Four sources close to President Biden’s family, including people who interacted with Cheatle during the Obama-Biden administration, said she was well liked by the future first lady and her most senior aides, including top adviser Anthony Bernal.
"“Cheatle served on Dr. Biden’s second lady detail and Anthony pushed for her,” a Democratic insider told The Post. “Anthony has no national security or law enforcement experience. He should have no influence over the selection of the USSS director.”
“I heard at the time she was being considered for director that Anthony had pushed her forward as an option,” another well-placed source told
Bernal, 51, is widely regarded as rivaling even White House chief of staff Jeff Zients in terms of influence over administration decisions.
He has faced allegations of bullying and sexual harassment from colleagues who have likened his sway to that of Russian mystic Grigori Rasputin over the Romanov court.
“Anthony is obsessed with being DEI-compliant,” a third source told The Post, using the acronym for diversity, equity and inclusion — the human resources practice of attempting to ensure diversity in the workforce.

Notably, Remus contacted Chung on a personal phone number and private email address, "thus evading potential Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) disclosures," Comer wrote. The day of that communication, May 24, 2022, was also "the exact same day the Department of Justice (DOJ) subpoenaed former President Trump for classified documents," he added.
According to the letter, two days later after Chung packed up Biden's documents, Remus; Anthony bernal, an assistant to the president and senior advisor to the first lady; and a White House employee whose name is unknown went to Penn Biden Center to haul away as many boxes of documents and other materials as would fit in their vehicle.
Several months passed, and on Oct. 12, 2022, Special Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of Oval Office Operations Ashley Williams and Biden's personal attorney Pat Moore went to the center to do "the next wave of assessing of files and looking at boxes." The next day, Williams went back to retrieve "a few" of Biden's boxes, and another of Biden's personal attorneys, Bob Bauer, texted Chung to say Moore had started sifting through the boxes at the Penn Biden Center.

According to a new report, Jill Biden's office is not all that it seems. The First Lady spends a lot of time trying to convince the American people that she is an innocent and lovely lady however a new report says otherwise.
Advisor to Jill Biden, Anthony bernal, is known as the most powerful person in Jill Biden's office according to a recent Vogue puff piece and is also seen as a tyrant.
"[T]he way he has wielded that power has made bernal one of the most polarizing people in the White House, according to interviews with more than two dozen White House staffers, former campaign aides, and people who worked with him during the Obama administration," Politico reported.
bernal is in "pursuit of perfection" for Jill Biden which has led to abuse within the First Lady's office which many compare to the movie "The Devil Wears Prada."
"Many described him as 'berating' and 'toxic' because of his unfiltered criticism of others and tendency to trash talk his colleagues behind their backs," the report alleged. "Some compare him to [Meryl Streep's] character in 'Devil Wears Prada' while another equated him to the ever-conspiring Littlefinger in 'Game of Thrones.'"
