Trump getting ‘filtered’ information on Ukraine conflict – Moscow

The US president is not being briefed properly about the ongoing situation, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said

US President Donald Trump is being misled about the Ukraine conflict by those pushing Washington toward supporting the Kiev regime and taking a more aggressive stance on Russia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said.

Lavrov’s remark on Wednesday followed in response to Trump’s latest criticism of Moscow. The US president rebuked Russia twice this week over strikes on Ukraine, claiming that President Vladimir Putin had “gone absolutely crazy” and was launching “missiles and drones into cities in Ukraine for no reason whatsoever.” Trump later warned that the Russian leader was “playing with fire.”

Responding to a question from journalist Pavel Zarubin, Lavrov said: “One thing is clear – Donald Trump and those who actually make decisions regarding the Ukraine conflict in particular, are not being told everything.”

“The information he [Trump] is given is filtered through a sieve, which is prepared by those who want to draw America into more aggressive action against Russia, in support of the Kiev regime,” Lavrov added.

According to Russia's top diplomat,Moscow will try “to correct” the problem of information not reaching Trump.

Ukraine has drastically ramped up drone strikes deep into Russia in recent weeks in what Moscow says is an effort to derail the ongoing peace process. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, more than 2,300 Ukrainian drones have been intercepted over the past week, mostly away from the front line. On Wednesday, Ukraine also launched a drone raid on Moscow and its suburbs, with a total of 42 UAVs taken down. The assault resulted in damage to residential buildings but no casualties were reported.

In retaliation, Moscow carried out a series of high-precision strikes across Ukraine, targeting drone production sites, warehouses, airfields, radar stations and ammunition depots. Russian officials have consistently stated that such attacks never target civilians.

In recent days, Trump has increasingly criticized the Kremlin over what he perceives as a lack of progress in peace negotiations between Moscow and Kiev.

Last week, Trump and Putin held a telephone conversation during which they discussed the prospects of a peaceful resolution to the Ukraine conflict. Both leaders characterized the call as productive.

(This is true, so it makes me believe it may be Kellogg, envoy for Kiev, is misinforming Rubio or Hegseth, he is very biased against Russia and besties with Ukrainians, a very poor choice to have an objective Envoy. Kellogg reported an inaccurate situation on Fox the other day. I’ve seen many times by Kellogg including trying to tell others what the border would be, which is not his responsibility! Further, when President Trump is asked by a reporter, “what about such and such” (a major story of the day), he responds by saying “I’ve not heard of that” and has the reporter state the issue. So who in the WH, besides Kellogg in Kiev, is not reporting to him very serious matters? Is this why Tulsi has taken over the PDB, Presidential daily briefing?)

Ukraine Presents Draft Proposal, a “Term Sheet” for Ceasefire Discussions

May 27, 2025 | Sundance |

Eventually both sides have to get past the talking points and start putting demands to paper.

According to President Trump’s envoy to Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, Ukraine has put forth a draft proposal outlining their general terms for a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia. Now the Trump administration is awaiting a similar draft from the Kremlin.

Once both drafts, what they are calling “term sheets”, are received and reviewed it appears that President Trump will reengage the process and seek to bring both parties to the negotiation table. At least that looks like the general outline. (RT reported Russia completed their term sheet week or more before Kiev, and Kiev asked to see it, to complete their own)

Retired Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg, notably an anti-Russia leaning participant in the construct(worked for Mike Pence), appeared on Fox and Friends earlier this morning to discuss the current status of the issues, against the backdrop of President Trump’s frustration. WATCH:

(Via MSM) – […] “We have received everything we need. The facts are sufficient for action. We do not need any more evidence,” Kellogg said he said on Fox News, speaking about recent developments in Russia’s war against Ukraine.

Following the first direct meeting between Ukraine and Russia since the war started in Istanbul on May 16, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the Kremlin would draw up a draft proposal listing its conditions for a lasting peace, which is due to be released this week.

Once the White House has both documents they will coordinate between the two sides. According to the Ukraine envoy, another round of talks will happen afterward.

‘There is going to be another meeting, and we believe it will probably be in Geneva,’ he said. Ukraine’s allies want the meeting before the June meeting of the G7 countries in Canada, the newspaper La Repubblica wrote.

