ISRAEL'S GLOBAL ALLIANCES
Israeli technology could be key to stronger ties with Muslim world | Analysis: Israeli ambassador to Kazakhstan says high-tech cooperation is ‘number one priority’; ‘Kazakhstan has a rising domestic high-tech scene, there is a growing and friendly cooperation,’ says entrepreneur.
Israel’s relations with Muslim countries spiked in recent weeks with reports of budding ties with Oman, Chad, Sudan, and Bahrain with Israel’s technology and security know-how serving as a major catalyst.
From drones to cyber security software to traditional hi-tech startups, Israel is an attractive and powerful prospective partner in an increasingly unstable region.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman reportedly met recently to encourage Arab states to establish economic relations with Israel.

Mossad Infiltrated French Presidential Computer Systems | What specifically did Unit 8200 want to learn about French policy from such an intrusion? According to my own Israeli source, there was no specific mission. Spying was indiscriminate and opportunistic. He would not speaking directly to this particular incident because he did not want to expose a specific operation if there was one. But he would say this:
“Unit 8200 and Mossad hack everyone they technically can. You can never know what interesting intelligence will come from a phone call/email of any foreign leader or official – so they spy on anyone possible.”
In other words, Israeli intelligence has no restraints, unlike (we hope) spy agencies of other western nations. Where the NSA got into trouble (after Snowden’s revelations were published) was that it was operating as if it were Unit 8200, rather than an American agency restrained by American laws and constitutional practice. At least until recently, the NSA and Israeli cyber-intelligence could’ve been twins.
That is why the recently revealed agreement between the NSA and Unit 8200 to share intelligence (even about U.S. citizens) was no surprise at all. – Richard Silverstein 2013 https://www.richardsilverstein.com/2013/10/26/mossad-infiltrated-french-presidential-computer-systems/

Execs from Facebook, Google, and Microsoft explain why they use Israel for their R&D | Google developer partner advocate Don Dodge said: “My job at Google is to travel all over the world and talk to developers and startups and investors.I’ve been to every corner of the earth. China, Japan, Australia, all of Europe, the Nordics, everywhere. There is no other country on earth that thinks the same way that we [Google] do like Israel does. …
Dodge said cheaper engineers in places like Russia, India, and China were often not as good: “It’s about innovation, creativity, taking tremendous risks, understanding how to get to market. That’s what Israel does. It’s not about the cost.”

Switzerland and Israel Collaborate on Cryptocurrency & Blockchain Regulation | The Swiss Minister for Finance Ueli Maurer recently visited Israel along with State Secretary for International Financial Matters Joerg Gasser, citing their goal as gaining bank access to Israeli markets to allow Swiss banks to trade there.
Reuters reports that the two nations have now agreed to collaborate on financial technology, cryptocurrency, and blockchain regulation following their discussion with the Israeli government.
Gasser also stated that Gasser said he was preparing a report blockchain regulation methods and factors and would be submitting recommendations by the end of the year with the aim that parliament could approve in 2019 and the new regulations could be implemented the following year. …
After the government launched an investigation into the possible use case of an “e-franc” state cryptocurrency, the central bank shot the idea down, stating that crypto technology was not good enough. However, a new Zug-based startup named Alprockz is now working on a stablecoin based on the Swiss franc, highlighting to an extent that crypto-technology is progressing with or without the support of the banks.
While one could be forgiven for assuming that Swiss regulators are bringing more to the table in their information exchange, Israel is also a major tech hub. It’s the source of most Intel processor chips, and Bitcoin mining rig giant Bitmain has announced that it’s tripling its development center in western Israel to increase ASIC manufacturing. Last year the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu even suggested that the era of traditional banks and banking was coming to a close altogether and that cryptocurrency may be the turning point saying:
“Is the fate of banks that they will eventually disappear? Yes. The answer is Yes. Does it need to happen tomorrow? And do we need to do it through Bitcoin? That’s a question mark.”

