In the Lord of the Rings, what is the Palantir?
The gems that were the remote eyes of the evil Sauron.
What was Sauron's mission?
To gain control over all of Middle Earth.
Nowhere did I suggest that Sauron made the Palantir, just that he employed them for his evil ends. Sauron was evil and thus lacked the talent for creation, only theft and destruction.
