Trump does not like to loose. He could have walked away in the first month, now he has skin in the game. I hope he can be a big enough person to walk away, but seems more likely he is caught in the trap of his ego needing to win and Zelensky with the backing of RINOs will drag him into WWIII. There are no political scandals any more. The entire Federal and most State and local governments are one massive scandal at this point. It is almost impossible to differentiate one scandal from the rest of the shitshow. Trump comes from the time when Watergate captured the public mind, now the public mind is so fractured and full of injustices that the idea of the political class doing highly illegal and treasonous thing is not shocking, it is a given.
