Controversial Aid Plan For Gaza Revealed In New Document, Includes American CEOs & Banks

The organization set to administer Israel's controversial plan to take control of humanitarian aid distribution in Gaza will use private contractors to secure hubs where Palestinians will receive 1,750 kcal meals that will cost donors a little more than a dollar each.

Details about the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) strategy for Gaza are laid out in a 14-page document circulating amongst aid organizations working on Gaza and seen by Middle East Eye.

The hitherto unknown nonprofit, which was registered in Switzerland in February, has been touted as the umbrella body that will seemingly take over humanitarian operations in Gaza while inviting NGOs to "take advantage" of its "logistics, security and transparency frameworks".

The pitch-like document offers detailed information about how the foundation, largely led by Americans and involving a mix of disaster relief, security and financial experts, will operate and how it is organized, though some details appear yet to be finalized. The document is undated.

The new details have emerged as UN agencies and international aid organizations, which have roundly rejected the plan that GHF would administer, reportedly coming under pressure from the US government to participate. Earlier this week, Amnesty Switzerland raised concerns that, based on the information available, GHF could be risking contributing to international crimes through its services.

The Israeli operation appears to already be underway. Israel security cabinet approved its plan on Sunday with satellite evidence emerging on Wednesday suggesting that work has already begun to build the humanitarian hubs from which aid will be distributed.

'New operating model'

According to the document, the foundation says it is offering "a new operating model", blaming aid diversion, active combat and "restricted access" as reasons why millions of civilians have been left without food, water and other supplies.

It does not specify the blockades on aid that Israel has put in place, including over the past two months, that have led the enclave’s population to the brink of mass starvation. Instead, it says Hamas and criminal organizations have intercepted, taxed and resold aid, and that Israeli "domestic security concerns and political pressure limit Gaza access and drive risk-averse policy toward humanitarian organizations".

The document repeatedly frames one of the main issues the foundation serves as fixing “eroded donor confidence”, saying it was established to “restore that vital lifeline through an independent, rigorously audited model that gets assistance directly – and only – to those in need”.

GHF says it is set to establish four “secure distribution sites” that will each serve 300,000 people “with capacity to expand past 2 million”. Pre-packaged rations, hygiene kits and medical supplies will be delivered to the sites via armored vehicles “through tightly controlled corridors, monitored in real time to prevent diversion”.

“At just US $1.3 per meal… donors can see immediate, measurable impact,” the document says, later indicating that each meal will be 1,750 kcal.

The 3 Pillars Of The American Idea

Unalienable rights and self-evident truths are the two core ideas of the American founding.

You could call them the three pillars of the American Idea.

These three pillars are the direct gifts to America of three great thinkers of the Scottish Enlightenment: Francis Hutcheson, Adam Smith, and Thomas Reid.

Their thinking — known today as “common sense realism” — took America by storm at precisely the right time to shape America fundamentally.

Francis Hutcheson

Francis Hutcheson: “Our rights are either alienable or unalienable …”

A revolution in thinking about our rights preceded the American Revolution. In the words of George Washington, America’s founding took place during a time “when the rights of mankind were better understood and more clearly defined than at any former period.” Hutcheson’s analysis of our rights showed the way.

The meaning of Hutcheson’s distinction was sharp and clear in the founders’ time but to understand it today you and I must first be clear about the meaning of “alienable.” Here is its complete definition in my dictionary: “adj. Law. Capable of being transferred to the ownership of another.” Your right to your car is an alienable right; because your car is your property, you can sell your car or give it away — but our rights to our lives and our liberty are unalienable, that is, not property, not capable of being transferred to the ownership of another.

Hutcheson was challenging John Locke’s account of our rights — and in so doing he helped ignite the American Revolution. Locke, you see, had defined our rights in terms of property. Locke: “Man … hath by nature a power … to preserve his property — that is, his life, liberty and estate.” According to Hutcheson and the founders, our rights to our lives and our liberty are not property; those rights are unalienable, inherent, essential, and not transferrable.

