UK Govt Plans to End Compensation Program for Child Sex Abuse Victims: Report.

Britain’s leftist Labour government has reportedly decided to cancel a compensation scheme for victims of child sexual abuse in England and Wales. This program, initially promised by the previous Conservative government, was intended to provide financial redress to survivors.

The Home Office, roughly equivalent to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), in its report titled Tackling Child Sexual Abuse: Progress Update, cited financial constraints as the reason for halting further steps on the proposal, stating that “in the current fiscal environment, this recommendation is very difficult to take forward”—despite vast sums being found to lavish on hotels and other accommodation for illegal aliens.

The scheme was first suggested following recommendations from the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA) led by Alexis Jay. While similar redress programs have been implemented in Northern Ireland and Scotland, victims in England and Wales are left without this avenue for compensation.

Upon entering NIH meetings, I sometimes caught a favored capo slouching down in his chair after dutifully raising Fauci’s own, so that, feet dangling, the diminutive Don would appear the tallest man in the room. From such commanding heights, the Boss often humiliated staff members, both women and men, in expletive-laden tirades. To avoid this wrath, his minions worked feverishly to anticipate his every desire and satisfy a relentless ambition to expand the Fauci’s scientific dominion.

I admired Fauci in his earlier career because I thought he was a strong leader with a vision for global research. But I can’t say that anymore.

Several incidents caused me to change my view beginning in March 2020 when a group of renowned virologists published a paper in Nature Medicine that falsely concluded a lab accident could not have started the COVID pandemic. A year later, I watched in disbelief as Dr. Fauci testified before Congress where he strongly denied allegations about dangerous virus research he was funding at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. I realized that the Fauci-led NIAID had participated in a classic Washington ploy: satisfy your critics by pretending to regulate activity that can harm the public, while actually letting your friends do whatever they want. In this case, I’m talking about gain-of-function virus studies, research that should end tomorrow to protect us from future man-made pandemic disasters.

Major Israeli Attack Destroys Yemen's Sanaa International Airport

Israel's air force has continued a second day of large-scale attacks on Yemen, targeting the leadership and infrastructure of the Ansarallah movement, or Houthis, after the Sunday Houthi ballistic missile strike on Israel's Ben Gurion international airport in Tel Aviv.

Huge plumes of black smoke have been observed rising above the Houthi-controlled airport area in the capital of Sana'a. Prior Israeli strikes, with US backing, focused on the vital port of Hodeidah.

This warning was given because Israel is fully aware that this is a civilian aviation hub. However, Israeli officials have accused the Houthis of using it as a military base and staging ground.

"We call upon you to evacuate the airport area Sana'a International Airport immediately and warn everyone in your vicinity of the need to evacuate this area immediately," the IDF's Arabic spokesman warned earlier Tuesday. "Failure to evacuate and move away from the place exposes you to danger."

Several power stations in the area of the Yemeni capital have also been hit, initial reports say. "Among the targets were the Dhahban and Haiz power stations, a cement plant in Amran, and civilian aircraft and terminals at the airport," according to regional media.

Second Night Of Moscow Drone Raids Halt Flights Ahead Of Major Military Parade

For the second straight day, Ukrainian drones targeted the capital of Moscow overnight, just as Russia is preparing to celebrate he 80th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet Union and its allies over Nazi Germany in World War Two, or Victory Day. The Kremlin has said it is expecting to host 29 world leaders for the May 9th parade.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced that the newest attack involved at least 19 drones being intercepted while they were inbound to Moscow "from different directions." The assault, coming the day after several drones halted air traffic at a major Moscow international airport, resulted in no destruction or casualties.

In total some 105 Ukrainian drones were intercepted across Russia overnight, according to Russia’s defense ministry. Despite these attacks, the Kremlin says that President Putin's May 8-10 ceasefire is still on the table.

