I noted for a long time how EVERY TOWN in America had signs tellng when the lodge (Free Mason lodge) meeting were, and where (day of month.)

Free Masons used to be open about how they controlled everything until a law suit in the 1910's made the government remove the emblems from public buildings, but they couldn't hide it all.
I studied about Battavia NY, and other locations in the North East where they were big back in the day, and come from a town where they were huge.
