Antibiotics are about the only classification of med that actually solves the problem, not just treat the symptoms. But even those come with tons of issues like resistance. Just before antibiotics were discovered, scientists were working on a thing called phages. Seems for every bacteria there is a corresponding phage that kills it. Very interesting stuff.
