The protein (and other code segments) are programs.
The operating system between the protein building segments, decides which segment (program) gets played next, often depending on the environment.
The protein and other molecular structural builds coded in smaller segments get flipped on and off, carefully timed by the operating system set between them. The operating system is also in code.
It's like flipping a bunch of different floppy disk programs in and out of a computer, based on what the operating system tells you to insert into the computer next.
A baby is literally folded by operational design, protein by protein, as the operating program is coded to call for each segment at a certain time at a certain location.

We are the most incredible nanotech bodies, that have ever graced the planet. We are created by self replicating error correcting high tech computer code, spliced, and re-assembled, by timed folding and nano-electro-magnetic fusing, using the elements that make up the dust of the earth, and the negative and positive charges located on the atoms themselves.
Our bodies are total biological nanotech of the highest order.
God said we were made from the dust of the earth, back when he had to explain things in the simplest of terms, but he certainly did not lie to us.
