Russian envoy shares details of Trump meeting

Ambassador Alexander Darchiev discussed restoring bilateral ties with the US president

Russia’s new ambassador to the United States, Alexander Darchiev, saidhe held a brief but “very constructive” meeting with President Donald Trump on Wednesday, after formally presenting his credentials at the White House.

Trump held a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin on June 4 –their fourth conversation since Trump returned to the White House.

We agreed on the need to restore ties in accordance with the instructions issued by Presidents Putin and Trump during their phone conversation,” Darchiev told RIA Novosti at the Russian Embassy following the meeting.

“I assured the president that, in line with the directives I received,I will do everything possible to help restore Russian-US relations and return them to a state of normalcy and common sense,” he added.

“A window of opportunity has opened to rebuild relations on the basis of mutual trust and equality,” the envoy said. “Russia and the United States are destined, as great powers, to have a non-confrontational and peaceful coexistence.”

Darchiev noted that the two sides are discussing business initiatives and the resumption of direct flights. He earlier told TASS that the embassy=would work toward lifting what he called “absurd” restrictions on Russian diplomatic activity in the US, as well as simplifying visa procedures.

Under former President Joe Biden, the US severed nearly all direct contact with Russia in 2022 over the conflict in Ukraine and imposed sweeping sanctions on Russian officials and businesses. Trump has criticized his predecessor for sidelining diplomacy and pledged to broker a peace deal between Moscow and Kiev.

While Moscow has praised Trump and his team for their shift in rhetoric and willingness to engage, no breakthrough has been achieved. Trump has threatened to impose additional measures on Russia if a ceasefire is not reached, but he has not endorsed the sanctions bill currently under consideration in the Senate.

US authorizes partial evacuation of Middle East embassies

Washington reportedly believes Israel could strike Iran’s nuclear sites without its approval

The US has begun evacuating non-essential personnel and family members from its embassies and military bases in the Middle East in light of escalating tensions with Iran.

The move follows President Donald Trump’s accusation that Tehran is “slow-walking”negotiations.

“Based on our latest analysis, we decided to reduce the footprint of our Mission in Iraq,” the State Department said in an emailed statement to the media on Wednesday. Reuters cited a US official as saying that voluntary departures had also been authorized at the embassies in Kuwait and Bahrain.

The Pentagon has likewise approved the departure of family members from military installations in the region. “CENTCOM is working in close coordination with our Department of State counterparts, as well as our allies and partners in the region, to maintain a constant state of readiness to support any number of missions around the world at any time,” a defense official told reporters.

According to the Washington Post,American intelligence officials are concerned that Israel may strike Iranian nuclear facilities without US consent. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office dismissed reports last month that Israel was discussing potential strikes with Trump as “fake news.”

In an interview with the New York Post aired on Wednesday, Trump said he was “less confident”about reaching a deal with Iran after five rounds of negotiations mediated by Oman failed to produce a breakthrough. The president previously said he wanted to completely dismantle Iran’s nuclear program – something Tehran has firmly rejected.

“Iran is not seeking a nuclear weapon, and US militarism only fuels instability,” the Iranian mission to the UN said in a statement on X.Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh warned that Iran would “target all US bases across the region without hesitation” if attacked.

Trump withdrew the US from the 2015 UN-backed nuclear agreement during his first term, accusing Iran of secretly violating its terms. Tehran has denied the allegations but has since scaled back its commitments and expanded its stockpile of enriched uranium.

(So this is a US and Iran showdown, their belligerence was not the tool to use on PDJT, he is serious that both sides can thrive in this world together.Israel is the crazy cousin that would destroy us all.)

No quick breakthroughs in US-Russia relations – Kremlin

Diplomats still have a lot of “logjams” and “irritants” to clear, spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said

Russia and the US still have a lot of issues to resolve in bilateral ties and it would be unwise to expect quick results, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Peskov was asked to comment on the state of relations between Moscow and Washington, as well as whether the deeply problematic Ukraine settlement process has complicated matters.