Russia wants to return to Turkey for a second round of talks with Ukraine, Lavrov said during a joint press conference in Moscowwith Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on May 27. Earlier, Lavrov dismissed the idea of holding negotiations at the Vatican as unrealistic.

[…]Kellogg previously served as National Security Adviser to former US Vice President Mike Pence and is currently a prominent voice among Republican foreign policy figures shaping Washington’s stance on Ukraine. Vedomosti reports that his statements reflect a broader shift among US officials towards Ukraine after the White House has been criticized for being too soft on Russia since the ceasefire talks kicked off in Riyadh on February 18. This is from a RT article today, proving that Russia had created their memorandum of understanding or as they call it now Term Sheet, earlier last week:

Earlier this month, Russia and Ukraine held their first direct talks in three years, in Istanbul. The two sides agreed on a large prisoner exchange and committed to submitting detailed proposals for a ceasefire.Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed last week that Moscow is preparing a memorandum outlining its vision for ending the conflict.

President Trump Notes the Biden Autopen Scandal Extends Beyond the Pardon Controversies

May 27, 2025 | Sundance

When you think about the office of the president and all of the functions that are required therein, against the backdrop of Joe Biden being mentally incapable of understanding complex decisions,it does make you wonder what else this “autopen” scandal could encompass.

My biggest question pertains to the Ukraine-Russia conflict that broke out in Biden’s second year, February 24, 2022. There were a lot of presidential powers flexed in the aftermath of Russia entering Ukraineincluding all of the sequential sanctions applied by the U.S. that required Biden’s authorization and signature.

Amid all of those presidential directives,we must also consider the CIA and Pentagon were immediately authorized to stand up operations in support of Ukraine. When the President issues a directive authorizing the Central Intelligence Agency to conduct an operation, the president signs a “finding memo.” Was that finding memo process also one of the uses for the non-Biden-dependent autopen?

I’m not sure how any review of the Biden “autopen” use could be successfullyinvestigated or reviewed other than through the use of a special counsel from outside the DOJ. Certainly, Ed Martin is beginning to look into the issue, and he does have presidential authority within his appointment as lead of the ‘weaponization working group.’However, it would seem that Martin would need specific charging instructions to take the investigation into what would likely be a very complicated dynamic.

https://theconservativetreehouse.com/blog/2025/05/27/president-trump-notes-the-biden-autopen-scandal-extends-beyond-the-pardon-controversies/

Question: Can all those non elected and even the appointed aides of the President be charged with treason for stealing and misusing the power of the President? This is more than a Scandal, its an insurrection against the US of America, and worse?Further since Tapper and Thompson knew what was going on when it was going on, are they subject to the law, on knowing crimes against the nation, and not reporting them? Regarding the Finding Memo, it's been mentioned is that still active, and so the Ukraine war powers are still going on?

President Trump and President Putin Coordinating a 24 Person, Seven Nation, Prisoner Exchange

May 27, 2025 | Sundance |

Following last week’s phone call between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, there is currently a multi-nation prisoner exchange in the works being coordinated with ‘seven’ (looks like six to me) nations.

NBC has some details on the dynamic [SEE HERE] which includes this paragraph: “The massive deal, cut among seven nations, involved 24 people, including five Germans and seven Russian citizens held in Russia, and eight Russians imprisoned in the U.S., Germany, Slovenia, Norway and Poland.”

This comes amid some rather complicated -to untangle- western media gaslighting around the dynamic of U.S-Russia relations. However, if you cut through the chaff and countermeasures assigned within the prose, there are cautious indications to be optimistic.

Remember, President Trump’s emissary Steven Witkoff and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio have spent a great deal of time, literal facetime, with both Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Lavrov seems to have a good take on the Trump dynamic overall within this statement attributed to him by TASS, the Russian news agency.

“He sees some of the Europeans are working to sabotage his efforts [on peace]… of course, he gets emotional, and, of course, as someone who does not like anything to stand in the way of his noble goals, he looks at it a certain way,” Lavrov said, according to Russian news outlet Tass.

Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov is calm and cool overall when considering the European effort to ramp up conflict. Peskov is noting that U.K, French and German missiles would still need to utilize USA micro-chips, and advance satellite tracking, within any deployed missile targeting systems.

“The thing is, any European weapon has US-made spare parts. According to the rules of military-technical cooperation, every country must give permission to use a French projectile with a US microchip inside. This is how this system works,” the Kremlin representative explained.

“Well, in general, yes, certainly,” Peskov replied to a commentthat the Americans cannot be unaware about the deployment of European weapons. (link)

We’ll keep watching…. After all, how did that neocon effort work out for Mike Waltz?

(This is why, I see what I think are some intentional fake news with Trump being upset with Putin, and Trump seeming to take Kiev’s side. The media saw too much positive news coming out from America and Russia relationships, so they colluded with Kiev to bash Trump. I believe Putin explained very much in detail, how Kiev is forcing them to continue the war, by Kiev bombing Russia’s territory and especially Civilian areas to convince that Putin is breaking the ceasefire, that they abide by.There’s no way I think Trump believes that BS. One other thing, Putin and Russia never take an adversarial response to Trump, when he says outrageous things, ask yourself why? But the press is also trying to make it like Trump loves Putin, and it’s Russia, Russia, Russia propaganda again.)

Kremlin accuses Western media of undermining Ukraine peace talks

News outlets are pressuring the White House to impose new sanctions, President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman says (propaganda)

Western media outlets are attempting to obstruct peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday.

Speaking during a daily call with journalists, Peskov referenced unspecified “multiple leaks” in the media.

“Many media outlets are effectively engaged in a campaign aimed at derailing the peace processand provoking the United States into imposing new sanctions. This is becoming increasingly evident,” the Kremlin spokesman stated.

His remarks followedseveral US media reports claiming that President Donald Trump was growing “frustrated” over the lack of substantial progress in his efforts to broker a ceasefire and was considering new sanctions against Russia.

Politico cited anunnamed White House officialon Tuesday who said Russian President VladimirPutin was“getting dangerously close to burning the golden bridge” with Trump. In a post the same day on social media, the US leader claimed that his Russian counterpart was “playing with fire.”

Peskov, however, praised Trump for maintaining “a balanced approach” to the negotiations. He stressed that the talks must address “the root causes of the Ukraine conflict,” which he said would “require some time” to resolve.

In a speech on Monday, Putin reiterated that Russia was “forced” to launch its military operation in response to what he described as the persecution of Russian-speakers in Ukraine following the US-backed Euromaidan coup in Kiev in 2014.

Earlier this month, Russia and Ukraine held their first direct talks in three years, in Istanbul. The two sides agreed on a large prisoner exchange and committed to submitting detailed proposals for a ceasefire. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmedlast week that Moscow is preparing a memorandum outlining its vision for ending the conflict.

Putin previously stated that for a full ceasefire to be achieved, Ukraine must halt its mobilization campaign, stop receiving weapons from abroad, and withdraw its troops from Russian territory. He also demanded that Kiev abandon its plans to join NATO and formally recognize Crimea and four other regions as part of Russia.

Russia proposes date for next talks with Ukraine

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has suggested that talks resume on June 2 in Istanbul, following the first meeting on May 16

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has proposed holding the next round of negotiations with Ukraine next Monday, June 2, in Istanbul. Kiev is reportedly discussing the offer. Representatives of the two sides met in the same city on May 16, for the first time since 2022.

In a statement on Wednesday, Lavrov said that theRussian delegation has since prepared a memorandum outlining its terms for achieving a lasting resolution to the conflict.

“Our delegation headed by [Russia’s top negotiator Vladimir] Medinsky is ready to present this memorandum to the Ukrainian delegation andprovide necessary clarifications during a second roundof resumed direct negotiations in Istanbul next Monday, June 2,” the minister detailed.

Lavrov expressed hope that “all those who are sincerely interested in the success of the peace process, and not merely paying lip service to it, will support the new round of Istanbul direct Russia-Ukraine negotiations.”

The foreign minister thanked Türkiye, the US and Saudi Arabia for facilitating the dialogue between Moscow and Kiev. He added that as a result of the talks earlier this month, the two sides conducted the largest prisoner swap to date, with Russia and Ukraine each releasing 1,000 individuals.

