South Korean scientists have conducted a lab experiment that made a purported wild avian influenza “bird flu” virus 100% lethal in mammals, achieving total death in infected mice by enabling the virus to adapt inside their bodies and spread to others.

The dangerous move comes as the U.S. develops a “next-generation” universal vaccine platform called ‘Generation Gold Standard’ that will focus on avian influenza jab creation, signaling a coordinated international push to engineer and preemptively vaccinate against lab-enhanced bird flu strains with pandemic potential—despite worldwide fallout from similar COVID-era strategies.

Published June 2025 in Virology Journal, the study describes how researchers at Konkuk University infected mice with a highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza strain—one that already contained a small percentage (4%) of a mammalian-adaptive mutation known as PB2-E627K.

That tiny minority of mutant virus was enough to take over and kill every infected host.

“All challenged mice died by 8 dpc. Transmission through direct-contact occurred in 100% of cases, and all contact mice died within 12 days.”

This was not an accidental discovery.

Researchers intentionally infected mammals with a virus they knew contained a mutation that helps bird flu spread and replicate more effectively in mammals, including humans.

Once inside the mice, the mutation exploded to near-total dominance—not just in the lungs, but in the brain, where it caused seizures, ataxia, and fatal neurological damage.

The president’s special envoy has called his boss an “incredible friend” of the Jewish people

US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff has quipped that Donald Trump could serve as both US president and Israeli prime minister. While Trump has traditionally positioned himself as strongly pro-Israel, Witkoff’s remarks come amid reports of a strong rift between the US leader and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Speaking at a fundraising gala for the emergency response group United Hatzalah in New York on Wednesday, Witkoff described Trump as “an incredible friend to the Jewish people.”

“No disrespect to Prime Minister Netanyahu, who I actually spoke to today, but I think President Trump could be the first sitting president who could be prime minister of Israel at the same time,” Witkoff said, drawing laughter and applause from the audience.

The US embassy in Israel will boycott this year’s Tel Aviv Pride parade and will not host any Pride Month events of its own, marking a stark departure from previous years.

A letter from the embassy informing Israel of the decision cited the “priorities of the Trump administration,” which has embraced conservative values and shifted away from support for progressive causes, the Haaretz daily reported.

The letter, sent by email to the Foreign Ministry in February, referred to the “LGB community,” dropping the TQ+ in line with Washington’s policy against recognizing the trans community.

The policy matches a State Department directive to embassies around the world not to cooperate with pride marches, Haaretz reported.

The Tel Aviv Pride march, the largest such event in the Middle East, is set to take place Friday, drawing thousands to the famously open city.

Instead of a parade, Tel Aviv’s Pride events last year culminated in a toned-down rally that highlighted the plight of the hostages and the wartime contributions of soldiers from the LGBTQ community.

The Association for LGBTQ Equality in Israel said it was “disappointed that the team from the US Embassy in Israel will be forced to stand on the side instead of marching with us, as they did, with pride and without fear, for years.”

“What begins with the harassment of trans people quickly spirals to the exclusion of an entire community,” it warned in a post to its Facebook page.

Tel Aviv City Council member Reut Naggar, who jointly holds the municipality’s pride portfolio, told Haaretz that in previous years, the US embassy supported the city’s pride march in various ways.

There were no US embassy representatives at the Jerusalem Pride March last week, Haaretz noted in its report. A number of foreign envoys, including the ambassadors from Germany, France, Ireland, and the European Union, did attend.

New US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, a devout Evangelical Christian, is himself an opponent of LGBTQ equality.

In 2015, he said asking Christians to accept same-sex marriage is “like asking someone Jewish to start serving bacon-wrapped shrimp in their deli.” He has not since backed down from that position.

SmartAttack uses smartwatches to steal data from air-gapped systems

A new attack dubbed 'SmartAttack' uses smartwatches as a covert ultrasonic signal receiver to exfiltrate data from physically isolated (air-gapped) systems.

Air-gapped systems, commonly deployed in mission-critical environments such as government facilities, weapons platforms, and nuclear power plants, are physically isolated from external networks to prevent malware infections and data theft.

Despite this isolation, they remain vulnerable to compromise through insider threats such as rogue employees using USB drives or state-sponsored supply chain attacks.

Once infiltrated, malware can operate covertly, using stealthy techniques to modulate the physical characteristics of hardware components to transmit sensitive data to a nearby receiver without interfering with the system's regular operations.