Hutcheson’s distinction provided the intellectual foundation for two of the greatest achievements in world history, Adam Smith’s “The Wealth of Nations” and the Declaration of Independence. Adam Smith’s focus was our alienable rights; the American founders focused on our unalienable rights.

Pakistan announces military operation against India

Islamabad has vowed retaliation after New Delhi struck multiple “terrorist targets” on its territory and Pakistan-controlled part of Kashmir

India has launched “Operation Sindoor,” targeting what it calls “terrorist infrastructure” in Pakistan and the Pakistan-controlled part of Kashmir, in retaliation for a deadly terrorist attack in Baisaran Valley.

New Delhi said the strikes were directed at “terrorist camps” and not the Pakistani armed forces or civilians. “Our actions have been focused, measured, and non-escalatory in nature,” the Indian government said, noting it“has demonstrated considerable restraint in the selection of targets and method of execution.”

Islamabad has condemned the strikes as a “heinous provocation” and vowed retaliation. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that Pakistan “has every right to respond forcefully to this act of war imposed by India.”

Since the Indian strikes, Islamabad has responded with shelling across the Line of Control, the de facto border between the countries in Kashmir. The cross-border fire has resulted in 16 civilian deaths, according to the Indian government.

India and Pakistan also traded accusations of drone attacks, with both sides claiming to have taken down unmanned aerial vehicles.

The ongoing “Operation Sindoor” follows the April 22 attack in Baisaran Valley, which left 26 civilians dead. India has held Pakistan indirectly responsible, alleging cross-border militant involvement. Islamabad has vehemently denied that it had any role in the attack and has called for an impartial probe.

10 May 2025

01:59 GMT

The Pakistani government has said that it “responded befittingly to Indian aggression,” claiming that the country’s armed forces “successfully targeted key Indian military installations” as part of its so-called Operation Bunyan un Marsoos.

“These actions are being taken in response to India’s first attack, which was an attack on our land, people and sovereignty,” it added in a post on X.

01:44 GMT

The Group of Seven (G7) nations has issued a joint statement condemning the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India, and urging both India and Pakistan to exercise maximum restraint and “engage in direct dialogue towards a peaceful outcome.”

“Further military escalation poses a serious threat to regional stability. We are deeply concerned for the safety of civilians on both sides,” the G7 Foreign Ministers said, expressing support “for a swift and lasting diplomatic resolution.”

01:04 GMT

Indian air defenses reportedly engaged a new Pakistani drone attack, with at least 14 explosions heard in the air as an NDTV crew reported live from the ground in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir.

00:54 GMT

The Indian Army briefing, originally expected to take place early in the morning, has been delayed until 10am local time, NDTV reports.

00:26 GMT

Islamabad has announced the launch of a large-scale military operation against India, code-named Bunyan un Marsoos. Pakistani Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said the name of the operation means “a wall fortified with lead.”

“OPERATION BUNYAN UN MARSOOS STARTS,” the Pakistani government declared in a post on X, without providing further details. Pakistani media claimed, citing security sources, that the country’s military has targeted “multiple high-value Indian military assets.”

US Defense System Fails For 2nd Time This Week Amid Houthi Missiles On Israel

In a potential sign of more escalation to come, Yemen's Houthis (Ansarallah) have fired another ballistic missile directly on Israel - and this time it was reportedly intercepted. Last weekend saw a ballistic missile hit Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv, injuring six - and Israel's military then launched massive airstrikes on Yemen's international airport in Sanaa.

The timing of the Friday attack is interesting given just days ago President Trump declared a US-Houthi ceasefire in the Red Sea. This was widely seen as Washington taking a step back from defending Israel, and the question of whether the US military could intervene against attacks on Israel was left open.

Israeli media is currently highlighting the failure of the American THAAD system, which missed the intercept:

The Houthi ballistic missile fired from Yemen at Israel a short while ago was successfully intercepted by Israel’s Arrow long-range air defense system, a security source tells The Times of Israel.

