There was no way to stop it. It is too hot. Nothing will put it out. it just races through everything. The only way they could stop it was by creating a burn back line. They burned all the fuel in its path at one line. But, there was no saving hundreds of beautiful homes. Redding is an outdoorsy place, fishing, cabins, townies, skiing. Thisis a shame. It is just suspect because there is so much tension in California with ideologues trying to stuff their beliefs down everyone's throat. Housing is a real hot button issue. Sonoma fires last year are believed to been started byPG and E.

Nothing is normal in California right now. nothing. Bizarre traffic accidents the last few days in the Bay Area. Terrible fire. That Redding fire is just awful. Unstoppable and a gorgeous area. In one week three people were murdered by strangers on Bart. I've been in a fire like that. The only way to stop it is to make a burn back line.
