Tucker Carlson

qpPX7owf_bigger.jpg

@TuckerCarlson

Mark Levin was at the White House today, lobbying for war with Iran. To be clear, Levin has no plans to fight in this or any other war. He’s demanding that American troops do it. We need to stop Iran from building nuclear weapons, he and likeminded ideologues in Washington are now arguing. They’re just weeks away.

If this sounds familiar, it's because the same people have been making the same claim since at least the 1990s. It’s a lie.In fact, there is zero credible intelligence that suggests Iran is anywhere near building a bomb, or has plans to. None. Anyone who claims otherwise is ignorant or dishonest. If the US government knew Iran was weeks from possessing a nuclear weapon, we’d be at war already.

Iran knows this, which is why they aren’t building one. Iran also knows it’s unwise to give up its weapons program entirely.Muammar Gaddafi tried that and wound up sodomized with a bayonet. As soon as Gaddafi disarmed, NATO killed him. Iran’s leaders saw that happen. They learned the obvious lesson.

So why is Mark Levin once again hyperventilating about weapons of mass destruction? To distract you from the real goal, which is regime change — young Americans heading back to the Middle East to topple yet another government. Virtually no one will say this out loud. America’s record of overthrowing foreign leaders is so embarrassingly counterproductive that regime change has become a synonym for disaster.Officially, no one supports it. So instead of telling the truth about their motives, they manufacture hysteria: “A country like Iran can never have the bomb! They’ll nuke Los Angeles! We have to act now!”

They don’t really mean this, and you can tell they don’t by what they omit.At least two of Iran’s neighbors — both Islamic nations — already have nuclear weapons. That fact should scare the hell out of Mark Levin. Yet for some reason he never mentions it. How come? Because it’s not the weapons he hates. It’s the ideology of the Iranian government, which is why he’s lobbying to overthrow it.

It goes without saying that there are very few Trump voters who’d support a regime change war in Iran. Donald Trump has argued loudly against reckless lunacy like this. Trump ran for president as a peace candidate. That’s what made him different from conventional Republicans. It’s why he won.A war with Iran would amount to a profound betrayal of his supporters. It would end his presidency. That may explain why so many of Trump’s enemies are advocating for it.

And then there’s the question of the war itself. Iran may not have nukes, but it has a fearsome arsenal of ballistic missiles, many of which are aimed at US military installations in the Gulf, as well as at our allies and at critical energy infrastructure. The first week of a war with Iran could easily kill thousands of Americans. It could also collapse our economy, as surging oil prices trigger unmanageable inflation. Consider the effects of $30 gasoline.

But the second week of the war could be even worse. Iran isn’t Iraq or Libya, or even North Korea. While it’s often described as a rogue state, Iran has powerful allies. It’s now part of a global bloc called BRICS, which represents the majority of the world’s landmass, population, economy and military power.Iran has extensive military ties with Russia. It sells the overwhelming majority of its oil exports to China. Iran isn’t alone. An attack on Iran could very easily become a world war. We’d lose.

None of these are far fetched predictions. Most of them comport with the Pentagon’s own estimates: many Americans would die during a war with Iran. People like Mark Levin don’t seem to care about this. It’s not relevant to them. Instead they insist that Iran give up all uranium enrichment, regardless of its purpose. They know perfectly well that Iran will never accept that demand. They’ll fight first. And of course that’s the whole point of pushing for it: to box the Trump administration into a regime change war in Iran.

The one thing that people like Mark Levin don’t want is a peaceful solution to the problem of Iran, despite the obvious benefits to the United States. They denounce anyone who advocates for a deal as a traitor and a bigot.

They tell us with a straight face that Long Island native Steve Witkoff is a secret tool of Islamic monarchies. They’ll say or do whatever it takes. They have no limits. These are scary people. Pray that Donald Trump ignores them.

Russian military retaliated against Kiev’s ‘terrorism’ – MOD

Targets of overnight strikes included drone assembly sites, training centers, and weapons repair facilities, the Defense Ministry has said

The Russian military has said its forces carried out large-scale overnight strikes against Ukrainian defense industry sites, using drones and long-range precision-guided weapons.