The American THAAD system deployed to Israel also engaged the missile but missed, for the second time this week, the source says. On Sunday, a THAAD interceptor missed a Houthi missile fired at Israel, while an Arrow interceptor malfunctioned, allowing the projectile to strike Ben Gurion Airport.

More of these failures of US-supplied systems could prove highly embarrassing. This is especially as the Houthis alter their attack priorities from US warships in the Red Sea (based on the purported ceasefire) - to more direct attacks on Israel.

Recent weeks saw an uptick in Houthi drone in the Red Sea, including against the USS Truman carrier, which reportedly resulted in a F-18 Hornet fighter jet going overboard. Within the last week, another F-18 Hornet crash landed and went overboard. Three total have been lost throughout the campaign, and many more MQ-9 Reaper drones.

Biden’s Weaponized DOJ Crushed Texas Developer Who Blew Whistle on CCP Land Grab Scheme

In a saga that reads more like a political thriller than a real estate dispute, Texas businessman Timothy Barton is at the center of a high-stakes legal storm that some allege is less about justice and more about silencing dissent.

Timothy Barton—a Christian businessman, proud Trump supporter, and founder of the successful JMJ Development—has, in yet another glaring example of Biden-era political persecution, become the latest target of lawfare by a weaponized federal government more interested in shielding the Chinese Communist Party than protecting American citizens.

Barton’s “crime”? Sounding the alarm on what he believed to be a covert Chinese land acquisition scheme on U.S. soil.

Back in 2019, Barton was approached by a Chinese national named Haoqiang “Michael” Fu and his associate Steven Wall. They pitched him on partnering in high-value real estate developments across Texas. At first glance, it looked like a lucrative venture. But the deeper Barton got involved, the clearer the red flags became. Fu and Wall repeatedly failed to provide promised funding, while Barton was forced to keep the project afloat—personally.

Worse still, Barton discovered what he described as blatant financial fraud, including altered co-lender documents redirecting repayments straight to Fu. Convinced that the deal was a front for something far more dangerous—a CCP-backed scheme to influence and infiltrate American real estate — Barton did what any patriot would do: he reported the activity to Homeland Security.

But in Joe Biden’s America, doing the right thing gets you punished.

When the Trump administration left office and Biden’s handlers seized power, the DOJ and SEC pivoted hard. Instead of investigating Fu’s shady dealings or holding China accountable, the feds turned their full weight against Barton. They slapped him with baseless charges, raided his home at dawn like he was a cartel boss, and seized nearly every asset he owned—all before he ever stepped foot in a courtroom.

There was no trial. No jury. No victims ever identified. Just a man crushed by an out-of-control federal machine determined to make an example out of a Trump donor who dared to expose China’s growing influence inside our borders.

Even Barton’s assistant, a woman with no criminal record, was dragged into this charade — arrested on Christmas Eve in a cold, calculated move that felt more like revenge than justice.

And that was just the beginning.

Under Judge Brantley Starr—a figure now infamous in Texas legal circles—Barton’s fate was handed over to a court-appointed receiver, Cort Thomas. From day one, Thomas acted like a demolition crew with a legal license. He gutted Barton’s decades-old business empire, liquidated assets, froze family bank accounts, and dragged Barton’s children and ex-wife into court.

Thomas’s attorney, Charlene Koonce—whose own writings include “Weapons of a Receivership”—filed a barrage of lawsuits with zero evidence, targeting everyone in Barton’s orbit. Some of those lawsuits have since been quietly withdrawn. But the damage was done.

This isn’t oversight. It’s overreach. It’s lawfare. And it’s political.

Let’s be clear: this never would’ve happened if Barton weren’t a public Trump supporter who blew the whistle on a scheme tied to America’s greatest geopolitical enemy. In today’s twisted justice system, that’s enough to make you a target.

MTG announces she is not running against Ossoff next year: 'The Senate doesn't work'

The Republican firebrand announced the decision in a lengthy post on X, where she did not endorse a potential candidate, but took herself out of the running.

