BREAKING NEWSElon Musk drops Epstein 'bomb' in worst slur yet against Trump as their public break-up turns ugly

UPDATED: 16:00 EDT, 5 June 20251/3

Elon Musk claimed Thursday afternoon that President Donald Trump is 'in the Epstein files' - a dramatic escalation amid their spectacular falling out.

Moments before, Trump had taken to Truth Social and said he had asked Musk to leave his administration and said the billionaire went 'CRAZY!'

With that, Musk announced that it was 'time to drop a really big bomb.' '@RealDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public,' Musk wrote. 'Have a nice day, DJT!'

Jeffrey Epstein is a serial child sex offender who died in prison in 2019. Trump pledged to release the files related to Epstein, with Attorney General Pam Bondi releasing some pages in February, but most of that information was already in the public domain.

The White House did not immediately respond to the Daily Mail's request for comment.

In the past few days, Musk has grown increasingly critical of the 'big, beautiful bill' Republicans are trying to pass through Congress - arguing it reversed his work with DOGE - but on Thursday, he took aim at Trump himself.

Trump took to Truth Social Thursday afternoon after first criticizing Musk in the Oval Office.

'Elon was "wearing thin," I asked him to leave, I took away his EV Mandate that forced everyone to buy Electric Cars that nobody else wanted (that he knew for months I was going to do!), and he just went CRAZY!' Trump wrote.

The president then threatened to pull SpaceX and Tesla's government contracts. 'The easiest way to save money in our Budget, Billions and Billions of Dollars, is to terminate Elon’s Governmental Subsidies and Contracts. I was always surprised that Biden didn't do it!' Trump wrote.

• Musk then taunted Trump to act.

• 'This just gets better and better,' he wrote. 'Go ahead, make my day …'

• As the fight continued, Tesla shares plummeted by 17.6 percent.

• After the Epstein charge, anti-Semitic rapper Kanye West entered the chat.

• 'Broooos please noooooo. We love you both so much,' West wrote.

Trump's swipes came after Musk said the Republican would have lost the 2024 election had it not been for the world's richest man's help.

'Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate,' Musk claimed. 'Such ingratitude,' the billionaire added on X.

Musk had publicly endorsed Trump on the heels of the July 13th assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania and poured $290 million of his fortune on the Republican's campaign.

The billionaire also joined Trump on the campaign trail when he returned to the site of the Butler shooting in early October, a month before Election Day.

Trump said he likely still would have won the key state of Pennsylvania without Musk's assistance, partly because Kamala Harris didn't choose the state's governor, Josh Shapiro, to be her running mate.

Even with Shapiro on the Democratic ticket, Trump claimed, 'I would have won Pennsylvania, I would have won by a lot.'

Musk said that was laughable.

• During the transition, Trump announced that Musk would run the newly created Department of Government Efficiency or 'DOGE,' allowing the businessman to take a chainsaw to alleged waste, fraud and abuse.

• Those efforts didn't play well with the American public, with Musk formally out last week.

• Now the 53-year-old South African-born billionaire is asserting that he has more staying power in U.S. politics than the 78-year-old president.

• 'Oh and some food for thought as they ponder this question: Trump has 3.5 years left as President, but I will be around for 40+ years,' Musk said Thursday afternoon, responding to a post from MAGA agitator Laura Loomer.

• Loomer said she was reporting from Capitol Hill and that Republican lawmakers were trying to determine if it was better to side with Trump or Musk.

Musk's latest online assault of Trump came moments after the president went on a tirade about the billionaire while hosting German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in the Oval Office.

'Elon and I had a great relationship. I don't know if we will any more, I was surprised,'Trump said.

The president suggested that Musk was angry - not over the bill ballooning the deficit - but because the Trump administration has pulled back on electric vehicle mandates, which negatively impacted Tesla.

He also indicated that there was a problem when he rejected Musk's preferred nominee to lead NASA because his choice was a Democrat. 'And you know, Elon's upset because we took the EV mandate, which was a lot of money for electric vehicles, and they're having a hard time the electric vehicles and they want us to pay billions of dollars in subsidy,' Trump said. 'I know that disturbed him.'

Shares of Tesla dipped 8 percent amid the spat.

Over the weekend, Trump pulled the nomination of Jared Isaacman to lead NASA. Isaacman had worked alongside Musk at SpaceX.