Ukrainian officials also reported waves of missile and drone attacks across multiple cities, including the capital Kiev, as well as Lviv and Lutsk on Friday morning.

The barrage, which included air-, sea-, and land-based missiles as well as unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs), was a response to recent “terrorist acts” carried out by Kiev, Russia’s Defense Ministry said on Friday.

Ukraine blew up railway bridges in Russia last week, derailing civilian and freight trains and killing at least seven and injuring over 120. Kiev also launched a coordinated drone strike on multiple Russian airbases, targeting long-range, nuclear-capable bombers stationed in Russia’s north and far east. Moscow has claimed that most drones were intercepted and the aircraft targeted was damaged by not destroyed.

The targets of Russia’sovernight strikes included “design bureaus, enterprises involved in production and repair of Ukraine’s weapons and military equipment, workshops for the assembly of attack drones, flight training centers as well as warehouses of weapons and military equipment,” the statement read. “The goal of the strike was achieved. All designated facilities were hit,” the ministry said.

According to Moscow,it was the sixth combined strike against Ukraine’s military-related targets carried out by the Russian forces since May 31.

Over the past week, attacks have hit Kiev’s defense industry enterprises; military airfields; production, storage and launch sites of drones; arms depotsas well as deployment points of Ukrainian military units and foreign mercenaries, according to the ministry.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has described the railway sabotage incidents as “undoubtedly a terrorist act” committed by the “illegitimate regime in Kiev,” which, he said, is “gradually turning into a terrorist organization.” Putin told his US counterpart Donald Trump in a phone call on Wednesdaythat Moscow “will have to respond” to the attacks on the country’s nuclear deterrent.

Leaked Ukrainian peace terms differ from version presented to Moscow

Kiev did not reject limitations on its armed forces in the text given to Russia

The memorandum Ukraine handed to Russia during Monday’s peace talks in Istanbulwas not the same as the version leaked to Western media, RT has learned. A key clause rejecting any limits on Ukraine’s armed forces– present in the leaked draft – was missing from the official proposal received by the Russian delegation.

The revelation casts new doubt over Kiev’s public stanceand suggests a possible divergence between Ukraine’s media messaging and its negotiating position behind closed doors.

According to a source, who reviewed the Ukrainian memorandum submitted at the Turkish meeting, the document omitted a paragraph found in the version published earlier this week by Reuters. Thatparagraph explicitly ruled out any restrictions on the size or deployment of Ukraine’s military forces or those of its allies.

The Reuters draft stated: “No restrictions may be imposed on the number, deployment, or other parameters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as on the deployment of troops of friendly foreign states on the territory of Ukraine.”

That language does not appear in the version reviewed by RT’s source.

The talks in Istanbul marked the second round of direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine in less than a month. Moscow’s proposal reportedly called on Kiev to recognize the loss of five territories that voted to join Russia in referendums, withdraw Ukrainian forces from those regions, commit to neutrality, and accept limitations on its military capacity.

On Wednesday,Ukraine's Vladimir Zelensky dismissed Moscow’s proposal out of hand, calling it “an ultimatum.”

“This memorandum is a misunderstanding,” he said, adding that the Istanbul process had become “meaningless.”

Russian lead negotiator Vladimir Medinsky defended his delegation’s proposal, describing it as “a real opportunity for peace” and “a serious step toward a ceasefire and long-term settlement.”

The discrepancy between the two versions of Ukraine’s memorandum islikely to raise fresh questions in Moscowabout the sincerity of Kiev’s approach to negotiations. No date has been set for a third round of talks.

(This is where I think Trump and Rubio are walking away. Ukraine is not serious. In a way they walked away the day Ukraine and rogue IC bombed Russia nuclear bombers. Trumps announcement was very clear, if you are American in Ukraine take cover or leave, Trump didn’t argue with Putin because Kiev messed with nuclear arsenal agreements, and that can’t be tolerated. The US will not block Russia in retaliation because Trump would do the same if it happened here. One of the reasons the Admin is not vocal about the Ukraine attack. Ukraine’s euphoria is not going to last.)

