A Canadian YouTube channel that was dominating the platform during the country's recent election has vanished, after the state-funded Canadian Broadcasting Corporation reached out to the social media giant, and branded it a 'content farm' in a Friday hit-piece.

The channel, "Real Talk Politiks," had over 300,000 subscribers and more than 70 million views in the month of April, according to ViewStats.com - making it the third-most viewed Canadian news and politics channel over the past three months.

In a Sunday thread on X, Real Talk Politiks explained:

CBC, Canada’s state-funded media just got YouTube to terminate my channel — not for breaking rules, but for having the wrong political views.

CBC couldn’t compete with the content… so they tried to erase it. This is censorship in Canada.

I didn’t break any rules. No strikes. No deception. Just political commentary. And yet — YouTube terminated the entire channel shortly after CBC reached out with hit-piece questions.

Here’s what’s wild: I was pulling more views than CBC, which really bothered them. They clearly don’t understand how YouTube works with most of the audience outside Canada. But CBC — desperate for relevance — couldn’t stand that.

So what did they do? They contacted YouTube. And not long after… the channel vanished. No real explanation. No public process. Just gone. Like it never existed.

CBC and YouTube clearly don’t understand how the internet works. They think they can silence people with opposing views. But all they’ve done is expose their own fear — and their willingness to crush speech they don’t like.

Apparently CBC pointed to an AI video of Ronald Reagan that was not properly labeled as such, prompting YouTube to justify the takedown for violations of its policies on "spam, deceptive practices and scams," which - they could have simply issued a warning for and allowed Real Talk Politiks to correct instead of completely disappearing the account.

Trump Media Adopts Crypto Treasury In $2.5 Billion Raise, Calls Bitcoin "Apex Instrument Of Financial Freedom"

Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) announced just moments ago a $2.5 billion private placement offering to fund the creation of one of the largest Bitcoin treasuries by a public company.

The raise includes $1.5 billion in common stock and $1 billion in 0.00% convertible senior secured notes, with commitments from around 50 institutional investors.

The offering is expected to close by Thursday, pending standard closing conditions.

"The Company intends to use the proceeds for the creation of a Bitcoin treasury. One of the largest Bitcoin treasury deals of any public company, the move closes Trump Media's previously announced special acquisition fund, which is one of numerous ways, including through potential mergers and acquisitions, that the Company is aiming to expand its reach throughout the America First economy," Truth Social wrote in a press release.

Trump Media's CEO and Chairman Devin Nunes stated:

"We view Bitcoin as an apex instrument of financial freedom, and now Trump Media will hold cryptocurrency as a crucial part of our assets. Our first acquisition of a crown jewel asset, this investment will help defend our Company against harassment and discrimination by financial institutions, which plague many Americans and U.S. firms, and will create synergies for subscription payments, a utility token, and other planned transactions across Truth Social and Truth+. It's a big step forward in the Company's plans to evolve into a holding company by acquiring additional profit-generating, crown jewel assets consistent with America First principles."

The $2.5 billion Offering, comprising approximately $1.5 billion in Trump Media common stock at the last market price and $1.0 billion in convertible notes at a conversion price equal to a 35 percent premium, will place Bitcoin on Trump Media's balance sheet alongside existing cash, cash equivalents, and short-term investments totaling $759.0 million as of the end of the first quarter of 2025.

Zelensky earlier demanded that the US condemn Russia for its latest attacks after it was silent all week long, which Trump just complied with despite remaining suspiciously silent after Zelensky implicitly threatened Moscow’s Victory Day parade.

Congress And Trump Just Codified New Censorship Powers

With an eager bipartisan majority and presidential approval, the Take It Down Act presents yet another massive expansion to unchecked government power.

According to anti-establishment sensibilities, when there’s bipartisanship in Washington, D.C., one can rest assured “our leaders” are up to no good. The policies they’re implementing are often framed in a way that makes them seem impossible to question.

