group, Robert, with Van Jones, that I had in the opening monologue,” host Sean Hannity said. “And you know, people are not regretting voting for Donald Trump and then to watch their polls to say, yeah, if the election were held again today, Trump would still wipe the floor with Kamala Harris or probably any other Democrat for that matter. So, on the one hand, they’re trying to say one thing, to create a false image. Why are they doing that? Are they trying to divide Trump with congressional Republicans and senators to stymie his agenda?”

“That’s exactly why they’re doing it, Cahaly replied. “They realize that, you know, Washington is full of political animals, and if they can convince, you know, the people in Congress that Trump is somehow becoming more toxic, then they can damage his agenda. But the fact is, the people in Congress are smart. They know what a real poll is. They know what a fake poll is.They’ve seen this. I mean, it would be like if you had a prognosticator who continued the last three years called the postseason wrong, you don’t listen to what they say in the — in the regular season, you just discard it, and so, it’s really this is a media consumption thing. I keep hearing about hard data and soft data. Well, the soft data is flawed.”

He continued, “I mean the hard data is what you’ve been talking about that this — all this talk of the economy is in huge trouble, the public doesn’t think that, in this talk that people regret their votes for Trump, the Van Jones focus group showed it, the Frank Luntz focus group showed it,= it’s all be — they’re not backing off their decisions. Even though they’re being flooded with people telling them they made the wrong decision and it was the wrong thing — and Trump is doing the wrong thing, and fake polls, they still aren’t backing off. And that is an onslaught that no other president’s had to deal with, and the fact that he’s still above water compared to most presidents is impressive.”==

Report: Democrats Skeptical About Kamala Harris 2028 Presidential Run

Amy Furr4 May 2025

Some Senate Democrats are reportedly being cautious about the possibility of failed 2024 presidential candidate former Vice President Kamala Harris running for the White House again in 2028.

One Democrat senator who did not want to be identified said “No” when asked if Harris should try again, adding that American voters were heard in November and it was time the former vice president moved on to other things, the Hill reported Sunday

Stephen Miller: It Would Have Been the End of the American Republic if Kamala Harris Won:

The outlet continued:

Sen. John Hickenlooper (D-Colo.), who ran for president in 2020, doesn’t necessarily see Harris as a frontrunner, even though polls show her leading the pack of potential candidates because of her high name ID, but said he thinks she could add “valuable perspective to the political debate.”…

Democrats who think Harris could be a viable general election candidate again in 2028 believe she was handicapped by having only a few weeks to campaign as the party’s nominee, since President Biden didn’t drop out of the race until July 21.

In March, Harris reportedly said “I am staying in this fight” when asked about what comes next for her politically, according to Breitbart News.

The same month, a Morning Consult survey found that Harris was leading her party’s 2028 potential presidential primary field, Breitbart News reported.

Stephen Miller Explains Why Kamala Harris Should Apologize to Americans:

“The survey asked both Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents who they would support in the 2028 presidential primary, and Harris — who lost handily to President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance in November — is leading the pack with 36 percent support,” the outlet said.

Meanwhile, Harris’s leftist running mate in the 2024 presidential election, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D), is apparently leaving open the possibility of a future run for the White House.

He said, “Look, I never had an ambition to be president or vice president. I was honored to be asked. If I feel I can serve, I will. And if nationally, people are like, ‘Dude we tried you, and look how that worked out,’ I’m good with that.”

The Hill report comes after internal Democrat polling showed the party was experiencing a brand collapse, per Breitbart News.

Watch: Rosie O’Donnell Claims President Trump Suffering from ‘Cognitive Decline’

Warner Todd Huston4 May 2025

Actress and former The View co-host, Rosie O’Donnell, who moved to Ireland after the election, claimed President Donald Trump has suffered a serious “cognitive decline” in a rant she posted to TikTok.

In her post to fans, the comedienne who is now resident of Ireland claimed that video of Trump’s recent speeches show he is no longer in command of his mental faculties.

“When are people going to start to realize how much he is in a cognitive decline,” O’Donnell rambled, “how he can’t form coherent thoughts or sentences?”

“He had a speech the other day and he couldn’t say the word ‘anonymous.’ He was like, ‘It was a menon — menon — menominee…’ Something is very off with him,” for former The View host exclaimed. (That was Bidan.)

The extremist, left-winger then added, “You know, there’s a 25th Amendment or — isn’t that what it is, when you can say our president is not with it enough anymore to be the leader of the free world? And aren’t we there? Aren’t we there?”

@rosie big ol ramble – have a great weekend #dublin♬ original sound – Rosie ODonnell

O’Donnell then attacked the president’s supporters.

“And the delusion is deep with his followers, I have to say. I don’t quite understand it. This rich man who is desecrating all that we hold sacred in the United States of America, and these people are still cheering for him and, you know, writing posts about, you know, ‘Terry Moran is bad and Trump owned him.’ Did you watch that interview? Trump did not own him. Trump was a petty bully on a child playground. I mean, come on, everybody, everybody, get together. Willful blindness has to end. And pray for us, ‘cause we’re gonna need it,” she ranted.

O’Donnell may want to try and convince fans that she feels the president’s decline is recent, but she has been saying these same things for close to a decade already. She made similar comments back in May of 2017, for instance, when she claimed that a Tweet Trump posted at the time “shows his seriously declining mental health.”

The election denier and former TV host recently moved from the U.S. to Ireland claiming that she felt “unsafe” living in America in the wake of Donald Trump’s massive 2024 election victory.

She also admitted that the move to Ireland was planned with help from her therapist.

Last month, O’Donnell, who rarely posts anything to social media without bashing Trump and his supporters and who also goes on anti-Trump rants in every interview, insisted on a podcast with disgraced former CNN correspondent Jim Acosta that it is Trump who is obsessed with her, and not the other way around.

https://www.breitbart.com/entertainment/2025/05/04/watch-rosie-odonnell-claims-president-trump-suffering-from-cognitive-decline/

Trump hasn’t mentioned her name for years, who is the one obsessed? She is pathetic. And worse because she is in Ireland, where no one cares who she is.
