Just the act of ending radicalization would take radical action that will further divide and isolate large swaths of society who will necessarily reorganize as the outsiders and drive a wedge back into society. Chile tried that with the disappearances, Cambodia with the killing fields and the Soviets with reeducation camps. Once the deep divisions have set deep roots, the original society never recovers.
Further, we are well past the stage where we can ignore the differences and just act like they are not real. We no longer have one goal that most Americans can agree on.
