Trump’s Deputies: Los Angeles Riots Prove Migrant ‘Invasion’
The pro-migration, foreign-flag riots in Los Angeles show the United States is facing an aggressive migration that should be recognized by judges as an “invasion,” deputies to President Donald Trump said.
“One of the main technical issues in the immigration judicial battles is whether Biden’s border crisis counted as an ‘invasion,'” Vice President JD Vance tweeted. “So now we have foreign nationals with no legal right to be in the country waving foreign flags and assaulting law enforcement. If only we had a good word for that…”Trump’s press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, tweeted, “In recent days, violent mobs have attacked ICE Officers and Federal Law Enforcement Agents carrying out basic deportation operations in Los Angeles, California. … These operations are essential to halting and reversing the invasion of illegal criminals into the United States. … These criminals will be arrested and swiftly brought to justice”:The debate over the “invasion” label is important because Trump is trying to use the special, fast-track deportation powers granted by the Alien Enemies Act of 1798. His overall deportation policy is popular, but several judges have declared that the huge influx of illegal migrants does not add up to an invasion.

Klobuchar: Trump ‘Hell Bent on Inflaming the Situation’ in Los Angeles
Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) said Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation” that President Donald Trump was “hell bent on inflaming the situation” in Los Angeles by sending the National Guard to address protests.
Klobuchar said, “Every governor is going to make their own decisions based on the situation. In this case, Governor Newsom has made clear that he wants local law enforcement protecting the citizens, and he has asked the president not to inflame the situation. In Governor Walz’s case, as you pointed out in the earlier segment, he did bring in the National Guard. I would also point out that on January 6, I was there as well, and what I saw there was, the president didn’t bring in the National Guard when over 100 police officers were injured or hurt or worse. And so I think it is quite, let’s say, ironic, probably doesn’t fit this situation, when you have got administration officials talking about protecting police officers after what happened on January 6. And when I look at what’s going on in California or across the country, of course, as a congressman said, you want to get dangerous criminals out of our midst, out of our communities, but when you look at where the American people are, they want to make sure you follow the law and that there’s due process, and you don’t want to inflame things by threatening to bring in the Marines, or deporting people based on a mistake.”

A nonprofit founded by Georgia Democratic politician Stacey Abrams to protect voting rights paid more than $20 million to a lawyer who is a close friend and helped set up two of her private businesses, according to tax and state incorporation filings and other records obtained by RealClearInvestigations.
Abrams’ Fair Fight Action redirected the tax-exempt donations and government grants to Allegra Lawrence-Hardy, her former campaign chair between 2019 and 2023. Most of the funds covered legal expenses charged by the boutique law firm Lawrence-Hardy co-founded, for a failed race-bias lawsuit filed against Abram’s Republican opponent, Gov. Brian Kemp, after she lost to him in Georgia’s 2018 gubernatorial election.
In its articles of incorporation, Fair Fight Action Inc. states that “The Corporation will not be operated for the pecuniary gain or profit of any individual.” They also said no revenues will be “distributed” to any individual except when “authorized to pay reasonable compensation for services rendered.”

Senior Department of Justice official Aaron Reitz is expected to depart the Trump administration as soon as next week and pursue a run for Texas attorney general, according to two people familiar with the situation.
Reitz currently serves as the assistant attorney general for the DOJ’s Office of Legal Policy. Confirmed at the end of March on a party-line vote, Reitz has focused at DOJ on recommending legal actions aimed at pushing corporations to end certain DEI initiatives, as well as other priorities.
Trump described Reitz as “a true MAGA warrior” when announcing his nomination in December. Prior to the DOJ, Reitz served as chief of staff to Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and also worked as Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s deputy. Paxton recently announced a challenge to Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas.

The Department of Homeland Security has deployed elite SWAT units to quell the ongoing insurrection in Los Angeles that erupted on Friday night.
After a second consecutive day of rioting and attacks on federal agents conducting immigration enforcement actions, Border Patrol Chief Michael W. Banks announced that a massive federal response was underway.
“Several arrests have already been made for assault on a federal agent. ANY attack on our agents or officers will not be tolerated,” Banks announced at 2:12 p.m. local time. “You will be arrested and federally prosecuted.”

Fox News border correspondent Bill Melugin reported that elite Border Patrol Tactical (BORTAC) units were responding to the unrest in force. “Elite Border Patrol BORTAC units are on scene in Los Angeles. They are the elite of the elite within DHS. Border Patrol SWAT,” Melugin wrote in an X post.
“They are the ones who rushed and killed the Uvalde school shooter when local police waited around. Not the guys you want to mess with if you’re there.”