SmartAttack was devised by Israeli university researchers led by Mordechai Guri, a specialist in the field of covert attack channels who previously presented methods to leak data using LCD screen noise, RAM modulation, network card LEDs, USB drive RF signals, SATA cables, and power supplies.

While attacks on air-gapped environments are, in many cases, theoretical and extremely difficult to achieve, they still present interesting and novel approaches to exfiltrate data.

How SmartAttack works

SmartAttack requires malware to somehow infect an air-gapped computer to gather sensitive information such as keystrokes, encryption keys, and credentials. It can then use the computer's built-in speaker to emit ultrasonic signals to the environment.

By using a binary frequency shift keying (B-FSK), the audio signal frequencies can be modulated to represent binary data, aka ones and zeroes. A frequency of 18.5 kHz represents "0," while 19.5 kHz denotes "1."

Republicans Push Federal Ban On Blocking Interstates After L.A. Riots Cause Highway Chaos

Congressional Republicans are advancing a bill that would make it a federal crime to block interstate highways after mass demonstrations in Los Angeles caused major backups on key roadways.

Republican Rep. Mike Collins of Georgia reintroduced the bill, the Safe Passage on Interstates Act, in February after it stalled in the Senate last year. The legislation would create a federal law against the intentional obstruction of interstate highways.

“There is nothing ‘peaceful’ about the riots and looting we’ve seen in Los Angeles. Blue states and cities have shown that they would rather have lawlessness and disfunction over law and order, and we need to get these people off our streets and in jail where they belong,” Collins told The Daily Wire in a statement. “The Safe Passage on Interstates Act would give [Attorney General] Pam Bondi and [FBI Director] Kash Patel the tools to put an end to highway protests and lock these criminals up.”

The push to give more tools to federal authorities comes after demonstrators have repeatedly flooded the 101 Freeway in Los Angeles, stopping traffic and causing backups. Protesters again took over the freeway on Tuesday evening, until Los Angeles Police Department officers pushed the mob off the freeway onto a parallel road.

Similar demonstrations could break out in major cities across the United States. Protests took place in at least two dozen other major cities on Monday, from Seattle, Washington, to Jacksonville, Florida. Demonstrators marched in opposition to federal authorities enforcing immigration law and deporting illegal aliens.

In statements to The Daily Wire, co-sponsors of the bill and members of the Republican Study Committee, the largest conservative caucus in the House, of which Collins is a member, are pushing Collins’ bill as an antidote to the flashes of anarchy that have broken out on interstate highways. The bill is needed sooner rather than later to prevent riots from spreading throughout the country.

California Rep. Tom McClintock said the bill “will save lives.”

“All Americans have the right to peaceful protest, but when cars are lit on fire and ambulances are blocked on major roadways, it is no longer peaceful,” said McClintock.

Oklahoma Rep. Stephanie Bice blamed the chaos in Los Angeles on “local leaders” such as Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass. Bice called Collins’ bill “a step towards restoring law and order and safeguarding communities from radical protestors intent on sowing chaos throughout the country.”

Ohio’s Dave Taylor said that “From families driving their children to school, to truck drivers transporting goods, to law enforcement responding to emergencies, we all depend on our Nation’s roads being clear and safe every day.”

Texas Rep. Andy Weber called the bill “more critical than ever.”

“Blocking our highways and disrupting the daily lives of law-abiding Americans is not a form of protest – it’s lawlessness, and it must not be tolerated,” he said.

The Government Is Actively Spying on Everyone of us

Back in 1949 the world was still recovering from World War II. The Korean War wouldn’t start for another year, but George Orwell was already focused on the dangers of communism and the totalitarianist government it builds. World War II was started by totalitarian governments; but worse than that was how such governments treat the citizens living under their control.

In his book 1984, the government, encapsulated in the persona of “Big Brother,” knew everything about everyone; where they were, what they were doing and even what they were thinking much of the time. This was used to keep control of people to an extreme that even the now defunct Soviet Union couldn’t reach. Yet with modern technology, the reality of such a government could very well be forming around us and we don’t even see it happening.

As we know, the government is actively spying on every one of us. That’s the essence of Edward Snowden’s message, since he left the employ of the NSA. While that spying is intended to help prevent terrorism, we’ve seen some in government be awfully free in their use of that term. One can quickly find themselves labeled as a terrorist if the political winds blow the wrong way.

