Ukraine conflict a NATO ‘proxy war’ - Trump envoy

Keith Kellogg has echoed Moscow’s characterization of the hostilities

Russian President Vladimir Putin is right in considering the Ukraine conflict a proxy war against Russia, US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Keith Kellogg told Fox News in an interview on Sunday.

He said that while he believes the peace process will ultimately succeed, “escalatory issues” remain. Kellogg referred to comments by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, who last month indicated that Berlin would be open to supplying Kiev with Taurus cruise missiles.

Kellogg addressed Russian President Vladimir Putin's perspective, saying “he considers this a proxy war by NATO. And frankly… in a way it is.

“The escalatory issues are still there,” Kellogg said.“Chancellor Merz has said: well, I’m going to give the Ukrainians the Taurus missile system.”

The German cruise missiles have a range of roughly 300 miles (482 km), which can allow Ukrainian strikes to reach deep into Russian territory, Kellog said. He added that Putin has made it clear: if such weapons are supplied to Ukraine, Russia will regard the suppliers as a party to the conflict.

“He considers this a proxy war by NATO. And frankly… in a way it is.”

Russia can clearly see the other Western military support Ukraine is receiving, Kellogg added.

“Everybody has got to be willing to step back a bit,” and compromise, to get the peace process “to an end state,” the envoy said.

Last week, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted thatMerz’s “provocative” statements “hinder peaceful efforts.” Moscow has stressed that any Ukrainian use of German Taurus missiles against Russian territorywill be viewed as Berlin’s direct involvement in the Ukraine conflict, as the armaments’ use is impossible without the participation of Bundeswehr service members.

Last year, after Trump’s predecessor Joe Biden allowed the use of US ATACMS ballistic missiles in long-range strikes on Russian territory, Moscow retaliated by revamping its strategic doctrine and lowering the threshold for the use of nuclear weapons. Russia now considers any strike by a non-nuclear state backed up by a nuclear one as a joint attack.

Both Kellogg and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio have previously characterized the conflict as a proxy war.

“Frankly, it’s a proxy war between nuclear powers – the United States, helping Ukraine, and Russia,” Rubio said in March, noting that the current White House administration is eager to see it end.

Moscow has long designated the Ukraine conflict as a Western proxy war against Russia and repeatedly condemned arms supplies to Kiev as counterproductive to the peace process.

(I think Trump is sending Putin a message that statements against Putin he made, should be taken with a grain of salt, and he released it through Kellogg, a long time Russia hater.)

Democrat Rep. Nadler’s Aide Handcuffed When DHS Accuses His Office of ‘Harboring Rioters’

Amy Furr1 Jun 2025

Federal officials handcuffed an aide of Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) in his Manhattan office on Wednesday, and the incensed congressman is pointing his finger at President Donald Trump.

When the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officers entered the office they handcuffed an aide and accused staffers of “harboring rioters,” the Gothamist reported on Friday, noting one staff member asked to see a warrant.

In video footage of the incident, one person is heard saying, “No, she did not. That is not what happened,” while an officer handcuffs the aide who appears to be crying. “She pushed him back,” one of the officers says.

Moments later, an officer is heard saying, “Stop resisting” as the aide continued conversing with him:

The Gothamist article detailed the incident, noting the staff member was not arrested or charged and the case was resolved:

DHS later said in a statement that “one individual” —the woman seen being handcuffed — had blocked police from performing a security check they intended to do based on information there were protesters in the lawmaker’s office. Later that day, protesters gathered outside of the federal building, demonstrating against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Nadler’s office would not comment on what led up to the chaotic incident, but two people who were at the courthouse to monitor ICE activity said the confrontation cameafter ICE officers threatened to arrest them and other advocates, and a Nadler staffer invited the advocates inside.

In comments to the New York Post, DHS said, “Based on earlier incidents in a nearby facility,FPS officers were concerned about the safety of the federal employees in the office and went to the location to ensure the safety and wellbeing of those present.”

Officers arrived at the scene and said the woman who washandcuffed was “verbally confrontational and physically blocked access to the office” once the officers identified themselves and their purpose for being at the site. DHS explained she was detained as they finished their security check of the area.

Following the incident, anNYPD spokesperson said law enforcement arrested several demonstrators who allegedly blocked traffic outside the building.

“In the demonstration, mutual aid volunteers assisting immigrants tried to block ICE vans transporting detained immigrants from leaving the building, according to organizers. Eighteen protesters were issued criminal summons, and five people were arrested and charged, the NYPD spokesperson said,” the Gothamist report read.

In a statement on Saturday, Nadler accused Trump and DHS of “sowing chaos” with “intimidation tactics against both citizens and non-citizens in a reckless and dangerous manner.”

Nadler’s comments come as the Trump administration has been working hard to arrest and deport criminal illegal aliens who, under former President Joe Biden’s (D) open border policies, have brought violence and crime to communities across the nation.

In August 2022, Nadler said “Good!” when he learned about the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home, per Breitbart News.

“Many others responded to the raid, angered at the ‘abuse of power’ from the FBI and the Democrats,” the outlet said.

Bill Clinton Balks at Biden Decline — ‘He Was in Good Shape’

Pam Key1 Jun 2025

On this week’s broadcast of “CBS Sunday Morning,” former President Bill Clinton rejected claims of President Joe Biden’s cognitive decline.

Reporter Tracy Smith asked, “Speaking of aging there is there is this book that came out talking about Joe Biden and the people around him seeing that he had cognitive and physical decline. Did you ever have a moment with him where you thought maybe he was unfit to run for president?”

Clinton said, “No.”

Smith repeated, “No.”

Clinton continued, “I thought he was a good president. The only concern I thought he had to deal with was, could anybody do that job until they were 86? We’d had several long talks. I never have seen him and walked away thinking, he can’t do this anymore. He was always on top of his briefs.”

Smith asked again, “You never saw any cognitive decline?”

Clinton said, “No. I didn’t know anything about any of this. I haven’t read the book. I saw President Biden not very long ago, and I thought he was in good shape.”

Smith asked, “Why didn’t you read the book?”

Clinton said, “I didn’t want to because he’s not president anymore, and I think he did a good job. And I think we are facing challenges today with our president in our history. Some people are trying to use this as a way to blame him for the fact that Trump was reelected.”

Report: Palestinians Shocked U.S. Aid Is Free, After Being Charged by Hamas for U.N. Aid

Joel B. Pollak30 May 2025

Palestinians picking up food packages from the Trump administration-backed American alternative to the United Nations (UN) in Gaza were reportedly shocked the aid was free, having become used to being charged for it.

As Breitbart News reported, the new Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF)was launched to provide an alternative to the UN, which either fails to deliver trucks of aid or allegedly lets Hamas steal the supplies.

Hamas then keeps the aid (especially fuel) for itself, sells the aid on the black market, or makes Palestinians pay inflated prices for it.

The Free Press reportedthat receiving free aid was in fact a new phenomenon: “According to the source, one man who picked up a food boxasked four or five times if the food was really free. “It illuminated their perspective on aid and the aid distribution he had experienced in the past.” Videos of Gazans waiting in line to receive food boxes show people waving and cheering.”

Critics of Israel, including the UN, condemned the American operation, which is designed to enable Israel to undermine Hamas’s authority in Gaza while the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) continues clearing out the terrorist group.

The Free Press noted: “None of the foundation’s success in providing over 840,000 meals so far seemed to translate on social media, where images of the aid handout were rapidly turned into memes comparing Gazans waiting for food to Jewish prisoners waiting at Auschwitz.”
