I would argue this isn't a bad thing. In every non-Western culture the kids live with the parents until they get married. Just kicking your kids out of the house as soon as possible means they get eaten alive and raped by the system.
Yeah I been abroad, if anything everyone seems much happier so I don't see a detriment. Not worry about rent and sharing resources removes a lot of stress. When you're married then you got 2 families behind you and a partner you can fallback on for a few months until you get back up. Much safer.
Well you also have to adjust for how real estate works. You can't expect cities to get any cheaper, so you gotta buy a cheap house in a small town you think has potential to grow like you had to. Can't just show up to a city centuries after it was built expecting a cheap place over people who invested in it and helped build it and left the properties for their kids.
