White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt slammed reports that Donald Trump is preparing to send thousands more illegal migrants to the infamous terrorist detention center at Guantanamo Bay starting this week.

'This story is Fake News. Not happening,' Leavitt shared on Xto squash reports on what would be a major acceleration of Trump's sweeping illegal immigration crackdown.

In February, Trump deployed members of the Armed Forces to the jail known as 'Gitmo' for short to expand the capacity of a detention facility at the Cuba base.

This week, at least 9,000 people are being identified for a potential transfer to the prison as early as Wednesday, Politico reported, including Brits and other Europeans.

Currently, around 500 migrants have been held at Guantanamo Bay's prison for short stints over the past few months as they await transfer.

These reported holds would also be temporary, as it would be a pit stop on the way to being deported to the country from which they emigrated.
