Taiwanese Officials and Community Leaders in California Urge WHO to Include Taiwan
The WHO’s highest decision-making body has excluded Taiwan from participation since 2017 amid political pressure from the Chinese Communist Party.
In a joint press conference held on May 3, more than a dozen Taiwan-affiliated government and community organizations in Northern California called on the World Health Organization (WHO) to allow Taiwan’s participation.
The event, hosted at the Culture Center of the San Francisco Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Milpitas, was held ahead of the 78th World Health Assembly (WHA) scheduled to take place May 19–27 in Geneva.
TECO is the de facto embassy of Taiwan’s government in the United States.
The WHA, the WHO’s highest decision-making body, has excluded Taiwan from participation since 2017 amid political pressure from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). At the May 3 event, Taiwanese officials and community leaders challenged Beijing’s narrative and urged the international community to uphold inclusivity in global health governance.
“China has long distorted U.N. General Assembly Resolution 2758 and WHA Resolution WHA25.1 on the international stage,” Jenny Guo, head of the press division at the San Francisco TECO, said at the conference. “Neither resolution mentions Taiwan or states that Taiwan is part of China. Nor do they authorize the People’s Republic of China to represent Taiwan in the WHO.”
Resolution 2758 was passed by the United Nations during its 1,976th plenary meeting in October 1971, recognizing the People’s Republic of China as the legitimate representative of China at the United Nations, but it does not mention Taiwan directly. All subsequent decisions by U.N. agencies, including WHA Resolution WHA25.1, have been in line with Resolution 2758.

In a historic policy shift, Germany’s new Merz-led government has effectively abolished open-border asylum entry by ordering immediate pushbacks of all illegal migrants at its national borders, ending nearly a decade of de facto mass migration policies that critics say have destabilized Europe.
Anyone seeking asylum must now apply in the first E.U. country they enter, in many cases, Greece. If they do not, they are to be turned back or deported.
3,000 additional officers will be sent to patrol and police Germany’s borders as well.
Federal Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt (CSU) issued the sweeping directive at midday Tuesday, authorizing German Federal Police to tighten border controls and escalate pushbacks for any non-citizen attempting to enter the country without valid documentation, even those requesting asylum.
Dobrint was quoted as saying they want to ‘send a signal’ to the world that the open borders policies of the past no longer apply to Germany.
Friedrich Merz, the newly installed Chancellor and longtime leader of Germany’s center-right CDU, has positioned himself as a course-correcting alternative to the Merkel era, pledging to restore order, enforce national sovereignty, and reclaim conservative voters disillusioned by years of open-border policies and technocratic globalism.
The German government has been trying to stop the rise of the “Alternatives for Germany” party, which the government labels as ‘far-right’ but which has opposed the country’s suicidal open borders policies.