"There will be no hostilities. However, if there is no reciprocity from the Kiev regime and they continue to attack our positions or facilities, we will retaliate," Putin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

It's a sensitive moment given the major military parade through Red Square will be attended by various heads of state, including China’s Xi Jinping. Obviously safety of the skies is paramount, also as planes bring foreign officials into Russia.

Palantir Partners With The Department Of Defense On Controversial AI Project Maven

NATO recently announced a partnership with Palantir to acquire the controversial Maven Smart System as part of an effort to complete a “digital transformation” of NATO.

In late March, the North American Treaty Organization (NATO) Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) and Palantir Technologies Inc. announced a new agreement for the Palantir Maven Smart System NATO (MSS NATO) to be deployed by NATO’s Allied Command Operations (ACO).

Palantir was co-founded by Alex Karp and Peter Thiel, the Technocrat-Zionists who also happen to be Steering Committee members of the Bilderberg Group.

The new deal will see NCIA partner with Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) and Palantir to deliver Maven Smart System NATO to the Warfighter. A move which NCIA general manger Ludwig Decamps says will provide “customized state-of-the-art AI capabilities to the Alliance” and allow NATO to “operate effectively and decisively.”

The Maven Smart System (MSS) uses AI-generated algorithms and memory learning capabilities to scan and identify enemy systems.

Palantir’s MSS NATO makes use of “cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI)” for core military operations, including using large language models (LLMs) for generative and machine learning.

Shon Manasco, Senior Counselor at Palantir Technologies, said the arrangement with NCIA and SHAPE will “bolster deterrence by deploying an AI-enabled warfighting platform”.

General Markus Laubenthal, SHAPE Chief of Staff, said Maven will allow NATO to be “more agile, adaptable, and responsive to emerging threats”.

SHAPE is the headquarters and commander of NATO’s ACO based near Mons, Belgium.

Breaking Defense reported on the new partnership, noting that “NATO has been bedeviled for decades by its member nations using incompatible technology, ranging from secure radios that can’t communicate with foreign models to fuel nozzles that don’t fit in foreign tanks.” Maven is expected to combine databases which were previously “siloed” or separated and streamline coordination and planning across NATO’s 32 member states.

While NATO’s purchase of Palantir’s MSS is new, the Maven system has already been in use by certain US military outfits, including the Joint Staff in the Pentagon, the Stuttgart-based European Command, and in the Ukraine-Russia conflict the US has used Maven to spot Russian defense outposts. In April 2024, Palantir was also awarded a $480 million deal by the Army for the MSS.

Judge Boasberg Keeps Getting Assigned Trump Cases. Lawmakers Want to Know Why.

Judge James Boasberg, the chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, has repeatedly been assigned cases to do with President Donald Trump's second term, as Townhall has been covering. Congress has taken notice, and the House last month passed a bill to rein in rogue judges like Boasberg and others. Questions still remain, though, and on Monday, Townhall obtained a letter from Reps. Jim Jordan (R-OH), Darrell Issa (R-CA), and Chip Roy (R-TX) regarding such concerns. The letter was sent to Angela D. Caesar, the Clerk of the Court for the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

As the letter begins in part by mentioning, the second Trump term has been hit with over 30 nationwide injunctions, with the term having started just over 100 days ago.

"Many of these nationwide injunctions have raised concerns that Article III judges are exceeding their constitutional authority by replacing the policy decisions of the duly elected President with their own preferences, eroding public trust in the integrity and fairness of our judicial system. Many high-profile cases challenging policy decisions of the Trump Administration have been filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia (District Court)," the letter mentions early on, referencing a key concern as well as previewing how Congress may look to be doing more. "As Congress considers potential legislative reforms to address the abuse of nationwide injunctions and adjust the national distribution and local assignment of cases challenging Executive Branch policy decisions, we write to request information about the District Court’s assignment of cases."

Among the cases that Boasberg has been assigned include not only the administration's use of the Alien Enemies Act (AEA) for deportations, but also to do with administration officials' handling of the Signal app. The letter notes that Boasberg was assigned such "high-profile" cases less than two weeks apart. He was also assigned cases to do with the Department of Government of Efficiency and federal funding for programs that violate civil rights laws. While the latter was dismissed, this was due to the plaintiff's request.