'He recommended somebody that I guess he knew very well, I'm sure he respected him, to run NASA and I didn't think it was appropriate and he happened to be a Democrat, like totally Democrat,' Trump continued. 'We won, we get certain privileges and one of the privileges is we don't have to appoint a Democrat.'

Musk posted to X repeatedly as Trump's press conference was going on.'Whatever,' the billionaire wrote, as he continued to criticize what Trump has called his 'big, beautiful' spending bill.

'Keep the EV/solar incentive cuts in the bill, even though no oil & gas subsidies are touched (very unfair!!), but ditch the MOUNTAIN of DISGUSTING PORK in the bill,' he advised.

'In the entire history of civilization, there has never been legislation that [is] both big and beautiful. Everyone knows this!' Musk continued. 'Either you get a big and ugly bill or a slim and beautiful bill. Slim and beautiful is the way.'

In the Oval Office, Trump insisted that Musk knew the contents of the bill before the House passed it. Trump is now pushing Republican senators to back it so he can sign it before the July 4 holiday. 'He became a little bit different. I can understand that. But he knew every aspect of this bill. He knew it better than almost anybody, and he never had a problem until right after he left,' Trump protested.

Musk immediately pushed back on X - sharing the clip of Trump's comments.

'False, this bill was never shown to me even once and was passed in the dead of night so fast that almost no one in Congress could even read it!' Musk said.

At the top of Musk's X profile on Thursday, the billionaire had pinned a tweet that said 'Wise words,' highlighting a Trump tweet from 2013 that said, 'I cannot believe the Republicans are extending the debt ceiling—I am a Republican & I am embarrassed!'

• Trump noted that until recently Musk had 'said the most beautiful things about me.'

• In the Oval Ofice, Trump pointed out that the battle with Musk had yet to turn personal.

• 'And he hasn't said bad about me personally, but I'm sure that will be next,' Trump said.

• He went on: 'I'm very disappointed in Elon. I've helped Elon a lot.'

• Trump suggested Musk was disappointed by life outside the White House.

• 'I think he got out there and all of the sudden he wasn't in this beautiful office,' Trump said.

• Trump said Musk's about-face represented a greater trend.

• 'People leave my administration and they love us and then, at some point, they miss it so badly. And some of them embrace it and some of them actually become hostile. I don't know what it is, it's sort of Trump Derangement Syndrome, I guess they call it,' the president said.

'They leave, they wake up in the morning and the glamour is gone, the whole world is different and they become hostile.'

The president's comments come less than a week after he feted Musk in the Oval Office, giving him an official farewell as the billionaire moved out of special government employee status and back into the private sector.

Trump noted that he had given Musk a 'wonderful send-off' on Friday before he headed to Pittsburgh to tout a steel deal between Nippon and U.S. Steel.

'Remember, he was here for a long time. You saw a man who was very happy. He stood behind the Oval desk. Even with a black eye,' Trump said.

'I said, "do you want a little makeup?" And he said,"No I don't think so,"which was interesting.'

'And very nice,'Trump added.'He wants to be who he is,' the president shrugged.

This is not just a disagreement, this looks like a bi-polar breakdown in Musk's head, how does it think there's anything right of starting this with Trump publicly. It's actually sinister when Musk knows about the assignation attempts, why let off an atom bomb about a bill?

That's not it, what else with Elon denied from the government, remember these decisions usually starts with the agencies and if necessary they go to PDJT.

Something extremely weird about this.

EXCLUSIVEInsane moment Elon Musk 'SHOVED' Trump's treasury secretary Scott Bessent during screaming match

By WILL POTTER (I wonder why Bannon gave all this info out on Elon, wouldn’t he have thought this would make the situation worse for Elon, humiliating him, and he’d try to take revenge?I think this was an ill advised interview. Also will this effect the rest of the team, since they were mostly all recruited by Elon?Who gave Bannon permission to do this?)

Elon Musk's swift departure from his signature Department of Government Efficiency and the White House was escalated by an outburst that turned violent, according to a high-profile insider.

Former Chief Strategist Steve Bannon told DailyMail.com that Musk's turbulent time in the White House was marred when he physically 'shoved' 62-year-old Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent after he was confronted over wild promises to save the administration 'a trillion dollars'.

'Scott Bessent called him out and said, 'You promised us a trillion dollars (in cuts), and now you're at like $100 billion, and nobody can find anything, what are you doing?'' the prominent MAGA figure revealed.'And that's when Elon got physical. It's a sore subject with him.

