We see things that others do not.
Other know better, so they are blind to what is staring them straight in the face. Their mind says, "Don't be silly" and forces them to ignore the evidence of their senses.
We autists tend to see patterns where you do not. We take little details seriously where you treat them as being OF NO CONSEQUENCE. Lieutenant Colombo is our hero, because there was just one little thing that was nagging at him, and it was clear, that from the moment he pulled up in that ridiculous car, dressed in that raincoat that looked like he slept in it, from that very first moment, he was in complete control. He has only playing a game, to get the guilty parties to reveal themselves. Because that is a lot easier and a lot more fun, than figuring out whodunnit.
