My dad died when I was 5 and so my mom had to be both mom and dad and I grew up in a time and place where I had to fight at school from first grade on.
My mom figured everything out for us.
She finally made a rule so we could protect ourselves.
She strictly made it a mandate that we should never, EVER instigate or start a fight, not by word and not by fists.
Or that would be our arse.
But, she allowed by telling us that if any kid were to touch us in an aggressive way, push, shove, hitting…we had to "issue" them a warning.
We were to tell them if they touched us again, we could "get them."
As a kid, we were given the green light to defend and protect ourselves only after we gave a warning, and then it was game on.
Most 99% of the time they never saw it coming, even after the warning.
There is no such thing as a fair fight.
God rest her soul, but I think my mom would be OK and approve for you guys to fight back now, and knock a few of them completely out.
There's only so much we can take, right?
