Spain called out Israel yesterday for Genocide then their telecommunication goes out!

Guess who runs the Telcos?

Spain hit by telecom disruption weeks after major blackout

The problems occurred after Telefonica attempted a network upgrade

The outage, which began early Tuesday, affected regions including Madrid, Catalonia, Valencia, Andalusia, Aragon, and the Basque Country. In several areas, access to the 112 emergency hotline was interrupted, prompting the local authorities to provide alternative contact numbers for emergency services.

Telefonica, Spain’s largest telecom provider, confirmed that it did “some network upgrade work which has affected some companies’ fixed communication services (voice and internet).” The company said the affected systems were isolated and service teams were deployed to restore operations.

According to Telefonica, the origin of these problems stemmed from the network upgrade work, and access to services was “fully restored” by 12:30pm.

The Ministry for Digital Transformation said it was in contact with Telefonica throughout the day and requested a detailed report on the incident.

The disruption comes less than a month after a widespread power outage struck Spain and Portugal on April 28, affecting transport networks, telecommunications, and public infrastructure. The cause of the blackout is still under investigation, though preliminary assessments suggest a voltage anomaly led to automatic safety disconnections.

On Tuesday, Spanish Energy Minister Sara Aagesen said Madrid found no evidence that the blackout was caused by a cyberattack on power generation control centers.

Coinbase Data Leak Could Put Users In Physical Danger; TechCrunch Founder

A recent data breach at crypto exchange Coinbase has raised concerns about user safety after hackers gained access to sensitive information, including home addresses.

Coinbase, the world’s third-largest cryptocurrency exchange, confirmed that less than 1% of its transacting monthly users were affected in an attack that may cost the exchange up to $400 million in reimbursement expenses, Cointelegraph reported on May 15.

However, the “human cost” of this data breach may be much higher for users, according to Michael Arrington, the founder of TechCrunch and Arrington Capital.

“Very disappointed in Coinbase right now. Using the cheapest option for customer service has its price,” Arrington said in a May 20 X post, adding:

“Something that has to be said though - this hack - which includes home addresses and account balances - will lead to people dying. It probably has already.”

While no passwords, private keys or account funds were exposed, cybercriminals reportedly bribed overseas customer service contractors to access internal systems. This allowed them to steal personal data that could be used in social engineering scams or even physical extortion attempts.

trading above $100,000, crypto wealth has become a growing target for criminals. Experts warn that leaked address data could expose high-net-worth individuals to real-world risks.

On May 16, Cointelegraph reported on six violent robberies that targeted cryptocurrency investors, aiming to extort digital assets via kidnapping or torture.

In a ruthless attack on May 4, the father of a French crypto entrepreneur was abducted in Paris, France. The kidnappers cut the victim’s finger and sent a video to his son, demanding 5 million euros in crypto.

The victim was held for two days before French police were able to find and rescue him. According to CNN, five people were arrested in connection with the kidnapping.

Crypto exchanges need “layered” cybersecurity

To prevent similar user data breaches, crypto exchanges need to adopt a “layered defense strategy,” according to Ronghui Gu, the co-founder of CertiK Web3 security firm.

“This can include privileged access management, zero trust architecture, multifactor authentication across internal systems, and continuous monitoring with behavioral analytics,” Gu told Cointelegraph, adding:

“Preventive measures such as regular phishing simulations, tailored security training, and restricting third-party access to sensitive systems may help reduce these risks.”

However, crypto platforms will need to “rethink their security posture” as attackers “increasingly target human vulnerabilities rather than technical ones,” added Gu, warning of the rising threat of social engineering schemes.

Retired Navy Admiral Found Guilty of Bribery – Attempted to Award “Triple Digit Million” Dollar Contract to Company in Exchange For Future Employment

WASHINGTON – Admiral Robert Burke (USN-Ret.), 62, of Coconut Creek, Florida, was found guilty of bribery today in connection with accepting future employment at a government vendor in exchange for awarding that company a government contract.

Following a five-day trial, a federal jury found Burke guilty of conspiracy to commit bribery, bribery, performing acts affecting a personal financial interest, and concealing material facts from the United States. U.S. District Court Judge Trevor N. McFadden scheduled sentencing for August 22, 2025.