Earlier on Wednesday, Medinsky, who is also a Russian presidential aide, revealed that he had phoned the head of the Ukrainian negotiating team, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, and offered a concrete date for the next meeting, where the two delegations are expected to exchange their respective memorandums.

“The Ukrainians adjourned to discuss [the offer],”the Russian official said, conjecturing that the “discussions are apparently still continuing.”

“We are waiting for their confirmation as soon as possible and are ready to meet them in person and start working on the date specified – in the coming days,” Medinsky added, as quoted by the Russian media.

Medinsky also refuted reportsby multiple Western media outletsthat it was Umerov who had called himregarding the memorandum. The publications in questionssuggested that Moscow was dragging its feetand had not prepared the memorandum yet.

Russia has consistently made it clear that it views the ongoing negotiations as a way to achieve a lasting peace that would address the root causes of the conflict. On Monday, Lavrov stated that Moscow continues to insist on permanent neutrality for Ukraine and non-nuclear status, meaning that it will not be able to join NATO.

Kiev revised its stance following pressure from the US and agreed to direct negotiations with Moscow.

(I’m sure there are a lot of high level people wanting to have these talks, and a lot of EU messing with the media to try to derail them. Zelensky certainly wants to derail them, if it’s over he’s either dead, or immediately gone.)

(Confirmation and proof, it’s Kellogg giving bad information and trying to spark friction to Putin & Trump and teamKellogg is chastising Medvedev for something Trump has said multiple times, this war can lead to WWIII.)

Trump’s Ukraine envoy condemns Medvedev’s ‘reckless’ WW3 comment

It is irresponsible to “stoke fears” of a global conflict, Keith Kellogg has said

The US presidential envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, has accused former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev of warmongering, following Medvedev’s warning that tensions with the US could escalate into World War III. (Are you kidding me, Trump has been warning about WWIII for months, along with Putin and others.)

Medvedev, who now serves as deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, made the remarks in response to comments by US President Donald Trump.

“Stoking fears of WWIII is an unfortunate, reckless comment by [Medvedev] and unfitting of a world power,” Kellogg wrote on X on Wednesday. He added, “President Trump is working to stop this war and end the killing.”

Kellogg said the US is awaiting Russia’s submission of a memorandum outlining its terms for a ceasefire, as agreed during the first direct Russia-Ukraine talks in three years, held in Istanbul earlier this month.

Medvedev was reacting to a social media post in which Trump accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of “playing with fire,” and claimed that, without his own efforts, “lots of really bad things would have already happened to Russia.”

“Regarding Trump’s words about Putin ‘playing with fire’ and ‘really bad things’ happening to Russia.I only know of one REALLY BAD thing – WWIII. I hope Trump understands this!”Medvedev posted on X on Tuesday. (Oh Well, Medvedev had given Trump 3 compliments when he started this work, I was surprised.)

Medvedev, who is known for his hawkish rhetoric, previously warned that Ukraine has “one last chance to preserve… some kind of statehood” by accepting Russia’s terms. He also cautioned that failed negotiations could lead to “a more terrible stage of war.”

Trump has pushed for an immediate ceasefire between Moscow and Kiev and has threatened to impose new sanctions on Russia if progress is not made. He has also criticized Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky, accusing him earlier this year of “gambling with World War III.”

The US president has frequently raised concerns about the potential for a broader global conflict.“There’s no profit for anyone in having World War III, and you’re not so far away from it,” he said during a business summit in Miami in February.

At the Istanbul talks, Russia and Ukraine agreed to a major prisoner exchange and pledged to submit detailed ceasefire proposals. Putin has reiterated that, for a full ceasefire to be achieved, Ukraine must halt its mobilization, stop receiving weapons from abroad, and withdraw its forces from Russian territory. He also insists that Kiev must abandon plans to join NATO and formally recognize Crimea and four other regions as part of Russia.

EU state blasts Germany over Russia threats

Slovakia is not a “schoolchild” to be lectured to, PM Robert Fico has said after Berlin warned of funding cuts

Slovakia will not be bullied into changing its foreign policy, Prime Minister Robert Fico has said, calling German threats to cut EU funding due to its stance on Russia “aggressive and unacceptable.”

