They've been programmed to believe the most ridiculous stuff, and don't even realize the mental gymnastics that they are performing in believing this crap.
All it takes is that one thing to wake them up. I had a friend who was like that, and he bought into the "all conservatives are racists" meme, and then one day I had him Google LBJ's statement about having blacks vote for us for the next 200 years. This was the moment he work up. His beliefs were shattered, and he went on to even volunteer on the Trump campaign in 2016.
Once the pedos are out of the picture (excuse the pun), then that should start happening.