Ukraine coordinating jihadist attacks in Mali – media

Soldiers in the Sahel state have reportedly uncovered Ukrainian documents and drones in the possession of militants

Ukrainian military instructors are training and arming al-Qaeda-linked militants in Mali, according to local outlet Bamada.Jihadist groups in the West African country have been waging a deadly insurgency against authorities for more than a decade.

The discovery was made during recent operations by the Malian Armed Forces (FAMa)following renewed attacks by Jama’at Nasr al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM) jihadist group, Bamada has reported.

JNIM fighters reportedly attacked security posts in Sirakorola and Tanabougou, in Mali’s southwestern Koulikoro region, on May 30. According to the outlet,FAMa forces repelled the assault, seizing weapons, documents, and equipment—days after ambushing the militants near Djongue Bambara in the Sofara region, where they were trapped while attempting to flee across the Sebedaga River.

In a car abandoned by the attackers, Malian soldiers found a phone containing photos of Ukrainian security service documents, as well as a drone bearing Ukrainian writing,” Bamada said in a report published earlier this week.

“A preliminary investigation by the Malian military shows that the FPV drones were delivered to Mali via Mauritania by Ukrainian military instructors linked to Azawad fighters. It is highly likely that the Tuaregs, in turn, are sharing this equipment with JNIM as part of their alliance,” it added.

Additional documents allegedly linked to Ukraine’s military intelligence agency (HUR) were seized in the Sofara area.

“The documents indicate thatUkrainian agents coordinated terrorist attacksagainst FAMa near Mopti, supplied drones equipped with Ukrainian delivery systemsand even carried out drone attacks on Malian positions,” the outlet reported.

The Bamada report is thelatest in a series of accounts alleging Kiev’s involvement with terrorist groups in Mali and the wider Sahel. In August, Afrique Media cited military sources claiming thatUkrainian “sabotage units” had been assisting jihadist insurgentsin attacks against the Malian army, including with drones provided by Kiev.

Just last week, Russian Foreign Ministry official Tatyana Dovgalenkoaccused Kiev of funneling Western-supplied weapons to militants across Africa and training terrorist networksin the Sahel as part of “systematic efforts to destabilize the continent.”

The accusations were sparked by a July 2024 ambush by Tuareg rebels that left dozens of Malian soldiers and Russian Wagner operatives dead. A spokesman for the HUR called the attack a “successful military operation” by his agency.

The transitional government in Mali, along with its allies in neighboring Burkina Faso and Niger, which are also grappling with militant violence, have severed diplomatic ties with Kiev. The three countries, founding members of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES), haveended defense cooperation with France, accusing the former colonial power of fostering instability and covertly backing jihadist groups. The AES states have turned to Russia for security support.(France support for Ukraine is only to use them to retaliate to the countries that kicked France out, this is not about Ukraine, this is about Macron getting his own terrorism force.)

(I wonder if Rubio and the DOS are aware of Ukraine’s forays into Africa to train terrorists? Are they in America?)

EU financing ‘extremism’ – applicant state

The Georgian prime minister has accused Brussels of meddling and “lies” during the country’s frozen accession process

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has accused the EU of inciting and financing extremism in his country. The claim comes amid a deepening rift between Tbilisi and Brussels over alleged “democratic backsliding.”

Kobakhidze insisted on Thursdaythat his government has “indisputable” evidence that Western actors are backing anti-government protests in the country.

”We prove this with facts, videos, and [EU] financing practices. We have direct facts about how these people are financing extremism in our country. We talk to them with facts, but they respond with general phrases, and more often lies. This is sad,” Kobakhidze said, as cited by Rustavi 2.

Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili echoed the charge, stating that “extremism in Georgia is supported and financed from the budgets of the EU.”He added that he had written to EU Ambassador Pawel Herczynski detailing the accusations but had yet to receive a reply.