The verdict was announced by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro, Matthew R. Galeotti Head of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division, Special Agent in Charge Greg Gross of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) Economic Crimes Field Office, Assistant Director in Charge Steven J. Jensen of the FBI Washington Field Office, and Special Agent in Charge Stanley Newell of the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General’s (DoD OIG) Defense Criminal Investigative Service (DCIS) Transnational Field Office.

“When you abuse your position and betray the public trust to line your own pockets, it undermines the confidence in the government you represent,” said U.S. Attorney Pirro. “Our office, with our law enforcement partners, will root out corruption – be it bribes or illegal contracts – and hold accountable the perpetrators, no matter what title or rank they hold.”

According to court documents and as the evidence proved at trial, from 2020 to 2022, Burke was a four-star Admiral who oversaw U.S. naval operations in Europe, Russia, and most of Africa, and commanded thousands of civilian and military personnel. The two co-defendants Kim and Messenger were the co-CEOs of a company (Company A) and provided a workforce training pilot program to a small component of the Navy from August 2018 through July 2019. The Navy terminated a contract with Company A in late 2019 and directed Company A not to contact Burke.

Despite the Navy’s instructions, the co-defendants met with Burke in Washington, D.C., in July 2021, to reestablish Company A’s business relationship with the Navy. At the meeting, the charged defendants agreed that Burke would use his position as a Navy Admiral to steer a contract to Company A in exchange for future employment at the company. They further agreed that Burke would use his official position to influence other Navy officers to award another contract to Company A to train a large portion of the Navy with a value one of the co-defendants allegedly estimated to be “triple digit millions.”

In December 2021, Burke ordered his staff to award a $355,000 contract to Company A to train personnel under Burke’s command in Italy and Spain. Company A performed the training in January 2022. Thereafter, Burke promoted Company A in a failed effort to convince another senior Navy Admiral to award another contract to Company A. To conceal the scheme, Burke made several false and misleading statements to the Navy, including by falsely implying that Company A’s employment discussions with Burke only began months after the contract was awarded and omitting the truth on his required government ethics disclosure forms.

Renewable Stocks Jump After Trump Allows New York Offshore Project Resumption

Shares of European renewable energy companies surged Tuesday after New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced that, following weeks of negotiations with President Trump and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, the month-long stop-work order on the $5 billion Empire Wind project off the state's coast has been lifted. Reuters reported that the move could pave the way for the Trump administration to revisit plans for expanding natural gas pipelines in New York.

"After countless conversations with Equinor and White House officials, bringing labor and business to the table to emphasize the importance of this project, I'm pleased that President Trump and Secretary Burgum have agreed to lift the stop work order and allow this project to move forward," Democratic Gov. Hochul wrote in a statement.

She continued, "Now, Equinor will resume the construction of this fully permitted project that had already received the necessary federal approvals. I also reaffirmed that New York will work with the Administration and private entities on new energy projects that meet the legal requirements under New York law. To ensure reliability and affordability for consumers, we will be working earnestly to deliver on these objectives."

News of Equinor's Empire Wind project's resumption alleviated uncertainties for investors: Denmark's Orsted AS jumped 16%, the most in three years, and Vestas Wind Systems increased 6.5% in Copenhagen. Equinor rose 1.5%.

Israel Subject To Unprecedented Pressure From Allies Over Gaza Escalation

The United Kingdom on Tuesday suspended its free-trade agreement negotiations with Israel over the growing Gaza crisis, and after British Prime Minister Keir Starmer expressed disgust at newly expanded Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip, also as famine threats at least 500,000 Palestinians.

Starmer described that he and his French and Canadian counterparts are "horrified" by the Netanyahu government's escalation in Gaza. This also comes as international headlines and warnings grow more dire. For example Al Jazeera has the following new headline: "Starving Palestinians resort to eating animal feed, flour mixed with sand".

"We repeat our demand for a ceasefire as the only way to free the hostages, we repeat our opposition to settlements in the West Bank, and we repeat our demand to massively scale up humanitarian assistance into Gaza," Starmer told parliament.

A Monday joint statement by the UK, France and Canada had threatened sanctions on Israel. Britain further did slap targeted sanctions on Israeli settler groups and individuals.

