IAEA Declares Iran In Breach of Nuclear Obligations for First Time in Nearly 20 YearsJohn Hayward 12 Jun 2025

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has formally declared Iran in breach of its nuclear non-proliferation obligations for the first time in nearly 20 years. The resolution passed on Thursday could pave the way for military action against Iran’s nuclear weapons program.

The governing board of theIAEA found Iran guilty of “many failures to uphold its obligations since 2019to provide the agency with full and timely cooperation regardingundeclared nuclear materialand activities atmultipleundeclared locations.”

The board said Iran’s failure to cooperate “constitutes non-compliance with its obligations under its safeguards agreement with the agency.” The momentous vote saw only Russia, China, and Burkina Faso voting no, while 11 countries abstained, and19 voted in favor of the resolution.

Iran unsurprisingly rejected the resolution as “completely political and biased,” and saidit would respond by opening yet another uranium enrichment center.

The IAEA wasparticularly concernedwith traces of uranium found at three “undeclared” nuclear sites – in other words, nuclear research facilities Iran lied about and attempted to conceal. The damning evidence wasfirst discoveredin 2019 and 2020==. Iran has been stonewalling inspectors, destroying evidence, and refusing to answer questions ever since…

IAEA Director RafaelGrossi spent the past five years awkwardlyinsisting diplomacy was preferable to conflict, while growing increasingly exasperated with Iranian intransigence. He appeared close to the end of his rope in early May, when he complained about Iran’s “completely unsatisfactory” conduct after a trip to Tehran. “It’s a very frustrating situation.

Grossi delivered a damning quarterly report to the IAEA Board of Governors on Monday, prompting speculation that diplomacy might soon come to an end, even as the Trump administration planned for more meetings with Iranian officials in Oman this weekend.

The first leaks about Grossi’s report made it sound as though Iran had finally exhausted the IAEA’s patience… “I will continue to support and encourage the U.S. and Iran to spare no effort and exercise wisdom and political courage to bring this to a successful conclusion,” the director said on Monday.

Iran issued increasingly belligerent statements throughout the week, including threats to attack U.S. military bases across the Middle East, which led observers to conclude that an IAEA judgment of non-compliance could presage military action.

The U.S. withdrew non-essential embassy staff from Iraqon Thursday, another sign that trouble is expected. The State Department also offered departure options to staffers in Bahrain and Kuwait, while Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth “authorized the voluntary departure of military dependents” from across the Middle East.

On Wednesday, the UK Maritime Trade Operations Center warned ships in the Persian Gulf, the Gulf of Oman, and the Strait of Hormuz of “increased tensions within the region which could lead to an escalation of military activity.”

U.S. and European officials told the New York Times (NYT) on Thursday that Israel “appears to be preparing to launch an attack soon on Iran.” The left-wing outlet claimed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly been trying to convince President Donald Trump that military action is the only way to halt Iran’s march toward atomic weapons. Trump has allegedly resisted military action while there was some hope for negotiations to prevail… Trump spoke with Netanyahu on Monday, but the White House did not disclose details of their conversation.

Technically, Iran would have to be formally declared non-compliant a second time before the matter would be referred to the U.N. Security Council (UNSC),but the Iranians are clearly signaling they have no intention of taking positive steps toward avoiding a second censure.“Iran intends to launch a series of retaliatory nuclear measures as soon as the resolution is adopted at the IAEA,” a senior Iranian official told CNN on Wednesday.

Although American and Israeli intelligence officials say Iran has always cheated on its non-proliferation obligations, the last time the IAEA formally declared Tehran non-compliant was in 2005.

Trump Lauded for Signing Law to Stop California from Phasing Out Gas-Powered Cars: ‘This Is Not the United States of California’

(Trump should phase out Newscum once and for all) Nick Gilbertson, 6/12/25

WASHINGTON, DC –President Donald Trump has signed legislation to reverse a radical California policy that would phase out the sale of new gas-powered cars by 2035.

Trump signed the legislation during a ceremony in the East Room of the White House on Thursday.

“I want to thank everybody for being here.We officially rescue the U.S. auto industry from destruction by terminating the California electric vehicle mandate once and for all,” Trump said to applause before signing the legislation.

