BREAKING NEWS REPORT 🕵🏻♂️ DOGE Police Blotter: Former FBI director James Comey used anonymous Twitter account to attack President Trump during his first term as president. Comey used the account to spread hate and hostility against President Trump. Comey also retweeted a post targeting Tom Holman and the leadership of ICE during Trump's presidency in 2018.
Comey also used the account to smear conservative organizations like Charlie Kirk's Turning Point USA. In a very disturbing post, Comey wrote:
"@charliekirk11's @TPUSA
organization are, in fact, diaper shitting Nazis."
Comey's anonymous Twitter account was first uncovered in 2017. Comey had been tweeting under the name "Reinhold Niebuhr," a theologian the fired FBI director wrote about in his college thesis.
Gizmodo wrote a story asserting that "Reinhold Niebuhr" was "almost certainly" Comey. The allegation was confirmed that Comey was the tweeter, according to Gizmodo, NPR, the New York Times and the Des Moines Register.
Lawfare blogger Benjamin Wittes—a personal friend of Comey's-tweeted that the "Reinhold Niebuhr" account using the handle FormerBu "is in fact, James Comey himself."
According to the Times, "Bu" is FBI lingo for "Bureau."
Wittes tweeted the confirmation after "Reinhold Niebuhr" posted a photo of a person resembling Comey standing on a road wearing sunglasses and with his arms crossed and looking off in the distance.
Before the Gizmodo story, Comey had tweeted under the handle "projectexile7," which was a federal program Comey helped initiate. At the time, the account never tweeted, though it followed others and liked their tweets. Wittes was the only follower of projectexile7 at that time.
Once Comey starting using the name "Troll Security Service" with the user name "projectexile7", he began to tweet in 2018 a relentless public stream of hatefilled comments against President Trump, in addition to his vile tweet against Charlie Kirk and Turning Point USA, among his other extremely disturbing vitrol.