Later on Tuesday, Foreign Secretary David Lammy voiced agreement with Starmer, saying that Israel’s actions are "morally wrong" and "unjustifiable." He also said of the fresh sanctions, "I have seen for myself the consequences of settler violence. The fear of its victims. The impunity of its perpetrators."

In announcing the pause in free-trade agreement negotiations, Lammy further revealed that the Israeli ambassador had been summoned. Britain is reportedly demanding the full resumption of humanitarian aid deliveries to the Gaza Strip.

Responding to shadow foreign secretary Priti Patel, Lammy told parliament:

I think the whole house should be able to utterly condemn the Israeli government’s denial of food to hungry children. It is wrong. It’s appalling.

Opposing the expansion of a war that has killed thousands of children is not rewarding Hamas. Opposing the displacement of 100,000s of civilians is not rewarding Hamas. On this side of the house, we are crystal clear that what is happening is morally wrong, unjustifiable, and it needs to stop.

Starting Friday the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced an expanded mobilization of troops for operation 'Gideon's Chariots'. Some two million Palestinians are expected to be forced into a "humanitarian zone" while most of the enclave is destroyed and flattened.

Independent Media Alliance Launches Decentralized Journalism Portal On Odysee

The IMA, consisting of indie media veterans like The Free Thought Project, Derrick Broze, Whitney Webb, The Last American Vagabond and more journalists sidelined by tech giants carve out a sovereign corner of the internet to publish on their own terms.

A new chapter in digital journalism is taking shape as the Independent Media Alliance (IMA) prepares to unveil its own Portal within Odysee’s Decentralized Media Ecosystem (DME).

The alliance, spearheaded by investigative journalists Whitney Webb, Derrick Broze, and Ryan Cristián, aims to reclaim editorial independence and resist the growing stranglehold of centralized tech platforms on public discourse.

The Portal represents a structural shift away from platforms where algorithms and moderation policies routinely silence dissenting voices. Odysee’s model hands control back to creators, offering a space where journalists can publish, monetize, and manage their communities on their own terms.

The IMA, which includes Webb of Unlimited Hangout, Broze of The Conscious Resistance Network, and Cristián of The Last American Vagabond, has endured repeated clampdowns, from suppressed reach to financial de-platforming for pushing back against establishment narratives. Their decision to anchor their work in a decentralized system is a direct response to the growing marginalization of independent media.

Each Portal functions autonomously. Rather than being buried by algorithmic filters or subjected to arbitrary moderation, creators maintain full sovereignty over how content is shared, discussed, and funded.

“Portal is about returning control to the creators,” said Julian Chandra, Odysee’s founder and CEO. “The Independent Media Alliance shows how groups of journalists can build their own spaces, manage their own communities, and protect the integrity of their work without reliance on centralized platforms.”

For the IMA, joining Portal is a philosophical move. This step affirms that free expression requires infrastructure not beholden to corporate interests. It’s a rejection of the controlled environments that have made it increasingly difficult for journalists to reach audiences without interference.

The IMA’s move reflects a commitment to building an ecosystem where information flows freely and creators are no longer forced to compromise their principles.

By aligning with Odysee, the IMA is laying the groundwork for a resilient model of journalism, one that can’t be throttled by opaque policies or the shifting whims of tech giants.

PM calls back top members of Doha team due to ‘Hamas refusal’ of hostage deal

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announces that after a week of “intensive” hostage talks in Doha — which have not yet shown progress toward a deal — high-level members of the negotiating team will return to Israel, while some representatives stay back.

“After about a week of intensive talks in Doha, the senior negotiation team will return to Israel for consultations, while working-level representatives will remain in Doha for the time being,” writes the Prime Minister’s Office in a statement.

“Israel agrees to the American proposal for the return of the hostages, which is based on the Witkoff framework,” adds the PMO, referring to US Envoy Steve Witkoff’s proposal for a short-term ceasefire in exchange for about half of the living hostages held by Hamas in Gaza.

“This proposal was recently conveyed to Hamas via the mediators, but so far, it continues to cling to its refusal,” says the PMO.