“They’d pass these crazy rules in California, and…17 states would go by ’em, and the automakers didn’t know what to do, because they’rereally building cars for two countries,”Trump added.

Trump and the newly enacted law are drawing praise from leaders of the American Trucking Associations (ATA) and the American Petroleum Institute (API), while General Motors (GM) is also applauding the move.

“Today, common sense prevailed. We thank President Trump, EPA Administrator Zeldin, and congressional leadershipfor taking decisive action to end crippling, detached-from-reality rulemakingsthat would have imposed devastating economic consequences on American businesses and families,” said ATA President and CEO Chris Spear.

“This is not the United States of California. With the stroke of his pen, President Trump is restoring the certainty that the trucking industry needs to deliver for our nation as we continue to reduce our environmental impact,” he added.

API President and CEO Mike Sommers hailed the signing as “a major victory for American consumers, manufacturers and U.S. energy security,” Fox News reported.

“We thank President Trump and Congress for delivering on their promise to put an end to these extreme mandates and ensure every American can choose the vehicle that’s best for them,” he said.

GM provided a statement on the legislation as well, according to the report.

“We appreciate the actions taken by President Trump to sign H.J. Res. 88 into law and help align emissions standards with today’s market realities,” a statement attributed to the company reads.

“We have long advocated for one national standard that will allow us to stay competitive, continue to invest in U.S. innovation, and offer customer choice across the broadest lineup of and electric vehicles,” GM added.

Toyota Chairman: A Single EV Produces as Much Pollution as 3 Hybrids over Its Total Lifecycle

LUCAS NOLAN 12 Jun 2025

Toyota Chairman Akio Toyoda has raised concerns about the environmental benefits of battery electric vehicles (EVs),suggesting that hybrids offer a more practical path to reducing carbon emissions in certain regions. He argues that Toyota’s 27 million hybrid vehicles have the same carbon footprint as only nine million when the entire lifecycle of emissions is taken into account.

WhichCar reports that in a recent interview, Toyota Chairman Akio Toyoda emphasized that while carbon neutrality remains the company’s top priority,he believes that hybrid vehicles may be more effective at reducing carbon emissions compared to true EVs. Toyoda highlighted that Toyota has sold approximately 27 million hybrid vehicles, which he claims have had a similar carbon reduction impact as nine million EVs.

Toyoda argues that EVs are still significantly “dirtier” than gasoline-electric hybrids when factoring in the full lifecycle emissions.

From Toyoda’s perspective, when battery production and emissions from power generation are taken into account,a single EV is responsible for as much pollution as three hybrids.

These remarks underscore Toyota’s “multi-pathway” strategy, which advocates for a diverse mix of powertrains, including hybrids, plug-in hybrids, hydrogen fuel cells, and EVs, tailored to the specific infrastructure and energy conditions of each region. Toyoda also warned of potential economic risks, suggesting that a sudden shift to EV-only production could endanger jobs, particularly in countries like Japan where engine manufacturing still plays a dominant role in the automotive industry.

Toyota’s hesitancy to go all-in on battery electric vehicles has drawn criticism from some who question if the company is prepared for an electrified future.

Yet Toyota remains the world’s largest automaker, a position it has held for five years running as of 2024.While its fully electric offerings may lag behind competitors, Toyota’s expansive lineup of efficient hybrids and remaining gas models continue to drive strong sales.

Even as Toyota ramps up its electrification efforts, the company remains committed to the joy of driving enthusiast-oriented cars as well.

CEO Koji Sato recently commentedthat “a car is not a car if it’s not fun.”The next few years will see Toyota revive nameplates like the Supra, Celica and possibly MR2 as previewed by a mid-engine prototype. Lexus is also developing a high-performance GT3-inspired road car.

(The whole danger of the EV is the explosive, expensive battery, but now it produces more pollution then hybrids. I bet if you proved this to a Tesla driver (not all Tesla Drivers), they wouldn’t even care, it’s not all about it doesn’t pollute to the owner, it’s a status symbol and advertising they are wealthy, and they can afford more than others. or they are holier and better than others.

To replace the battery without a warranty, it runs from anywhere of $26,000 to $38,000 or more. If someone has to have a Tesla they should lease it.PS do you notice Tesla sounds like UFOs, it’s freaking annoying, couldn’t Elon come up with a better sound?)