Director Kash Patel Warned About Significance of DOJ Prosecutor to Take On the ‘Deep State’ – What Is Senator Tillis Hiding?
When President Donald Trump appointed a lead prosecutor in Washington DC, he may have not anticipated it would be as contentious as it has now turned out. Still, on January 20th, 2025, President Trump named former J6 defense attorney, Ed Martin, as interim DC U.S. Attorney, followed by a formal, permanent appointment on February 17th.
This appointment has turned out to be even more contentious than the appointment of Kash Patel, whose resume includes investigating Crossfire Hurricane and RussiaGate, working in counter-terrorism, and working as Chief of Staff to the Secretary of Defense. He also notably wrote a book laying out the blueprints for dismantling “the Establishment,” “Swamp,” “Deep State,” call it what you will, in Washington D.C. He called them, “Government Gangsters.”
Since Kash Patel was sworn in as Director of the FBI on February 21 and Pam Bondi as Attorney General on February 5th, many in the MAGA community have grown impatient with the lack of progress in investigations into weaponized law enforcement, lawfare, and criminal activity targeting President Trump and his base. Their frustrations can be seen throughout social media in comments on posts from Patel and AG Bondi, as well as posts from Deputy Director Dan Bongino.
But in the publication of Government Gangsters, Patel gave us some very specific insights into why there hasn’t been much in the way of investigations or indictments: the DC US Attorney’s Office.
President Trump has placed tremendous faith in Patel in the past. According to the book, Patel played a significant role in advising key appointments, including John Ratcliffe as Director of National Intelligence and Ric Grenell as National Security Advisor. Patel even called Ratcliffe from Air Force One to offer him the role of overseeing the national intelligence community on behalf of the President.
In Chapter 8, titled “Overhauling the FBI,” Patel emphasizes the significance of a DOJ prosecutor in FBI investigations:
“…the moment an FBI agent opens up an investigation, it should be done with the assent of a DOJ prosecutor. This is an extremely powerful way to curb the overreach of the FBI since FBI agents will only be able to investigate what DOJ lawyers allow them to investigate, not whatever they feel like looking into.”
Patel directly references the weaponization of the system against President Trump, citing FISA warrants obtained through false testimony and fabricated reports that allowed the FBI to spy on Trump’s campaign through staffer Carter Page.
At the time of the Carter Page FISA warrant in 2016–2017, Washington, D.C. Chief Judge James Emanuel “Jeb” Boasberg presided over the FISA Court. Ironically, Boasberg may now appoint an interim D.C. U.S. Attorney if Ed Martin’s 120-day term expires in May 2025 without a Senate-confirmed replacement, a process some argue improperly assigns an Article II executive function to an Article III judge.
Patel continued in the chapter:
“DOJ prosecutors are actually trained to know what evidence matters and what doesn’t. They know that you can’t just go around searching for evidence to manufacture a crime (and you certainly can’t manufacture evidence in order to justify warrants). Instead, the agency should be investigating crimes to find evidence of wrongdoing based on real probable cause.
…Some DOJ prosecutors are compromised as well, and similar to how the FBI shopped for a magistrate judge guaranteed to approve their warrant for the Mar-a-Lago raid, shady FBI agents could certainly shop around for DOJ prosecutors who they know will help them conduct their political witch hunts.”

Army Presents Congress With Plan to Reorganize Fighting Forces, Adapt to Changing Battles
The Army Transformation Initiative seeks to deliver new weapons systems, restructure current fighting formations, and cut aging programs.
U.S. Army leaders fielded questions from lawmakers on May 7 over their latest plan to prepare the fighting force and streamline their processes for adopting new technology and weapons systems for future conflicts.
Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll and Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George unveiled the Army Transformation Initiative in a May 1 statement. This initiative seeks to fulfill three objectives: provide new warfighting capabilities, restructure existing fighting formations, and cut aging programs and systems.
While the Army pursues innovation and readiness, lawmakers are wary of backing costly new programs that don’t fit the force’s needs or eliminating legacy programs.
Members of the House Appropriations Committee posed their questions and concerns about the initiative at a Wednesday oversight hearing.
The Army is seeking new warfighting capabilities, including a long-range missile program, new drone and counter-drone technologies, and a new and more easily upgraded version of the Abrams tank. They’re also working to advance the Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft program, which is meant to succeed the Black Hawk helicopter.
The Army also wants to add artificial intelligence to its command and control systems.
Rep. Steve Womack (R-Ark.) pressed the military leaders to consider canceled programs like the RAH-66 Comanche stealth attack helicopter and the troubled M10 Booker light tank program.
“These are the kinds of things that we have to avoid because we’re in a resource-constrained environment,” Womack said.
Driscoll described the Army Transformation Initiative as a way to escape the status quo of existing procurement methods.
“We’re not proud of the outcome of the Booker, but what we are trying to do is not fall prey to sunk cost fallacy, where, because we have invested all of these dollars into this machine that turned out to be inadequate, we’re going to keep purchasing it,” the Army Secretary said. “Instead, what we want to do is be completely transparent.”
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, directing the Army’s force reforms, recently called for the service to reduce its helicopter fleets and augment them with more drones, consolidate command structures, and divest some armored and aviation units.
House Appropriations Committee Ranking Member Rosa De Lauro (D-Conn.) questioned the Army’s plans for its Black Hawk helicopters. She referred to the Black Hawk, which entered service in 1979, as “The Army’s vertical lift platform par excellence” and noted that her state is a key manufacturing base for the program.
Driscoll responded that the Black Hawk doesn’t have enough range or speed to be effective in some theaters of potential conflict, such as the Indo-Pacific region.
George said the Army will retire some older Black Hawk versions and consider new systems to fill the helicopter’s many current mission roles.
De Lauro called their comments about the Black Hawk “very troubling.”
At another point in the hearing, Rep. David Valadao (R-Calif.) questioned whether a plan to downsize the Army’s armored vehicle units and adopt more high-mobility formations would leave soldiers reliant on vehicles with less protective armor.
George replied that the Army will continue to take a mixed approach with its land vehicles and infantry combat formations. He noted that certain larger armored vehicles provide greater protection, but are less mobile and more easily trapped.
“They get stuck. When you get stuck, you’re also a target,” the Army chief of staff said. “So I think it’s a mix, and that’s what we’re looking at inside of our formations.”

