Passenger train derails after bridge collapse in Russia
A bridge overpass collapsed onto railway tracks as a passenger train No. 86 traveling from Klimov to Moscow passed underneath in Russia’s western Bryansk region on Saturday evening. At least seven people were killed and 30 others injured, according to officials.
First responders continue to rescue people from the wreckage. While the cause of the incident remains unclear, the newspaper Izvestia cited regional health officials as saying that the bridge was brought down by an explosion. Multiple Telegram channels have claimed that the bridge was likely targeted by sabotage.
