Moscow has accused Karol Nawrocki of playing a role in destroying Soviet war memorials
Polish president-elect Karol Nawrocki is listed as wanted by Russia on criminal charges related to his role in the destruction of Soviet-era monuments in the country, according to the Russian Interior Ministry’s public database.
Nawrocki, a conservative candidate who narrowly clinched a victory in the run-off vote on Sunday, is being sought by Russia “under a criminal article,” the database says, without providing more details.
The Polish president-elect has been in the sights of the Russian authorities since at least February 2024, according to TASS. The agency reported at the time that Russian law enforcement officials had initiated criminal proceedings against several senior Polish officials, including Nawrocki, then serving as director of Poland’s Institute of National Remembrance. The charges were related to the removal and destruction of Soviet war memorials.
The Soviet Union lost over 600,000 soldiers during its campaign to liberate Poland from Nazi Germany between 1944 and 1945. After the war, hundreds of monuments were erected across Poland commemorating their role. Since the collapse of the Warsaw bloc and the end of the Cold War, Poland has accused the Soviet Union of “occupying” the country and has made efforts to eliminate communist-era symbols.
By late 2023, the Polish authorities had removed 468 of the 561 Soviet memorials in the country, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. Moscow has accused Warsaw of trampling on the historical truth and paving the way for justifying Nazi collaborators.
Nawrocki, who ran as an independent backed by the opposition Law and Justice (PiS) party, defeated liberal Warsaw Mayor Rafal Trzaskowski with 50.89% of the vote in the presidential vote. He is scheduled to be sworn in on August 6.
The president-elect, who also served as the director of the Museum of the Second World War in Gdansk between 2017 and 2021, has generally supported continued aid to Ukraine in its conflict with Russia, but has spoken out against Kiev joining NATO, or sending Polish troops to the country. He has also opposed closer EU-Ukraine trade ties, arguing that they would encourage unfair competition and undermine Polish agricultural and transport enterprises.

She did this by corresponding with Secret Service agents and government officials.

Ukraine said it attacked the Crimean Bridge with explosives as Russia closed traffic on the route linking the annexed Black Sea peninsula with the Russian mainland.
Agents planted mines on underwater supports and detonated them on Tuesday, the Ukrainian Security Service, known as the SBU, said in a statement on Telegram. The SBU said the operation took place over several months and left the bridge in an emergency condition, which couldn’t be independently verified.
Ukrainian intelligence over the weekend was busy blowing up other civilian bridges inside Russia as well, resulting in the deaths of seven people, and scores more casualties, as we detailed.
"The bridge was originally shut for more than three hours starting in the morning local time, and then again for almost two-and-a-half hours, the news agency said," according to Bloomberg. Boston Consulting Group’s termination of contract with Gaza Humanitarian Foundation will make agency’s job harder, sources say; GHF names interfaith leader Johnnie Moore as new CEO
The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), a US management consulting firm that helped establish the new American- and Israeli-backed aid distribution mechanism in Gaza, has abandoned the project, a spokesperson for the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) said Monday.
Confirming a report by The Washington Post, the spokesperson said BCG had called back its team from Tel Aviv on Friday.
The report came as GHF announced it would appoint US evangelical interfaith leader Rev. Johnnie Moore as its new executive chairman, following the departure of CEO Jack Wood last month.
According to the report, BCG had been responsible for setting the payment and procurement rates for a network of contractors tasked with constructing four GHF aid centers in southern Gaza, one of which is not yet active. GHF began handing out food boxes in Gaza last week in a scheme supported by Washington and Jerusalem to circumvent Hamas in the distribution of aid.
A BCG spokesperson cited by the Post said the consultancy had ended its contract with GHF and placed a senior partner overseeing the project on leave pending an internal review.
BCG had offered its services to the humanitarian effort on a pro bono basis and did not receive any compensation for its work, said the BCG spokesperson. However, another person familiar with the project disputed the spokesperson’s account and said BCG had submitted invoices for more than $1 million each month, according to the Post.
The newspaper cited “three people closely connected” to both BCG and GHF as saying the consultancy’s withdrawal would make it more difficult for the new aid distribution to continue operating.
The BCG withdrawal adds to the challenges faced by the GHF since it began operations, including the rejection of the new distribution scheme by the United Nations and other humanitarian groups; the departure of Wood, who left before any of the distribution sites opened, citing concern that the agency could not adhere to humanitarian principles; and reports, denied by GHF, that Israeli troops have killed dozens of Palestinian aid seekers.
After nearly three months in which it had halted aid to Gaza, Israel announced last week the start of the new distribution system, meant to keep supplies from reaching Hamas members.
Israel has accused the terror group of hoarding humanitarian supplies that the country began letting into the Strip. The ongoing war was sparked by Hamas’s terror onslaught of October 7, 2023.
The new system has come under harsh condemnation from the United Nations, rights groups and foreign countries that say it does not sufficiently address the Strip’s humanitarian needs.