The ruling Georgian Dream party, which secured a decisive parliamentary majority in October 2024,has accused Western powers of interfering in the country’s domestic politics under the guise of “democracy promotion.”Officials in Tbilisi have drawn parallels to the 2014 Maidan uprising in Ukraine and say similar tactics are now being used to destabilize Georgia for refusing to adopt a confrontational stance against Russia in the Ukraine conflict.

Following Georgian Dream’s victory,a coalition of pro-Western parties alleged fraud and launched protests to force the government’s resignation. EU and US officials voiced support for the opposition, which Georgian leaders denounced as foreign meddling.

Brussels has also led a coordinated campaign against Georgia’s foreign influence transparency law, legislation that requires political organizations to disclose substantial foreign funding.Although similar laws exist across the West, the European External Action Service claimed the legislation in Georgia was “a serious setback for democracy” and warned it could “threaten the country’s EU path.”

Tensions spiked last month when French President Emmanuel Macron, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz issued a joint statement on Georgia’s Independence Day,accusing the government of “democratic backsliding.”Papuashvili dismissed the statement as “shameful,” saying it disrespected both the state and its people.

Georgia was granted EU candidate status in December 2023but has since suspended accession talks, citing Brussels’ increasingly coercive tone. The government, however, insists that it remains committed to eventual EU membership.

(The EU has done this in many countries and successfully turned them to EU loving leaders, like they did when they stole of Moldova election weeks ago. The EU is a terrorist organization now.)

EU state’s parliament expels MP for speaking Russian

Lawmakers are only allowed to use Latvian in the Saeima, according to the legislature’s new rules

A Latvian MP has been kicked out of a parliamentary session and could face further punishment for speaking Russian in violation of the legislature’s new rules, the head of the assembly has said.

The incident occurred on Thursday during discussions in the Saeima on a declaration to “eradicate the consequences” of the alleged “Russification” of Latvia, which authorities in Riga claim took place under Soviet rule from 1940 to 1991.

Since the escalation of the Ukraine conflict in 2022,Latvia and its Baltic neighbors, Estonia and Lithuania, have intensified their efforts against alleged Russian influence. Riga has implemented travel restrictions targeting Russian citizens, banned vehicles with license plates from the country, and introduced a mandatory Latvian language test for long-term residents of Russian origin. Thousands who failed or refused the exam have been deported. The Kremlin has denounced the measures as “blatant discrimination against Russians.”

Aleksey Roslikov of the For Stability! party spoke out in parliament against the declaration being included on the agenda. The party represents the interests of Russian-speakers in the EU country, who make up 24.5% of its population, according to a 2021 census.

The lawmaker criticized the growing marginalization of Russian speakers in Latvia, saying: “What is next? A law prohibiting Russian names for children because they sound Russian?”

Roslikov delivered his speech in Latvian, but concluded it with a phrase in Russian, proclaiming:“There are more of us, and Russian is our language.” The MP then displayed an obscene gesture to the audience.

The MP’s behavior outraged many of his colleagues, who instantly voted to expel him from the session of the parliament. The move was supported by 69 out 100 members of the legislature.

The speaker of the Saeima, Daiga Mierina, said that Roslikov had shown “disrespect” to his fellow lawmakers and could face further punishment, including a ban on attending up to six more parliament sessions and a warning.

In late May, the Saeima voted in new regulations, according to which the MPs should only communicate in the parliament in the official – Latvian – language.

Roslikov later told the media he had no regrets, calling his outburst appropriate when someone is denied the right to speak their own language.

Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev shared the video from the Saeima on his page on X and praised the Latvian MP for standing up for the Russian language. On the eve of Russian Language Day, which is marked on June 6, “decent people accessibly explained everything to the die-hard Russophobes in their native, Russian language,” Medvedev, who currently serves as deputy chair of Russia’s Security Council, wrote.

(Training adults to speak a language they can’t don’t know is impossible. And it’s just evil.)