Israel and the unexpected new world order | Geographically, Israel is just off-center. Why then is it treated with such respect, especially by the likes of Russia and China?
Most importantly, Israel is positioned to guard the world’s Internet. Everything today is traded, controlled and administered online. And Israel is emerging as the world’s number one guardian of the worldwide web. That means, regardless of being a few miles offtrack from China’s Land and Maritime Roads, it is positioned to be the center of both belts.
Economists worry that China’s ambition could trigger a global economic collapse; a currency collapse, specifically. Maybe BRICS and One Belt One Road don’t care. A global currency collapse might be seen as a way to wipe the slate clean of nation-based currencies, especially the US dollar, and establish an international one: like Bitcoin, perhaps.
If Bitcoin is the model for a new Internet-based global currency, Israel is likely to be its guardian too, protecting that currency from hackers around the world.

[T]his policy is based on the Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), an initiative that has not been well received in the US, to the extent that Japan refrained from joining so as not to upset Washington. China to overtake US as biggest investor in Israel | Driving this are Chinese companies eager to invest in high-technology and Internet startups, of which Israel is one of the world centers. Historically, it has been American and European capital that invested in them and took them public. In Europe, 101 Israeli firms have launched IPOs and, in the United States, 272.
Last September, Sisram Medical did an IPO in Hong Kong, becoming the first Israeli hi-tech firm to go public on a Chinese stock exchange. Fosun Pharmaceutical owns a controlling stake in the firm; Fosun is owned by mainland tycoon Guo Guangchang.
More Israeli firms will follow the example of Sisram Medical and list in China. An estimated 120 hi-tech Israeli firms have Chinese investment. …
A milestone in Sino-Israel high-technology cooperation came last December 19, with the official inauguration in Shantou of the Guangdong Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, a joint venture between Shantou University and Technion. Hong Kong billionaire Li Ka-shing attended the event.
Technion Institute of Technology is the MIT of Israel. It is the oldest university in Israel, set up in 1912, 36 years before the Jewish was re-established. The Guangdong site is only its second branch outside Israel.
In 2013, Li donated US$130 million to Technion. A large part of the money came from the profits he made from the IPO of Waze, a GPS-based map software company, in which he held a 11 percent stake. His was the largest donation ever made to Technion and one of the biggest to any Israeli academic institution. It’s A Love Affair For Now Between China And Israeli Venture Deal Makers | Capital is pouring into Israeli venture funds from China while their portfolio companies are raising strategic finance from Chinese multinationals and expanding into the Mainland for accelerated growth. It’s a source of capital and growth that is very hard to turn down. More and more Israelis are making those trips to Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou and elsewhere not to be left behind.
This connection is set to grow as more and more deals are blocked between the U.S. and China — from both sides, said the panelists. This blockage will lead the Chinese to look for other places besides Silicon Valley to park money, and importantly, to gain an edge in technology innovation, which is, of course. one of their main missions. – Forbes 2018 https://www.forbes.com/sites/rebeccafannin/2018/01/31/its-a-love-affair-for-now-between-china-and-israeli-venture-deal-makers/#44ec941d4410

California governor directs local governments to clean out homeless encampments
The order encourages cities to ban frequent camping in one location, placing encampments on sidewalks that would block people from walking, and instructs local officials to "provide notice and make every reasonable effort to identify and offer shelter prior to clearing an encampment."
Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Monday ordered cities across the Golden state to start cleaning up its homeless encampments, stating that the "time for inaction is over" and that the state has a lot of federal funding to help with the efforts.
California has become known for having the highest homeless rate in the country with 187,000 homeless people as of 2024, who largely occupy cities like Los Angeles and San Francisco. Los Angeles has the second highest homeless population in the country, behind New York City.
Newsom laid out a plan to eliminate the homeless population from his state in a news release, instructing cities to adopt policies that help end the encampments and pointed to a Supreme Court ruling last year that allowed the state to resume its efforts.
“There’s nothing compassionate about letting people die on the streets," Newsom said in a statement. "Local leaders asked for resources — we delivered the largest state investment in history. They asked for legal clarity — the courts delivered. Now, we’re giving them a model they can put to work immediately, with urgency and with humanity, to resolve encampments and connect people to shelter, housing, and care. The time for inaction is over. There are no more excuses.”
The model ordinance encourages local governments to use federal funding to help their homeless residents connect with mental healthcare and support.
The order encourages cities to ban persistent camping in one location, placing encampments on sidewalks that would block people from walking, and instructs local officials to "provide notice and make every reasonable effort to identify and offer shelter prior to clearing an encampment."
The announcement comes as the state releases $3.3 billion in voter-approved Proposition 1 funding.