Health infrastructure increasingly under attack as Israel expands military operations
The Israeli military has destroyed north Gaza's only kidney dialysis centre, posing grave risks to patients suffering from kidney-related ailments.
The Palestinian health ministry on Sunday released a statement reporting on the bombing of the Noura al-Kaabi Kidney Dialysis Centre, located in the north of the besieged enclave.
The health facility was the lone provider of dialysis services to kidney patients in the north.
In footage posted online, military excavators could be seen further demolishing the northern Gaza health centre.
"The destruction of the centre poses a catastrophic threat to the health of kidney patients, the consequences of which are unpredictable," the ministry noted, adding that 41 percent of patients suffering from kidney issues in the blockaded Strip died during Israel's war on Gaza due to the targeting and restrictions on such centres.

Tucker Carlson says Kash Patel and Dan Bongino are overpromising and under-delivering
Tucker Carlson was among the many Americans who cheered President Trump nominating Kash Patel to serve as Director of the FBI.
As an aide to Congressman Devin Nunes, Patel helped debunk the Russia collusion hoax by authoring the memo that exposed the FBI’s lies and abuses of power in trying to frame Trump and his aides for conspiring with Russian intelligence to steal the 2016 election from Hillary Clinton.

Patel’s nomination seemed like the best chance ever to break the deep state stranglehold on the FBI and bring much needed reform to the bureau.
But there have been missteps along the way.
President Trump ordered the release of the Epstein files in his first days in office.
The FBI and the Justice Department have yet to follow through despite promised disclosure.
Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino also kicked up a storm when they said they saw conclusive video evidence that Jeffrey Epstein killed himself despite the fact that for six years, Americans were told there were no working security cameras on Epstein’s cell block.
Carlson said on his podcast that he knows Bongino and trusts him, so he accepts Bongino saying the evidence showed Epstein killed himself.
“I know Bongino well. I think of him as a friend. I think he is a man of integrity. And I think his integrity remains pure because of his rage. Like, Dan’s mad at lying. And to be clear, he said, “I know that Epstein killed himself, because I’ve seen the evidence.” So I’m pretty confident in the case of Dan Bongino,” Carlson stated.
However, Carlson cautioned that Bongino and Patel invited a backlash by overpromising on matters like the Epstein files and under-delivering.
“But I think, big picture, DOJ is making a huge mistake—a huge mistake—in promising to reveal things and then not revealing them. And that gives the whole country a kind of moral blue balls at that point. And it’s bad. It’s really bad. That’s going to cause a lot of hate,” Carlson warned.
Epstein was arrested on sex trafficking charges.
A jury convicted his madam, Ghislaine Maxwell, on sex trafficking charges.
But to date, no one has been named or arrested.

