Where are those 'New World Order' murals that used to be at Denver’s airport?
As construction continues in the Great Hall, 9NEWS asked the airport’s CEO what is planned for the murals that were taken down.

DENVER — Since the early 1990s, a series of murals that were on display at the Denver International Airport have captivated visitors and especially conspiracy theorists, who believed they represented a "New World Order" or the Illuminati.
The mural panels are the work of Chicano artist Leo Tunguma, who painted various scenes of war and children from different countries uniting.
During a press conference Tuesday about the Great Hall construction update, airport CEO Phil Washington said the airport still has the murals, and they are expected to be displayed again.
“We have those. We have them in storage,” Washington said. “They will come back. We are going to figure out where they are best positioned, but we see those coming back.”
The murals were taken down when the airport began construction on the Great Hall. Construction has been ongoing at the airport since 2018 with a budget of about $1.3 billion.
One of the mural panels is titled “Children of the World Dream of Peace.” A depiction of world peace is the original intent of the artwork and not some sort of conspiracy, Tunguma told Rocky Mountain PBS in 2023.
It’s unknown yet where airport officials plan to place Tunguma’s artwork. The public-facing construction should be done by the end of 2027, Washington said.

US Department of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced Thursday that the Federal Railroad Administration will replace the MTA with Amtrak, the owner of Penn Station.
