Anon's rant on shrink-flation in car batteries

Anon has been replacing car batteries.

All the "guides" from Walmart, Autozone, O'Reilly's, etc, have been suggesting smaller batteries than OEM size.

What originally came with a group 27 battery now gets replaced with a group 24, etc.

And batteries last two years instead of six years.

Anon hit up four different stores yesterday searching for an OEM spec battery for anon's (very common) car.

It was unobtanium.

Pay attention to what these assholes are selling.

Anon is going to have to special order a battery for a 3/4 ton Dodge Ram because it can't be found within a fifty mile radius.

In farm country

To be clear, anon wasn't just talking about one car.

Couldn't find the right battery for a second gen Tundra, but found one that will work with a bit of Dremel modification.

Second gen Dodge Cummins battery was complete unobtanium.

>You can sometimes restore (recondition) old car and truck batteries.

Not the same.

Seems like the rules are rigged to give battery suppliers lighter (crappy) replacements in order to increase fuel economy.

You get what you're willing to live with.

Anon is willing to burn a dozen gallons of fuel to get the right size of battery for anon's car.

And will hopefully be paid back with not having to replace it in 2-3 years.

You assholes don't imagine just how bad things are.

Trump announced 100% tariffs against foreign films.

Do you assholes have any idea what that's going to do to anon's favorite Hallmark series?