3 ‘Top 10’ Fugitives Captured in Less Than 3 Months, FBI says
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has captured three of the “Top 10 Most Wanted” fugitives in the world since President Donald Trump took office in January, FBI Director Kash Patel said on Wednesday.
“Three in less than three months,” Patel stressed during opening remarks before the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Wednesday.
Patel highlighted the major arrests as House lawmakers reviewed the proposed 2026 budget for the bureau.
The FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list was first established in March 1950 as a partnership with the news media. The FBI at the time acknowledged the need for the public’s assistance in tracking fugitives. The list was designed to publicize dangerous fugitives who might not otherwise receive any nationwide attention. According to the agency, 163 of the fugitives on the list have been captured or located as a result of citizen recognition.
The three fugitives captured by the FBI include an accused child rapist, an alleged murderer, and a senior leader of MS-13.
On Jan. 25, 2025, Donald Eugene Fields II was taken into custody following a routine police traffic stop in Florida. The fugitive was wanted on federal child sex trafficking charges and state charges of child rape. A warrant for his arrest was issued after he left his home and failed to show up for a court hearing in March 2022. Fields was added to the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list in May 2023.
On Jan. 30, 2025, Arnoldo Jimenez was caught by FBI agents in Monterrey, Mexico. Jimenez was wanted on first-degree murder charges in connection to the 2012 death of Estrella Carrera, who was found dead in her bathtub less than 48 hours after getting married. A state warrant was issued for his arrest after he was charged in the case. Later, a federal arrest warrant was issued after Jimenez was federally charged with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
On March 18, the FBI apprehended Francisco Javier Roman-Bardales. The alleged senior leader of the MS-13 gang was extradited from Mexico to face charges in the United States. Roman-Bardales was wanted for his alleged role in ordering violent acts against rival gang members and civilians. He was also allegedly involved in distribution and extortion schemes in the U.S. and El Salvador.
“The mission is a no-fail mission,” Patel said on Wednesday about FBI operations to track down fugitives and keep the country safe. “Because if we fail, then American lives will be endangered or lost.”
Patel told House appropriators on Wednesday that the bureau’s mission cannot continue without their investment and support, adding it needs funds for its nationwide operations and field offices across the country and to implement Trump’s agenda to aggressively crack down on criminal activity.
Patel said he plans to send 1,000 agents currently in the D.C. area into field offices across the country.
House Appropriations Democrats during the hearing pressed Patel on the fiscal year 2026 budget proposed by the Trump administration.
Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.) suggested that Patel seemed to admit that the budget requested by the administration is not enough to meet the needs of the agency, noting its nearly half-billion dollar cut. She asked Patel what positions he’s looking to cut under the proposed budget.
Patel said he’s working through the appropriations process to explain why the agency needs more funds than what was proposed.
“That’s the proposed budget, not by the FBI,” Patel said. “The proposed budget that I put forward is to cover us for $11.1 billion, which would not have us cut any positions.
Without the funds, Patel said, the FBI “risks making tradeoffs that jeopardize the safety of Americans.”
The FBI director maintained that the agency’s accomplishments since Trump took office, including the capture of three most wanted fugitives, are a testament to the FBI’s commitment to its mission in protecting the homeland.