Case in point: The “Tools to Address Known Exploitation by Immobilizing Technological Deepfakes on Websites and Networks Act” (TAKE IT DOWN Act), which Congress recently passed and Donald Trump signed this week.

On its face, it’s ludicrous to oppose the TAKE IT DOWN Act. The bill aims to provide a swift mechanism for taking down non-consensual intimate sexual content—whether authentic or deepfakes—and empowers the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to enforce it. Who could oppose putting a stop to such vulgar, violative practices (deemed “non-consensual intimate visual depiction” in the bill and also frequently termed “non-consensual intimate imagery, or NCII)?

Hardly anyone, according to Congress. Only two House members voted against the bill, one of them Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky (he’s currently the target of the president’s ire for voting against the massive “Big Beautiful” spending bill). The TAKE IT DOWN Act sailed through the Senate with “unanimous consent.”

Beyond the narrative

While the legislation will almost certainly enable quick recourse for victims of such abusive postings, it is rife with problems. The bill has led some internet privacy and civil liberties advocates to sound the alarm on the potential for sweeping censorship.

According to the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), a nonprofit focused on defending civil liberties online, “The takedown provision in TAKE IT DOWN applies to a much broader category of content—potentially any images involving intimate or sexual content—than the narrower NCII definitions found elsewhere in the bill.” But this is not the only privacy or censorship concern.

Before the bill’s passage in the House, Trump told Congress he intended to use it for himself “because nobody gets treated worse than I do online, nobody.” This sparked further concerns among critics. As EFF said, “He wants to sign the bill into law, then use it to remove content about — him. And he won't be the only powerful person to do so.” Whether or not he or other politicians will do this remains to be seen, but there are still more concerns.

EFF has further noted that the bill likely lead to the use of automated filters to identify violative content. This method is prone to errors and can flag everything from legitimate news reporting to fair use material. Further, websites and apps will have only 48 hours to take down copies of flagged material. This creates even more room for mistakes as websites and apps scramble to remove content, likely without thorough verification that it’s actually NCII. Aside from legal ramifications, TAKE IT DOWN arguably incentivizes such rushed processes by limiting liability for material taken down in error.

Additionally, the legislation fails to provide adequate safeguards for fraudulent takedown requests. This has also been the case with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, which has at times been used in bad faith despite that law’s inclusion of language to protect against such actions. EFF notes that TAKE IT DOWN has no such language.

South African President: Don’t ‘Instruct’ Us To Arrest Those Chanting Death Threats To Whites

Asked why his country would not arrest blacks who chant “Kill the Boer! Kill the farmer!” South African President Cyril Ramaphosa answered that his country did not need to “be instructed by anyone” to take that step, asserting that the country’s constitution protected freedom of expression.

Last week, President Donald Trump confronted Ramaphosa at the White House about the threat to whites in his country. When Ramaphosa claimed blacks in South Africa were also killed by criminals in the country, Trump responded, “The farmers are not black. And the people that are being killed in large numbers, and you saw all those grave sites, and those are people that loved ones are going … on a Sunday morning, they told me to pay their respects to their loved ones that were killed … their heads chopped off. They died violently.”

In late March, Julius Malema, the founder and leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters, a communist political party, led a rally at which the crowd chanted “Kill the Boer! Kill the farmer!” Malema has also led chants to “cut the throat of whiteness.”

“In 2023, a little under 300 white-owned farms were attacked across South Africa, with 49 people killed in those attacks, according to figures from AfriForum,” NBC News noted.

In 2010, a South African court ruled that the song “Kill the Boer, Kill the Farmer,” which Malema was using, did constitute hate speech. But in 2022, Judge Edwin Molahlehi reversed the ruling, saying, “It does not constitute hate speech and deserves to be protected under the rubric of freedom of speech – it articulates the failure of the current government to address issues of economic empowerment and land division.”

On Saturday, Malema defiantly said, “The struggle heroes composed this song. All I am doing is to defend the legacy of our struggle. Therefore I will never stop singing” the song. “That will be a betrayal to the struggle of our people.”

