Happy National Astronaut Day! In APOLLO 13 (1995), Tom Hanks portrays mission commander Jim Lovell. The real Jim Lovell has a cameo as the captain of USS Iwo Jima who greets the recovered astronauts. Lovell wore his actual Navy uniform for the scene.
