Although this presidency seems fatally shot in the wing one should also consider that it would prove very difficult to demote a French president, to prematurely end his term of reign, I think of him as more monarchic then an American president with less checks and balances. They shortened the duration between elections as a safeguard no doubt but the only solution seems to be to suffer the bugger until next elections.