“When it comes to the issues of arresting anyone … it’s a sovereign issue,” Ramaphosa stated. “It’s not a matter where we need to be instructed by anyone that ‘Go and arrest this one.’ We are a very proud, sovereign country that has its own laws, that has its own processes, and we take into account what the constitutional court also decided when it said that that slogan, ‘Kill the Boer. Kill the farmer,’ is a liberation chant and slogan. And it’s not meant to be a message that elicits or calls upon anyone to go and be killed. That is what our court decided. So they will probably want to arrest people willy-nilly, [but] we follow the dictates of our constitution because we are a constitutional state and we are a country where freedom of expression is in the bedrock of our constitutional arrangement.”

Chanting “Death to Arabs” and singing “May your village burn,” groups of young Israeli Jews made their way through Muslim neighborhoods of Jerusalem’s Old City on Monday during an annual march marking Israel’s conquest of the eastern part of the city.

Palestinian shopkeepers closed early and police lined the alleys ahead of the march that often becomes a rowdy and sometimes violent procession of ultranationalist Jews. A police officer raised his arms in celebration at one point, hugging a marcher. It was blazing hot, with temperatures hitting 98 degrees Fahrenheit (37 Celsius) in late afternoon.

Hours earlier, a small group of protesters, including an Israeli member of parliament, stormed a compound in east Jerusalem belonging to the U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees, known as UNRWA.

The march commemorates Jerusalem Day, which marks Israel’s capture of east Jerusalem, including the Old City and its holy sites sacred to Jews, Christians and Muslims, in the 1967 Mideast war. The event threatened to inflame tensions that are rife in the city after nearly 600 days of war in Gaza.

Israel’s Claim That ‘Hamas Is Stealing Aid’ Is Patently a Lie. Here’s Why

How do I know Israel’s claim is utterly worthless? For this simple reason:

Israel has a fleet of surveillance drones constantly hovering over the tiny strip of land that is Gaza, monitoring every inch of the territory. The incessant whine you hear every time you watch someone there being interviewed is from one of those drones. They are Israel’s eyes on the enclave. If you are outside in Gaza, you might as well be living in the Truman Show.

Were Hamas stealing aid in Gaza, Israel would easily be able to document it. It would have the video footage from its drones. The fact that it has not provided any footage showing Hamas’ theft of aid – its ransacking of aid trucks, or its fighters smuggling themselves into aid warehouses – is confirmation enough that Israel has simply invented this claim to rationalise its plans to starve the people of Gaza to death through months of an aid blockade or force them to flee into neighbouring Sinai, whichever comes first.

Without its disinformation campaign about “Hamas stealing aid”, Israel knows popular revulsion at its starvation campaign would grow quickly, and western governments would further struggle to keep opposition in check.

There are lots of others reasons, of course, to reject Israel’s lies about “Hamas stealing aid”. Not least, because every single charity and aid agency dealing with Gaza says that aid is not being stolen by Hamas.

But also because, were Hamas fighters doing so, they would be stealing from their own families: from their children and grandparents, who are much more vulnerable to Israel’s starvation campaign than they are. The idea that Hamas is stealing aid makes sense only to a racist, European colonial mindset in which Hamas fighters are viewed as bogeymen figures indifferent to the deaths of their own children, wives and parents.

What undoubtedly is happening is that Israel is allowing the strongest extended families in Gaza – often crime families with significant private arsenals – to loot the aid. That has become a serious problem since Israel killed off Gaza’s civilian police force (in violation of international law), leaving no one to enforce public order.

When everyone’s starving, the most powerful families mobilise their strength to grab an unfair share of the aid. That was an entirely predictable outcome of Israel’s policy to smash all of Gaza’s institutions, including its hospitals, government offices, and police stations, on the bogus pretext that they were “Hamas”.

Note too that Israel has long cultivated close ties to Palestinian crime families, because they provide a potential alternative, and more co-optable, power base to the Palestinian national movements and are a good source of collaborators.