Haredi minister pushing for bill to disperse Knesset, take Israel to elections
According to Israeli law, if a bill to disperse the Knesset passes, an election is automatically called and must occur within 90 days.
United Torah Judaism chairman Yitzhak Goldknopf is urging his haredi colleagues to introduce a bill to disperse the Knesset, his spokesperson said Tuesday. He hopes the move will cause the government to advance a bill to regulate haredi service in the IDF, the spokesperson added.
UTJ convened Tuesday in the Knesset to discuss its next steps. The rabbinical leaders of UTJ’s Degel Hatorah faction are expected to convene on Wednesday to decide whether to fall in line with the more hawkish stance of Goldknopf’s Agudat Yisrael faction.
According to law, if a bill to disperse the Knesset passes, an election is automatically called and must occur within 90 days.
The Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee’s legal team has been working on formulating the text of a draft bill, which is expected to be ready within weeks.
This may not leave enough time for the bill to pass into law by the end of the Knesset summer session in late July. That means the current law, which requires that all eligible haredi men serve in the IDF, will be in effect at least until October.

Over 2 000 links were referred during the action day
On 27 May, Europol coordinated a Referral Action Day (RAD) on minors’ exploitation and radicalisation online. More than 2 000 links pointing to jihadist and right-wing violent extremist and terrorist propaganda targeting minors were referred during the action day.
The referral day took place only a few weeks after Europol launched a new Operational Taskforce to tackle the rising trend of recruiting young perpetrators into serious and organised crime. Recent data provided to Europol reveals that minors are now involved in over 70% of criminal markets. Protecting children from being recruited and exploited by criminal networks is one of Europol’s key priorities.

Terrorist groups are increasingly targeting young people, exploiting their vulnerabilities but also their abilities to manage online capabilities to advance violent and extremist agendas. Strong collaboration between public authorities and private sector partners is essential to prevent the radicalisation of minors into harming themselves and our society.
New wave of propaganda using broader manipulation tactics
Terrorist organisations and their online supporters have developed new tactics to recruit and gain followers, tailoring their message and investing in new technologies and platforms to manipulate and reach out to minors. The propaganda identified during the operational action included content combining images and videos of children with extremist messaging, as well as materials offering guidance to radicalised parents on raising future jihadists.
One of the key observations that led to this coordinated action is the use of AI, particularly in the creation of images, text and videos designed to resonate with younger audiences. Propagandists invest in content, short videos, memes, and other visual formats, carefully stylised to appeal to minors and families that may be susceptible to extremist manipulation, as well as content incorporating gaming elements with terrorist audio and visual material.
Another type of targeted content is the glorification of minors involved in terrorist attacks. In this regard, terrorist propaganda predominantly targets male minors, manipulating them into joining extremist groups by promoting heroic narratives that portray them as “warriors” and the “hope” of society. Female minors are referenced less frequently, with their roles largely confined to raising and indoctrinating future “fighters” for the cause.
Another manipulation technique that has been worrying for the past years is the increased use of victimhood narratives, particularly imagery of wounded or killed children in conflict zones. This manipulation serves a dual purpose: it fosters emotional identification with the victims while simultaneously inciting a desire for retaliation and further violence.
In 2024, EU Member States law enforcement authorities contributed to a large number of terrorism related cases involving minors. Europol’s European Counter Terrorism Centre keeps on supporting Member States in preventing and investigating dissemination of terrorist content online to ensure a safer cyberspace for European citizens.

FBI Director Kash Patel promised that he wouldn’t touch any work related to the country of Qatar — until very recently, a lucrative client of his. Now, only a few months into the job, he’s had a change of heart and is already handling official FBI business related to the Gulf country.
After his confirmation hearing, Patel revealed that he worked as a consultant for the Embassy of Qatar until November. Dylan Hedtler-Gaudette, Acting Vice President of Policy & Government Affairs at Project on Government Oversight, explained to RS that federal regulations stipulate that executive branch employees should recuse themselves on issues related to their former employers for a period of one year.
However, employees can avoid this requirement by simply obtaining a waiver — or, as Hedtler-Gaudette put it, “activating the escape hatch.”
According to the new disclosure filing, Patel received this waiver from his agency’s ethics officer for a particular matter related to Qatar on March 4. The new disclosure does not specify what work or case Patel’s waiver is for — but if official FBI business involving Qatar is landing on the Director’s desk and it’s worth asking for a waiver over, it’s a good sign the work carries some weight.
In his ethics disclosure from before his confirmation hearing, Patel pledged to avoid actual and apparent conflicts of interests; “I will not participate personally and substantially in any particular matter involving specific parties in which I know a former client of mine is a party or represents a party for a period of one year after I last provided service to that client or until the client satisfies any outstanding bill, whichever is later, unless I am first authorized to participate.”
It turns out those last seven words did most of the heavylifting.
“This waiver should never have been granted,” Craig Holman, Government Affairs Lobbyist for Public Citizen, told RS. “There is no reason why Patel has to address whatever specific issue this is relating to Qatar when he can just delegate it to someone else in the FBI.”
Patel’s consulting business, Trishul LLC, earned a neat $2.1 million according to his financial disclosure. The Embassy of Qatar is listed as one of nine clients, though it does not provide a breakdown as to how much Patel received from each client. Other clients include a Kremlin-connected Russian filmmaker and the Chinese e-commerce platform Shein.