On top of the NSA, big tech is in cahoots with government in a number of ways, most especially with providing information to law enforcement officers, as they seek to solve crimes. But that same information which is being used for the good of tracking down and convicting criminals can very well be used against the rest of us. After all, any of us can become an instant felon, simply by Congress passing a law making something that has been legal, suddenly illegal.

An excellent case in point is the current push by Democrats to restrict our Second Amendment rights. Should they do that, then millions of law-abiding citizens will suddenly be faced with the option of turning in valuable firearms or hiding them from the government. Will the government hunt down those who haven’t turned in their guns, using the same tools they are currently using to track down criminals? Only time will tell.

So, what can we do to keep the government from having an idea where we are and what we are doing? To start with, we need to understand that the government has multiple means of tracking us, not just one or two. That means we’re going to have to defeat them all, if we expect to protect ourselves from electronic spying.

Starving Gaza into Submission: the Final Chapter of Genocide

This is the end. The final blood-soaked chapter of the genocide. It will be over soon. Weeks. At most. Two million people are camped out amongst the rubble or in the open air. Dozens are killed and wounded daily from Israeli shells, missiles, drones, bombs and bullets. They lack clean water, medicine and food. They have reached a point of collapse. Sick. Injured. In the last pages of this horror story, Israel is sadistically baiting starving Palestinians with promises of food, luring them to the narrow and congested nine-mile ribbon of land that borders Egypt. Israel and its cynically named Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), allegedly funded by Israel’s Ministry of Defense and the Mossad, is weaponizing starvation. It is enticing Palestinians to southern Gaza the way the Nazis enticed starving Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto to board trains to the death camps. The goal is not to feed the Palestinians. No one seriously argues there is enough food or aid hubs. The goal is to cram Palestinians into heavily guarded compounds and deport them.

What comes next? I long ago stopped trying to predict the future. Fate has a way of surprising us. But there will be a final humanitarian explosion in Gaza’s human slaughterhouse. We see it with the surging crowds of Palestinians fighting to get a food parcel, which has resulted in Israeli and U.S. private contractors shooting dead at least 130 and wounding over seven hundred others in the first eight days of aid distribution. We see it with Benjamin Netanyahu’s arming ISIS-linked gangs in Gaza that loot food supplies. Israel, which has eliminated hundreds of employees with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), doctors, journalists, civil servants and police in targeted assassinations, has orchestrated the implosion of civil society.

I suspect Israel will facilitate a breach in the fence along the Egyptian border. Desperate Palestinians will stampede into the Egyptian Sinai. Maybe it will end some other way. But it will end soon. There is not much more Palestinians can take.

We — full participants in this genocide — will have achieved our demented goal of emptying Gaza and expanding Greater Israel. We will bring down the curtain on the live-streamed genocide. We will have mocked the ubiquitous university programs of Holocaust studies, designed, it turns out, not to equip us to end genocides, but deify Israel as an eternal victim licensed to carry out mass slaughter. The mantra of never again is a joke. The understanding that when we have the capacity to halt genocide and we do not, we are culpable, does not apply to us. Genocide is public policy. Endorsed and sustained by our two ruling parties.

There is nothing left to say. Maybe that is the point. To render us speechless. Who does not feel paralyzed? And maybe, that too, is the point. To paralyze us. Who is not traumatized? And maybe that too was planned. Nothing we do, it seems, can halt the killing. We feel defenseless. We feel helpless. Genocide as spectacle.

I have stopped looking at the images. The rows of little shrouded bodies. The decapitated men and women. Families burned alive in their tents. The children who have lost limbs or are paralyzed. The chalky death masks of those pulled from under the rubble. The wails of grief. The emaciated faces. I can’t.

This genocide will haunt us. It will echo down history with the force of a tsunami. It will divide us forever. There is no going back.

And how will we remember? By not remembering.

IAEA an 'instrument for Israel,' secret documents seized by Iran reveal

The thousands of sensitive documents on Israel’s nuclear program, which Tehran said its intelligence managed to obtain, reveal direct cooperation between Tel Aviv and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) against Iran, according to an Iranian media report.

“These documents clearly show that instead of playing a neutral role, the IAEA has become an instrument serving the objectives of the Zionist regime,” Fars news agency cited an informed source as saying on 10 June.

The documents prove that “Iran’s official and confidential letters to the IAEA – containing sensitive information – were channeled to the espionage agencies of the Zionist regime through covert conduits,” the report added.