Fico’s remarks came in response to German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, who said member states that resist the EU’s policies on Russia could face financial consequences.

“Member states that violate the rule of law can be confronted with infringement proceedings,” Merz warned at the WDR Europaforum in Berlin on Monday. “There is always the option of withdrawing European funds from them.”

Merz mentioned both Slovakia and Hungary in response to a question about countries resisting the EU’s policies on sanctions and military aid for Ukraine.

Fico hit back at Merz. “Slovakia is not a little schoolchild that needs to be lectured,” he said on Tuesday on X. “Slovakia’s sovereign positions do not stem from vanity, but are based on our national interests.” He added that“the politics of a single mandatory opinion is a denial of sovereignty and democracy.”

He went on to describe Merz’s remarks as “aggressive” and an indication that “we are not heading into good times.”

“The words of the German Chancellor are absolutely unacceptable in modern Europe. If we don’t obey, are we to be punished? This is not the path toward cohesion and cooperation,” Fico said.

Since returning to office in 2023, Fico has halted Slovak military assistance to Ukraine and has been critical of Western sanctions on Russia. He has also called for economic ties with Moscow to be rebuilt once the conflict with Kiev is over. Late last year, he became one of the few Western leaders to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss energy supplies to Slovakia, which were jeopardized by Ukraine’s refusal to extend a gas transit agreement.

On Monday, Merz also said Ukraine’s European backers are no longer restricting the country from launching long-range strikes into Russia using Western-made weapons, later adding that the decision was made months ago.Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky, however, said he had not received the go-ahead, while suggesting that it could happen later.

Responding to Merz, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov warned of a “serious escalation,” adding that the potential move “severely undermines attempts for a peaceful settlement”of the conflict.

https://www.rt.com/news/618253-slovakia-blasts-germany-funding-threat/

Merz had many countries in Europe chastising him for saying that Kiev can attack inside of Russia.

Canada Today

May 27, 2025 | Sundance |

I’m sorry, but when I finally got around to review the appearance of King Charles in the Canadian Parliament,I could not get past the optics on display.

My background thoughts are HERE, but boy howdy does this picture encapsulate the dynamic.

And yes, King Charles waxed eloquently in both French and English about the terrible issue that Canadian sovereignty is facing.

The same issue, albeit to a lesser -but increasing- extent, is the core impetus between U.S. President Trump’s manufacturing policies in the USA. President Trump is urgently attempting to rebuild a collapsed industrial manufacturing base. However, from the leftist position of Canada, the easier route that affords them the ability to chase the green energy rainbows is to retain a dependency manufacturing model. These are political decisions.

At the core of this dynamic you will find the reason why President Trump is likely to dissolve the U.S/Mex/Canada (USMCA) trade agreementand instead turn toward two independent bilateral trade agreements between the USA-Mexico and USA-Canada. Extend this reasonably accurate predictive economic reality to its logical conclusion and you see why the U.K wants to help bolster Canada.

In the battle against President Trump’s economic ferocity, Canada is relying on the friendly, duplicitous and influential mask work by Great Britain.

https://theconservativetreehouse.com/blog/2025/05/27/canada-today/

When was the Queen or King of England visit Canada? Must have been years ago. I guess Sundance is saying England wants them to stay on the green scam, and Canada be destroyed. What’s your guess anons?

This is a comment by a reader of Sundance on that article on King Charles:

It’s a ‘throne’ and it belongs to the reigning monarch of Britain AND it sits higher than any of Canada’s ‘elected’ politicians. They bow to monarchy!!The wonderful neighbors of Canada are not sovereign.

Has Canada ever been sovereign?? IMHO they are under the monarchy and will never get out from under them until the get their independence. AND get rid of the ‘throne’…….

Do I want them as the 51st US state?? NO. I want them and all other peoples to get out from under all monarchies around the world. Bowing and serving went out in 1776 by gum; Russia got out from under, were duped by communism, and are now sovereign.

Who makes a better ally; independent, sovereign nations or monarchies??