Judge Declines to Drop Charges Against Gov. Hochul’s Former Top Aide in Chinese Spy Case
Linda Sun, a former deputy chief of staff to New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, was charged with acting as a Chinese agent last year.
A Brooklyn federal judge has ruled against a motion to drop the charges against the New York governor’s former aide, who is accused of acting as an agent of the Chinese regime, saying prosecutors had presented sufficient allegations that she knowingly used her position to advance Beijing’s interests.
On May 5, U.S. District Judge Brian Cogan issued an order denying a motion to dismiss the superseding indictment against Linda Sun, a former deputy chief of staff to New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, and her husband, Chris Hu.
Sun, who also worked under former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, was initially charged in September last year with violating the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), visa fraud, bringing in illegal immigrants, and conspiracy to commit money laundering. Hu was charged with conspiracy to commit money laundering, bank fraud, and misuse of means of identification.
The superseding indictment, which prosecutors filed in February, did not include new charges against Sun, but charged Hu with three new counts of money laundering.
Cogan dismissed the defendants’ argument that the superseding indictment “fails to state several essential elements of a FARA violation and fails to allege a FARA violation as a matter of law.”
The judge pointed to several incidents in the superseding indictment, including how Sun allegedly reminded a politician to publicly “thank the PRC government” for facilitating a donation of ventilators to the Greater New York Hospital Association in April 2020, at the request of a Chinese official.

The top executive in Frio County, home to about 18,000 residents, a county elections worker and a local resident were also among those indicted on May 1, Paxton said Wednesday. The charges expand an investigation that included raids last year on the homes of Latino campaign volunteers near San Antonio, including an 87-year-old woman, although none of them have been indicted.
Most of the six are charged with what is known in Texas as vote harvesting, a felony that often involves payment for collecting and dropping off other people's absentee ballots. Several of the officials indicted in Frio County are accused of using Cash App to pay for vote harvesting services.

BIBLICAL!!!!!!!! The New Beginning Starts Today’: Over 7,000 Baptized at Historic Event in California!
Thousands of people on Saturday made their public profession of faith in God during an incredible baptism event in Huntington Beach, California.
Over 7,000 were baptized in what is being called the biggest single-day baptism event in the nation’s history, Crosswalk.com reported.
“It was the second year in a row for the ‘Baptize California’ gathering, which saw 6,000 baptized along Huntington Beach last year but a record 7,750 this year,” the article said.
Attendees were baptized in the ocean, in portable baptistries, and they also took part in worship music.
The organization is planning another such event for June 8, stating that “our nation and the nations of the earth will bear witness that God is not done with America. It will be saved.”
Video footage shows people gathered near a large stage to enjoy worship and people shouting “We’re getting baptized!” as they lined up to enter the waters.
One woman said of God, “He saved me and he’s real. I’m living proof and I’m blessed to be one of his daughters”:
According to Crossway, the act of baptism is a sacrament also known as a covenant sign that is “integrally connected with the death and resurrection of Christ.”
More video footage shows attendees raising their hands after being baptized, praying for one another, and worshiping together.
Recording artist and worship leader Sean Feucht shared images of the event and said, “What good can come from California? Well, today the world will witness the largest recorded baptism in history! Revival is taking over Huntington Beach and it begins at noon!”
Organizers said the event was not about one church but those across the nation uniting to fulfill the Great Commission in the Bible.

