Former CIA Chief Mike Pompeo Speaks at Odessa Conference – ONE DAY Before Ukrainian Surprise Attack on Russian Bombers – Demands Crimea Be Designated Ukrainian Territory – Calls for Complete Victory Over Russia – Includes Eerie Prediction of Upcoming Events
by Jim Hoft Jun. 3, 2025
Former CIA Director and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was the keynote speaker on Saturday at the Black Sea Security Forum in Odessa, Ukraine.
As President Trump continues to push for peace negotiations in the Ukraine-Russian War, former CIA Director Mike Pompeo flew to Ukraine to push “complete victory” over the Russian people in his talk this weekend at the Black Sea Security Forum.
The former CIA Director delivered a ten-minute speech before he sat and answered questions with Oleksii Goncharenko MP, Chairman of the Black Sea Security Forum, Ukraine, for another 19 minutes.
The Kyiv Post reported on the conference which is in its second year.
The Black Sea Security Forum in Odesa, initiated by a group of Ukrainian parliamentarians in 2024 under the leadership of Oleksii Goncharenko, has become the first and largest geopolitical event in southern Ukraine since the start of the Russian invasion in 2022. It brings together key figures from national governments, international institutions and the expert community. This year’s event, whose main sponsor was Lord Ashcroft, took place from 30 May 30 to June 1. Kyiv Post was a media partner.
Mike Pompeo’s speech is also published on YouTube.
Pompeo’s speech was actually quite terrifying. The timing of the speech is also suspect since Ukraine unleashed a historic drone attack deep inside Russia the following day. Ukraine and its Western allies used drones to blow apart Russian bombers on a runway, bombers that are capable of carrying nuclear loads.
The former CIA Director told the crowd “there is only one outcome that is remotely tolerable for the world, and that is victory. It’s winning.”
Mike Pompeo:
“There is only one outcome that is remotely tolerable for the world, and that is victory. It’s winning. There can be variations. Sometimes you can win by the other player storming out of the room. Sometimes you can win by total defeat and taking that player’s king. But always victory is measured in the minds of the two participants and those who were observing the game itself. And I would suggest to you today that if the conclusion of this conflict isn’t that those who are observing this game don’t understand that this was a win for the good guys and defeat for the bad guys, and it is very clear that the bad guys sit in Moscow, not in Kyiv, then the world will be a very different place.”
Pompeo goes on…
If you ask me, Mike, tell me, what is it that you see as victory? It is the world’s perception that we are prepared to take the risks necessary in order not that we win combat, not that we win victories by crushing armies in the field, but that we preserve peace in the world and are modeled and are perceived in the world as strong enough and determined enough and prepared to fight collectively such that these wars never begin.
Pompeo insists a peace agreement with Putin is unrealistic.
Last thought, and then I’ll take questions. That deterrence, that model that would have and could have prevented what happened, doesn’t end with a ceasefire. It doesn’t end the day that Vladimir Putin says, At least for the moment, I’m going to stop. This is a man who has no intention of changing. He has been pursuing the vision of restoring what he once knew as the greater Russian Empire, the Soviet Union. His vision has not changed and is not going to change. That means our resolve must be forever. It’s not the case that we can sign an agreement, make a deal, bring NATO closer together. This model of deterrence must remain.
