The Megabill Is A Total Bust, According GOP Leading Economic Populist Oren Cass

(Russ Vought said the opposite this a.m. He is the head of OBM. I believe him in some ways, there seems to be a lot of hype about this bill. I think Mike Johnson is a liar, and they stuffed anything and everything into it. Ron Johnson said the Senate will be chopping it up. Maybe the Senate will cut a lot of it, Trump will be working with Thune.)

Leaving millions under rule of Kiev ‘junta’ would be a ‘crime’ – Lavrov

The foreign minister has insisted that Russian speakers in Ukraine must be protected

Leaving millions in Ukraine under the rule of a “junta” which has banned their native language would be “a major crime,” according to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

Speaking at a conference in Moscow on Friday, Russia's top diplomat pointed out that Kiev’s authorities have effectively banned the use of the Russian language despite it being the native tongue of a large proportion of the population.

“We cannot leave people under the rule of the regime that is currently there,”Lavrov emphasized. If Vladimir Zelensky’s “junta” expects that “somehow an agreement will be reached to end the hostilities, and what remains of Ukraine will live according to the laws that they adopted, this is an illusion” the minister said. “This cannot be allowed under any circumstances,” he stressed.

(Lavrov is saying it’s a fact that Zelensky, Nazi’s and the Kiev government hate Russians, almost all the people in the 4 additional provinces under Russia, are all Russians, so Zelensky and Kiev Nazi’s will start killing them off again, like he’s done since 2016 until 2022, when Putin invaded to save their lives.)

The minister also reiterated that while Russia is prepared to negotiate with Zelensky and his administration about the principles of resolving the Ukraine conflict, the issue of his legitimacywill be crucial when it comes to actually signing settlement documents.

Zelensky’s official presidential term expired last year, however, he has refused to step down or hold new elections, citing the ongoing conflict with Russia and martial law, which he has continued to extend since the escalation of hostilities in 2022.

Lavrov suggested thatZelensky’s status could become an obstacleto signing a peace deal, given that his successor could dispute the agreement if it is signed by someone “whose legitimacy, to put it mildly, no longer convinces anyone.”

The minister stated that the best way to resolve this issue would be to hold elections in Ukraine.

At the same time, Lavrov insisted thatthe first priority should be reaching an agreement with Ukraine, suggesting that only after it is finalized should the question of who signs it be brought up and discussed.

(I’m sure that Russia has expressed this problem to Trump; and it’s a real problem because that is what Zelensky wants, “a challenged peace agreement”, he really doesn’t want peace. Because if they get peace, Zelensky is no longer needed, and he may cease to exist if it does. Zelensky is not taking the peace talks seriously, he’s tried to interrupt them many times. The Rogue CIA is still in charge in Kiev, they will never give up trying to destroy Russia. So essentially the talks are important but it remains to be seen if they will be allowed to finalize it. Trump saying that Zelensky was very hard to work with, is not an exaggeration. Unless Tulsi can get a hold of the rogue CIA, and have others to take them out, Ukraine will never have peace. This is much more complex than peace talks.)

US pressured Kiev over minerals deal ‘like in a mafia movie’ – Ukrainian official

Deputy Economy Minister Taras Kachka says Washington exerted intense pressure on Kiev to finalize an agreement

Negotiations over a critical minerals agreement between Ukraine and the United States felt like something out of a “mafia movie,” according to Deputy Economy Minister Taras Kachka.

The deal, signed in late April after months of closed-door talks, establishes a joint investment fund and grants Washington preferential access to Ukraine’s natural resources. However, it does not include any American security guarantees, a point recently underscored by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, despite Kiev’s efforts to link economic cooperation with defense commitments.

In an interview published by The Times on Thursday, Kachka described the tone of the talks as “calm… like in a mafia movie,” where powerful figures in suits decide “matters of life and death” in quiet, tension-filled rooms.

Не acknowledged that the pressure from Washington was intense. “Of course, we saw all the Truth Social posts from President Donald Trump. But if you remove emotions from this, it just indicated a strong interest to have this agreement here and now,” the deputy minister stressed. Tensions escalated in early April when the draft agreement was leaked to the media, leading to mutual accusations between American and Ukrainian officials.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt noted in March, “[Trump] understands that the American people are sick and tired of footing the bill for this war to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars.”

This sentiment was widely interpreted by the Ukrainians as reinforcing the urgency from Washington to secure tangible returns such as access to natural resources in exchange for continued support.

Despite the challenges, Kachka said he was ultimately satisfied with the outcome, noting that the two sides had succeeded in “finding common ground.”(why repeat that story then?)

In Russia, former President Dmitry Medvedev, now deputy chairman of the Security Council, commented on the deal earlier this month, framing it as a coercive move by Washington. “Trump finally forced Kiev to pay for US aid with its natural wealth,” Medvedev claimed. “From now on, they’ll have to trade away the resources of a vanishing country in exchange for military supplies.” (Medvedev would have done the same, he considers Ukraine still belonging to Russia.)