Georgia firebrand Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a staunch ally of President Donald Trump, announced Friday night that she will not run against incumbent Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff next year, claiming the upper chamber "doesn't work."

Greene and Republican Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp had been considered potential contenders to defeat Ossoff next year, though establishment Republicans were not optimistic about Greene, and Kemp announced on Monday that he was not seeking the post. GOP Reps. Mike Collins, Buddy Carter and Rich McCormick are all considering runs, per NBC News.

The Republican firebrand announced the decision in a lengthy post on X, where she did not endorse a potential candidate, but took herself out of the running.

"Someone once said, 'The Senate is where good ideas go to die.' They were right. That’s why I’m not running," Greene said. "I won’t fight for a team that refuses to win, that protects its weakest players, and that undermines the very people it’s supposed to serve … If I’m going to fight for a team, it will only be a team willing to lay it all on the line to save this country."

Greene appeared confident that she could beat Ossoff had she decided to run, but felt there was an underlying problem with the chamber itself, its current leadership, and its rules.

"Here’s the hard truth: the Senate doesn’t work," she wrote. "It’s designed to obstruct the will of the people and protect the Uniparty’s grip on power. Nearly everything requires 60 votes to pass, and even when we have a majority, a pack of Republican Senators always votes 'no' on the bills that matter most.

"You know who they are. You’ve watched them sabotage Trump’s agenda for years," she continued. "They don’t fear you, and they don’t serve you. They’re protected by the same corrupt system of donors and consultants who manipulate you with fear."

The Republican ended the message by stating that she was still a staunch supporter of Trump, but that his support alone does not necessarily equate a victory in her state anymore.

"You can’t dress someone up in cowboy boots and think they’ll fool us. Even Trump’s endorsement and rallies can’t save your approved candidates anymore. Georgians are smarter than that. They’ve been burned too many times," she said. "So when the decision-makers from DC, Virginia, or Florida are met with quiet smiles and polite nods, just know: we get it. You don’t. Bless your hearts."

Former D.C.-Area Attorney Charged with Tax Crimes and Making False Statements to Federal Authorities

Defendant is Charged with Lying to Tax Preparer, Concealing $1M of Income

An indictment was unsealed today charging an attorney with evading taxes on approximately $1 million of income, as well as filing false tax returns and making false statements to federal authorities. Richard Graham Foote O’Donoghue previously lived in Washington, D.C., but currently lives in the United Kingdom. He was arrested on entering the United States on May 9, based on the criminal charges.

The following is according to the indictment: from 2012 through 2015, O’Donoghue made substantial income first as an independent contractor for several non-U.S. businesses, including a defense contractor based out of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and then as CEO of that contractor. While he was CEO, O’Donoghue also allegedly received significant bonuses and benefits including a car and driver and a rented luxury villa for his family.

According to the indictment, O’Donoghue did not timely file tax returns for tax years 2012 through 2014. In 2016, however, O’Donoghue hired a return preparer to prepare tax returns for 2012 through tax year 2015. O’Donoghue allegedly provided false information to his return preparer about his employment and income. For example, O’Donoghue allegedly told the return preparer that he was the general manager of the company, not the CEO, and concealed his bonuses and the expenses the company paid on his behalf. These lies allegedly caused the return preparer to prepare and file false tax returns for those years that underreported his income by approximately $1 million. Because O’Donoghue had previously made estimated payments, his false returns allegedly requested refunds from the IRS of more than $247,000 — much of which the IRS paid out.

The indictment further alleges that in February 2023, O’Donoghue made false statements about his income and other matters to law enforcement agents and Department of Justice prosecutors.

Southern District charges over 300 individuals in border security-related cases this week

HOUSTON – A total of 300 cases have been filed charging 302 people from May 2-8 in continuing efforts to secure the southern border, announced U.S. Attorney Nicholas J. Ganjei.