London crippled by massive power outage, subway system grinds to a halt
London has been thrown into chaos after a massive power outage crippled the city’s subway system. Commuters were left stranded as multiple Underground lines shut down, forcing thousands to seek alternative routes. The disruption, attributed to a failure in the National Grid, caused widespread delays and station closures, with Waterloo, Tottenham Court Road, and Holborn among the worst affected.
The outage struck during the afternoon rush hour, bringing the city’s transport network to a standstill. Transport for London confirmed that the Bakerloo and Waterloo & City lines were completely suspended, while the Elizabeth, Jubilee, and Northern lines suffered severe delays. Officials reported that the power failure originated in south London, lasting only minutes, but the impact rippled across the entire system. A few minutes of darkness was all it took to paralyze one of the busiest transit networks in the world.
Passengers described scenes of confusion as stations shut their doors and trains halted mid-journey. Some were evacuated, while others waited for updates that never came. The Transport for London website struggled to keep up, with pages failing to load as commuters searched for information. A city that prides itself on efficiency was suddenly frozen, exposing the fragility of its infrastructure.
Authorities are working to restore full service, but the outage has raised serious concerns about the reliability of London’s power grid. The National Grid has yet to provide a detailed explanation, stating only that a fault in the transmission network caused the failure.
The government has ordered an investigation into the incident, with energy regulators expected to review the stability of the grid. Recent outages in Spain and the Canary Islands have heightened fears that Europe’s power infrastructure is vulnerable to sudden failures. London’s blackout is a warning sign. If the capital’s transport system can be crippled in minutes, what does that say about the country’s ability to withstand larger disruptions?

Diddy trial exposes shocking sex trafficking allegations; Prosecutors say Combs ran decade-long abuse network
The trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs has begun, bringing shocking allegations of sex trafficking, racketeering, and coercion into the spotlight. Prosecutors argue that Combs used his wealth and influence to manipulate women into participating in disturbing acts, while his defense insists that his lifestyle was consensual and legal. The case has drawn intense scrutiny, with details emerging that paint a grim picture of power, control, and exploitation.
Federal prosecutors have charged Combs with multiple felony counts, including sex trafficking and transportation for prostitution. The indictment alleges that for over a decade, he orchestrated a network designed to lure women into his orbit, using threats and financial incentives to ensure their silence. Witnesses are expected to testify about the inner workings of his alleged operation, revealing how his business empire concealed years of abuse. This is not just another celebrity scandal. The accusations suggest a deeply entrenched system of coercion, one that thrived under the protection of wealth and status.
The defense is pushing back, arguing that Combs engaged in consensual relationships and that his accusers are distorting the truth for financial gain. His attorneys claim that the prosecution is misrepresenting his lifestyle, framing private encounters as criminal acts. This argument is familiar. When powerful men face allegations of misconduct, the response is often the same—deny, discredit, and deflect. But the sheer number of accusations makes it difficult to dismiss the case as opportunism.
The trial is expected to last several weeks, with testimony from multiple women who say they were victims of Combs’ alleged crimes. Prosecutors have indicated that they will present video evidence, including footage of violent encounters. If the claims hold up in court, this case could redefine how the justice system handles allegations against high-profile figures. The question is whether influence and money will once again shield the accused from accountability.

Chief Justice John Roberts described the rule of law as “endangered” and warned against “trashing the justices,” but speaking in Washington Monday he didn’t point fingers directly at President Donald Trump or his allies for publicly excoriating judges who’ve ruled against aspects of Trump’s agenda.
“The notion that rule of law governs is the basic proposition,” Roberts said during an appearance at Georgetown Law. “Certainly as a matter of theory, but also as a matter of practice, we need to stop and reflect every now and then how rare that is, certainly rare throughout history, and rare in the world today.”

America provides 74% of the pharmaceutical revenues in the world, yet we only have 4.2% of the world’s population.
The U.S. accounts for 42-45% of global pharmaceutical sales, not 74% - but the core truth remains: Americans pay 3x more for drugs than other nations. While we develop 43.7% of new medicines, Big Pharma's price-gouging turns life-saving treatments into luxury goods.
The real issue? Medicare can't negotiate prices, and patent abuses block generics. HHS burned $1.7 trillion in 2024 while families ration insulin.
Time to break monopolies, slash bureaucratic bloat, and put patients over Pfizer's profits.