Australian government pushes unrealized gains tax, homeowners fear forced sales

The Australian Labor Government’s proposed unrealized capital gains tax is sparking intense debate, with critics warning that it could have severe financial consequences for homeowners, investors, and retirees. The policy, set to take effect in July 2025, introduces a 30 percent tax on unrealized gains for superannuation balances exceeding $3 million. While the government frames it as a measure targeting the wealthy, opponents argue that it sets a dangerous precedent that could extend beyond retirement accounts and into personal assets, including family homes.

The concept of taxing unrealized gains—profits that exist only on paper and have not been cashed out—is highly controversial. Traditionally, capital gains taxes are levied when an asset is sold, ensuring that taxpayers pay from actual income rather than theoretical wealth. This new approach forces individuals to pay taxes on assets they haven’t sold, potentially leading to forced liquidations just to cover tax bills.

The financial burden could be immense. Farmers, small business owners, and retirees with self-managed super funds are particularly vulnerable. Many of these individuals are asset-rich but cash-poor, meaning they hold valuable properties or investments but lack the liquidity to pay sudden tax obligations. Industry experts warn that this policy could force Australians to sell homes, businesses, or retirement assets simply to meet tax demands.

The policy has already passed the House of Representatives and is expected to be reintroduced in the Senate if Labor wins the upcoming federal election. Opposition parties and independent MPs are pushing back, arguing that the tax will disincentivize investment, shrink the tax base, and destabilize the economy. Some analysts predict that the policy could reduce overall societal wealth by $94.5 billion per year, a staggering figure that highlights the potential economic damage.

UK blood scandal worsens, 400,000 may be infected, victims demand accountability

The UK’s contaminated blood scandal has resurfaced with alarming new revelations. An estimated 400,000 people may have been exposed to hepatitis C, a virus that can cause severe liver damage if left untreated. The crisis stems from blood transfusions administered between the 1970s and 1990s, when thousands of patients unknowingly received infected blood. The scale of the disaster is staggering, and the government’s response has been widely criticized.

The numbers paint a grim picture. More than 30,000 people were infected with HIV and hepatitis C, and over 3,000 have died as a result. Many victims were haemophiliacs, treated with contaminated blood products, while others received transfusions during accidents, surgeries, or childbirth complications. The government’s failure to act swiftly has left countless individuals suffering from long-term health consequences.

The scandal is one of the worst medical disasters in UK history. The Infected Blood Inquiry, which concluded in 2023, found that authorities knowingly exposed patients to contaminated blood, prioritizing cost-cutting measures over patient safety. The government has since established the Infected Blood Compensation Authority, but victims and their families argue that the compensation process is slow and inadequate.

Efforts to identify undiagnosed victims are now underway. GPs across England will ask new patients if they received a blood transfusion before 1996, offering hepatitis C tests to those at risk. The NHS estimates that around 400,000 people born before 1996 will be screened, a move recommended in the final inquiry report. Patients can now order discreet, self-testing kits to check for the virus at home.

The consequences of hepatitis C infection can be devastating. The virus often remains undetected for years, silently damaging the liver. If left untreated, it can lead to cirrhosis, liver failure, and even cancer. While modern antiviral treatments can eliminate the virus, many victims have already suffered irreversible harm.

Israel to use US military contractors in new Gaza aid scheme

As Israel moves to expand military operations in Gaza, even approving plans to capture the entire strip, it also wants to seize control of humanitarian aid distribution there — with the help of private U.S. military contractors.

As reported by the Washington Post, the contractors will be supplied by UG Solutions and Safe Reach Solutions — the same American contractors previously involved in checkpoint and security maintenance in the Gaza Strip during the since-broken ceasefire, as Axios reported back in January.

Israel’s push for control of aid distribution in the Gaza Strip is a condition for lifting its more than two-month blockade, leading Gaza toward famine. According to its proposal, Israeli soldiers would guard the periphery of the aid distribution hub, where about 60 trucks of food would be allowed into the strip per day — a mere tenth of the volume permitted during the ceasefire. Under the plan, the American military contractors would handle the aid distribution from there. All existing soup kitchens and distribution centers would be shuttered.

In general, having outside private military contractors in a war zone comes with a host of legal ambiguities. The rules governing their conduct — and the legal framework protecting them — are often poorly defined. That these American contractors would apparently report to Israel, a foreign government, in a territory it reportedly plans to capture and occupy no less, only further muddies the waters.