Is This the Man Who Created Covid-19 in Fauci’s US Lab?
Top US virologist Ralph Baric engineered the Covid-19 virus SARS-CoV-2 in his lab at the University of North Carolina as part of his work in connection with the 2018 DEFUSE funding proposal. That’s the story that’s been going round the internet for some months now (and not just in alternative media) and it all looks very damning for Baric and those connected with his research.
Details of the DEFUSE project were first leaked by Major Joseph Murphy, an employee of US military research agency DARPA, in the summer of 2021 and further details of earlier drafts have come to light this month thanks to public record requests from U.S. Right to Know (USRTK).
In DEFUSE, Baric proposed to create a virus that was, to most intents and purposes, SARS-CoV-2. The proposal included inserting a furin cleavage site into a coronavirus spike protein, an order for the restrictive enzyme BsmBI, the search for a binding domain that would infect ACE2 human receptors and a requirement for a viral genome around 25% different to SARS.

Baric obtained a patent for such novel viruses in 2018, just as he was putting DEFUSE together. In DEFUSE he proposed to infect wild Chinese bats with his newly patented viruses.
Many regard this as case closed for the lab leak.
But this is not the full story. That’s because Baric’s DEFUSE proposal did not win the DARPA funding. And while it is rightly pointed out that, with or without the funding, much of the work was already in hand, it’s what happened next with the winning DARPA proposal where the story really gets interesting.
US researcher Jim Haslam has done an incredible job on his Substack article Reverse engineering the origins of SARS-CoV-2 documenting all the toings and froings among the virology community in connection with the creation of this peculiar virus and the subsequent cover-up. What follows is in large part indebted to his meticulous research, though any errors are of course my own.
The winning 2018 DARPA bid was for a project called PREEMPT led by Dr. Vincent Munster (pictured above) based at Anthony Fauci’s NIH Rocky Mountain Lab. Both PREEMPT and Baric’s losing DEFUSE project had the same basic idea: to try to prevent a (hypothetical) future pandemic by using an engineered SARS virus to vaccinate the bats from which it is believed such a virus was likely to spill over.
The idea being, of course, that the vaccinated bats would no longer be a reservoir for the virus, thus ‘defusing’ or ‘preempting’ the zoonotic spillover. Sounds crazy? Too right – far too much meddling with nature and placing too much faith in the ability of vaccines to prevent infection and transmission. But crazy or not, that’s what the scientists proposed, and PREEMPT won and DEFUSE lost.
The key difference between Baric’s DEFUSE and Munster’s PREEMPT – aside from PREEMPT coming in around $4 million cheaper at $10 million – is that rather than relying on spraying bat caves with a non-transmissible virus-vaccine, Munster’s plan involved making the virus-vaccine transmit between the bats via aerosols. This made it a self-spreading vaccine, able (in theory) to reach all the bats without humans having to go and find all their caves and spray them. The risks of such a plan should have been obvious. Indeed, Baric himself, who went awfully quiet after his DEFUSE project leaked in mid-2021, resurfaced in mid-2023 to say that such work involving engineering transmissible virus-vaccines was “too edgy” for him.
After the DARPA funding went to PREEMPT, Fauci rode to Baric’s rescue with a bumper $82 million programme called CREID, awarded in summer 2019, in which both Baric and Munster’s teams would cooperate in the research into Munster’s concept of self-spreading bat vaccines.