Instead, immediately after the talks between Russian President Putin with US President Trump, Ukraine launched a massive drone offensive against Russian rear areas, mainly targeting the capital Moscow region, striking civilian infrastructure and settlements.

The timing of these attacks suggests a deliberate strategy: Kyiv, lacking the strength to hold the front, sought to provoke Russian retaliation, thereby justifying further Western military aid and escalation. The gambit worked. Following the massive Russian counterstrikes across Ukraine, Germany announced the lifting of restrictions on long-range weapons for Ukraine, while the UK imposed new sanctions, both moves publicly framed as “responses” to Russian aggression. Yet German Chancellor Olaf Scholz admitted the decision on long-range missiles had been made months earlier, and the British sanctions were approved a week ago, before Russia’s strikes. The narrative of “retaliation” appears to be a premeditated escalation tactic.

Europol has supported a large-scale investigation against a transcontinental criminal network trafficking large amounts of cocaine from South America to Europe. The operation involved authorities from Belgium, Germany, Italy and Switzerland, as well as Eurojust.

The operation took place in April 2025 and led to:

14 arrests (11 in Belgium, 2 in Germany, 1 in Italy)

The seizure of over 780 kg of cocaine

The dismantlement of an underground laboratory

Cocaine paste shipped from Colombia to the EU

In the framework of intelligence activities underway with its operational counterparts in the framework of the SKY ECC investigation, Europol developed reliable intelligence concerning the international drug trafficking activities of this organised crime group operating in several countries in Europe.

The gang was led by an Italian family in contact with suppliers in Colombia and chemists in Belgium. They imported huge amounts of cocaine paste, shipped from Colombia to European ports. Once in the European Union, they stored the product in warehouses in Belgium, which were used as laboratories for the synthesis process. The criminal organisation was also engaged in heroin trafficking and money laundering.

Adding to the wave of data center investment news, Chamath Palihapitiya, CEO of Social Capital, wrote on X in response to CAPITAL.news, "We're going to build a 1 GW AI data center in Arizona," signaling another major deal to expand US AI infrastructure.

Palihapitiya said this is his first real estate deal, noting that he partnered with Anita Verma-Lallian, CEO of Arizona Land Consulting (ALC), and other investors to purchase 2,100 acres of land west of Phoenix, known as Hassayampa Ranch.

Taxpayer-Funded Evergreen Professor Posts "86 47" Threat On Facebook

Just days after former FBI Director James Comey drew criticism and an apparent investigation for a post widely seen as a violent threat against Donald Trump, Evergreen State College professor Zoltán Grossman shared a similar message.

The far-left Geography & Native Studies professor posted "LXXXVI XLVII" — Roman numerals for "86 47" — twice on Facebook: once over a background of red hearts, and again on a red hat, Jason Rantz from 770 KTTH wrote in a new editorial.

Grossman's first post, on May 17, came a day after Comey was criticized for sharing — then deleting — a photo of seashells spelling out “86 47,” a phrase interpreted as a threat against Trump, the 47th president. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem called it a “threat” and promised action, the KTTH piece says.

Comey later claimed he didn’t realize it could be seen as violent, though he admitted it was political. Grossman, by contrast, offered no explanation or apology. Neither he nor Evergreen State College responded to requests for comment.

Rantz wrote: "If you’re wondering, yes, this is the kind of edgy 'resistance' humor you get from a taxpayer-funded professor at Evergreen, a college famous for lowering the bar so much it’s basically a tripping hazard."

Rantz pointed out a clear double standard: “When a Republican so much as tweets a mean meme about Biden, it’s national news,” but when the target is Trump, “suddenly, we’re all supposed to loosen up and laugh along.”

He criticized Evergreen State College for tolerating the behavior, noting, “If a student or staff member… posted a joke like ‘86 63’… the college would freak out.” But because the target is “the ‘wrong’ president,” Rantz said, Grossman faces no consequences and “gets to keep his self-satisfied grin.”