“Private military contractors continue to push the legal boundaries of using civilians in combat zones. The ambiguity of which jurisdiction cover these contractors — Israeli, Palestinian, U.S. — is being hidden by who is paying the contract,” former Blackwater contractor Morgan Lerette, the author of Guns, Girls, and Greed: I Was a Blackwater Mercenary in Iraq, told Responsible Statecraft.

“Aside from the danger, putting armed U.S. civilians in an active battlefield to feed locals, is reminiscent of Somalia in 1993. We can only hope it doesn’t end in a similar fashion,” Lerette explained, referencing the infamous “Black Hawk Down” battle where clashes between U.S. and Somali forces in a densely populated Mogadishu neighborhood lead to heavy civilian casualties

Speaking anonymously, a former U.S. official told NPR that Israel attempted to roll-out a similar aid plan in Gaza during the last administration. They alleged that the Biden administration, understanding the Israeli plan as manipulating humanitarian aid for military purposes, rejected it as a breach of international law.

The United Nations and some aid partners involved in Gaza rejected the latest Israeli aid plan in a joint statement yesterday, alleging it “contravenes fundamental humanitarian principles and appears designed to reinforce control over life-sustaining items as a pressure tactic — as part of a military strategy.”

“We will not participate in any scheme that does not adhere to the global humanitarian principles of humanity, impartiality, independence and neutrality,” the statement read.

For its part, Israel is moving full speed ahead toward complete domination of the Gaza Strip, where Israeli officials hope Palestinians will feel compelled to leave. At the time of writing, at least 62,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israel since October 7.

“We are conquering Gaza to stay — no more in-and-out. This is a war for victory, and it’s time to stop being afraid of the word ‘occupation.’ We are defeating Hamas — we will not surrender, they will surrender,” Israel Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said of Israel’s current Gaza operations.

UG Solutions and Safe Reach Solutions did not answer RS’ requests for comment in time for publication.

'Transition' to a New World Order Is Beyond Most in the West

The new era marks the end to ‘old politics’: The Red vs Blue; Right vs Left labels lose relevance.

Even the need for transition – just to be clear – has only just begun to be recognised in the U.S.

For the European leadership however, and for the beneficiaries of financialisation who haughtily lament Trump’s ‘storm’ unwisely unleashed on the world, his base economic theses are ridiculed as bizarre notions completely divorced from economic ‘reality’.

That is completely untrue.

For, as Greek Economist Yanis Varoufakis points out, the reality of the western situation and the need for transition was clearly spelled out by Paul Volcker, former chair of the Federal Reserve, as long ago as 2005.

The harsh ‘fact’ of the liberal globalist economic paradigm was evident even then:

“What holds together the globalist system is a massive and growing flow of capital from abroad, running to more than $2 billion every working day – and growing. There is no sense of strain. As a nation we don’t consciously borrow or beg. We aren’t even offering attractive interest rates, nor do we have to offer our creditors protection against the risk of a declining dollar”.

“It’s all quite comfortable for us. We fill our shops and garages with goods from abroad, and the competition has been a powerful restraint on our internal prices. It’s surely helped keep interest rates exceptionally low despite our vanishing savings and rapid growth”.

“And it’s [been] comfortable for our trading partners too, and for those supplying the capital. Some, such as China [and Europe, particularly Germany], have depended heavily on our expanding domestic markets. And for the most part, the central banks of the emerging world have been willing to hold more and more dollars, which are, after all, the closest thing that world has to a truly international currency”.

“The difficulty is that this seemingly comfortable pattern can’t go on indefinitely”.

Precisely. And Trump is in the process of blowing up the world trading system so as to re-set it. Those western liberals, who today are gnashing teeth and lamenting the advent of ‘Trumpian economics’, are simply in denial that Trump has at least recognised the most important American reality – ie. that the pattern can’t go on indefinitely, and that debt-led consumerism is way past its sell-by date.