As part of the cases, 93 face allegations of illegally reentering the country. The majority have prior felony convictions for narcotics, prior immigration crimes and more. A total of 193 people face charges of illegally entering the country, while 11 cases allege various instances of human smuggling with the remainder involving other immigration-related crimes.

Those charged by criminal complaint include two convicted felons authorities had allegedly discovered illegally in the country near Roma. Milton Elias Lara-Lara and Alejandro Tamayo-Velazquez have convictions related to fentanyl and marijuana, respectively, and had previously been removed from the United States, according to their charges.

Two more charged this week for unlawfully returning to the United States are Marco Antonio Rangel-Hernandez and Jose Guadalupe Valero-Lavanzate. The charges against them allege both are Mexican nationals who had previously served sentences for illegal reentry.

As part of the ongoing efforts, others have also admitted they failed to register and be fingerprinted. One of those was Elver Emmanual Ollervidez-Tapia. He admitted he had previously waded across the Rio Grande River and illegally entered the country. Upon arrival, he failed to register and be fingerprinted as required by law. He was charged with that crime and for illegally entering the country and has pleaded guilty.

In addition to the new cases, a five-time DUI illegal alien offender was ordered to federal prison for 70 months. In imposing the term of imprisonment, the court considered the dangerousness of Isidor Lagunas-Estrada’s crimes, his lack of respect for the law and need for deterrence. Lagunas-Estrada was removed from the United States in 2020 following his fourth DUI conviction. The investigation revealed he illegally reentered again and was found in the United States in October 2022 when he was arrested and later convicted for his fifth DUI.

U.S. Attorney’s Office Filed 176 Border-Related Cases This Week

SAN DIEGO – Federal prosecutors in the Southern District of California filed 176 border-related cases this week, including charges of assault on a federal officer, bringing in aliens for financial gain, reentering the U.S. after deportation, and importation of controlled substances.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of California is the fourth-busiest federal district, largely due to a high volume of border-related crimes. This district, encompassing San Diego and Imperial counties, shares a 140-mile border with Mexico. It includes the San Ysidro Port of Entry, the world’s busiest land border crossing, connecting San Diego (America’s eighth largest city) and Tijuana (Mexico’s second largest city).

In addition to reactive border-related crimes, the Southern District of California also prosecutes a significant number of proactive cases related to terrorism, organized crime, drugs, white-collar fraud, violent crime, cybercrime, human trafficking and national security. Recent developments in those and other significant areas of prosecution can be found here.

A sample of border-related arrests this week:

On May 8, Ismael Castro-Gonzalez, a Mexican national, was arrested and charged with Assault on a Federal Officer and Attempted Entry of a Removed Alien. According to a complaint, two Border Patrol agents were attacked by Castro and others when they attempted to rescue Castro, who was hanging from barbed wire on the border wall with a broken ladder nearby. The agents were pelted with rocks by other immigrants, including one who was sitting atop the wall. One agent grabbed Castro’s right hand and forced him to release the wire. Once he broke Castro’s grip, the agent was able to pull Castro from the wire and take him to the ground, where Castro continued to struggle and attempted to tackle the agent. As they fell to the ground, Castro started reaching for the agent’s gun and collapsible steel baton. The two agents were able to subdue Castro and arrest him. Castro was previously deported to Mexico on June 29, 2022, through the San Ysidro Port of Entry.

On May 6, Rosa Cervantez, a U.S. citizen, was arrested and charged with Importation of a Controlled Substance. According to a complaint, Cervantez attempted to cross the border in the SENTRI lane at the Calexico West Port of Entry but a Customs and Border Protection officer discovered 36 plastic-wrapped packages hidden in a spare tire well of her car containing 85 pounds of fentanyl and more than 2 pounds of cocaine.

On May 7, Salvador Hernandez, a U.S. citizen, was arrested and charged with Importation of a Controlled Substance. According to a complaint, Hernandez attempted to smuggle three pounds of methamphetamine through the pedestrian lanes of the Otay Mesa Port of Entry. Customs and Border Protection officers found three packages concealed in Hernandez’s waistline secured with Saran Wrap.