Trump threatens to sanction both Russia and Ukraine

The US president has said he would act if a peace deal proves impossible, adding that the “deadline” is in his “brain”

US President Donald Trump has signaled that Washington could impose sanctions on both Russia and Ukraine if the conflict between the two nations does not come to an end.

Trump has thus far declined to commit to new sanctions on Russia, despite weeks of pressure from European leaders, saying only that he would act when the time felt right — and that moment had not yet come. He has also expressed concern that levying new restrictions could jeopardize peace talks between Moscow and Kiev.

During a meeting at the White House with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on Thursday,Trump said he would decide when to act if it became clear that a peace deal could not be reached, noting that “it’s in my brain, the deadline.”

He suggested he’d be willing to apply restrictions on both Russia and Ukraine, warning that “we’ll be very, very, very tough, and it could be on both countries to be honest.”

“You know, it takes two to tango,” the US president added.

Trump likened the Ukraine conflict to “two children fighting in a park.” He also said a sanctions bill moving through the US Senate would be “guided by me,”but suggested it might be better to let Russia and Ukraine continue fighting “for a while” before “pulling them apart.”

The US president was referring to legislation backed by Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, a longtime Russia hawk and Trump ally, that would impose a 500% tariff on countries that buy Russian energy, uranium, and other raw materials – measures aimed chiefly at India and China.

Trump’s statement comes as Kiev has ramped up attacks on Russian territory, including a UAV strike on several Russian airbases and recent acts of railway sabotage in Bryansk and Kursk regions, which claimed the lives of seven people and left scores injured.

Moscow has accused Kiev of orchestrating a series of violent incidents aimed at undermining peace talks.

Russia has also claimed that Trump is receiving “filtered” information about the Ukraine conflict from those pushing Washington toward supporting Kiev.

Moscow has repeatedly stressed that it is carrying out strikes on Ukrainian military-linked installations in response to Kiev’s increased drone attacks on Russian civilian targets.

In a previously unannounced phone conversation on Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin informed his US counterpart that Kiev’s recent attacks were intended to derail direct talks with Moscow, the second round of which took place in Istanbul on Monday.

Revealing details of the phone call, which he described as “a good conversation,” Trump said that the Russian president “did say, and very strongly, that he will have to respond to the recent attack on the airfields.”

(The funny thing is Merz has condemned Trump for months, and then he brings in Trump’s grandfathers birth certificate as if that will change his mind. Every EU leaders that met with him, have tried buttering him up, but it won’t work. The EU leaders all get a pamphlet of “How to talk to Trump”, like they think the combined goal will work. KEK! Merz lied his ass off of the horrible crimes Russia has committed in the Oval Office.)

US on track for biggest nuclear arms spending hike since Cold War – disarmament activists

The White House has proposed a 25% year-on-year increase in 2026 for the development of seven new versions of the B61-13 gravity bomb

The White House has proposed a spending increase on nuclear bomb development unseen since the Cold War, the Los Alamos Study Group has claimed.

The nuclear disarmament activist group based its conclusions on a technical supplement to the budget for the next fiscal year, as well as congressional testimonies by several senior officials released late last month.

In a press release on Wednesday, the group estimated that President Donald Trump’s administration is seeking $4.782 billion for the ‘Weapons Activities’ portion of the National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA’s) budget. The latter is the primary source of funds for the development, construction, and modernization of US nuclear warheads and bombs.

According to the activists, an additional $1.884 billion was allocated to the NNSA in the fiscal year 2025 to cover the damages caused to its installations by two hurricanes. However, this sum, which apparently has yet to be expended, was not tallied in the budget details under consideration.

The Los Alamos Study Group claimed that if this emergency funding is left out, the warhead budget proposed by the White House for 2026 would represent a 25% year-on-year increase – the largest hike since the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962.

If the $1.884 billion in question is included, the year-on-year increase would stand at 17% – a level unseen since 1982.

The proposed spending hike is expected to be put to a vote in Congress later this year.

In mid-May, US Secretary ofEnergy Chris Wright announced that NNSA had completed the manufacture of the first B61-13 gravity bomb, roughly a year ahead of schedule. It is the latest modification to the B61 family of nuclear bombs, which is the longest-serving among the key elements of the US nuclear triad’s air component. It has been in production since 1968.