Calling Grossman a “propagandist,” not an educator, Rantz mocked his curriculum and accused the academic left of hypocrisy: “Evergreen and the academic left want you to believe they stand against violence and hate, but the mask slips pretty quickly when it’s their political enemies in the crosshairs.”

US Military seizing massive swaths of public lands at the border

Land transfer has locals, hunters, and land conservationists warning of creeping militarization

The Trump administration has transferred thousands of acres of federal land along the U.S.-Mexico border to be controlled by the Department of Defense (DoD). The transfer is part of an ongoing expansion of the military’s presence along the border which the administration claims is necessary to “control” illegal immigration.

Critics of the land transfer, including some who live near the affected areas, have raised concerns about the environmental impact of military operations on these large swathes of land. Additionally, much of the land now under the jurisdiction of the military encompasses national parks and other federal lands which the public is losing access to.

The land that has been transferred to the DoD, called the Roosevelt Reservation, is a 60-foot-wide strip spanning roughly 170 square miles along the border. Already the Pentagon has used its newly acquired access to this land to establish National Defense Areas (NDAs) in New Mexico and Texas. These NDAs will function as expansions of Fort Huachuca and Fort Bliss, Army installations in Arizona and Texas respectively.

Since taking office, the administration has deployed thousands of forces to the southern border, including an initial wave of 1,600 soldiers and Marines in January, and the deployment of “a Stryker brigade combat team and a general support aviation battalion” in March. More than 2,000 reservists were already deployed at the border prior to President Trump’s return to office. Currently, much of the military activity consists of troops setting up fencing and razor wire, patrolling the border, and conducting surveillance to provide to Customs and Border Protection.

Melissa del Bosque, a co-founder of The Border Chronicle — a media outlet that provides on-the-ground reporting about border issues from communities in the borderlands — described what the military presence looks like on the ground.

“You see soldiers in full gear with rifles, military rifles,” del Bosque told Responsible Statecraft. “If you go to the Mexican side of the wall you’ll see murals and benches and people go running. Then on the U.S. side you see razor wire, military vehicles, soldiers.”

Transferring control of federal lands to the Department of Defense enables the administration to use the military for domestic law enforcement, an activity which would otherwise be unlawful under the Posse Comitatus Act, according to several legal scholars who focus on national security. Servicemembers operating within the NMNDA will have enhanced authorities, including authorization to “temporarily detain trespassers on the NMNDA until an appropriate law enforcement entity can assume custody,” “conduct cursory searches of trespassers on the NMNDA to ensure the safety of U.S. service members and Department of Defense (DoD) property,” and “conduct crowd control measures as necessary to ensure the safety of U.S. service members and DoD property.”

Border communities and conservationists raise concerns

By designating wide stretches of land as National Defense Areas, the administration is avoiding environmental reviews and public comment periods which have stalled or partially blocked other recent attempts by the military to acquire more land.

Southwest Conservation Advocate at the Center for Biological Diversity (CBD), Laiken Jordahl explained the scope of the land in New Mexico that is now within the jurisdiction of the Army.

“This is an area the size of many national parks,” Jordahl told RS. “A lot of this land abuts wilderness study areas and even a national monument. Most of that land is productive desert ecosystem teeming with biodiversity.”

Trustees of Florida’s flagship public university vote today on whether to reverse their institution’s nascent success by selecting an identity-politics booster to replace former University of Florida President Ben Sasse.

Sasse’s UF presidency was key to the Florida legislature and Gov. Ron DeSantis’ efforts at reforming higher education away from leftist indoctrination and towards an academics-focused core curriculum. States including Utah, Texas, and Oklahoma have used Florida’s education reforms as a model for their own.

Yet UF trustees will vote Tuesday on a candidate to replace Sasse likely to undo all he and state lawmakers have accomplished to increase the university’s profile, improve its stewardship of public resources, lead the nation in education reform, and remove identity politics corruption. Although the university search committee promised it would “recommend a small number of highly qualified candidates to the UF Board of Trustees,” it ultimately only recommended one finalist, Santa Ono, whose professional record teems with identity politics activism.