Israeli defense minister orders army to block North African aid convoy from entering Gaza

Egypt says all foreign delegations seeking to visit border area near Gaza must obtain ‘prior approval’ through official channels

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz ordered the army Wednesday to prevent a North African aid convoy from entering the besieged Gaza Strip.

A statement from his office said Katz instructed the army to block the entry of “jihadist protesters” from entering Gaza from Egypt.

“I expect the Egyptian authorities to prevent them from reaching the Egypt-Israel border and not allow them to carry out provocations and try to enter Gaza,” he added.

Later, Egypt said that all foreign delegations seeking to visit the border area near Gaza, including the city of Arish and the Rafah crossing, must obtain "prior approval" through official channels.

It did not clarify whether the convoy had obtained the required approvals or not.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry stressed that “no visit requests outside the established framework would be considered,” highlighting the need to safeguard visiting delegations given the situation along the Gaza border.

Egypt also reiterated that all foreign nationals must comply with local entry laws, including obtaining the necessary visas or permits in advance.

The convoy of more than 1,000 activists from North African countries, consisting of 12 buses and 100 private cars, set off from Tunisia on Monday. It is expected to reach Egypt on Thursday before arriving in the city of Rafah near the border with Gaza.

The Israeli army, rejecting international calls for a ceasefire, has pursued a brutal offensive against Gaza since October 2023, killing over 55,100 Palestinians, most of them women and children.

As Israel has continued to close all Gaza’s border crossings to humanitarian aid since early March, aid agencies have warned about the risk of famine among Gaza’s 2.4 million inhabitants.

Ex-CIA analyst who admitted leaking docs about Israeli strike on Iran gets 37 months in prison

An ex-CIA analyst was sentenced to more than three years in prison Wednesday for leaking top secret documents about Israel’s plans to retaliate against Iran last year.

Asif William Rahman, 34, had pleaded guilty in January to two counts of willful retention and transmission of classified information after he was arrested for absconding with records from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency last October that indicated Israel was planning to launch airstrikes in response to a massive Iranian missile attack.

Rahman, who had been a CIA employee since 2016 and had access to top secret documents, leaked the stolen information on social media platforms — forcing Israel to delay its attack.

He was sentenced to three years and one month in federal prison by US District Judge Patricia Tolliver Giles, which is less than the government had demanded.

“The urgency with which Mr. Rahman was identified, arrested, charged, and prosecuted is a testament to the commitment and professionalism of the investigators and prosecutors who brought him to justice.

“This case should serve as a stern warning to those who choose to place their own goals over their allegiance to our nation.”

Rahman was working in the US Embassy in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on Oct. 17, 2024, when he sneaked the documents out in his backpack, brought them to his home, photographed them and then transmitted them to other individuals, before destroying evidence of his actions, according to the Justice Department.

The top secret documents appeared on the “Middle East Spectator” Telegram channel the following day and “appeared publicly on multiple social media platforms, complete with the classification ranking,” prosecutors said.

The documents laid out intelligence gathered from satellite images of an Israeli base taken on Oct. 15 and 16.

The breach forced Israeli officials to postpone their attack until Oct. 26.

Now contraceptive pill taken by millions is linked to brain tumours - after warning is issued over jab

Millions of women using a common contraceptive pill could be at greater risk of developing a brain tumour, new research suggests.

The mini-pill—a daily birth control tablet that contains the hormone progesterone—is often prescribed as an alternative to the standard combined pill, which contains both progesterone and another hormone, oestrogen.

But scientists have now found that women who take it for more than five years are more likely to develop a brain tumour known as a meningioma.

Although usually non-cancerous, these tumours can still be dangerous as they grow, pressing on the brain and causing symptoms such as headaches, seizures, vision problems and memory loss.

The warning comes just weeks after it emerged that hundreds of women in the UK are considering legal action over fears that a contraceptive injection containing similar hormones may pose the same risk.

A separate study earlier this year found that women who had the jab for more than a year were five times more likely to develop a meningioma.

In the latest research, French scientists analysed medical records from over 8,000 women who had surgery for the condition.

They found many had been taking a mini-pill containing the active ingredient desogestrel—a type of progesterone—for five years or longer.

Desogestrel is often prescribed to women who cannot take oestrogen-containing contraception due to health reasons or side effects.