The bombshell from Trump’s right-hand-man in immigration, Tom Homan, came during Fox News host Sean Hannity’s most recent segment after Hannity openly pondered, “What did we learn from 9/11?” and expressed concern about the possibility of a major terror attack.
Hannity cited this week’s antisemitic terror attack in Boulder, Colorado, where a man who was in the country illegally allegedly injured 12 people by using a makeshift flamethrower and molotov cocktails.
The suspected firebomber, Mohamed Sabry Soliman, is a 45-year-old Egyptian national who entered the country on a tourist visa in 2022, sought asylum and later obtained a work permit from the Biden administration, according to the Trump administration.
But the accused’s work visa expired this past March, meaning he was no longer in the US legally.
Hannity eventually asked, “if we don’t find these people soon, we’re at risk of a 9/11 or worse?” referencing an opaque amount of undocumented migrants in the US.
“It’s coming,” Homan said before pausing briefly.
During the previous administration, around 2 million so-called “gotaways” were not apprehended by border patrol agents, Homan argued.
“These 2 million known gotaways scares the hell out of me,” he said, claiming some of that disputed figure could be terrorists.
“I’m convinced something’s coming unless we can find them.”
Homan, who President Trump has assigned to oversee the implementation of his controversial mass deportation plan, theorised that millions of migrants were going to great lengths to avoid detection.
“Why did 2 million illegal aliens pay more to get away?” Homan told Hannity.
“They could have paid half of what they paid to cross the border, turn themselves into border patrol agents, get released that same day, get a free airline ticket to the city of their choice, get a free hotel room, get three meals a day, plus free medical care and work authorisation.”
“Two million people paid more to get away,” he argued.

Ukrainian intelligence services described the attacks as the culmination of an 18-month preparation, deploying drones from disguised civilian trucks to strike five strategic airbases in Olenya, Dyagilevo, Severny, Belaya, and Ukrainka. Initial reports from Kyiv boasted of destroying or damaging over 40 aircraft, including Tu-95 and Tu-22M3 strategic bombers—a claim that, if true, would have represented a significant degradation of Russia’s long-range strike capacity.
Satellite Imagery Tells a Different Story
Recent high-resolution satellite images of the targeted bases, however, paint a far less dramatic picture. At Dyagilevo airbase in Ryazan region, where Ukrainian sources claimed successful strikes, no damage to aircraft or infrastructure is visible. The only notable marks are minor scorch patterns on the ground, likely from intercepted drones. Similarly, imagery from the Ivanovo airbase shows no significant impact, despite Ukrainian assertions of heavy losses. Russian aircraft are seen covered with tyres undamaged.
Western propaganda also shared the low-quality imagery of the Ukrainka airfield in the Amursk region, claiming damage to at least one more Tu-95MS, but this claims are not reliable, since the quality does not confirm them, and the trucks with FPR drones reportedly burnt down before reaching this airbase.
Ukrainian Propaganda and Fabricated Evidence
Kyiv’s narrative has been further undermined by blatant disinformation. Social media channels circulated AI-generated footage purportedly showing destroyed MiG-29 and MiG-31 fighters—a crude fabrication easily debunked by experts but widely shared to create the illusion of Russian vulnerability. Such tactics, increasingly reliant on AI, aim not to convince the experts and military reporters but to manipulate public perception through rapid, emotionally charged dissemination.
