i always liked the theory that the reason we haven't encountered aliens is that because as technology progresses, the ability to produce 100 percent life-like simulations comes first and that ends up being the avenue pursued instead. i'm not doing it justice but it's a sweet theory
think about it… we aren't even close to interplanetary travel…. but we are very close to producing very realistic fully immersive simulation
