Trump accuses Biden’s advisors of treason
The US president has claimed that aides took advantage of his “cognitively impaired” predecessor
US President Donald Trump has accused senior aides to his predecessor ofcommitting “treason at the highest level” by allegedly exploiting Joe Biden’s cognitive decline to implement unauthorized policiesthat he would never have supported himself.
In a Truth Social post on Tuesday, Trump claimed that Biden never advocated for open borders and that the surge in illegal immigration was orchestrated by staffers who effectively “stole” the presidency by taking control of the autopen – a device used to replicate a person’s signature.
“The Joe Biden that everybody knew would never allow drug dealers, gang members, and the mentally insane to come into our Country totally unchecked and unvetted. All anyone has to do is look up his record,” Trump argued, adding that the resulting influx has cost the US “hundreds of billions of dollars.”
“It wasn’t his idea to open the border… It was the people that knew he was cognitively impaired, and that took over the autopen,” he added. “This is TREASON at the highest level!… Something very severe should happen to these treasonous thugs that wanted to destroy our Country, but couldn’t, because I came along.”
Trump’s allegations come amid renewed concerns about Biden’s health, following the recent announcement that he has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 and metastasis to the bone. While Trump publicly extended well wishes to Biden, he also questioned the timing and transparency of the disclosure, suggesting that the public was not informed soon enough.
“I’m surprised that… the public wasn’t notified a long time ago, because to get to stage nine, that’s a long time,” Trump told reporters on Monday, questioning how doctors at the White House and Walter Reed hospital could have missed a condition that takes years to develop.
“And the autopen is becoming a very big deal. You know, the autopen is becoming a big deal because it seems that maybe it was the president – whoever operated the autopen,”Trump added, speculating whether the same doctors had overlooked signs of cognitive decline. “In other words, there are things going on that the public wasn’t informed of. And I think somebody’s gonna have to speak to his doctor.”
The autopen has become a focal point in Trump’s broader criticisms of Biden’s presidency. Earlier this year, Trump declared thatseveral last-minute pardons issued by Biden were “void” because they were allegedly signed without his knowledge.
Legal experts note that the use of the autopen by US presidents has historical precedent and is legally valid when authorized. However, Trump maintains that in Biden’s case, the device may have been misused by aides acting independently. House Oversight Committee ChairJames Comer has since launched an investigation into whether senior Biden aides orchestrated a cover-up of the president’s alleged cognitive decline.

Romanian runner-up wants presidential vote nixed for ‘external interferences’
No one has the right to meddle in another nation’s elections, George Simion stated
Right-wing EU critic George Simion has said he would challenge the result of Romania’s presidential election,claiming it was compromised by “foreign interference,” flagging France and Moldova in particular.
Sunday’s runoff saw pro-EU Bucharest Mayor Nicusor Dan defeat his Euroskeptic rival with 54% of the vote in the second round of Romania’s presidential election.
The rerun was ordered after Romania’s Constitutional Court annulled the results of the November election, in which independent candidate Calin Georgescu, an EU and NATO critic, finished first with 23% of the vote. The authorities claimed that there had been “irregularities” in his campaign, citing intelligence reports alleging Russian interference – allegations which Moscow has denied.
In a Tuesday post on X, Simion – who had been the frontrunner –said he had “officially” asked Romania’s top court to annul Sunday’s election result “for the very reasons the December elections were annulled.”
He claimed that there was evidence of “external interferences by state and non-state actors,”adding that “Neither France nor Moldova nor anyone else has the right to interfere in the elections of another state.”
Simion had previously claimed the electoral rolls contained some 1.7 million fictitious names and accused the government of busing in voters from neighboring Moldova. His Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) had also claimed that Moldova’s pro-EU ruling Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) had directed its million-strong diaspora in Romania to vote for Dan.
Telegram founder Pavel Durov, who has claimed French intelligence tried to pressure him into censoring conservative Romanian channels ahead of Sunday’s vote, reposted Simion’s message, saying he is “ready to come and testify if it helps Romanian democracy.”
Paris has denied Durov’s claim. Romanian officials, in turn, have accused Russia of interfering in the election without providing any proof.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has dismissed the accusations, calling the election “strange” and asserting the most popular candidate had been “forcibly” removed without justification. In response to Durov’s remarks, he also cited what he called the EU’s history of meddling in other countries’ affairs.

Ukraine has ‘one last chance’ – Medvedev
Moscow is prepared for unconditional negotiations with Kiev based on realities on the ground, the former president has said
Authorities in Kiev have one last opportunity to preserve some kind of statehood after the Ukraine conflict inevitably resolves, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has said,urging Kiev to engage in peace talks.
Speaking at an international legal forum in St. Petersburg on Tuesday, Medvedev - who serves as the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council -admitted that Moscow doesn’t like the current political regime in Kiev “at all.”
Nevertheless, he suggested that Ukraine’s leaders have “one last chance to preserve, under certain conditions, after the end of military actions, some kind of statehoodor, if you like, some kind of international legal personality and gain a chance for peaceful development.”
Though the Ukrainian government lacks any sovereignty and is a failed “quasi-state” in its current form, Moscow remains open to holding unconditional direct peace negotiationsthat would take into account the current realities on the ground and address the root causes of the conflict, Medvedev stated.
Moscow is concerned that there are currently no individuals in Ukraine that have the legal authority to sign any sort of a peace deal with Russia, he noted.This concern mainly has to do with the fact that a treaty signed by the current leadership could subsequently be rejected once a new government in Ukraine is elected, he explained.
Zelensky’s presidential term officially expired last year, and he has since repeatedly held off holding new elections, citing the conflict with Russia and martial law.
While Moscow has questioned Zelensky’s legitimacy as Ukraine’s leader, last month, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov signaled that theRussian side may overlook his status in order to resume peace negotiations.
”The interests of entering the peaceful settlement process are above all else,” Peskov said, =stressing that “the primary goal is to begin this negotiation process,” while all other questions are “secondary.”==
Last week, delegations from Russia and Ukraine met in Istanbul, marking their first direct talks since Kiev unilaterally abandoned the peace process in 2022. The head of Russia’s negotiating team in Istanbul, Vladimir Medinsky, later said the two parties had agreed to conduct a prisoner swap involving 1,000 POWs from each side, and to continue contacts once both have prepared detailed ceasefire proposals.