Children are being taught historically inaccurate information

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/05/18/schoolchildren-taught-black-people-stonehenge-atinuke/

The idea that Stonehenge was built by black people is not supported by mainstream historical research. The builders were Neolithic farmers who migrated to Britain from Anatolia (modern-day Turkey) through Iberia. Genetic analysis suggests they had pale skin, dark hair, and brown eyes. The claim that Britain was a “black country” for thousands of years before white people arrived is highly contested and falls outside widely accepted historical thinking. If you’re interested, I can dive deeper into the archaeological and genetic evidence. – AI

FACT

The creation of the Federal Reserve in 1913. We gave our national credit cards to a cartel of Cabalist Jews and Freemasons (Satanists) dedicated our destruction.

We allowed a satanic cult, Freemasonry, affiliated with the banking cartel to infiltrate every social institution. "We corrupt in order to control (and destroy)" is their motto.

We allowed this corruption to spread to all the institutions necessary for the preservation and healthy development of society: government, the mass media, education, church, justice system, military, police.

We elected criminals and perverts, handpicked by the bankers because they can be controlled. Clinton. Biden. Obama. Trump. In Canada we elected Fidel Castro's son. In Uk, Bojo. In France, they elected Macron over LePen.

We have had their masterplan, the Protocols of the Elders of Zion for more than 100 years but we believed their excuses.

We allowed our defenders to be vilified or murdered without consequences. JFK. Charles Coughlin. Louis McFadden. We ignored the warnings of truthers.

We let them destroy the twin towers on 9-11 killing over 3000 innocent Americans. Again no consequences.

We let them spread homosexuality and undermine gender, marriage, and family.

We let Communists, who are a branch of Freemasonry disguised as liberals, to operate freely. We turned our foreign policy over to Israel.

We allowed them to addict us to porn, and sex in general, to distract us from defending the institutions and values we hold dear.

Yet you believed Bill Gates, Anthony Fauci, and good cop Donald Trump on the #scamdemic and need for lockdowns, masks, vaccines and coming soon internment camps. A pandemic with a death rate of one-quarter of one percent is a ruse, not a pandemic.

You get the picture.

You cannot expect a snake to take mercy on you just because you were negligent, gullible, craven, and feckless.

They are open about their plans in order to compromise us. They have succeeded.

Satanism has only one goal. To DESTROY. We embraced the snake. We allowed Evil to invade.

Satan destroys his adherents. We are culpable.

Now we must reap the whirlwind.

72 Percent of U.S. Jews Say Trump Is Dangerous. So Why Don't Israelis See It?

For too long, a majority of Israelis and a small but vocal minority of Jewish Americans have supported U.S. President Donald Trump based on the false belief that he was an ally of Israel and a partner of American Jews. Major Aussie bank to cull 1500 jobs after slashing the number of bank branches and ATMs across the country as part of it's 'cashless society' push

Westpac will slash 1500 jobs within the next few months as the banking giant ramps up its push towards digital technology.

It's set to become the bank’s biggest redundancy round in a decade, just months after 900 full-time jobs were axed.

Chief executive Anthony Miller has asked managers to consider how they will slash their teams, sources told the Australian Financial Review.

He reportedly urged managers to plan for a five per cent staff reduction across most teams in the coming months as part of cost-cutting efforts to simplify operations.

The news comes after just a fortnight ago after Mr Miller told investors he wanted to hire 180 more home finance managers and business managers.

Westpac confirmed redundancies are being considered but was tight-lipped on the final figure.

'While we continue to invest in extra bankers and customer-facing roles, other programs and initiatives may need fewer resources, a spokesman told the publication.

'This means, from time to time, we make changes that may impact some roles and responsibilities. As the skills and capabilities required in banking continue to evolve, so will our workforce.'

Labor’s got a new mandate to act. Still condones war crimes. Why?

The Palestine elephant remains in the room. It’s putrid, stinking of death while our government holds its nose and looks away, ignoring the war crimes, writes Michael Pascoe.

Yesterday, The Guardian reported another 140 people killed in Gaza, while Israel continues its blockade of all aid from coming in, now entering its 11th week.

Let’s keep this very simple: Is depriving the civilian population of food, water and medicine a war crime? Yes, it is.

So, what is the penalty for this crime? The Australian Government says there is none. You can blockade a couple of million people, use starvation as a weapon of war, and Australia will look the other way.