The spokesman stressed that Russia and the US continue working on restoring bilateral ties, which sank to the all-time low during the administration of former US President Joe Biden. “There are many logjams,” Peskov admitted. “Quick results are unlikely. But a difficult, step-by-step process has begun and will continue.”

The consultations on the “irritants,” he said, are being handled by the two countries' foreign ministriesas agreed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump.

Peskov's remarks came after Aleksandr Darchiev,Russia’s new ambassador to the US, said that the two countries are shifting the venue of their talks from neutral locationsto Moscow and Washington. “The next round will take place in Moscow in the very near future,” he told TASS.

Darchiev echoed Peskov’s assessment thatrelations remain “far from recovery” due to deep-seated anti-Russia sentiment within the US political establishment. “The process is difficult and is being obstructed not only by opponents of the White House in the so-called deep state, but also by hawks in Congress where a stable anti-Russian lobby exists,” he said.

The ambassador noted thatRussia’s priorities are the return of diplomatic property seized in the US, as well as the resumption of direct flights between the two countries, which were suspended following the escalation of the Ukraine conflict in 2022.

Russia and the US resumed full-scale diplomatic engagement after Trump’s inauguration. The new US leader positioned himself as a key mediator in the Ukraine conflict.Russia and the US have held several rounds of talks dedicated both to the restoration of bilateral tiesand to ending the hostilities between Moscow and Kiev. Two prisoner swaps between Russia and Ukraine have also been held since Trump took office.

(The DS in the U.S. will hate reading this and the hardened prior Soviet leaders will have a harder time, their solution is to bomb all foreign nations into smithereens. Not unlike the DS of the U.S.Very interesting they are discussing and communicating this in public.)

Trump Appeals Bogus ‘Hush Money’ Conviction.

PULSE POINTS:

❓What Happened: President Donald J. Trump’s attorneys are appealing his conviction in a so-called hush money case in New York, seeking to move it to federal court following last year’s U.S. Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity.

👥 Who’s Involved: President Trump, Manhattan District Attorney (DA) Alvin Bragg, the U.S. Supreme Court, and a three-judge panel from the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

📍 Where & When: New York, with oral arguments occurring on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.

💬Key Quote: “President Trump had good cause to pursue a post-trial removal for a simple reason: he could not have raised any of the arguments set forth herein until well after his trial began,” Trump’s attorneys stated.

⚠️ Impact:A successful appeal could overturn Trump’s conviction and potentially set new precedents for cases involving presidential immunity.

IN FULL:

President Donald J. Trump’s legal team is set to present arguments on Monday in an effort to move his state-level “hush money” conviction for supposedly falsifying business records ==to federal court.

The appeal comes after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled last July that presidents are immune from federal prosecution for certain official acts, although not for unofficial acts.

==Trump’s attorneys argue that his conviction stems from actions tied to his official duties as President, making the case eligible for federal jurisdiction.

The America First leader was convicted last year on 34 counts related to a 2016 payment made by his then-lawyer, Michael Cohen, to adult film actress Stormy Daniels.

Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing, asserting the case is politically motivated.

In January, just days before his inauguration, Trump received an unconditional discharge in the case brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. The sentence included no jail time, probation, or fines, ==but Trump remains a convicted felon under state law and cannot pardon himself in the matter.

Trump’s legal team is now leveraging the Supreme Court’s July decision to argue for a post-trial removal of the case to federal court.== They claim the ruling provides “good cause” for the renewed appeal, as the decision was issued after Trump’s conviction in May.

“PresidentTrump had good causeto pursue a post-trial removal for a simple reason:he could not have raised any of the arguments set forth herein until well after his trial began,” his attorneys wrote in court filings.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) filed an amicus brief earlier this year in support of Trump’s effort, but Bragg’s office opposes the move.

Prosecutors argue that the Supreme Court ruling does not apply in this case, accusing Trump of showing a “lack of diligence” by waiting two months after the decision to renew his efforts. They also contend that the unconditional discharge makes the appeal moot.

A ruling in Trump’s favor could overturn his conviction and reshape the legal landscape surrounding presidential immunity claims.