Former Private Equity Executives Sentenced to Priso

David Gentile and Jeffry Schneider Defrauded Thousands of Individual Investors in a $1.6 Billion GPB Capital Funds Scheme

Earlier today, in federal court in Brooklyn, David Gentile, the founder and former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GPB Capital, and Jeffry Schneider, the former CEO of Ascendant Capital, were sentenced by United States District Judge Rachel P. Kovner to seven years in prison and six years in prison, respectively, for their roles in a multi-year scheme to defraud more than 10,000 investors by misrepresenting the performance of three GPB Capital private equity funds and the source of funds used to make monthly distribution payments to investors. Collectively, the GPB funds raised approximately $1.6 billion from investors. Both defendants were convicted by a federal jury in August 2024 following an eight-week trial of securities fraud, securities fraud conspiracy, and wire fraud conspiracy; Gentile was also convicted of wire fraud. Additional penalties of forfeiture and restitution will be imposed at a later date.

Joseph Nocella, Jr., United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, and Christopher G. Raia, Assistant Director in Charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation, New York Field Office (FBI), announced the sentences.

“The defendants built GPB Capital on a foundation of lies,” stated United States Attorney Nocella. “They raised approximately $1.6 billion from individual investors based on false promises of generating investment returns from the profits of portfolio companies, all while using investor capital to pay distributions and create a false appearance of success. The sentences imposed today are well deserved and should serve as a warning to would-be fraudsters that seeking to get rich by taking advantage of investors gets you only a one-way ticket to jail. My Office is committed to protecting the investing public and the integrity of the financial markets.”

Mr. Nocella expressed his appreciation to the Securities and Exchange Commission, the New York City Business Integrity Commission, and the New York City Police Department for their valuable assistance with the case.

"For years, David Gentile and Jeffry Schneider wove a web of lies to steal more than one billion dollars from investors through empty promises of guaranteed profits and unlawfully rerouting funds to provide an illusion of success. The defendants abused their high-ranking positions within their company to exploit the trust of their investors and directly manipulate payments to perpetuate this scheme. May today’s sentencing deter anyone who seeks to greedily profit off their clients through deceitful practices," stated FBI Assistant Director in Charge Raia.

Gloucester Police Officer Charged with Child Pornography Offense

BOSTON – A police officer with the Gloucester Police Department has been charged with receipt of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

Alexander Aiello, 34, of Gloucester, was charged with one count of receipt of child pornography. Aiello will appear in federal court in Boston at a later date.

According to the charging documents, Aiello is a patrol officer employed with the Gloucester Police Department. It is alleged that Aiello was identified as a user with a registered account for a dark website, which provided a platform for users to download, view, advertise and distribute CSAM. Searches of Aiello’s person and residence on April 28, 2025, resulted in the seizure of the defendant’s cell phone and laptop as well as a USB thumb drive, which was found in Aiello’s nightstand in his bedroom.

It is alleged that a preliminary examination of the devices revealed that a TOR Browser – an application that provides anonymous web access and access to dark web hidden services – was installed and actively running on Aiello’s laptop. It is further alleged that the application had evidence of downloaded files consistent with recent use. “As a law enforcement officer, Mr. Aiello was entrusted with safeguarding the community – and that includes protecting children from exploitation and abuse. Instead, he allegedly participated in one of the most reprehensible forms of exploitation,” said United States Attorney Leah B. Foley. “This case underscores our unwavering commitment to combating child exploitation in all its forms. Whether the offender is a private citizen or a public official, our mission remains the same: to protect children and pursue justice for victims.”

“As a police officer, Alexander Aiello was sworn to protect and serve, but today, the FBI charged him for receiving images of children being sexually abused,” said James Crowley, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Boston Division. “Those who seek out this despicable material are perpetuating the victimization of innocent children. That’s why the FBI Boston's Child Exploitation – Human Trafficking Task Force diligently pursues these cases. Protecting kids from this physical and emotional trauma is our priority.”