The warhead is fitted with newer electronics and control features such as a tail kit, which effectively turns it into a guided munition. Its maximum yield is said to be approximately 360 kilotons – 24 times that of the bomb dropped by the US on Hiroshima.

If and when commissioned, the B61-13 will emerge as among the most powerful nuclear gravity bomb in the US arsenal. Several media outlets, citing unnamed officials, previously reported that its destructive force would make it the weapon of choice for targeting underground command and control facilities.

Meanwhile, six more new modifications of the B61 bomb family are currently being developed.

How the US deep state feeds the Ukraine war

Bloodthirsty American politicians like Lindsey Graham are eager to drag the war on forever, so they do everything to scupper negotiations1/2

The picture of Lindsey Graham, US Senator for South Carolina, and Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission, grinning into a camera in Brussels on June 2, is worth a thousand words.

Graham is one of the most extreme hardcore warmongers in Washington DC, and the competition is pretty stiff. Ever since he first became amember of the US Congress over 30 years ago– once in, American politicians are rarely voted out – he has devoted his career to arguing vehemently for war.

His remarks are often not just belligerent but also sadistic, such as when he recently posted that he hoped ‘Greta could swim’, meaning that he hoped her Gaza aid ship would be torpedoed. Joking about an attack on a civilian aid ship carrying a young female civilian activist is sick – and typical of Graham.

Like his old friend, the late Senator John McCain,Lindsey Graham is obsessed with the idea of war with Russia. He has been pushing for this since at least 2014. In 2016 he toldUkrainian soldiers, “Your fight is our fight.”

Graham’s presence in Brussels is therefore significant. Ever since von der Leyen’s appointment in 2019, she has pushed herself forward as the principal public face of the Brussels institutions.

Six years ago, she saidshe wanted to make the European Commission into a ‘geopolitical’ body– even though it has no role in foreign or military policy.

Since then, she has done little else than parade on the international stage. She is among the most hawkish and anti-Russian European figures, absurdly claiming, like French Foreign Minister Bruno Lemaire, that EU sanctions have brought the Russian economy to its knees.

The Graham-von der Leyen alliance is therefore a natural one – against Donald Trump. European politicians are often quite explicit in their view that Trump is now the enemy.

The same goes for Lindsey Graham. In Kiev last week, Graham explicitly challenged Trump’s authority to decide US foreign policy. He lambasted the very notion of negotiations with Russia – just as Zelensky did to Vance in the Oval office in February – and said that the president of the US is not the boss. “In America, you have more than one person at the card table. We have three branches of government,”– meaning that the Senate would soon impose its own sanctions on Russia, whatever the executive does. Graham’s budget bill from February is intended to spend even more money on the US military – as if that were possible – which means that he is marshalling the US deep state to fight back after initially reeling from the re-election of Trump.

Meanwhile, the Europeans’ determination to continue the war is existential. Their Russophobia, which goes back at least to the 2012 Russian presidential election, when Putin came back into the Kremlin,is extreme because their “Europe” is defined by its hostility to Russia. Russia is “the other Europe” which the EU does not want to be and which it defines itself against.

Von der Leyen and others want to use the war against Russia to federalise Europe and create a single state. Meanwhile, Trump’s Russia policy is based on sidelining Europe. When he first announced talks with the Russians, EU leaders demanded a seat at the table. They failed. US-Russia talks took place outside Europe – in Riyadh – while the Russia-Ukraine talks the EU vehemently opposed are taking place without the EU, in Istanbul.

Let us not forget how furiously EU leaders opposed talking to Russia. When Viktor Orban travelled to Kiev and Moscow last July, Ursula von der Leyen denounced Orban’s “appeasement”. The EU’s then chief diplomat said in an official statement that the EU “excludes official contacts between the EU and President Putin.”

John Laughland, who has a doctorate in philosophy from the University of Oxford and who has taught at universities in Paris and Rome, is a historian and specialist in international affairs.