'It wasn't an argument, it was a physical confrontation. Elon basically shoved him.'

Bannon said the physical altercation came as the two billionaires moved from the Oval Office to outside Chief of Staff Susie Wiles' office, and then outside the office of the then National Security Advisor, Mike Waltz.

'Trump 100%' sided with Bessent after the clash, he added.'I don't think Bessent has any bad blood, but he's got a job to do and he's going to do it'.

The revelation of a confrontation between the pair was confirmed by White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt on Friday.

'It's no secret President Trump has put together a team of people who are incredibly passionate about the issues impacting our country', she said in a statement to DailyMail.com.

'Disagreements are a normal part of any healthy policy process, and ultimately everyone knows they serve at the pleasure of President Trump.'

Musk's time in the Trump White House as a 'special government employee' was only ever to last five months. But just as he was due to exit, he broke ranks by publicly trashing the administration's 'Big Beautiful' domestic bill.

As Musk's time at the White House came to a close, Bessent took to his X platform to publicly thank the Tesla CEO on his way out, saying he did 'very important work' and said he was 'committed to not letting the bureaucracy slow it down' now Musk is gone.

The revelations of the Musk-Bessant clash follow an explosive New York Times report that alleged Musk was using a cocktail of drugs on the campaign trail including ketamine, ecstasy and psychedelic mushrooms.

Bannon added that Musk also lost status in Trump's orbit when it was leaked to the New York Times in March that the billionaire was preparing to receive top-secret military briefings on China, which Trump abruptly stopped. (Who offered this briefing to Musk, Hegseth had to know that Musk is in some ways very controlled by China because of his cars built there, he should have never been invited to see any of it.)

The former chief strategist in Trump's first administration said the mounting issues with DOGE and the China briefings led toMusk losing face in the White House.

'The president backed (Bessent) just like the president didn't allow the briefing on China,' Bannon said. 'People in the administration and the White House realized he didn't have any idea what he's doing.'They cauterized the damage.'

Bannon said thepresident's decision to block Musk from receiving briefings on China 'made (Musk) realize that Trump was going to back his cabinet.''That's the inflection point, you see Elon all changed from that moment.'

The fight between Musk and Bessent was initially reported in April, however the extent of the alleged physicality of the clash was not previously known.

Bannon said Musk's alleged shortcomings with DOGE were exacerbated when Trump gave his State of the Union address earlier this year, when the president listed millions of allegedly fraudulent Social Security recipients aged over 100.While Musk claimed to have uncovered a scandal, it was alleged that these were primarily due to an accounting error, and no significant money was sent to these recipients.

'Not one penny was ever shown to have been sent to these people,'Bannon said. 'Is anyone trying to talk to Elon now? No.'

Musk's departure from the White House comes as the Trump administration is grappling with its 'Big Beautiful Bill' in Congress. The billionaire broke ranks earlier this week as he trashed the bill for its spending increases, which Musk fumed had 'undermined' the work he had done at DOGE.

But Bannon blamed the fallout from the bill squarely on Musk's shoulders, saying the White House and Congressional Republicans relied on him to cancel out the spending with his DOGE cuts and he didn't deliver.

'The political class on Capitol hill willingly got behind a pied piper and wasted five months,' he said.

'The people at fault here are Congress,' he continued. 'They wanted to have a fairy godmother come in and wave a magic wand and say, its all fraud, and get them off the hook.

'Particularly (Speaker) Johnson… they didn't invite Musk to Capitol hill because they think he's politically radioactive, and they all lined up and didn't do the work on these bills… There's no cuts.'

Bannon insisted that he was a supporter of the DOGE mission and said 'we have to cut out every penny we can', but felt Musk failed to live up to the promise.

With the nation's finances set to fall under the spotlight as Congress works to pass the 'Big Beautiful Bill', Bannon said the most pressing crisis will be the impact on the bond markets, and said the fallout could become a 'Liz Truss moment.'

'This is a crisis, unless we get our arms around this we're going to have a Liz Truss moment.'

Bannon clarified that he did not mean the crisis could bring Trump downin the way that it did with the former UK Prime Minister, but warned that the looming financial fallout could have the same impact on the markets that her bungled premiership had.

'Where is the fraud? The Pentagon is a cesspool of fraud, where is it? Where are the criminal referrals?' he added.