Although the study did find a link between long-term use and meningioma, the researchers, writing in the British Medical Journal, stressed that the increased risk was small.

They estimated that just one in every 67,000 women taking desogestrel would develop a meningioma serious enough to require surgery.

The increased risk was only seen in those who had taken the mini-pill for five years or more—and disappeared within a year of stopping treatment.

Meningiomas are tumours that form in the lining of the brain. More than 90 per cent are not cancerous, but they can still cause serious problems as they grow.

Every year proportion of patients who suffer one will need surgery to remove the tumour due to it causing increased internal pressure on the brain.

Common symptoms of a meningioma include a persistent headache as well as constant nausea which is often accompanied with drowsiness.

The Anti-Defamation League and the American Jewish Committee demanded money, internet censorship and pre-crime programs in the name of "Jewish safety" during a GOP-led House hearing on anti-Semitism on Wednesday.

Oren Segal of the Anti-Defamation League opened the hearing by proclaiming that "online platforms like Telegram, among others, enable foreign terrorist organizations to share and promote their propaganda to thousands across the US and around the globe."

Segal continued:

Urgent 'do not eat' warning issued for popular sweets due to cancer fears

An urgent recall for several popular Jolly Rancher sweet products has been issued over fears they contain a banned ingredients linked to cancer.

Those who've already eaten them should not panic, watchdog the Food Standards Agency (FSA) has warned, as the risk is low, but urged customers to disposed of them.

These include Hard Candy, 'Misfits' Gummies, Hard Candy Fruity 2 in 1, and Berry Gummies, all made by Hershey.

The sweets were found to contain the harmful chemicals Mineral Oil Aromatic Hydrocarbons (MOAH) and Mineral Oil Saturated Hydrocarbon (MOSH).

These chemicals, derived from crude oil, have been linked to serious illnesses including cancer, particularly in the liver and lymph nodes.

This makes the sweets unsafe to eat, particularly over long periods of time, and not compliant with UK law.

American multi-national firm Hershey told UK regulators it has already taken action to remove the affected brands from the British market.

But the FSA warned that some businesses are still selling Jolly Rancher products containing the banned additive, and have urged authorities to remove them from shelves.

'Bottom of darkness': Children raped in ritual ceremonies expose the horrors

Multiple women recount organized abuse including ritual ceremonies conducted by people they knew, even close family members – after months of interviews with victims, their families, treatment professionals and experts in Israel and abroad, a disturbing picture emerges with descriptions difficult to read.

"I suffered painful sodomy, truly felt like I was splitting in two. It's a terrible experience, but there's something about these things, perhaps in their strangeness, that's like… maybe the hardest component is that if you tell people about these things, they'll think you're crazy. I remember many types of severe sexual abuse, but there's something about these ritualistic abuses that makes them the bottom of darkness."

In direct words and with a clear voice, Emunah (pseudonym, like all victims' names in this article) describes the severe abuse she allegedly experienced in her childhood. Organized sexual abuse that included "ceremonies" with supposed religious significance. Horrifying ceremonies in which religious people, some from her own family, sacrificed her as an offering for spiritual transcendence or redemption.

Emunah is not alone. More than ten women between the ages of 20-45 with whom we spoke describe a severe phenomenon raising serious concern that in Israel, like many countries worldwide, organized sexual abuse of children is occurring right under everyone's nose.

"Perhaps the world knows that rape occurs, that incest exists, but this the world doesn't know," Emunah said. "These acts have been kept secret for years, perhaps because of their insanity… it was always very, very strange. As if there was an internal logic, but it was so crazy… very strange things happen there, normalized in a ritualistic and orderly manner. There's a specific time, there's when to say this verse and when to say that verse, there's an order as if things are supposed to be done this way…"

Each woman we interviewed during our investigation has a different life story. They come from different areas of the country, from north to south. Each is at a different place in her life. Some are students, others work and manage careers and family lives, and there are also young women barely surviving, clinging to life by their fingernails.

These women did not know each other previously, grew up in different communities, and come from different sectors and religious streams. Yet the ritual abuse stories they describe are similar in ways that compel us to listen and not turn a blind eye. Some were harmed in early childhood educational settings or in girls' schools, others in their family homes, yeshivas or synagogues. In this article, we present only a very small sample from many hours of interviews and information, and some descriptions in this article are difficult to read. The great fear expressed by everyone who spoke with us is that organized sexual abuse of children continues even today.