2/2

The French foreign minister said in February that if Sergey Lavrov telephoned him he would not answer the call. Now these very same people claim they want to “force” the Russians to come and talk!

EU policy on Russia is now in ruins. That is why, like Graham, they are determined to stop Trump. Their attempts have been ever more desperate and ridiculous. On May 12, Kaja Kallas and other EU leaders said Russia “must agree” to a ceasefire before any talks. Three days later, those talks started anyway. Britain also tried to scupper them by saying it was “unacceptable” for Russia to demand recognition of the “annexed” regions, which is odd considering Britain is not a participant.

European credibility is therefore at zero. In March, the British prime minister had said that the plans to send British and French troops to Ukraine had entered “the operational phase.” They were ready, he claimed, to protect Ukraine’s security by directly entering the war zone. By April, these plans had been dropped.

On May 10, European leaders threatenedRussia with “massive sanctions” if it did not agree to a ceasefire immediately. Russia did not agree to a ceasefire and yet there have been no more “massive sanctions.” A 17th package of sanctions was indeed announced on May 14, but it was so weak that Hungary and Slovakia, who oppose the EU’s overall policy, let it pass. In any case, the 17th package clearly had nothing to do with the ultimatum because such sanctions take a long time to prepare.Instead, that is what Lindsey Graham was in Brussels to discuss.

The EU and the UK have thus sidelined themselves with their meaningless braggadocio. They cannot operate without the Americans. But which Americans? The claim that the White House did not know about the recent Ukrainian drone attack on Russian airfields might well be true: the US deep state, embodied by people like Graham, is clearly trying to undermine the executive. Both Lindsey Graham andformer CIA director Mike Pompeo were in Ukraine just days before the attack.

The political goal of the drone attack was obviously to scupper the talks scheduled for the following day in Istanbul, or to provoke Russia into a massive response and drag the US into the war.Even if the attack does not succeed in these goals, it clearly sets the tone for the future Ukrainian insurgency which, American and European officials hope, will turn that country into an 'Afghanistan' for Russia. The US deep state is in for the long game.

So are the Europeans. On May 9, 'Europe Day', European leaders confirmed their intention toset up a Special Tribunal for the crime of aggression, to prosecute Russia for invading in February 2022.

Western European states are already the primary financers of the International Criminal Court, whose prosecutor is British. The ICC indicted Russian leaders, including Putin, in 2023 and 2024, on various very surprising charges. (Ursula von der Leyen continued to lieabout “20,000 abducted children,” the day after the Ukrainians gave the Russians a list of 339 missing children.) Now the Europeans intend to open a new front in their 'lawfare' against Russia.

Such a Special Tribunal, if it comes into existence, will tear the heart out of any peace agreement– just as Ukraine’s acceptance of the jurisdiction of the ICC in 2014 and 2015 rendered the Minsk agreement of February 2015 null and void. With one side of its mouth, Ukraine asked the ICC to prosecute Russian officials and Donbass “terrorists”; with the other side, it agreed at Minsk that the Donbass insurgency was an internal Ukrainian problem and ruled out any prosecution or punishment (Article 5 of the February 2015 Minsk agreement).

It is not possible to agree a peace agreement with a country and at the same time to set up a Special Tribunal whose sole purpose is to criminalize it.So the creation of this Tribunal, which will presumably remain in existence for over a decade like the ad hoc tribunals for Yugoslavia and Rwanda,is nothing but a Euro-American institutional time bomb designed to blow up in the future any agreementwhich the two sides might reach in the short term.

The future of “Europe” depends on that.

Once Again Elon Musk Begins a Strategic Retreat

June 5, 2025 | Sundance |

Phone calls from the Tesla Board, Peter Thiel and especially Larry Ellison, tend to change things.

Remember, Bill Ackman is the billionaire who constructed the SPARC (special purpose acquisition rights company) to save Elon Musk and Twitter financially, before Larry Ellison (Oracle) stepped in.

Elon Musk also walked back from his threat to decommission the Dragon spacecraft {link}.
