California Revises Population Growth Upward, Citing Immigration Surge

California has significantly revised its population estimates upward, crediting a larger-than-expected influx of international immigrants for reversing recent trends of population decline, according to Just the News.

Governor Gavin Newsom framed the shift as a testament to California’s enduring appeal: “People from across the nation and the globe are coming to the Golden State to pursue the California Dream, where rights are protected and people are respected.”

According to the state Department of Finance (DOF), the population grew by 108,000 in 2024, bringing the total to approximately 39.5 million residents. The key driver was an upward revision of immigration figures, with 277,468 more immigrants arriving between 2021 and 2024 than previously estimated. This shift turned 2023’s reported population decline into net growth and further boosted 2024’s numbers.

Meanwhile, domestic outmigration continues but is slowing. The DOF reported that California lost 197,016 residents to other states in 2024, down from 249,308 in 2023. Natural increase—births minus deaths—also contributed, rising modestly from 105,550 to 114,805 over the same period.

The Just the News report says that out of California’s 482 cities, 241 saw population gains, 240 experienced declines, and one—Morro Bay—held steady. Among the state’s ten most populous counties, only Contra Costa in the East Bay reported a net loss, shedding just 24 residents.

Despite the population rebound, questions remain about the state’s fiscal outlook. Earlier Census data revealed that those leaving California generally earn more than those arriving, with outmigration from mid-2021 to mid-2022 causing a net loss of $24 billion in personal income. This demographic shift raises concerns that increased population won't necessarily translate into higher tax revenues.

Compounding the issue, California’s Legislative Analyst’s Office warned in November 2024 that the state has “no capacity” for new spending and is on track for annual deficits rising to $30 billion by 2026, as expenditures outpace stagnant revenue growth.

HHS Investing $500 Million To Develop Universal Vaccines

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is investing half a billion dollars into a project that seeks to develop universal vaccinations for numerous viruses, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal.

The project is called “Generation Gold Standard.” It seeks to use chemically inactivated whole viruses, which is how flu vaccines were created decades ago. Currently, flu vaccines contain synthetic viral proteins or pieces of viruses.

The goal is to create these vaccines with such technology that are “universal,” meaning they will protect against multiple strains of a virus, like the flu, coronavirus, and RSV.

The new project would shift HHS from its current COVID projects and use funding from larger cuts the department has already made.

For example, The Journal noted that under former President Joe Biden, HHS developed a $5 billion project called NextGen, which studied new COVID vaccines. Under HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., NextGen has been deemed “wasteful,” and several of the projects within NextGen have been given stop-work orders.

Generation Gold Standard will give the American public “a cost-effective, accountable alternative” to COVID vaccines and therapeutics, an HHS spokesperson told the Journal.

Next year, the project aims to begin trials for a universal flu vaccination, which would protect against numerous strains. Another goal is for trials for a universal coronavirus vaccine to start by 2026, “with FDA approval targeted for 2029.”

Two scientists with senior roles in the project are Dr. Matthew Memoli, the principal deputy director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and Dr. Jeffery Taubenberger, acting director of NIH’s infectious-diseases institute.

“Our commitment is clear: every innovation in vaccine development must be grounded in gold standard science and transparency,” Secretary Kennedy said in a statement.

Under Kennedy, HHS has already made shifts in funding for vaccinations. For example, NIH will stop spending money to determine why Americans hesitate to get vaccines. NIH is terminating or scaling back more than 40 related grants and has said that such spending no longer aligns with NIH priorities.

Major Corporations Are Still Funding Abortion With Your Money

The culture is slowly returning back to sane – it’s norming, if you will. But despite winning some major conservative victories in recent months, it will take decades, if not centuries, to rid the nation of the worst remnants of unchecked progressive power.

Here’s one perfect example: abortion tourism.

No, it’s not some deranged itinerary item from your local Satanic travel guide. “Abortion tourism” is the practice of pregnant women traveling to a state with fewer restrictions on abortion, and some major corporations are paying for their employees to cross state lines to procure abortions. It began when many red states began protecting unborn life following the overturning of Roe v. Wade in 2022 and continues to this day.

These companies – including big names like Amazon, Apple, Starbucks, Meta, Walmart, Citigroup, and others – are perfectly content to fund the killing of the unborn children of their employees.

In the wake of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health decision in June of 2022, dozens of major corporations implemented or expanded employee benefit programs to cover travel expenses for out-of-state abortions.

Some companies offer up to $4,000 per instance. Others have added these benefits to HR portals and employee handbooks. Dick’s Sporting Goods said it will reimburse as much as $4,000 in abortion travel costs “to the nearest location that care is legally available” for workers, their spouses and dependents.

These companies are willing to invest thousands to ensure employees can kill their unborn children, regardless of what state they live in. For example, cosmetics company Estee Lauder put out a message saying they are committed to providing employees with “comprehensive benefit programs” to make “health decisions,” including “the coverage of travel and lodging necessary to access reproductive healthcare options.”

It may all be cloaked in lingo and jargon, but the overall messaging is crystal clear. They want to help employees kill their unborn children efficiently.

Every time you purchase an item from one of these woke corporations, that money is showing a little bit of support for ghoulish endeavors like “abortion tourism.” Sure, Meta has backed off the overt censorship of free speech, and Walmart walked back DEI initiatives. Target turned its monthlong Pride celebration into a shell of its former self. But despite these outward concessions to normal Americans, these companies are still quietly doing the work of the radical Left behind closed doors.

In these confusing times, it’s more important than ever to support companies that share the same values. At Jeremy’s Razors, we’re always focused on offering a quality product that doesn’t compromise on values. No ESG nonsense, no DEI quotas, and certainly no secret funding for abortion.

We don’t just say we support life. We live it, promote it, and protect it. And we believe businesses should be in the business of supporting employees and serving customers, not financially aiding the destruction of America’s unborn children.

We’re here to ensure you get a great shave—and the peace of mind that your money isn’t underwriting a cause you fundamentally oppose. And right now you can save up to 25% on all Jeremy’s Women’s products.

Supporting life means recognizing the dignity of every human being, born and unborn. It means valuing the family, supporting real healthcare, and building a culture that lifts people up instead of treating life as disposable. If that sounds old-fashioned, good. We embrace it.

Stop spending your hard-earned dollars at companies that fund abortions. Spend your money with Jeremy’s instead. Your face — and your values — deserve better.