US to Upgrade, Transfer Missile Defense from Israel to Ukraine

The Donald Trump administration is moving forward with a Joe Biden-era plan to move a retired Patriot missile system from Israel to Ukraine. Washington will upgrade the air defense platform before transferring control to Kiev.

The New York Times reported the move on Sunday, citing four current and former US officials who confirmed that Trump planned to go through with sending a Patriot system to Kiev, despite his stated objections to continuing what he calls “Biden’s war” in Ukraine.

The plan to transfer a Patriot battery would also see Germany or Greece send a second system, giving Kiev a total of 10, though one official said two of them are currently not functioning. A Ukrainian official admitted on Friday that his forces lacked adequate air defenses.

The Patriot system set to be transferred from Israel is an older model that will be upgraded. The US recently deployed a Patriot and multiple THAAD air defense systems to the Middle East to defend Israel.

While Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has offered to buy more air defense platforms, Kiev is still largely dependent on aid transfers from Washington. However, last week, a natural resources deal between Washington and Kiev was signed that could give Ukraine access to funds to buy more American weapons.

Trump met Zelensky at the Vatican during Pope Francis’s funeral. The Ukrainian left the meeting feeling he had successfully swayed his American counterpart to take a harder line on Russian President Vladimir Putin. Following the meeting, Trump criticized Putin for targeting Ukrainian cities in a missile attack.

US Approves $310M Training & Sustainment For Ukraine's F-16s After Minerals Deal Signed

The State Department has approved a potential $310.5 million arms sale to Ukraine for training and sustainment of the country’s fleet of US-made F-16 fighter jets, signaling that the Trump administration is preparing to provide long-term military support.

The Pentagon’s Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) said the sale will include aircraft modifications, upgrades, personnel training, maintenance, sustainment support, and other types of equipment.

Several of the US’s European allies have provided Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets, and the US, under the Biden administration, was involved in training Ukrainian pilots. A report from The War Zone just revealed that the US has been providing Ukraine with decommissioned, non-operational F-16 fighter jets.

A US Air Force spokesman told The War Zone that the Air Force has "supported the sustainment of European-donated F-16s to Ukraine by providing disused and completely non-operational F-16s to Ukraine for parts."

"These F-16s were retired from active US use and are not flyable. Importantly, they lack critical components such as an engine or radar and could not be reconstituted for operational use," the statement said.

The approval of the F-16 training and sustainment deal came a few days after the Trump administration moved forward with its very first arms sale for Ukraine by notifying Congress of its plans to approve the export of unspecified "defense articles" worth $50 million or more.

That first sale is being moved forward as a direct commercial sale (DCS), a deal where the State Department gives a private company permission to sell weapons directly to a foreign government. The F-16 training and sustainment deal is a Foreign Military Sale (FMS), which involves the US government in the sale.

The US-Ukraine minerals deal signed last week also signals that the US is planning to provide long-term military support.

India strikes ‘terrorist targets’ in Pakistan

The strikes are aimed at “terrorist camps” and not at the Pakistani armed forces, New Delhi has said

India announced early on Wednesday it had launched “Operation Sindoor” against “terrorists” in Pakistan and the Pakistani-held part of disputed Kashmir. New Delhi said it had already hit nine targets, insisting that they consisted of “terrorist infrastructure” only.

“Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in selection of targets and method of execution,” the Indian government said in a statement.

On April 22, a deadly attack in Baisaran Valley left 26 civilians dead. India has held Pakistan indirectly responsible, alleging cross-border militant involvement. The Resistance Front, believed to be tied to the Pakistani-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, initially claimed responsibility for the attack, though later reports indicated that the group distanced itself from it. Islamabad has vehemently denied that it had any role in the attack and has called for an impartial probe.

The nuclear-armed South Asian neighbors have fought four wars since both gained independence from the UK in 1947.