The old “the standard you walk past is the standard you accept” line means we effectively condone this crime. That we have willingly imposed sanctions for lesser crimes makes us arch hypocrites by ignoring this crime against humanity.

We are made fools when we have given more than $100 million in humanitarian aid to Gaza, but such aid is now blocked without meaningful protest.

We are made jokes of by having imposed sanctions on seven Israeli individuals over settler violence against Palestinians in the West Bank, but dare not mention

even thinking of action over starving and killing tens of thousands of children.

“We call on Israel to hold perpetrators of settler violence to account and to cease its ongoing settlement activity,” Foreign Minister Wong said last year while announcing sanctions on the token individuals.

All words and no action

“The Albanese Government has been firm and consistent that Israeli settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territories are illegal under international law and a significant obstacle to peace,” Penny Wong said, but the Albanese Government is game to do nothing more than to mouth those words.

Apply financial and travel sanctions against all Israeli West Bank settlers – a reasonable course of action against those breaching international law – and I might begin to believe the government means it.

But the colonisation of the West Bank pales in comparison with the Gaza blockade.

We know exactly who is responsible, who is committing this catastrophic crime: Benjamin Netanyahu and his Cabinet. And we do nothing.

Australia actively maintains sanctions against a long list of individuals and organisations. You can read all their names, date and place of birth and last known address on what DFAT calls the Consolidated List.

They range from targeted financial sanctions and travel bans on members of the Myanmar military and companies and banks that deal with them to the three individuals held directly responsible for shooting down MH17 over Ukraine, but there’s not even a wrist slap for those ordering malnutrition, disease and death for Palestinians in Gaza.

Double standards

In mitigation for the Russian and Ukrainian MH17 killers, it is possible they did not realise they were destroying a civilian aircraft. On the other hand, there is no lack of knowledge about what Israel is doing to Gaza, no doubt about the murder of aid workers, about the hunger and the denial of medical supplies.

The Jewish Council of Australia has called out genocide, has underlined the International Court of Justice orders, and has repeatedly called on our government to impose sanctions. The government has ignored it.

Bankwest, as part of Commonwealth Bank, axes 58 roles as it transitions to becoming ‘digital only’

An Aussie bank has made another step towards becoming “digital only”, abruptly axing dozens of jobs as part of its transition.

Bankwest has announced another 58 job cuts as part of a broader cull by parent company Commonwealth Bank.

The latest round affects 58 roles at Bankwest and 105 across CBA, with the majority based in New South Wales.

The remaining cuts are spread across Victoria, Tasmania, Queensland and Western Australia.

A CBA spokesman described the move as part of a regular review of how the bank delivers “the best experiences and outcomes” for customers.

“Our priority is always to redeploy or re-skill for a new role or opportunity wherever possible,” they said, adding that CBA has brought on nearly 3,000 new hires since January.

It’s the second round of major lay-offs in as many months.

In March, CBA shed 164 jobs from its technology division. For Bankwest, the cuts come as it transitions into a “digital-only” bank.

A Jew protecting the cartels

“It is very relevant, that is why we were communicating with the secretary. We had information, but it has already been confirmed. The head of government, Clara Brugada, just issued an informational card.

The government of Mexico City reports that unfortunately, the personal secretary of the head of government, Jimena Guzmán, and José Muñoz, an advisor to the head of government, lost their lives during a direct attack on Calzada de Tlalpan and Napoleon Street in the Moderna neighborhood of the Benito Juárez borough.

Personnel from the Citizen Security Secretariat and the Attorney General’s Office, both of Mexico City, with the support of the government of Mexico.

From the very beginning, Omar gave instructions to ensure they have all the support from the National Intelligence Center, from the Subsecretariat of Intelligence of the Secretariat, and of course from the Secretariat of Defense and Navy, all the support that the head of government needs for the investigation to get to the bottom of this situation, that there is no impunity.

With the support of the government of Mexico, they are already conducting the corresponding investigations to determine the motive of the aggression. Additionally, they are analyzing the surveillance cameras in the area to identify the probable culprits who are known to have traveled on a motorcycle, the aggressors. There will be no impunity; those responsible will be arrested and will have to face justice. From the government of Mexico City, we send our condolences.”