BREAKING: Trump Admin Invokes State Secrets Privilege to Block Attempt to Return Kilmar Abrego Garcia to US – Judge Xinis Responds
The Trump Administration on Wednesday invoked the state secrets privilege to block the attempt to return MS-13 gang member and wife beater Kilmar Abrego Garcia to the Unites States.
The Trump DOJ invoked the State Secrets Privilege in response to a federal judge’s order demanding details on Abrego Garcia’s incarceration at El Salvador’s CECOT prison.
US District Judge Paula Xinis, an Obama appointee, responded to the Trump Administration’s invocation of the state secrets privilege and ordered a formal briefing.
Both parties must submit briefs by Monday.
“The Court requires formal briefing of the Defendants’ invocations of privilege, principally the state secrets and deliberative process privileges, as discussed in ECF No. 112. Accordingly, by Monday May 12, 2025, the parties shall submit simultaneous briefs, not to exceed 25 pages exclusive of exhibits, addressing the legal and factual bases for the invocation of those privileges, including Plaintiff’s request for the Court to conduct in camera review of the withheld documents,” Judge Xinis wrote in a 2-page order reviewed by The Gateway Pundit.
This is the second time the Trump DOJ has invoked the state secrets privilege to push back on a radical judge’s demands.
In March the DOJ said it was exercising the State Secrets Privilege and informed Judge James Boasberg it will no longer provide him with any information related to deportation flights.
Boasberg, an Obama appointee, has been grilling DOJ lawyers about the Trump Administration’s move to deport dangerous Venezuelan aliens under the Alien Enemies Act.
Judge Boasberg said Trump’s invocation of the Alien Enemies Act to deport criminal aliens is “incredibly troublesome and problematic” and threatened the Trump Admin with consequences if they violate his order in the future.
The DOJ had enough of Judge Boasberg’s intrusive orders and invoked the State Secrets Privilege.
“The Executive Branch hereby notifies the Court that no further information will be provided in response to the Court’s March 18, 2025 Minute Order based on the state secrets privilege and the concurrently filed declarations of the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Homeland Security,” the DOJ wrote.
US Attorney General Pam Bondi told the judge that President Trump has plenary authority under Article II to remove from the homeland designated terrorists.
“This is a case about the President’s plenary authority, derived from Article II and the mandate of the electorate, and reinforced by longstanding statute, to remove from the homeland designated terrorists participating in a state-sponsored invasion of, and predatory incursion into, the United States. The Court has all of the facts it needs to address the compliance issues before it. Further intrusions on the Executive Branch would present dangerous and wholly unwarranted separation-of-powers harms with respect to diplomatic and national security concerns that the Court lacks competence to address,” the DOJ said.
“No more information is needed to resolve any legal issue in this case. Whether the planes carried one TdA terrorist or a thousand or whether the planes made one stop or ten simply has no bearing on any relevant legal issue. The need for additional information here is not merely “dubious,” or “trivial,” it is non-existent. The Executive Branch violated no valid order through its actions, and the Court has all it needs to evaluate compliance. Accordingly, the Court’s factual inquiry should end,” the DOJ said.

The five Venezuelan opposition members who were living in the Argentine embassy in Caracas after seeking refuge there in March 2024 were safely transferred to the United States on Tuesday.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the “successful rescue of all hostages held by the Maduro regime at the Argentinian Embassy in Caracas.” He added that they are all now “safely on U.S. soil” following a “precise operation.”
“Maduro’s illegitimate regime has undermined Venezuela’s institutions, violated human rights, and endangered our regional security,” Rubio said, describing the opposition members as “heroes.”

Over 800 Special Ballots ‘Mistakenly’ Kept in BC Riding, Elections Canada Says
Over 800 special ballots cast during the recent federal election were mistakenly kept at the office of a returning officer in B.C., Elections Canada says.'
The agency says all registered political parties have been informed that 822 special ballots cast by electors in 74 electoral districts across the country were left with the returning officer in the riding of Coquitlam—Port Coquitlam.
Elections Canada says the ballots should have been returned to its headquarters by April 28 at 6 p.m. to allow them to be counted.

Over 500 of the ballots mistakenly left in Coquitlam—Port Coquitlam were for the electoral district of Port Moody—Coquitlam.
Liberal Zoe Royer was elected in Port Moody—Coquitlam with 27,074 votes. Conservative Paul Lambert came in second place with 25,126 votes.
Other special ballots were for ridings across the country, including Halifax, Nepean and Vancouver Centre.
Elections Canada says an initial analysis shows that the outcomes in those 74 districts were not affected by the mislaid ballots.
The agency says its initial analysis showed that the problem was caused by “human error” and “a failure to comply with the written procedures.”
Chief Electoral Officer Stéphane Perrault has asked for a complete review of the controls in place to ensure that a similar situation does not happen again, Elections Canada says.
“My commitment to candidates, political parties and Canadians is that when issues related to the delivery of an election arise, we take all necessary steps to resolve them,” Perrault said in a news release.
